Moved to Derby about a year ago. Typically went to the Dunkin down the road until I finally decided to go here one day. The coffee is 1000x better than Dunkin. I refuse to go to Dunkin for breakfast, now that I found this place. The sandwiches are delicious, reasonably priced and the donuts are always delicious. I've gotten the donuts from here and they are great! Better than Dunkin! However I went the other day craving a muffin. Well I got so excited because they had pistachio which is my favorite. When I opened the package I got shear disappointment. The muffin was a dark green color, the muffin was super small, it was super dry, and once again too green!! My dining companion and I are glad we stopped. Donuts here seem larger than those of a national brand. And they are filled generously. My cheeseburger was fabulous, made from fresh-ground beef and hand-formed. The bun, however, was way oversize, dwarfing the burger. Speed of service will improve with time and experience. The place is dirty.....the owner frequently works the drive thru and wears the same gloves when making your food then taking the $. They constantly run out of food, even early in the morning. I must have driven by Heavn'ly Donuts for a year before I ever stopped in. While this was probably good for my waistline, I can't believe I went those days without the good quality coffee they have here! I am addicted to their iced blueberry coffee - and they have tons of other flavors to choose from. And what I love about the flavors is that the coffee itself is flavored and they do not add a sweet sugary syrup to get the flavor! Their breakfast sandwiches are freshly prepared and their donuts are to die for. The only problem you will have is needing to stop yourself from going up to their drive-through window more than once a day! The service is also great which is the cherry on top. Second time visiting here at first I buy 2 donuts then I asked for a latte and was never told how much it was then got charged 9 dollars even with no reciept so when my latte comes out I ask for a reciept and the latte costed 7 dollars and it was the worst drink I've ever purchased the whipped cream filled half the cup ice filled a quarter and the rest was some cheap dairy shake I would have never bought a latte for that outrageous price so next time you might want to tell people what things cost not just ( your guna luv it) as you did to me and lost a customer who works next door to your location read more

First and foremost I consider myself somewhat of a donut aficionado. I had a glazed donut and a chocolate donut for full disclosure. These were quite possibly the worst donuts I have ever had in my entire life. Dunkin Donuts uses frozen donuts that are shipped in and reheated. I would assume these were made onsite but were no better than the DD frozen counterparts. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these tasteless bland handfuls of sadness with a soggy texture and instead poke yourself in the eye with a sharp stick. I only went here because my regular shop was on vacation. read more

Maybe I'm just a local yokel and don't have the world's best taste, but I certainly LOVE Heav'nly Donuts! Some of their doughnuts are just okay, but the type of doughnut they offer that is TO DIE FOR is the Vanilla Angel doughnut. Even if you need an insulin chaser after eating this divine confection, it is everything you could possibly want in a doughnut! The creme inside is just so fluffy and luscious, the dough is nice, moist, and squishy, and the powdered sugar is simply decadent. I also have never been disappointed by their coffee. When I visit, I also usually get a breakfast sandwich: sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant (hard to get croissants past noon, so I usually end up getting a hard roll instead, not a biggie), which is extremely good, and an iced coffee that's always very creamy and just sweet enough. I had an iced Greek latte the last time I went there, and since I love Greek and Turkish coffee, I gave it a try and it was most excellent. I saw a reviewer on here say that they'd rather go to Starbucks because of the better decor or whatever and all I have to say is: LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL, sucks to be you! Nothing against Starbucks, they have good coffee, but their food is beyond overpriced. For those off us whom don't use money as toilet paper and don't choose our foods by the FRIGGING WALLPAPER, we'll be perfectly happy with our quaint little doughnut shop and its classic car shows on Sunday evenings in the warmer months. I hope I haven't rumpled too many Calvin Klein panties by saying that. ;) It's definitely a nice break from the inconsistent coffee quality that one can expect from Dunkin Donuts. Love this place! It's a great place to grab a coffee or sandwich. I love coming here on weekend mornings when I have a little extra time to enjoy. I am obsessed with their breakfast sandwiches - the bacon, egg and cheese on a plain bagel to be specific! Their coffee is also great and they have SO many unique flavors. I recommend the coconut hazelnut! The atmosphere in this place is nothing special, basically looks like a Dunkin Donuts inside with tables but for a quick and casual breakfast, it's great! I live about 40 mins away but if I am in the area, I will go out of my way to make it here. The flavored coffee is SO good. I drink my coffee black and I love that the flavors come from the coffee and not added sweet syrups. I like to use up my sweet quota on the ridiculously good donuts. My favorite is...all of them. Staff not friendly. I ordered an everything bagel but was told they were sold out; I pointed to one on the shelf. Oh. The cream cheese was spread thin like butter. I asked for more and they were passive aggressive about it. Plastic utensils are kept behind the counter for some reason so you have to wait in line again to get one. They don't give you napkins or a bag with a to go order. They forgot to give me my bottled water. They didn't give me a receipt. read more

Wow! These donuts are simply amazing! We decided to stop because we were in the mood for a good cup of coffee and tired of the usual donut places that seem to be on every corner. Upon arriving, it looks disappointing because the facade is a bit worn looking and the inside needs to be renovated. I almost left figuring that this place looks dumpy so the food must match the atmosphere. Well...Never judge a book by its cover and never judge the donut until you taste it. I ordered a strawberry jelly donut and it was Heavenly!! The first bite was light, airy, like biting into a cloud made of the finest cake. The jelly was fresh and light too. Just delish! My dad had the Bavarian creme filled powdered donut and the Bavarian cream was thick and not overly sweet. My coffee was fresh and really hit the spot! Overall this place was pretty average. The faded signs and outdated interior made me doubt the choice initially, but they won back some credibility with the taste of the donuts. Pros: -Lots of Parking, apparently they sometimes even host car shows. -Very easy to get to, only a few minutes off the Merritt. -Donuts were about average, but fresh, which goes a long way. -An independent donut shop, which is always good to see. If these donuts are heavenly, I'm a little afraid to go to Heaven! From what I can tell, by my brief visit and other posts, this place seems to be a staple of the community. It's been around a while, they hold community events like car shows and food drives, and when I went in, there seemed to be regulars chatting, both with employees and amongst themselves. However, the donuts were not good. I got half a dozen (which they put in a bag instead of a box). Here's what I found: Apple Filled - The dough was undercooked. And it wasn't even by a little bit. The inside was basically still dough. And there was maybe a teaspoon of apple filling. Glaze - Very little glaze on the outside, and the donut was so dry that I had trouble swallowing it. Chocolate Glaze - Extremely small. About the size of the Hostess mini donuts you buy in a bag at the store. Even smaller than Dunkin's. And, like the glaze, the dryness made it hard to swallow. Blueberry Cake - Very hard, and not much of a blueberry taste. Felt like I was eating a pre-frozen donut that was simply heated up in a fryer. The other two I had were the Boston and Jelly. They weren't as bad as the rest, but still in the same territory as Dunkin'. Both were similar in size to a chain store. They weren't as undercooked as the apple filled, but still could have used more time in the fryer, and the fillings were underwhelming as well. The Boston left a bland aftertaste, too. I'm not a fan of coffee or lattes, so I didn't try any of those. The hot coffee looked to be New England brand. I didn't try any danish or muffins, and I probably won't be returning to do so. Considering that it's a twenty minute drive out of my way, I don't think the trip to try more is worth it after I tasted the donuts. read more
