3.5 stars. Some may pass this breakfast/brunch spot on the main street for decades, before chancing in. There's a lithe easy staff of great waitresses that seem to float by in black. The pine booths that dominate are nice - the distracting giant tv screens put in overhead to repetitively show videos of pancakes are not. Menu is strong but not huge. Perfect bacon and impressive fresh squeezed OJ. You can get a bottle of Coke, but if you order a Coke they'll bring Pepsi alas. Old established locals quietly fill the place - which is a sign of a good restaurant. Recommend a booth for long conversations over pancakes - especially as the pro staff won't bother you.

We come here maybe 2x a month for breakfast/lunch and we haven't had a bad meal here. Everything is made from scratch the food is fresh and always presented nicely on the plate. They recently refurbished and it always clean and inviting. The servers are very sweet and nice too. Service is great here. Highly recommend Heidi's

Tried to find a good breakfast spot and Heidi's is the good place for breakfast. I had the steak and eggs burrito with hash brown and it was delicious! The staff were very friendly and welcomed us. Erica was our server and she was very friendly and fast bringing our food. Love the painting on the walls. Please check out this restaurant! Mahalo.

A few days ago, my friend and I had a most tasty breakfast here. Service was friendly, and the restaurant is light, bright and welcoming. And conveniently located in downtown Carson, so walkable if the weather is nice. My friend had bacon pancakes (they're apparently on a secret menu and come up on the bill as "cakes with fruit") and I had the veggie benedict. Everything was delicious and we hope to be back soon.

I had the fruit crepe with Nutella and caramel latte, and I enjoyed both. My kids enjoyed the french toast and chicken teriyaki bowl. I liked that we were seated right away, the server took our orders shortly after being seated, and the food and drinks came out quickly. I would come back for their crepes

I haven't had Heidi's in years since I was growing up in Tahoe in the 70's & 80's. When I recently learned there was one in Carson City, I knew we had to try it. It's a popular place on weekends so, expect a bit of a wait, but the wait is worth it! We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast with fantastic service in a nice clean and bright restaurant atmosphere. Their crepes were pretty epic as were my chilaquiles! They feed you huge portions so don't be surprised if you cannot finish! We've been back twice more since discovering this location. Enjoy!

Heidi's was just incredible! Such great diner dishes. We had a skillet and a wrap and both were very large. The veggie skillet (added chorizo) was the best option. The veggies were so perfect and the dish was such a great value. Can not wait to come back!

Food was excellent. Service was excellent. I got the California Omelette which was spinach, Monterrey Jack Cheese, and avocado. Wow! If you are in Carson City and looking for a breakfast joint... here it is.

If you're looking for a nice simple spot for breakfast or lunch in Carson City, check this place out! Heidi's is a nice, typical family restaurant that offers a variety of foods! My friends and I went to breakfast there and enjoyed going there. The staff are nice and friendly. I've been a few times and always have a pleasant experience. Food is good, comes out hot and ready to eat! Flavours are good and food is filling! The price is great and family friendly place. I'd recommend visiting for some good, simple dinning experience!

Every time I come here my mind is blown by the delectable food, attentive service and sweet ambiance. I don't know why I've never tried the Chilaquiles! This is probably the best Chilaquiles I've had in the reno/sparks/Carson area. The Chico's are fully coated in a lovely red sauce yet maintain a slight crispy center that is pure magic. Ask for the green sauce! In Sane. The NY Steak Oscar and eggs was delish too! Finally the traditional Benedict was superb. Excellent hollandaise sauce, too. I'm gluten free but often order the benes without the muffin 1but my daughter had it as is. Yummy!!

Would come again? Yes…read more Food is well executed across dishes. I got the deluxe eggs benedict which was well seasoned, perfectly cooked eggs, and crispy hash browns. The service is quick and the owner is inviting, thoughtful, and helpful. Everytime ive gone here there's usually a small wait, but its definitely worth the wait. The outdoor brunch/lunch vibes with well executed food is worth it. Would recommend.

Unfortunately, Gateway Cafe gave me absolutely nothing but attitude…read more We hadn't even sat down. We walked up and were told there was a 35+ minute wait, which is fine, restaurants get busy. But the hostess looked me up and down and then hit us with, "leaning more on the +, 30 minutes." Like okay girl, why are we doing all that? We jokingly offered her $100 to let us in earlier and she goes, "No, I'll take your money after you eat the food though." And honestly the joke would've landed if the energy before that wasn't already so weird. At that point we literally just left. And what makes the whole thing even more ironic is that Gateway Cafe markets itself as woman-owned and LGBTQ-friendly, but the experience did not feel particularly welcoming or inclusive. The clientele was overwhelmingly older and white, and as someone who clearly did not fit into that demographic, I felt very aware of it. There was a palpable feeling of being looked at rather than welcomed. Obviously, I can't speak for anyone else's experience, but this was mine. And I'm sorry, but if I'm already uncomfortable before I've even ordered a mimosa, why exactly would I stay and spend my money? The food could be incredible. I wouldn't know. We left before we ever got the chance to find out.
