What a brunch lovers gem! Fresh flowers and plants adorned the restaurant. We were lucky enough to get a last minute table for 5 people without a reservation. Lots of unique, fun and local treats at the front - great to go or for a fun local gift! I had a salmon bowl and it was delicious. Our group all cleaned their plates, the food was fresh and delicious and came out fast. We were able to choose from breakfast and lunch selections. They have fun coffee syrups, I enjoyed a coconut latte! Service and staff were lovely too! Highly recommend if you are in the area. Parking on the street was pretty easy too!

Seems that everything on their menu has this "healthy" vibe to it which I appreciated. Had the breakfast quinoa bowl which had a lot of components but overall lacked flavor. I get the clean ingredients and minimalistic dish but there needs to be some sort of seasoning. The quinoa had some chimichurri mixed in but that was about all the sauce or flavor the dish had.

Stopped in after visiting a friend's pottery show. Ambiance is bistro/cafe style. It was hot so we sat inside. Service was prompt and friendly. Some inter choices for food and it was tasty. I would go back if in the area.

Chicken angel hair pasta

This will be my second time dining here. I liked it so much. The first time that I came back. They have ample parking spaces and the ambience is a really nice touch with the tent outside and chandeliers. However, I did have the chicken with the Angel hair pasta and the noodles were weird and it was soupy so I didn't understand that, it did not taste like Angel hair at all but other than that, it was pretty good. Our server was very nice and very attentive however, there was lots of bees out there so my friend ordered a Prosecco and the bee was inside the glass and they didn't see it and when they took a sip the bee stung their lip. Other than that, everything is great.

Dram Lavender and Lemon Balm sparkling water

Met fellow yelper Philip N. here for lunch. Neither of us knew they took reservations for lunch, so we were walk-ins a d sat in the heated tent outside. I think I actually preferred that! They had it so toasty and provided blankets as well. There were so many good looking choices for food, but I ended up getting the buddha bowl. It was just perfect. Lots of veggies, tofu, and pesto sauce was so flavorful. I also got a Dram sparkling water and I have to find where I can get that in a store. Would easily be my new favorite sparkling water. Service was also quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend a stop here!

All the tables had gorgeous fresh flowers

What a lovely perfect brunch on a gorgeous, lush patio on a perfect summer day! All of the tables had different fresh flowers on them. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla and it was enough for two meals! I asked if they had plant based meat substitutes and they didn't but they substituted avocado, which made me very happy. I hate paying for meat when I've asked to leave it off, and avocados seem like it similarly priced item. DH had the special of the day which was ricotta on toast and didn't have nearly as much food so he ended up helping me and I still brought half of it home! He had the lavender lemonade, but we couldn't taste the lavender. I had the grapefruit tonic, which was delicious if a bit overpriced. We also ordered the gold potatoes which we really wished were more crispy. I think if they deep-fried them they would be really delicious. But none of these things made our experience pale, so giving five stars. We will definitely be back.

Roasted beet bowl

Great local neighborhood restaurant for breakfast or lunch! Menu options include something for everyone. We dined after 1 and breakfast was still available. Our choices were burgers and tots, beet salad, a roasted beet bowl and a baked desert to go. All of the food was well prepared, attractive and very tasty. Generous portion sizes left everyone with extra to take home. Service was helpful, fast and friendly. Seating and decor were fun and helped maintain the neighborhood feel. There is a large, comfy, heated tent out the back door that more than doubles seating capacity. It was being decorated in a ski chalet theme the day we were there, it would be fun to go back to see the result. Parking and access were easy. Definitely a place to give a try for good food and fun.

shakshuka

Went here for a brunch with a large group on the patio and they did a great job accommodating us! It was very loud so just a heads up if you are looking for a quieter place. The food was amazing! I had the shakshuka and it didn't disappoint! Everyone seemed very happy with their dish! I will say the splitting of the bill at the end seemed stressful and we did let the waitress know who's splitting what in the beginning. Would have been nice if they told us up from plaiting is hard with a larger group or told us how we can help make it easier on them. Not a bad thing just felt very disorganized and took over a half hour for bills to come out due to confusion.

