Jerry and his employees are experienced professionals. My truck is always kept in perfect mechanical condition, and his prices are very fair. It's a long drive from my place to his, but I gladly make it for every service or repair I need. He's always been honest with me, and if a repair is coming in 10,000 miles, he'll let you know in advance so you can be prepared when the time comes. Some shops spring it on you, and try to hard sell parts and services, but this shop doesn't do that, which I appreciate. It really helps you budget for more expensive repairs. I have been going to Jerry for 15 yrs. My entire family and their extended families take their vehicles here. JERRY IS HONEST, FAIR, AND UPFRONT. Once I was in a hurry to have some work done and had it quoted by 3 other places. For something that Jerry said would be between $150 and 200 for labor (already had the part) one place quoted $350, another quoted $850 and I had to leave it there overnight.. Jerry has replaced belts and wasn't going to charge just cause he knew it was worn and needed to be replaced...thats the kind of mechanic I want...one that doesn't upsell, but would rather be willing to eat the cost of a belt because he didn't put it in the quote, than to have his customer be stranded because of a worn belt that they were unaware of..Sometimes Jerry might be booked out for the week but he always does his best to accommodate you. read more

The owner, Jerry, is a great mechanic. He is excellent at determining the issues with a vehicle and interpreting, for the customer, the proper and economic way to go about fixing it. He was always at the shop getting his hands dirty while I was there and it was obvious that he got his hands on every car. I had a problem with a vehicle. Jerry inspected it for very little money and refused to take more when it was offered. When Jerry had it overnight at the shop he drove it home to continue to inspect if it had any further issues. He works fast and at a very reasonable rate. To be honest, he seems to have enough business but I cannot let the positive interactions that I had with this man go unnoticed. A very honest and trustworthy mechanic. I do not live in Mesa, it is a long drive to get there. I am confident that Jerry's work is worth the extra miles. Hedrick's Auto is a reminder that good, honest, and reliable mechanics exist. Jerry is an amazing person and does a great job at what he does. My girlfriend bought a used car and the previous owner lied about the state of the vehicle and it broke down right after we purchased it. It was towed here and despite having no room, and a long wait list, Jerry started on it that same day, staying late to work on it and calling us periodically to let us know what had happened. The vehicle had a warped cylinder head but he got it running, drove it to our house, and helped us out when it came to dealing with the liar who sold us the car. I went to my regular mechanic and after he charged me almost $800 for some issues, he told me I had another issue that would cost another $750 - i had to fix it because it's extremely dangerous. My friend recommended Jerry and I went to see him. Jerry looked over the issue and explained everything to me and found that although there was rust on my car, there was nothing imminent. When looking for a mechanic, it is often an exercise in futility trying to find a good, honest and reputable one who won't try and bend you over a barrel price wise. I've had to take my car to a few garages over the last 3 years, some of which came with fairly decent reviews here and afterwards still felt the need to keep looking for one reason or the other, including one who more or less took my money and did nothing to even suggest what might have been wrong. However, upon a referral from a personal friend of mine, I took my car recently to Jerry and Hedrick's. Mind you, at the time I took it there, I was almost certain my transmission was shot, which in itself is every automobile owner's worst nightmare. Not only did Jerry work with me and get me a functional transmission at a price that even I could afford, but he wasted no time at all fixing it and had us back on the road in the shortest of short order. Some would have charged an arm and a leg just for a used one, then taken a month of Sunday's to fix it. Jerry and the Hedrick folks are clearly more about customer satisfaction and building sustained relationships with customers than breaking your bank. I will not let another mechanic touch my car from now on. As long as I remain in the East Valley (which isn't changing), no matter how small the issue, my car is going to Hedrick's. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. They truly are that honest and good. Mechanics like these folks are sadly few and far between.
