They have a large beer and mixed drinks offering. The service is top notch. When I went there with a friend, I asked about sitting outside and the GM lit a fire for us. She was super welcoming and accommodating! Thanks for a great evening!

We had three different beers from this brewery, one in which appears to be no longer in production. The discontinued one was a pale ale by the name of Peacemaker. It was refreshing and enjoyable to have. Flavor features with this beer are that typically seen with a pale ale which are hoppy, malty and sweet. The beer is very light bodied which is nice and very smooth. Unfortunate that it's out of production. The other two beers we had are still being made. One was Shotgun Betty which is a Hefeweizen. Not bad but sometimes I struggle with Hefes and the strong banana clove flavor which was the case here. It was good that it was light bodied like most Hefes are and smooth also. The final beer was the Sweet Josie Brown Ale which I think was my favorite. The sweet, malty and coffee flavors are very enjoyable and like the prior two beers a nice smooth body to this fine dark beer. I am glad I recalled this brewery experience as I felt it was important to post the beers we had and what we thought of them!

Just the right amount of seasoning to make the meal enjoyable. I had the Spaghetti and Meat Balls and it was fantastic. The source was different not overloaded with tomatoes and them food was not swimming in the sauce as I have seen in other restaurants. Just a hint os sauce and plenty ofmmeat in the sauce as you can see in the pictures. Three large size meatballs to go along with the dinner. Pinot Grigio was a good selection for my wife, my friend had the sierra Pale Ale, I had the Red Oak Amber which i loved. I enjoy a red ale of a dark amber with craft beers. Our waitress was spot on the whole evening sorry the name was not listed on the bill to mention her by name. The bar was full so it seems to be the place to be on a Friday evening to enjoy a brew with friends and associates. Compliments to the chef and the staff excellent job.

If you like a dirty martini, the Dirty Leesville is for you! We tried two appetizers and both were tasty. The fried pickles had the perfect pickle-to-breading ratio, and the potato skins were delicious with sour cream (loved the fresh green onion on these). My ribeye was flavorful and tender; even though I ordered it medium-rare and it came a touch past that, it was still delicious. If you're a local, this is a great spot for dinner and drinks. We got there at 5:30pm on a Friday and were seated immediately, but by 6pm there was a line out the door. Get there early!

If it's a beautiful day, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside instead. Still, the inside has a cozy, laid-back feel that works well. Shoutout to Qua, who was both the hostess and our server. She was welcoming, attentive, and handled everything smoothly, even as a few more parties came in while she was the only one serving at the time. One thing I really appreciated was that she let us know upfront what items were out of stock before we even looked at the menu. That level of transparency is huge and makes the experience so much better. My son ordered a slider with fries from the kids' menu. It comes with just one slider, so I ordered a second, definitely the right call. He enjoyed it, and the fries were cooked well, just a little on the salty side for our taste (ketchup helped balance that out). I had the shrimp tacos. It's packed and perfect portion for lunch. The shrimp, pineapple slaw, and chipotle mayo was a nice mix. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms). The location is also a plus, super close to the Art Museum, which makes it a great stop before or after visiting. Overall enjoyable, and I'd come back, especially to try more of the menu and the drinks.

I heard some people next to us complain about the wait time for their food but given how busy it was, I don't think it was insanely long. We sat on the porch and it was really nice dinner! Will definitely be returning to try other menu options!

The NY Strip arrived more than well done, so we told the waitress and she apologized and sent it back to the kitchen. As I was eating the meatloaf, I noticed an off taste and texture. I looked closer and realized it was still pink/slimy/raw! How can meatloaf be raw? It's supposed to be fully cooked first and then grilled. Whoever sliced it from the "loaf" should have noticed it was not cooked before throwing it on the grill! We notified the manager when he came to apologize for the NY strip, so he took the meatloaf back to the kitchen. When the NY Strip came back out, my husband cut into it and it was shiny and purple inside, from top to bottom...absolutely rare. The waitress agreed it was rare and took it back to the kitchen again. When it came out for the third time, it was perfect (third time's a charm, I guess?). The only saving grace was the kind waitress who felt awful about the sub par food. The kitchen put her in an uncomfortable position, but she handled it with grace. We ordered the chocolate torte for dessert and it was very good, but that's the only thing I'd return for.

Christmas time is beautiful, as they decorate the ceiling with garments and ornaments and other decorations around the massive restaurant, but reservations are needed no later than 6 months in advance. If you're fine waiting 3 hours for a table max, then you will be fine. Every single time we come to Angus Barn, something is different. Now they give you a soup or salad with your meal, along with bread! The cheese and crackers are famous among the people and are a great way to start your meal. The bread is so fresh also! All components in their house salad is great. Everything is awesome! The prime rib is tender and has such good flavor. Their mac n' cheese is the way to go. Their recipe is constantly changing. Like what I previously said, something is different every time you come to Angus Barn. The chocolate chess pie is the best I've had. This is a MUST when dining at Angus Barn. You HAVE to get the chocolate chess pie. The service is some of the best in the restaurant business and all do a great job at explaining things. So kind and professional! Once again, if you're around Raleigh and don't come to Angus Barn, you are missing out. I highly recommend you come. So good!

Food: 3 Service: 5…read moreAmbience: 4 Date/Time: 8/16/2026 5:40pm Order: Bacon wrapped filets, baked potato, stuffed potato and fries Crowd: Dining area 75% full, parking lot filled to the back of the lot I know, I know, Angus Barn is known all over, and at one time many MANY years ago when I went, it was pretty awesome all around. This time, maybe my expectations were too high, but it didn't strike me the same was as it did over 30 years ago. First off, I want to say that service from Andy was excellent! He was very attentive and actually interacted with us. We were celebrating my dad's birthday and Andy was really making it a big thing for him. He kept our glasses full and came around to check on us often. When he brought us the filets, he actually had us cut it down the middle and had a flashlight to allow us to see if it was cooked right. The ambience was still the same as before but more decoration with a lot more space and a lot more tables. It was a little on the noisy side but it was also almost full which I thought surprising on a Sunday. I think the wood walls helped absorb the sound better. We were seated immediately toward the back even being 20 minutes early of the reservation. The tables have a blue checkered tablecloth (used to be red checkers back in the day) and most everything was wood (walls, floor, etc). As you approach the front door, the covered area out front has seating and a bar with valet parking at the entrance to the covered porch. As you enter the main entrance, a country store counter is on the left, selling Angus Barn items, along with the restrooms further down. Straight ahead is the host station and then it opens up to the huge dining area. Wherever there are steps, there's also a ramp for handicap access. The food was a little disappointing to me. When I order a filet, I do expect it to melt in my mouth without much cutting required, and to have a natural taste to it as I don't usually put any sauce on it. This one comes with a red wine sauce which I was trying to use to get some taste in the meat but didn't like it. The bacon was sitting on top burnt to a crisp. The baked potato was good but the Caesar salad with homemade dressing didn't hit the spot for me. However, the chocolate cheesecake was very good! Also, the cheese/crackers/olives/etc starters waiting for us at the table was nice (used to have this at a big table at the front door where you wait for your seat but I'm sure COVID stopped that). Overall, the food was just OK, but not what I'd easily come back and pay the price for the filet. I'm not sure if maybe they hired a new cook and we got him/her or if this is just how they prepare their filets. I was going to give it a 4, but then asked myself if I were to look at a 4, wouldn't I expect the author to return... I probably won't return....... unless someone took me and let me order the chocolate cheesecake :-)