First time here. We were in the area for a bike ride along the Minnehaha Parkway and met some friends for lunch. Didn't really get to see much of the inside since we got a table behind the restaurant under the tent. It was a nice day to be outside. A little windy and chilly, but not an issue if you had a jacket. The place was busy, and at times people were waiting to get seated. We had a 12:45 reservation and got seated right away. We were given waters and menus, and we were so busy talking that the server had to come back several times before we made our decisions (thanks for the patience!). Our group ended up ordering the Poke Bowl, Avocado Toast with Fried Eggs, Teriyaki Salmon Bowl, and Blackened Salmon with Dilly Ranch. It didn't take long for the food to come out (though we wouldn't have noticed since we were still talking). Everything was the right temperature, nicely presented, and good portions. Everyone was really happy with their choices -- except for mine. The salad part was good, but the Blackened Salmon was overcooked and dried out. It had good flavor, just cooked too long. Overall, a decent experience. I'd be interested in dining inside the building next time. The service the entire time was very attentive. But I'd definitely stay away from the Blackened Salmon.

My friends and I wanted to kill some time and get a late lunch before our flight and I found this charming spot. Plenty of outdoor seating, which was tented. It all felt very cozy and relaxing. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive and provided my little 10lb dog a big bowl of water. We weren't super hungry so we shared the local goat cheese with figs, prosciutto, pistachio, honey & garlic crostini and the summer vegetable sautee with garlic butter and parm. Even though both appetizers were a little on the pricey side, it was really delicious and gourmet! The vegetables were cooked and seasoned to perfection and the goat cheese combined with micro greens and sweetness from the fig and honey was a party in my mouth. We also got extra slices of crostini which was much appreciated. I also got a cappuccino and a Budapest muffin with sour cream frosting. Coffee and a sweet treat always hits the spot! So glad we stumbled upon this place and perfect that it's just a 10 minute drive from the airport. Would love to come back again next time I'm in town to try their teriyaki salmon bowl!

I've wanted to try this place for a while now. Multiple friends rave about the food here. Today I went with my friend to catch up. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and a raspberry lemonade. The lemonade was so fresh and tasty. The buffalo chicken sandwich was also very tasty and flavorful. Our server was attentive and helpful. We sat outside in the heated tent. It was so comfy, cozy and cute. Can't wait to try more from their menu in the future!

Salmon Bowl

Love the atmosphere. The service was outstanding, the severs are soooo nice. And foods - I think the portion is perfect, taste was great. My salmon BLT feel little dry, a bit more sauce would be better. Fries are the best of all. It's so crispy and tasty. Love it.

Came here on Pride to grab a post / pre celebration brunch and oh my gosh.. it did NOT DISAPPOINT! We had a reservation for 5 and upon arrival, it was all set and ready to go, a perfect table right up at the front and by the window. Our waitress was absolutely incredible, rolled with all of our crazy orders (we ordered TONS of drinks) and she came promptly with all of them and was so sweet and kind to us! I got the bloody mary with sake and oh my gosh.. I drank like 3 of them. So good, so light, fresh, and delicious! I ordered the salmon bowl (made my salmon blackened) and oh my goodness.. all of the ingredients were fresh, perfectly cooked, light, and above all, quality! We ended up thanking the manager and she was so kind and courteous to us (we were a rowdy yet fun) table! When I get brunch, this is what I want my experience to be every single time! Amazing ambiance, food, drinks, and company! Will be back here!

Small but nice bar. Decent wine selection

The best way I can describe it: it feels like eating breakfast inside the coolest thrift store you've ever stumbled into -- except somehow everything in it is something you wish you owned. Funky, nostalgic, colorful, a little weird in all the right ways. There's something cool to look at everywhere you turn, the food absolutely delivers, and nobody's trying too hard. The place just has soul. Hot Plate is groovy as hell.

Came here because of all the amazing reviews and the photos of the inside are so cute, yet everything was mediocre. Coffee - bad Chai latte - not good Food - mediocre, bland Service - blah and slow Decor - quaint, quirky and cute, really the only reason for the extra star Additionally, I ordered a dirty chai latte with 2 shots of espresso. He charged me the $6.50 for the latte listed on the menu, then $1.50 for one "Xtra Espresso Shot," then $4.00 for an "Espresso." When I questioned it, he brought the menu and tried to say it's $4.00 for an espresso so he was being nice by not charging $8.00 for the 2 add shots... BRO, you have a button ON THE REGISTER for "Xtra Espresso Shot" for a reason. You hit it twice for 2 add shots on the latte I'm already paying for. $3.00 for 2 add shots on a latte is reasonable, $5.50 is insane. Should have been $9.50 for a double dirty chai latte, he charged me $12.00 and thought he was being nice not charging $14.50. And it wasn't even good. Won't be coming back. Disappointed. I shouldn't even be surprised, but I was so shocked I am already writing this review right after we got home. This place is soooo overrated.

