High quality fish and great portions. I wish there were more rolls that didn't have either cream cheese or fried asparagus, there weren't many fresh roll options. The sashimi and nigiri were great. The piece of fish on the nigiri is easily double maybe even triple the size of a typical sushi place. The size of the restaurant made us feel rushed though. We ate fairly quickly and wanted to chat for a moment but the hostess was yelling that they needed a table for two and when I looked around all the tables were taken so we left. If they had more fresh roll options and we didn't feel as rushed this would get 5 stars.

Staff is helpful and sushi is delicious! We have enjoyed everything we've tried over the past year.

Everything was surprisingly good for being in Denver, well Thornton in this case. The only thing I thought could've been better was the miso soup. It had umami but needed a little salt or soy sauce. Service was good and quick. The decor and atmosphere was on point. The chef even let me video him cutting up a tuna. The overall experience was pleasant. Definitely recommended.

Yonsei is a new personal favorite of mines and I'm so happy that it's like 8 minutes away from us. This might be the best place for sushi in Colorado (even better than some places in Cali). Prices are reasonable and the fish tastes fresh. You do not need to pay an arm and a leg for sushi in Colorado. If you're from Denver, this is worth a drive. This is truly a hole in the wall. First off, I love the whole samurai theme from the decor to the name of the rolls. Second, the staff is fantastic. They're so sweet and attentive. The sushi was fantastic. Each roll felt like butter and melted in your mouth. The unagi was so delicious. The toro was well done. We ordered the ronin and black samurai and they were so tasty. The salmon and hamachi tasted really well together. Truly a sushi wizard. Even something as simple as the spicy tuna roll was phenomenal. The mussels were drool worthy with enough cheese and spices. I'm not a big seafood fan so I love it when I can't taste the sea. My partner and I plan to try as much of the menu as possible. This is our go to place for sushi in CO.

Wanted to check out the Sushi scene in Thornton, I was impressed with the 4.9 Yelp rating after 80 reviews. First off, if I could give 3.5 stars that would be my preference but unfortunately Yelp does not allow half star increments. The restaurant itself is fine, the staff are friendly, the interiors is very clean and relaxing, and the prices are solid. Why the 3 star rating then? My wife ordered the chirashi bowl and I went with a variety of nigiri orders. The slices of fish were very generous so thumbs up there. The quality though was where I had to knock it down a bit. The fish itself was not premium sushi grade in my opinion. The uni wasn't high grade or really fresh. The tail section of the ama ebi was..shrimpy in flavor. Premium sweet shrimp should be briny and sweet, not shrimpy in taste. The heads though were fried perfectly. The Nice drink menu and we found a great sake to share. The Unagi Eel was good, and the scallop mayo was nice. Overall it was okay, the prices were great, the portions were generous, and maybe we will try cooked dishes next time. I do want to support them and try again.

20260207 table two around 7pm While living in Japan for 3 years and then moving back to the states I've been trying to find a place and that fresh sushi and tasted amazing. And this right here was by far the best sushi spot I had in a while. The food was amazing the staff were friendly. My only criticism would be having booster seats and a kids menu. That is all. I will be coming back here. PSA have a reservation this place gets packed

I was impressed. The sashimi was especially fantastic! All of the rolls were good. This place and Hana Matsuri are my two favorite places to get sushi in the area. The place itself is small, I like the decorations and overall vibe. It's kind of hipster, with the decor, reggae music and cost. You can tell the people who work there care about your experience. The food came out well spread out, so you continuously eat. Our waitress was nice and always had a smile. I will be back & I definitely recommend you try it. Happy eating!!

WAY overpriced & barely any food. Apparently their Bento Boxes "used" to be $14 & are now $18-$20. I still decided to give them a shot. Food was mediocre if anything. Shrimp tempura & miso soup were not that great at all. Didn't even eat the soup it was so bad. I give this place a HARD PASS.

The food quality was superb. And the portions were substantial and exceeded the value for the money. The service was fantastic. Everyone was very attentive and our food arrived in a timely manner. This place is small, but clean, comfortable, and not loud, even when full. We will definitely go back!

Omg everything was delicious the chu-toro was melt in your mouth. All the rolls had so much fish in them and also the fish was the freshest I've ever had in colorado and maybe even east coast? Service was friendly and non invasive. And the atmosphere was great i think they partnered with an artist: tokyo hiro? For their logos and storefront design. All in all best sushi in colorado hands down.

Hands down the best sushi I've had in Colorado. I was craving sushi and tempura while out running errands, so I turned to Yelp. Luckily, Yonsei was less than 5 minutes away, so we thought we'd check it out. So glad we did! Let's start with the sushi - wow! The salmon and tuna were amazing, the specialty rolls had ingredients that complimented each other perfectly (and it didn't feel like these rolls were packed with stuff just because), and each roll had just the right amount of rice. All the rolls were good, but I particularly liked the salmon avocado roll and the Shogun roll. I also appreciated that there we lunch specials on Saturday. I went with the Huli Huli Chicken Bento. The bento box had so much for the price. The shrimp and vegetable tempura was light and crunchy (not overly breaded, which was fantastic, the chicken was super tasty, and the soup/salad rounded off the meal perfectly (bonus points for the 4 pieces of California roll too). Everything was so good and appropriately priced, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and the vibes were good. So excited to come back and try out more!

