Every time I've been here the good was great! I've had the Reuben, Roast Beef & Italian. Yummy on thier sweet bread!

This is my favorite HW location, though they're all good. I love that they have veggie ham and turkey options! I can't tell you how much I've craved a ham and cheese sandwich and being vegetarian, hadn't had one in about a year. The veggie ham and veggie turkey options are both excellent! As the other reviewers have said, the service is laid-back, but I don't mind. I'm not there for the service. The employees are super friendly and happy to make recommendations or answer questions. Stopped Sunday at West Jefferson location. Has always been good before Ordered Turkey bacon ranch to split I can normally not finish whole sandwich Server was kind of rude and put off when asked questions about sandwich. Wife and I finished the halves when realized no bacon And my half had very little turkey. Will be reluctant to return to this location again. read more

We order subs on line at least once a week from the Rochester store. Today was not a good day. Usually the subs are juicy, sloppy, packed with the basics plus any extra stuff that is ordered, and absolutely wonderful. I am not sure why he did not put the basics on the subs today. The website states all numbered sub come with the basics, we ordered the number 2 and 5. Glad I ordered a coke, needed to wash down my dry sub. So sad. read more

Just down right good. Portions are great and the bread is sooo soft it melts when you eat it. Super awesome stuff. Can't say anything about delivery but they are well worth the trip and the price. Yes, they cost more then subway but Head West location is so above that level. (Not that I don't enjoy Subway on occasion) I'll add that I don't support the "Seedless" style but who better to know how to make a killer sandwich. ;) BTW, both locations do it right, but I prefer the southwest location. read more

I'm no stranger to subs, and this place is about as good as it get for sandwiches. There are a ton of other sub places in the Springfield area and Head West is by far my favorite. This location in particular has a great setup and service. I usually grab a tuna with the works and toast it, but all of the subs that I've tried here are great. Plus they sell great brownies and Golden Peak tea. Awesome! read more

I had stayed away from ordering from this place for a long while since I've had very poor experiences in the past. Now I know exactly why I did and I will NEVER make that mistake again. I ordered lunch today at 12:00 and was put on hold forever; then when someone finally did come back I had to give my information all over again to a different person than the one that put me on hold. When I finished my order I was told that it would be 45 minutes before it got there as there were 6 orders ahead of mine. I told him that was fine. All I ordered was a grilled cheese, small tomato soup and chips. Total was $15.51! And, then after I waited for 1 1/2 hours it still hadn't arrived so I called them. It came as I was on the phone. Since I don't drive to work I depend on delivery for my lunch. Well that's it for me as I will never fraternize this business again. read more

It's hard to find a good locally-owned sub shop in any town, what with the Jimmy Johns' and Quiznos' and Subways' and such, but Head West has officially nailed it. The atmosphere is really unique, and it's impressive that they carry Odwalla drinks and make their own bread. That bread is really the heart of their sandwiches, but their meats and cheeses are quality too. The toppings selection is very different from other sub shops too, in a good way. I got the roast beef, which was great even though the place was so busy. Be prepared to wait during their lunch hours, but also be prepared for some good sandwiches! read more

We live by the head west sub stop on denver drive in Springfield Illinios, and well twice we've had a bad review for them once they didn't know our address was and they are right around the corner from us, and this time we had them make 3 sandwichesand the one by the time we got home was totally soaked and it was coming thru the paper the sandwich didn't even look good and we asked if they could deliver us another one and the man was really rude , well we have talked to the manager on Jefferson in Springfield and we would rather go all the way across town to them then deal with the other shop on denver so sorry with this bad review but we pay for the sandwiches then they should be the way we want them , Ty read more

