Very happy with the service and the meal. My mom is super picky so they had the perfect small meal, a cup of potato and bacon soup. I got a nice veggie omelet that's half the size of their regular omelets. I'm glad I didn't order a full size caus it I would have been too much food. Glad we got in at 1 caus they close at 2. Always seemed hopping when we went, makes you wonder about the lack of fun breakfast options in the area besides fast food. The days we went there was a seasonal pancake and a special coffee being served as specials. Hello all. Today I decided to let my other half treat me to breakfast. We decided to visit a local non commercial establishment and we we're definitely glad to contribute to a local small business. Let me ask you...have you ever had a breakfast appetizer? Well, today we did. Because we were hungry when we came here and the menu has so much to offer, we ordered a cinnamon roll and coffee to get us started. The cinnamon roll had a cream cheese frosting and was brought to the table warm with a side of butter. Yumm. It was really good. For our main course I ordered the lumber Jack breakfast with sausage and hash browns (no eggs for me please). The lumber Jack comes with eggs for those who like them. The other entree was the Dutch Apple Oatmeal. The oatmeal comes with bagel and cream cheese. The food was warm, plated well and tasty. I gave a rating of 4 stars because I ordered a side of bacon for nearly $4 and it was sheer and thin....crispy and tasty but too thin for my liking. A thick sliced bacon would have rendered a fifth star for sure because I am a bacon lover through and through. Our service was provided by one of the most delightful persons ever. Her name is Michelle and she is very personable, patient and attentive. When we come again we'll definitely be asking to be seated in her area. Michelle delivered our food in a very timely manner and checked in more than once. She covered the area equally and it appeared she left no one out or unattended. So if you come in, be sure to ask for Michelle by name. This was our first visit but certainly will not be our last...but when you come here come early because they close up shop at 2pm. Their hours are 7a-2p and when I say I've driven by on many occasions waiting to catch them open and I failed miserably because it was always afternoon. I was disappointed in the shady business practice of adding a 20% gratuity for a table of eight we had five adults, two infants and one child. I didn't realize that gratuity was included and generously tipped 20% of $100 bill meaning a $40 tip in total. No one pointed out that the gratuity was included. I think for Springfield, this place is ok. The options in Springfield are limited, but it is better than IHOP. I liked the Sir Benedict omlette, my kid's crepes were pretty impressive. I didn't much care for the coffee, and the toast left alot to be desired. My daughter had stuffed french toast and it didn't hold her interest long. The service here seems to be unsure. Our waitress was fine to start, but disappeared for quite a while. The manager was explaining that he was filling in at his father's request, for his brother who had an accident. I laughed a little at this strange interview process, but later wondered if he was up to the job. And then Dad stopped by later to ask how things were. I guess son number 2 needed to have an eye kept on him. It wasn't terrible. Maybe roll the dice and see what you get. read more

I've been to Le Peep 3 or 4 times over the years while visiting friends and family in SPI. This visit was a morning breakfast with friends. I ordered a bacon and cheddar omelet with hash browns and rye toast and it was excellent. I know, I know, I can make that same omelet at home for myself, but their version was really good. Seasoned, buttery, perfectly cooked eggs, cheesy and plenty of bacon. (Sorry, I forgot to take a pic.) I didn't try any of the other food, but all my friends said their food was good too. Chilled and friendly environment. I like the fact that they have a 1L water bottle ready at the table when you get seated. Table was nice and clean. The food took about 15-20 minutes. They were fairly busy for the past hour that they are open. The foods were amazing and I will definitely be coming back! Love the service and the prices are unbeatable compared to IHOP or Denny's. I think that in light of the fact that there aren't many breakfast and brunch options in Springfield, Le Peep is not as bad as the reviews would have you think. It's certainly not a trendy, organic buckwheat pancakes, poetry reciting sort of place, but they do serve your favorite breakfast staples. The inside will remind you of your grandmother's house in the 90's. Most of the complaints from other reviewers seem to revolve around the service, and while I did notice the check came awfully quickly, I didn't feel offended. The Omni omelette was delicious. Quite frankly enough to feed 3 people. The stuffed French toast was delicious although drowned a little by the cream cheese, and I would have preferred it a little more crispy. read more

Stopped here a few weeks ago on a Friday morning and was pleasantly surprised. We had five people in our group all with different orders. Eggs/bacon/hash browns, french toast (picture here looks identical to what we received), pancakes, omelette, and even a sandwich.
