She is terrific - and her new office is in a convenient location right near the Wilton campus of Adirondack Community College. I had been one of her patients at The Hearing Shop (Wilton Medical Arts/Saratoga Hospital) and was very disappointed in the hospital when they closed that office depriving me and everyone else of Dr. Solomon's talents. My hearing aids needed service and the hospital would not/could not provide the warrantee service that I had paid for. I went to another audiology office in town - but it was just not the same. I guess I was spoiled and hadn't realized just how good Dr. Solomon is. As luck had it I encountered Dr. Solomon in town while she was doing some work with a local charity and she told me that she was in the process of setting up a new private practice. I'm thrilled because I need to replace my hearing aids soon and there is nobody I'd trust more than Dr. Solomon. If you need help with your hearing or hearing aids - this is the office to call. Kathryn Loret was friendly but didn't provide much info. she isn't my main audiologist. She didn't suggest any options, etc. She just tested my hearing. PA Kelly wasn't respectful to my needs. Prior to this appointment I talked to my audiologist and Lauren about the BiCros. When I saw PA Kelly i mentioned this and she said no that's not an option for you since your hearing is too bad in the one ear. I then had to follow up with Lauren who told me it was. No PA, audiologist or Dr. should only suggest a cochlear implant if there's other options. Getting a cochlear is a life changing experience.

The hearing aids themselves are about as good as you can do with the level of hearing loss that I have, but like all of them, are imperfect. Service at this office has been pretty good, but likewise imperfect. If there any men on the staff, I've never seen them. It appears to be an all-female office--just fine with me. One issue is that they have changed the audiologist I see without warning or prior notice a couple of times. (This also was an issue at another practice I used before, and frankly, I don't get it.) I now have seen the same audiologist there for about two years, and she's fine, and they seem to have addressed this issue.

Someone picked up the phone and disconnected the call, so I called back and the phone rang and rang and rang and then the call dropped. I tried a couple other times and the same thing happened. I tried Saratoga and the phone was consistently busy. I got on website with chat and representative said she would have someone contact me and of course that hasn't happened. I drove to Albany office from Latham which took about 40 minutes and told the receptionist what happened. She told me Castleton is closed rest of week. She said if I had left message she would have called me back. I reiterated calls were being dropped in her office. I was never given chance to leave message. I certainly didn't drive all the way over there because it was fun. She couldn't get me in today but gave me 8am appointment. I don't know what is going on with Madison Saratoga but I won't be buying any more hearing aids from them. Thanks for the response from the Office Manager, but when you see Customer Review Ratings of 1.63/5 on the Better Business Bureau for Madison Saratoga aka Hearing Life, then it looks as though many, many people, specifically customers, are struggling with respect for the company, apparently not just me. But, I do think it is The Hearing Aid business in general that is unregulated that is the problem. They also deal with the elderly, though not always, the hearing impaired and the marginalized due to their disability. Or in other words-the vulnerable.

I hadn't heard of them either, even though my wife was shouting at me to go and see them (not because she's angry, but because she thinks I can't hear [she might have been angry, but I didn't hear any anger in her voice, so maybe I'm off the hook?]). Turns out, they provide a free hearing test to see if you qualify for their services. I was hoping for a better price, like some kind of situation where I get paid, but this was the best offer I found. The next best offer was where I paid $56 dollars, but most care specialists were wanting a payment in the hundreds. The place was nice, a guy named Shane took me through the steps, explained everything that they were going to do, explained what Miracle Ear specializes in (hearing-aids only), and then gave me the free test. Turns out, I can hear just fine, I'm just a bad husband who doesn't listen to his wife. She deserves much better. That was that. Shane didn't try to sell me anything, didn't guilt me into buying something I didn't need, and he seemed thrilled to help someone out with their hearing. He told me to let everyone know that most people wait way too late to have a hearing test, so I should get the word out to everyone that they should come on down to Miracle Ear and get a free hearing test to make sure that their ears are fine and to stop any hearing damage if things are not fine. Shane likes to help people, and folks don't think about their hearing until it's too late, which is why they have this free offer for a hearing test. Unfortunately for Shane, I didn't listen to that part about telling everyone I knew, but I did let Yelp know. Most people I know aren't worth a hill of beans, but I've never met a Yelper I didn't like. Take care of your ears, Yelp. Come on down to Miracle Ear. (I realize I haven't really used their main service of getting hearing aids from them, but the average age of their client base is like 100, and they aren't likely to be picking up a yelp hobby, so you're stuck with me. Dr. Gartner continually had the patience to spend as much time as necessary with me to ensure that the proper fit and adjustments were accomplished. I now wear my hearing aids twelve hours per day without discomfort. More recently, I've been on a typical six-month follow up schedule for regular maintenance and any needed adjustments. What's great about this place is they have early-morning walk-in hours, making it perfect for working stiffs like me who don't want to take off work for a doctor's appointment. They're also really good about fitting me in for an appointment quickly. They're also respectful and understanding. This place is affiliated with Albany Medical College, so they often have student observers. However, they're very good about not forcing that on you if you're not comfortable with it. For instance, when they asked me if a male student could observe my last gynecological exam, I wasn't having it. And that was fine.