Worst online ordering experience ever!! I usually love their food and have ordered often. For the first time I ordered from the Rochester branch for pick up on my way to my sister's home for lunch. I placed my order at 11:45am for pickup at 12:07pm on 11/12/18. I arrived at the store at 12:10pm. I waited in line and when I got the register and asked for my order at 12:15 he hadn't even started it yet. Then I proceeded to wait for him to make it, 3 toasted sandwiches total and a bowl of potato soup that I ordered for a 3 year old. They only had jerk chicken soup left even thought it was posted on the wall, which was not that big of a deal so I switched it out. So now it is 12:40 and only two of the sandwiches were done! At 12:45 I told him to forget about making the last one toasted and just give it to me cold because I couldn't wait any longer. I left at 12:48 and completely used my entire lunch break for an order that was supposed to be a simple pickup! I watched 2 people waiting in line behind me give up and leave during this time as well. I will NEVER use this location again, completely ridiculous. However, the food is really great so I would use another branch location in the future. read more

Nothing bad to say about this place at all. The staff is friendly and the food is amazing. Fresh bread, fully stuffed sandwiches at a great price. The staff is competent and well-trained and able to get you in and out in a reasonable time. Nothing satisfies my munchies better. Keep doing what you're doing! read more

Well, it's the third week they have not provided a menu item "Jerk Chicken Soup". I have been a customer for over 10 years, and visit there business weekly, every Wednesday. I wrote a review last week, and asked for a response, NOTHING. If they are out, then take it off the menu, how hard is that, if your supplier cannot produce, then get another one. But your business is built on what u sell and you are not paying attention. I am very disappointed that management cannot acknowledge a long appreciative customer. read more

The only reason there is two stars is because the food is delicious and i cannot deny that. I tried to call and order over the phone, as i only had a short amount of time for lunch. They ignored my call twice so I Walked over. Upon arrival, i see that there is a baby that everyone is playing with. now, I am not heartless but maybe don't play with a kid when you have a shop full of people waiting. After about 20 mins of me standing and waiting for my food a girl behind the counter said "Can you move"? Move where? I'm waiting for my food. They also did not even make the second sandwich and they acted like i didn't order it even though i had paid for two. I ordered my food over an hour before I was supposed to go to lunch to make sure it would be here on time and the website said it would be 45 minutes for my delivery. Mind you I work 2 minutes away from the headwest on Robbins road. I called an hour after I ordered my food and was told that it would be another 20 to 30 minutes to get my order. I finally decided about 10 minutes later that I really didn't want a soggy cold sub if it had been waiting on the driver to get there so I drove over to pick up my own sub when I got there they still hadn't even started making my sub so I had to wait another 10 minutes after I drove over there to even get my food that at this point I had ordered an hour and 20 minutes before. When I get back to work to eat said sub I ended up having to put my sub in the microwave to heat up the lunch meat because I am pregnant and you are not supposed to eat cold lunch meat while pregnant (I ordered my sub toasted and it was still ice cold in the center and my cheese wasn't even melted. Needless to say this is the worst experience I have had at headwest and you would think after all these issues that they would have been apologetic or offer anything but all they did was take off the delivery fee and make excuses about how they had a big catering order come in. I'm sorry my 10 dollar meal doesn't mean as much to your company as a catering order so I get pushed to the back burner. Well now HEADWEST ON ROBBINS ROAD you have been pushed to my back burner and will longer be receiving my business. read more

I have never tried Head West and I can say I never will. After contacting four locations (each one pushing me to another store) they will NOT deliver. I've hear it is a decent place to eat, but if you advertise delivery and won't deliver to a subdivision it's not in my interest. I'm sure the GM or owner would love to know how much money is being lost on lazy employees. read more

So as a food lover, and one who becomes extremely hangry when I have to wait a long period of time, headwest is sometimes not an option because you guys take 15 minutes to make a sandwich. Would just like to say that as a business, you may want to pick up your phone(instead of holding a baby) so I can place an order, instead of having to come to you, to pick it up. When I walked in to place my order, your attitude was immediate. "get out of the way, people think youre in line" while waiting for the sandwich...yeah youre lucky I was hungry bc I would of thrown it back in your face. read more
