The crummy doughnut is always delicious and their coffee roll is tasty as well. Service has always been friendly. However, on more than one occasion, they are almost out of doughnuts fairly early in the day. I understand they have coffee and bagels, etc., but still! The coffee was very good, I got the special banana hazelnut with cream and suger and it was great. I tried my friends with just vanilla and it was also great. The customer service could've been better but that's okay. The bacon egg and cheese was not great, the egg didn't seem very fresh but was fairly priced. Overall good experience. read more

I go here about once a month. The donuts and breakfast sandwiches are fairly priced. The food is fresh but basic. The coffee is just ok. I normally go in as their is usually a long line in the druve thru early mornings. The staff is not consistently friendly. I am no donut expert and really do not eat them, but my friend loves donuts so we had to stop here. He liked them so much we had to stop by again for more! The place itself is not very impressive and did not seem any different than the donut chain which sits right across the street, but my friend swears the donuts are fresh and delicious and there's no skimping on the filling. Neither of us drink coffee so I cannot speak to that, but whenever I drive by the place is busy. The coffee was a bit watery, and barely filled with ice, but was fairly priced for the price. The sausage egg and cheese was also decent, but nothing impressive. Have to disagree with other recent reviewers...I like this place. As with everything, it's a question of personal preference. I think their doughnuts are the best in the area. Chocolate glazed, crummy, etc....the doughnuts seem to be the most consistently good ones around. Bagels are on par with other places. Sandwiches may not be the best around but are more than adequate. If you are not in the mood for darker roast stuff like starbucks, their coffee is great (iced or hot). Some of these specials and seasonal flavors are banana hazelnut, snowball, caramel nut biscotti, pistachio, and peanut butter chocolate. The differentiating factor is that the flavor doesn't come from added syrup. It's actually roasted into the coffee! If you come for the pastries then you need to get the cinnamon swirl. It is light and flakey and will inevitably cover your entire car if you try to eat it on the way home. Everyone inside is super friendly and they use Square so you can easily use tap to pay (they still take cash). I saw the line of cars stretching around the building so I thought "Must be something about it" especially since there's a Dunkin Donuts right across the street with zero traffic. Kept driving but then had to turn around. I needed to find out what makes people who are still in their pajamas, jump in their Mercedes, Subarus, or Ram trucks (you can make your vehicle anything you want, this is your turn to fantasize) and come here? The drive through menu was very sparse. No details. Just "donut" "breakfast sandwich" "coffee" "turnovers" "etc". So I went for two plain cake donuts. That should tell me everything I need to know. It did. One of the best plain donuts I've ever eaten! This was deep into mid morning and it still had everything it came with out of the fryer except heat. No sweat, I put it into the microwave for ten seconds. Voila! Donut Heaven. I'll be back. Not only for the donuts but the outstanding customer service the young ladies provided. Have come here many times to pick up donuts and coffee for work meetings but not sure I will be coming back. This mostly has to do with the unfriendly staff, they seem inconvenienced when they have to prepare an order. The donuts are decent. I'd stay away from the breakfast sandwiches- pretty sad. The rolls don't taste very fresh, the egg is one of those prepared patty type "eggs" and the bacon is stingy and cheap. Tastes like a gas station sandwich. I've been here a few times for ice coffee but today I came in for the doughnuts. I ordered a jelly stick and a pumpkin donut. Both were denser than a yeasted donut and tasted a little crusty. I would like to start with this isn't the first time I have been faced with POOR at best costumer service at this place. Every time I go, I am met by a less than enthusiastic employee. This wasn't a problem for me until this morning when the woman in the drive through window rolled her eyes at me then refused to say anything but "card" even when I told her thank you and to have a nice day. the doughtnuts here are OK in the morning. toward the end of the day, they aren't quite as good. I am pretty sure this was here before the Dunkin Donuts across the rotary .. two donut shops so close together is silly. cake donut was good, glazed was ok.. coffee was ok. its good to have an option to dunkin donuts sometimes. later in the day it seems to be a hang out for kids that are friends with the employees here and aren't welcome at dunkin donuts. if you want a doughnut here you usually have to interrupt the loitering. read more

The one on Post Road is disgraceful. The Black Rock Turnpike is better with competent workers but has no drive through. The Post Road Doughnut Inn is run by young teen/college girls who can't seem to wash their hands or know how to wear a mask properly in a two year pandemic. They consistently mess up your order and it defeats the purpose of a drive through when you're in a rush. They KNOW they messed your order up because when you walk in they tell you they are working on it but none of the multiple workers ever bother to run out to stop you in your car to tell you to come back. Their smirks and disrespect are the ultimate disgrace for this business. There needs to be an adult manager present. Hair nets should be mandated unless you are the type who enjoys their strand of hair in your sandwich. They would be out of business if DD across the street was a drive through. Doughnut Inn is a staple here in Fairfield and has been one of my favorite go to spots in the AM since 2002. There are several reasons that I prefer Doughnut Inn, but one of the major reasons is the service. My coffee is prepared correctly and my food is as ordered. The girls that work there are total sweethearts and it makes the whole morning drive thru coffee experience great. As far as what's REALLY good here: The Glorious Morning Muffin (addicting), the Pumpernickel Bagel w/Cream Cheese, Old Fashioned Doughnut and Vanilla Frosted w/Sprinkles. The Cinfully Nutty Iced Coffee is top notch and most of their coffee flavors are really delish. As far as the Cranberry muffin's go, I know absolutely nothing about them; but the lady in the below reviews is VERY pissed that she doesn't get enough cranberries in them. Apparently it's a life or death matter that requires several updates about the lack of cranberries. Lacking cranberries or not, Doughnut Inn is a consistent coffee experience and great stop for breakfast! read more

In a weak and feverish state, with my blood sugar plummeting, I *foolishly* stopped in on my way to an event last week. Seeing the inviting sign I thought Doughnut Inn would be the perfect solution to my hunger pains and clammy forehead. Boy was I WRONG.
