We also ordered some soup dumplings , we appreciated the foil containers but if we had to order again we would definitely order more of the shrimp and pork shu mai! We asked the owner about what ant recommendations and he stated the Mongolian but honestly all the food was exceptional! I also ordered a tea and was given a refill on my pot which was so nice. Water was cold and refilled without us having to flag anyone down, which matters more than it sounds like when your hands are covered in Old Bay and butter. The dining room itself was clean, well-kept, and the energy was warm without being chaotic -- easy to talk over, easy to relax into. We finished with ice cream, which was a nice, unexpected way to close out a meal built around mess and spice. Boils here are market-priced, so it's not a cheap night out, but between the portion size, the sides included, and the attentiveness of the staff, it didn't feel like we were paying for atmosphere or hype -- it felt like we got what we paid for. This is a great pick for a group that doesn't mind getting their hands dirty -- girls' nights, birthdays, anyone who wants a seafood boil that doesn't take itself too seriously. If you're looking for a quiet, tidy dinner where you never touch your food, this isn't it, and that's exactly the appeal.

We arrived shortly after they opened, so we had our pick of tables. Our waitress greeted us right away, took our drink order, and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. We decided to start with the special as an appetizer, along with a Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll (which was very tasty), miso soup, a house salad, and a variety of sushi rolls. The salad was large enough for us to easily share, and everything came out quickly. The presentation of the sushi was fairly typical of what we've experienced at other sushi restaurants, but the portions were generous and, most importantly, the quality was very good. We also noticed that the restaurant uses really nice ceramic dishware throughout, although the soup bowl was the one exception and appeared to be plastic or melamine. One of the things we especially appreciated was the service. Yonsei has that genuine mom-and-pop restaurant feel, which is something we really enjoy and prefer to support. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and everything about the experience felt comfortable and welcoming. Overall, we were very happy we gave Yonsei a try. Good service, generous portions, quality sushi, and that local neighborhood feel make it a place we would definitely return to when we're in the area! One small suggestion would be to provide a better quality soy sauce. The soy sauce used at the table was a little too salty for our taste and not as "velvety" as others I have tried in the past.

When I order the daily special, which was the most expensive brunch item, I expect a nicely presented dish with a well prepared recipe. The skillet was no larger than my coffee saucer with no other accompanying sides. The brisket was not good. It was not tender, nor did it have a good smoked flavor. My belief is if you can't prepare a brisket up to a certain standard you shouldn't offer it on the menu, especially as the daily special. It was a very meager effort. I dont know if the new owners are relaxing their standards, but it would be huge mistake to do so. This visit will not prevent us from visiting again, but we expect better.
