This place has very tasting and satisfying foods many different sandwiches to pick from and also garden salads. I highly rector chicken or turkey pesto sandwich it is very fulfilling I like to also get a shake on the side many great options and some good protein sources if your not into that you can always enjoy a great tasting juice the have to offer with adding your own amount of syrup on the side. I came to enjoy this place very much haven't gone lately due to me being vegetarian so not much options for me with a tasty sandwich selection. The food was very tasty, as I got the Sun Dried Tomato Turkey sandwich with the simple salad as my side. It was huge for $8 and very filling. With it a drink it came out to about $10, but I figured I'd pay that anywhere else i'd go for a sandwich and side. The turkey was tasty and the bread it came on was very soft. I enjoyed the avocado and sun dried spread. I didn't feel too full after and left feeling satisfied. You order up front and they'll serve you or call your name when it is ready. They have a ton of options to choose from; salads, wraps, cold sandwiches, paninis and vegetarian options (those are a few cents higher). They offer different teas and assorted sodas and juices. I frequent Something Healthy a lot. It is my go-to place after visiting the med spa. I love the concept- healthy, delicious, affordable food. The problem is that it is sometimes hit or miss. For example, I once got the House Salad. It had grapes and strawberries, feta, and nuts. Delicious! The next time I ordered it, I got melon, feta, and nuts on there. I am not a big melon fan so I asked why my fruit was different from the last time. They explained that they just put whatever fruit they have on there. So now I have to remember to ask every single time I am there what fruit they have so I don't experience another sneaky melon attack. Also, some of the workers are simply better at putting sandwiches together than others. I have to look and see who is behind the counter and base my order on that. If I could give this place more stars I would! My boyfriend and I went in for the first time tonight and had nothing short of an amazing experience. The food was phenomenal, the smoothie was delicious and the staff went above and beyond. They even threw in a few freebies for us. I convinced my boyfriend to go for dinner after reading amazing reviews and I was not disappointed. We're already planning our next visit back. I had the italiano with chicken and a side caesar and he had the all fruit smoothie. He's a vegetarian and he ended up pulling all the chicken off and devouring half of my food. Overall, 'Something Healthy' is subpar. What's good about the food is that they have great pricing and good portion sizes (not too much, and not too little). However, 'Something Healthy' doesn't exactly taste like something that IS healthy. The turkey, specifically, tastes as if it were pressed and packed in cheap plastic right out of Ralphs instead of fresh, flavorful cuts like you might find in Whole Foods. The sauces are worse. The "sun-dried tomato paste" looked like 'mayonnaise with an occasional red, square, cube." It tasted just as bad as it looked. I doubt they even used sun-dried tomatoes because there was a definite lack of sweetness to the whole thing that might've actually been a nice twist to the sandwich. I would praise them more for their vegetables (maybe they should switch to a vegetarian food shop) because their butter lettuce was good and I absolutely LOVED the alfalfa sprouts. But don't get too excited, because when you order a sandwich without some particular vegetables (olives, in this case) they may just toss them on there anyway [insert "they got my order wrong!" face of disappointment here]. I will, however, mention the one thing that has never failed from Something Healthy to surprise me...and that would be their delivery times. I often have to order food from City of Hope, and besides the often lost delivery boy, my food is delivered in LIGHTNING FAST time. So if I'm at City of Hope and absolutely STARVING, I know I'll have a questionably healthy sandwich, wrap, or salad in my hands within 15 minutes that I will set aside when I am halfway through and then write a 3-star review about it on Yelp. read more

Came here once and had to come back again! The Vegan/ vegetarian menu is pretty awesome seeing that they offer a variety of sandwiches and wraps. The Caribbean jerk is pretty tasty. It comes with Vegan chicken, beans, hummus, avocado, and more! Its my second time getting it, and ill definitely get it again. The fruit smoothies are fresh and taste great. I was very impressed with this place. It was recommended by a client I was visiting across the street. My colleagues and I only had 45 minutes for lunch. When I approached the door, I was a little worried that this was a complete dive. Not so! I was happy that there was a healthy restaurant since I am challenged when it comes to eating due to health conditions. The inside is small, just a few table and the chairs are quite retro lime green. You order at the counter and they bring it to you. I had the Sun-dried tomato turkey sandwich. I ordered it light on the spread and on wheat. It was excellent! My colleagues had the tuna wrap and the other had the tuna salad. They were both impressed. Reasonable portion size, except for the apples... maybe they're organic apples, but both apples I got were about the size of walnuts. Not a bad option, but I wouldn't go too far out of my way for. I'm not sure about what all the fuss is over the decor. I think the decor makes the place feel cheap and temporary, like a college kids apartment ordered out of an Ikea catalog, plastic chandelier and all!! Stopped by here thanks to a quick Yelp search and snapped up a pesto turkey sandwich to go as an early dinner. For a little under $10, I got a warm sandwich, salad with thousand island dressing and a "blood orange" iced tea. Everything is priced similarly to other kinds of "health-food" cafes...Corner Bakery for example. The ingredients that went into the sandwich tasted fresh, but I'm certain there must be much better tasting other choices on their menu. It was definitely a bit too pedestrian for me and considering how the sandwich was constructed, I was really expecting a bit more flavor. I tried this place today for the first time. I read the reviews the night before and all of the reviews sounded really great so I figured I would give this place a shot today. The name "Something Healthy" rings a bell and I try to eat healthy so why not. I had the Southwest Turkey Wrap, I think that's what it's called. It came with a simple salad as everyone on yelp said. I thought the wrap was good but it had a little too many flavors going on in there for me. The black bean hummus was competing with the sundried tomatos and the chile sauce. From the menu description it said that there would be salsa in the wrap but instead it was more like a chile sauce. When I think of salsa, I think of chunky tomatoes and onions. I was kinda disappointed of the salsa, it had more of an asian flare to it. I also tried the Blood Orange tea, it was good. I got a second refill on my way out of the Blackberry Fruit tea, I liked that one more than the Blood Orange. I would give this place another try but next time I'm going to try a panini. read more

