Dr. Gartner continually had the patience to spend as much time as necessary with me to ensure that the proper fit and adjustments were accomplished. I now wear my hearing aids twelve hours per day without discomfort. More recently, I've been on a typical six-month follow up schedule for regular maintenance and any needed adjustments. They again state it will be replaced at no cost. So she went to pick it up yesterday and it cost her $500!!!! I was told it would be repaired for free not replaced and we are sorry someone misspoke. Very disappointed now. I recently went their to see if there was some kind of mistake in charging my mom. They explained the policy and why she was charged. I am now fully satisfied with the explanation and changed my review to 4 stars. The manufacturer charges 25% of the cost to replace a lost hearing aid. They were very apologetic and concerned my mom would feel comfortable still going there for service.

She is terrific - and her new office is in a convenient location right near the Wilton campus of Adirondack Community College. I had been one of her patients at The Hearing Shop (Wilton Medical Arts/Saratoga Hospital) and was very disappointed in the hospital when they closed that office depriving me and everyone else of Dr. Solomon's talents. My hearing aids needed service and the hospital would not/could not provide the warrantee service that I had paid for. I went to another audiology office in town - but it was just not the same. I guess I was spoiled and hadn't realized just how good Dr. Solomon is. As luck had it I encountered Dr. Solomon in town while she was doing some work with a local charity and she told me that she was in the process of setting up a new private practice. I'm thrilled because I need to replace my hearing aids soon and there is nobody I'd trust more than Dr. Solomon. If you need help with your hearing or hearing aids - this is the office to call. I don't know what is going on here behind the scenes but it's a cluster on the forefront,…read more I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks in advance notifying them upfront that I had thousands in insurance benefits for hearing aid that needed to be used by the end of the coming month or I'd lose it, I needed hearing aids and knew what I wanted. It took a bit but i got a confirmation and mentioned this again and went online and filled out info and provided my insurance info. Day of appt, still no one has even checked into coverage or benefits to set up order. They assured me they would then. I assumed this was true and went back with the audiologist for a brief screening test. Here's where things really fell apart and went from medical professionalism to used car sales. I was then subjected to a spiel . There was no attempt to match me with the correct product for my unique hearing profile. Or to fit me in one of the brands I know and like and have accessories for... it was all about starkey . When I asked why it was because starkey is owned by their parent company. He didn't have an interest in selling me anything else although my coverage was exceptional and I know it covered these other higher end models and brands in the past.He claimed they are all the same and they may be ll similar quality but they are not all the same technology and he was also not offering the most current models, why not? Dont get me wrong, starkey ( the current model) is as good for many folks, but its a personal thing and it matters, and its not best for me, and I dont need the 2022 technology when my insurance covers 2025. When challenged , it was all about the spiel and the sell and the story . He explained that he had chosen a model of starkey for me no testing of the units, no try on, no trial day or two, this is it, he'll look into the insurance and order these or a leader model " depending" . I was patient and figured I'd try but warned him that at this point, my insurance ends in 10 days so will I be able to try these out before then? Well no, we don't have anything for you to try. But we will look into insurance. ? Of course , they are working on that. A week passes and I call, no one has looked into insurance, my policy benefit has just 3 more days . Fast forward 3 weeks, the "starkey salesman " who did my hearing test calls to tell me that I don't have that benefit with that insurance. Correct, not anymore. They cost me thousands and no explanation or apologies, just rationalization and lies. It was unprofessional and scammy. I don't get it. They had an easy sale . I was even willing to buy their Starkeys.

I hadn't heard of them either, even though my wife was shouting at me to go and see them (not because she's angry, but because she thinks I can't hear [she might have been angry, but I didn't hear any anger in her voice, so maybe I'm off the hook?]). Turns out, they provide a free hearing test to see if you qualify for their services. I was hoping for a better price, like some kind of situation where I get paid, but this was the best offer I found. The next best offer was where I paid $56 dollars, but most care specialists were wanting a payment in the hundreds. The place was nice, a guy named Shane took me through the steps, explained everything that they were going to do, explained what Miracle Ear specializes in (hearing-aids only), and then gave me the free test. Turns out, I can hear just fine, I'm just a bad husband who doesn't listen to his wife. She deserves much better. That was that. Shane didn't try to sell me anything, didn't guilt me into buying something I didn't need, and he seemed thrilled to help someone out with their hearing. He told me to let everyone know that most people wait way too late to have a hearing test, so I should get the word out to everyone that they should come on down to Miracle Ear and get a free hearing test to make sure that their ears are fine and to stop any hearing damage if things are not fine. Shane likes to help people, and folks don't think about their hearing until it's too late, which is why they have this free offer for a hearing test. Unfortunately for Shane, I didn't listen to that part about telling everyone I knew, but I did let Yelp know. Most people I know aren't worth a hill of beans, but I've never met a Yelper I didn't like. Take care of your ears, Yelp. Come on down to Miracle Ear. (I realize I haven't really used their main service of getting hearing aids from them, but the average age of their client base is like 100, and they aren't likely to be picking up a yelp hobby, so you're stuck with me. The free hearing test should be enough to get your foot in the door.)
