Two years ago I gave this location a 1. Since then I've had 3 surgeries and a lot of mental health changes, and am coming back to say - sometimes it's up to the customers to ensure communication is complete between doctors offices, insurance companies, and pharmacists. I see how hard these folks work around the holidays, and we all know insurance is the real problem with medical care - so I'm back to update my review and give thanks to the pharmacists at HEB who are doing their best to help people despite what I can only assume is an infiriating amount of red tape. read more

I know HEB has to make a profit, but I shouldn't have to check good rx every time I get a refill. The HEB price is always significantly higher, so I have to call and ask for the better price or transfer everything to another pharmacy. Many employees argue with me and tell me I paid $$ previously, so that is the price (even when it's a different dose/amount). Gaslighting customers is not a good look. Sometimes I get nice employees who are happy to help, wish there were more. Makes me furious to think about how many people don't know they price gouge, or that they can get a better price. read more

I'll keep it short and sweet. The prices are usually much cheaper than places like CVS and Randall's which is a plus. But other than that, I hate this location. The pharmacists are incredibly rude. They talk over you as you try to explain things and speak to you like you're a mentally deficient child. This has happened to me quite literally every time I engage with them and I have been nothing but kind (I'm super shy and I can't bring myself to be confrontational). One of them even cut me off and hung up on me mid-sentence. Like, what even? If you hate working here, quit and move. Don't get snippy with the customers. I don't want to be here just as much as you, trust me. They take forever and a day to fill prescriptions and sometimes, they won't even tell you that it has been filled, even when you sign up for phone calls and/or text messages. Once, I called in to check on some tooth pain medication and the pharmacist was like "Oh, yeah, we filled that three days ago." Again, what even? So, I've moved all my prescriptions to Walgreens where they actually listen to me, are nicer, give me tips and instructions, and fill my prescriptions quickly. Honestly, if you can, go to another pharmacy. Or, you can use Good Rx or Cost Plus Drugs to get your medications. The experience has turned me off any and all HEB pharmacies for a long time. I'm not sure who deleted my review from last week but i will gladly post it again. the girl working the drive through window was extremely rude to me. basically laughed at me and replied "you don't know how to take pills?" when i asked her to explain my prescriptions to me. she literally just did the bare minimum. please do better heb pharmacy, this is my favorite heb but i will not be coming back to the pharmacy in the future. read more

Today I came to this HEB as my normal HEB pharmacy did not carry the Rx I required (my normal HEB sent me to this location). I arrived at 4:20 PM and waited in the line designated for dropping off prescriptions. However, there appeared to be another 'make shift' line for pickup orders. The HEB employee who was working the drop-off line shifted as I approached the counter to drop off my Rx to the pickup line and proceeded take 3 customers who arrived after me in line. When the employee finally came back to my line it was 4:44 PM. On an aside, had I not said anything, the employee was going to take yet a 4th customer another in-front of me again in the drop off line. I am a frequent customer of HEB. However, I will not return to this HEB pharmacy because of lack of organization and customer service. read more

SUPER LONG WAIT TIME This pharmacy is directly across from my apartment so it would be the most convenient. I've never really taken medication consistently so I chose this when my doctor prescribed me two medications. I've gone three times(monthly refills) and today will be the last time. I've already learned that you need to stop by and tell them you need it to be filled ahead of time. Calling works sometimes... After I stopped by to let them know I needed to pick it up, came back about 4hrs later. Then sat for 45 MINUTES to get my prescription. So over an hour of my day taken up to get these filled. And it's not just my medicine. Everyone waits this long. If you use the drive through, you're stuck. So you can't leave if it's taking too long. read more

My experiences here are all good. They need more help as you will wait a long time if u want to drop off n wait. PRICES are the best. I was a faithful CVS customer for years. I pd $57. for a prescription there only to get the refill at HEB for $12. I have price checked since then only to find once again HUGE DIFFERENCES. SO NOW ... I have multiple sclerosis. This pharmacist decided to call my doctor and tell them that they should cancel my prescription, but she didn't talk to my doctor, she talked to an assistant. The assistant whom I've never met apparently didn't know any better, and canceled my prescription, leaving me without my medicine today. Now I'm waiting on my REAL Dr to call my prescription back in, not some assistant, of whom I'm now thinking I should seek legal counsel against as well. Stress is set off all of my MS attacks and I can't tell you how stressful this is, but I'll bet you my doctor could. Not a pharmacist, that's why they don't practice medicine, they fill prescriptions, except this one. She apparently practices medicine, cancels prescriptions against the doctor's wishes, just not legally. read more

The staff at this location is what keeps me coming back. They are always very warm and friendly even though I know they are swamped and busy. They always go above and beyond in helping me find coupons or make suggestions to lower my cost. I love the fact that there's not a lot of turnover with the employees at this pharmacy. It almost makes me feel like I'm going to a small town pharmacy where you really get to know the people on our weekly/monthly basis. I like being a regular. read more

Wow, HEB, you've got some issues here. Read the other reviews. They are spot on. Every time they look up my insurance they tell me I don't have insurance....I don't have insurance...while I'm holding my insurance card in my hand....HEB knows best of course. Terrible service. The person who was helping me get my Rx became rude because I needed help with Good rx for savings. I have had 3 experiences with rudeness. Needed help with getting a coupon from good rx and was treated very bad because I needed the savings on prescription. I was left hanging at the window as the person who was helping moved on to help another customer with no explanation as to why I was waiting. So I ask if my prescription was not filled and was rudely told and I had to wait for coupon number to be entered. Then after I had been in line 29 minutes still waiting, I was asked if I had some shopping to do which meant get out of line and start all over again. I said no I'll wait. read more