Savory vegan pesto sauce (vegan pesto because there's no Parmesan), vegan chicken has a good texture, but the sourdough bread was a little dry. Oriental salad has a lot more spring mix than your usual salad and the larger sprigs are always more fun to eat. The Asian fusion dressing has a nice sweet and sour kick. Following the favorite of the cashier, I tried out the Caribbean Jerk Panini which was surprisingly good with a spicy, but not too spicy, sauce accompanied by my first time trying mango salsa. The chicken again was carefully prepared and not too salty or tough as many imitation chickens can be. My friend ordered Tomato Basil Soup which was a little bland and runny, but improved with croutons. With no item over $8.15, everything is a great value. The Decor feels reminiscent of a upscale hotel lounge with sexy chandeliers, subtle black marble tables, ivy embossed moldings, flex plastic green chairs with ivy stamped out, and velveteen fleur-de-lis textured wallpaper. I'm a big fan of places that serve delicious and healthy food (you could say it's a delicate balance). I got the pesto salad with tuna, and it was amazingly delicious. I could've ordered it as a wrap, but I was pleased with what I got. The salad was more than reasonably portioned. I was very satisfied with my lunch. I had their cold brew smoothie, which had peanut butter, banana, and whey in it, and that was surprisingly good. The restaraunt itself is small, but has a very comfortable atmosphere. I study here sometimes since it's right by my work. It's aiight. Something funny usually happens. There is a crazy old lady who borrows a stranger's cell phone for 30 minutes or another crazy lady gets free food because the cashier is too busy answering her millions of questions about what's in the protein shakes or what's in their dressings, etc. (At least I'm pretty sure that happened). Stalker, I know. If you get a salad as a side, it's just regular mixed greens. That's probably the only sleight I have against this place. It's not always the freshest. This place is right between the Church's Chicken and the 24 hour gym in Monrovia. The parking lot they have is rather small and narrow, your best bet is to just park at the 24 hour gym and then just walk over. Well anyways, I came here with my brother for lunch because we didn't want to eat something too heavy and unhealthy. We arrived around 12:30 pm and it was packed. There was a long line along the counter all the tables were taken (this place doesn't have too many tables to begin with and also have a few couches around). I ordered a vegan pesto sandwich on wheat (I am not vegan, but do love eating vegetarian and vegan sandwiches though) with a salad (you can choose to have a bag of chips, a small apple or a side salad). My brother ordered the tuna wrap with a salad and an iced tea. We took ours to go since there were no tables available. Just to let you know, you can get a 10% discount with a gym membership. So I showed the girl at the register my 24 hour gym membership and I got my 10% off (even if your membership expired like mine, she didn't know and I still got the discount, total score! lol). When we came home to eat our lunch, we were actually surprised at how good the food tasted (there is a pretty descent offering of sandwiches, wraps and a few entree salads that you can pick from.. .a good thing for lunch). The portion sizes were just right (but I'm sure some people would think this is small... because restaurants generally tend to give large portions that should really be meant for 2 or 3 people eating... but you know how us Americans are.... we want to feel like we got our money's worth....at the cost of our health and waist line). The salad dressing with our salad came on the side (I like that my salad is not swimming in dressing) and the salad given was actually a nice portion. My sandwich (the vegan pesto) was good. The pesto sauce was quite flavorful and the vegan lunch meat they used actually tasted moist and flavorful. (I've tried other vegan meat before and some brands are much better than others let's just say..). My brother enjoyed his tuna wrap (I'm allergic to canned tuna, so I didn't try his). He told me that he thought this meal was filling. He said he would probably come back (he was the 1 who actually wanted to try this place). Now for my additional thoughts: The place is a bit pricey I think because why would I want to spend $8 to $10 for a sandwich meal? I can make my own sandwich for less, plus the salad and dressing. Also the seating is limited, but on the upside, there is free wifi and the wait isn't too long. Would I come here again? one of my favorite spots for lunch and i found it thanks all thanks to yelp!!! unlike my good friend jason s (you can find his review somewhere around here), i think this place is special and the decore is very nice! the sundried turkey is my favorite but everything i've had at this eatery is delicious. the one thing i would criticize about this place is their lack of throughput. they can't seem to make the line move and having worked at a chipotle i understand how to work this format and how to do so quickly. Sure there is more complexity involved in making something healthy's food but i do believe they could be a little faster. i would also jokingly complain that it's hard to invite someone who has never been here before because no one really understands that "something healthy" is the name of the restaurant, not a suggestion of the type of food i want to eat. i come here a couple times a month and hope to see more of these places open up because they definitely trump sandwich shops like subway. oh and p.s. they have the best iced tea i've ever tasted. read more

Great hot paninis and iced tea! This place is relatively close to work and provides a nice portion of food. It's not overly filling like a footlong, and a little more satisfying than a 6 inch, IMHO. I've had the turkey pesto, roast beef melt, and jerk chicken paninis and they were all equally good. BTW, at least times I've been here, they grill the paninis just right, they don't overdo it and burn the bread, just enough brown to look delicious. Each sandwich comes with a green salad(standard mix) or a bag of chips or an apple. They serve 3 different kinds of iced teas! They are all great ice teas and they even give you sugar syrup on the side, like at asian cafes instead of having to stir in sugar and hope that at least half of the sugar melts.