This is a rather difficult review to write. A friend I hit this bar twice a week on average. Once…read moreduring the week, and sometimes on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If we plan to have more then 2 drinks, we prefer to be within a few blocks of "home", and the Silver Bullet is convenient in that respect. We both moved to Thornton earlier this year, from different parts of New England. And we are both older adults who don't really enjoy loud and contemporary music. After visiting Joe Polooka's a few times we tried the Silver Bullet and haven't been back to Joe's. We also hit The Glenn on regular basis, but though we really dig The Glenn, the level of music inside after 8 pm is just too loud for us to be comfortable. Anyways, about Silver Bullet Saloon. First, no food. Unless you count the horrible nachos with fake cheese. Eww. Drinks are sometimes inconsistent based on the night's bartender, but they do have frequent specials of all types. Beer selection is basic, but cheap, and so are the well drinks. Silver Bullet has different happy hours based on any number of different events (weekends, happy hour, sports games, etc.) Just beware that depending on your bartender, happy hour well drinks can be weaker then normal. Because we go there so often, and always sit at the bar, the usual bartenders know us and treat us pretty well. A lot of regulars hit this place, and we have actually had real conversations with several patrons. The mix of patrons skews older, but is pretty random any night you might visit. If you sit at the bar, it's pretty likely someone will chat you up if they recognize you from previous visits. On weekdays, music is through the jukebox, and if you like "alternative music" you will be out of luck. Saturdays and Sundays a DJ plays a mix of music and will play just about anything you ask for, if he has it. Generally older rock, some country, and a touch of hip-hop is on the box. And, at the risk of bringing a bunch of freeloaders into Silver Bullet on weekdays, the pool tables are free Monday through Thursday if your order a couple of drinks. All night. If you like pool and don't mind an older crowd, this might be your place. Ambiance is minimal. Lot's of TV's, and it can get noisy/crowded on big sports game nights. Typical weekend nights are more laid back and the DJ adds some flavor to the music mix. The primary Bartender is female and loud and takes some getting used to. The weekday bartenders are also female but not nearly as interesting. They just hired somebody new to help with the weekend crowd, and she's nice enough but not yet really settled in. I gave the Silver Bullet Saloon only 3 stars because: - The ambiance is nothing to write home about - The consistency of drinks isn't always a given - Weekend nights can be somewhat crowded until about 11 pm - It's a small place with limited seating that I would consider "comfortable"

Is it clean? No. Is the service good? Also no. Is there food? Yes, but maybe don't, and you'll see…read morewhy 3 seconds into being inside. The staff is terrible here. The bartender was clueless and rude, and I'm not sure if she was on something, like meth, but she damn near started a fight with a couple people, and I mean instigating a problem as a third party. I'm not sure of her name but she made sure myself, or anybody in my party will be back. This is by far the dirtiest, lowest bar in the area. Colfax has more decent places, I have no idea how this place is still in business when there's a few other bars within walking distance that are priced the same, and they care about who they hire. Like cleaning staff.

No happy hour food and the portion is a little smaller than I remembered but the food was so tasty and the service was top notch. We came in on a Friday afternoon and was served by Jennai, Walter, and Majic! All three were so so amazing and attentive. Jennai recommended so many tasty things we cannot refuse - except for goat cheese - not her fault but my own. We had a couple bottles and a couple food options. I highly highly recommend their happy hour, can't beat a $6 glass of wine or $24 a bottle! Anywho, come check them out, food is yum, music is great, service is top notch and the pricing is on point. Mimosas and Bloody Marys were both decent, nothing spectacular, which was fine. We ordered 4 Bruschetta Boards, a Classic Remix, a What The French, a Kids Grilled Cheese, and a Kids "Picnic". All meals were excellent, served hot, and of a perfect size. Everything was consumed at the restaurant. The Classic Remix consisted of scrambled eggs, homemade tater tots, and sausage. The tots were crispy and the sausage was mild. The What the French was torn up pieces of French toast covered with a honey based sauce. The Bruschetta Boards provided a full assortment of the items offered. The favorite was the Sweet & Spicy Pepper Jam & Goat Cheese. The kids enjoyed their meals as well. The Picnic is nice as it's just sliced chicken, grapes, and apples. They ate it all! We finished with two orders of Donut Dots which is donut holes that are deep fried a little longer to make them a little crispy in a good way. Dipping sauces are provide; chocolate, vanilla, and carmel. Great service was provided by Aleia and supported by other staff members. A return trip is definitely needed.