Switch from Walgreens to them and both times I been there they never have my prescription ready. When I call them they say to come pick the prescription up in 1 hour. I go back and they need to restock I need to wait 2 more days. Really bad customer service read more

I seriously hate coming here. The turn around time is beyond ridiculous. I wait and wait and wait for someone to notice me in the drive through stall. When they do it seems like they are inept, busy, too overworked to be bothered with helping me. .. I don't know. The fact that a trip here is never less than 30 minutes is flat stupid. I hate going to the HEB pharmacy, but my husband feels some loyalty to them and insists we go there even though we have had mostly negative experiences there. I'm not sure why... What first turned me off about them is the ridiculous wait, and the fact that seemingly peak hours are horribly understaffed. What annoyed the crap out of me was that when my doctor calls prescriptions in, they never fill them. I have to call, give them the time around that my doctor called, then I have to wait forever for it to be filled - any other pharmacy fills it without a call from me. The HEB pharmacy has been nothing but inept. The reasons I loathe this place: 1) there is a woman who works there who has been extremely rude to my husband and I every time we encounter her. She has erroneously a accused us of not having insurance, never counts the HEB prescription discount card we have, even though others do, on covered medications, etc. We've both noticed her attitude changes with other customers of her race, so we think it's a racial issue on her part. Both of us try to be nice despite her attitude and errors and nothing works. 2) tonight when I went, my prescriptions were over priced, the person at the counter claimed my insurance only covered a tiny portion, even though one of the prescriptions (the one I was charged the most for) was filled at Walgreens 2 weeks earlier and it was a fraction of the price (brand name). This might be an issue with my insurance, but usually whatever the reason is I have a higher premium, the pharmacy is able to explain it, but the HEB had none, more like a "you're SOL" attitude when I asked. I decided to pay for my prescriptions and was told I needed a consult with a pharmacist for the new antibiotic I was prescribed and to wait at the consult counter. I stood there for a while, waiting, and no pharmacist. Eventually, the same girl who told me to stand and wait came back to me and told me that she forgot to tell me the pharmacist stepped out, and asked if I preferred to wait or be called, really wish she would have told me this in the first place, so I opted to be called, took my prescriptions, and left. 30 minutes later, I got a call from the pharmacy, I answered and was asked if Margaret was there. I told the pharmacist that I had the pharmacy number in my contacts on my cell, that I had been expecting her call, but that my name is Jennifer. She seemed very confused, I explained once more, and she asked if I had picked the prescriptions up for "Margaret", I told her that I picked them up for myself and was told to expect her call, giving her my name again. She explained to me that the pharmacy staff erroneously wrote my name down as "Margaret" next to my prescriptions and phone number rather than my name. She was very short with me when I asked her questions and was unable to answer them. Real professional. 3. My husband went in to pick up my birth control, which is usually free. He was told it would be $20. He was quite confused and asked what happened, telling them it's always free. They told him with the prescription discount plan, it was $20. He asked how much it would be without it, and baffling enough, they told him $0. He then told them "So you're telling me that with your 'discount plan' it costs money and without it doesn't?". He asked them to not apply the discount plan so we wouldn't be charged. The person at the counter could give no explanation. After all of this, I've had enough, we will be taking our prescriptions elsewhere, it's extremely disconcerting that my prescriptions are handled so unprofessionally, I'm treated poorly, and that the people in charge of getting my prescriptions together are so inept. read more

Exceptional service. They did all they could to find the lowest price on my eye drops and I truly appreciate them for that. They get very busy I suggest utilizing the drive thru drop off or asking your doctors office to send the prescription ahead to the pharmacy. Please be patient with them. read more

They don't have your prescription ready despite what the auto call says. They will give you the wrong medication then when you go to return it they won't give you a refund. If they say it will take 15 minutes they really mean 45. read more

Understaffed and rude. The head pharmicist was not professional. I don't think the cashiers in the pharmacy are trained. Its a shame because the grocery store staff is on point. Please get more staff in pharmacy and customer service training. I was there 10/18/2019. read more

Didn't take my insurance and didn't bother to tell me while I thought I was waiting for my rx. Also didn't have my medication in stock and didn't feel like informing me. The only nice person is John the pharmacist. I'm switching to CVS. They were much more customer friendly and had what I needed. read more

Absolutely abysmal service. If we didn't have to get our medicine at HEB, I would gladly pay more to go somewhere else. After the incompetency and apathy I witnessed today, I will look into transferring all of our prescriptions to another HEB across town. After using a million pharmacies over the years, I'm very satisfied with this HEB. I think many people don't understand how insurance works and what pharmacists are allowed and not allowed to say. We have no idea how busy they are and they can't always help how long some things take or if they're out of a medicine. Just because you have an insurance card in your hand doesn't mean it's current! They also can't help with another company's system is telling them. read more

Anyone who would give this pharmacy a 5 star; must be brain dead! Because 20 minutes + 20 minutes + 20 minutes = 1 hour to wait for my medication. Maybe if they had told me 1 hour in the beginning I could have left and come back; however, they would add 20 minutes (every 20 minutes) and then told me it would not be ready and I would have to leave and come back. I ultimately called another HEB pharmacy who told me that my prescription had been ready, but for some reason were not giving it to me. AND this is not the first time! Over the last many years I had TRIED this pharmacy I get some kind of issue. Just tell me the truth and I will adjust my time (because I know you get busy - that is expected) but do not lie about the time. Go to another HEB pharmacy; I have no problems at any other HEB - and trust me I have lived here all my life and have been to MANY HEB pharmacies and this one is the worst. read more