Great little local spot in Saint Paul…read more There's a lot to like about Estelle so I'll try to keep it to what stands out: 1. The menu is wonderful, and the food comforting. The peri peri chicken was surprisingly spicy. I like spicy foods and it was teetering on a bit too hot for me, but I enjoyed the flavors and the dishes as a whole that we sampled. 2. The cocktails are divine. I had two old fashioneds and they were amongst some of the best I've had. 3. The service is impeccable. Friendly, well paced, and professional. 4. The ambiance is really comfortable. I liked that we weren't rushed, and had a really well paced meal in a nice environment. Overall I'd love to return someday. Here's a rundown of our amazing meal: Starters: The Kanpachi CRUDO, POMMES DAUPHINES (with amazing gruyère dipping sauce) and Chilled GREEN GAZPACHO (they split this for us since it's a soup) were all fantastic. Entrees: The Walleye was great and we really enjoyed the AMERICAN WAGYU STEAK butchers cut. They all had great and unique flavors. Desserts: The server recommended the peach cobbler and we received a delicious complimentary sundae since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Cocktails: I really enjoyed the Paper Plane since I like tequila and my husband liked his Old Fashion. The Spritz was also refreshing. The server did a great job pacing everything, and was knowledgeable with the menu and the waitstaff was polite and attentive. We reserved a table outside since it was a nice summer day and enjoyed our little spot along the restaurant. Other tips: We found free parking in the lot at the building at 5:00. Make reservations several weeks in advance if you want a table since this place is super popular. The location used to be the Revival restaurant if you are familiar with the area or the previous restaurant. We would definitely dine here again and it's one of my favorite restaurants now. However, Bûcheron, located in Kingfield, one of the most down-to-earth neighborhoods in Minneapolis, deserved all its accolades. We grabbed two seats at the small bar, and I was immediately wary. The woman behind the bar, while professional, was ice cold. She warmed up later, but what registered from her affect was that we weren't worthy of dining in this esteemed restaurant. It was off-putting, but she was friendlier later in the evening. I'm old, so that might be it too. Many younger people in the Twin Cities don't like old men. Bûcheron's space is small and homey, tying in well with the Kingfield neighborhood. It's cozy and unpretentious. I liked that. The food was scrumptious. Everything tasted wonderfully, and there wasn't even one miss. The menu changes constantly, so listing the dishes might be moot. However, the Pomme Dauphines, gazpacho soup, halibut, and sticky toffee cake made us sigh with pleasure. On a Monday night, the place was packed, but it empties early. That's typical in the Twin Cities. Late dining is not in vogue. However, Bûcheron is popular, so make reservations early. For the 12 months that we have lived in the Twin Cities, Bûcheron and Myrial provided our best meals. Bravo and Brava! Both were priced fairly, providing bang for your buck. I don't need cheap, but I yearn for great. Bûcheron provided great.

They were fresh, light, and had an excellent texture. Everything else was pretty disappointing. The broccoli and cheese soup was bland, and the broccoli seemed more grated than chopped, giving it an odd texture. The prime rib was nothing special and lacked the flavor and tenderness you'd expect from a supper club. The twice-baked potato was dry and didn't add much to the meal. The Wisconsin Old Fashioned was another letdown. I ordered it sweet, but it was surprisingly bitter and not enjoyable. As someone who's had plenty of Wisconsin Old Fashioneds, I'd give this one about a 4 out of 10. It also didn't help that the dining room was extremely hot on a warm summer day. It was uncomfortable enough that it took away from the overall experience, and it didn't seem like the air conditioning was keeping up. To top it all off, the prices felt much higher than what was delivered. For the quality and portion sizes, the value just wasn't there. I don't mind paying more for a great supper club meal, but this simply didn't justify the cost. Overall I left disappointed. Aside from the excellent popovers, the food, drinks, atmosphere, and value all fell short of expectations.
