We gutted the entire house: New floors, cabinets, counters, paint, fixtures and replaced a couple windows and painted the outside. Christine helped us with our kitchen cabinet layout by Alice along with two full bathrooms. She also helped us layout the Eclipse master bath vanity. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do and they helped us navigate some design decisions. Supply chain issues caused us to reselect certain fixtures, finishes. and appliances. Jasmine at HB was very patient with us and helped us through finding similar products that were in stock. All communication responsive through text, phone and email. They constantly kept us up to speed regarding schedule and when things would arrive. Being our first home renovation, they also helped us understand the order of the work being performed and let us know when we needed to make decisions regarding rough plumbing and electrical work...etc. The construction crew was accommodating to our request and respectful when the product and floors were nearing finish. I can not recommend this place. I got a shower remodel done by them a little over a year ago and I've had nothing but issues since. First of all, they took nearly 5 weeks to get a shower remodel done. (just a shower, not an entire bathroom). They are not efficient, at all, with their hours. There were days when someone would be here for about 45 minutes, then that was it for the day. The guys that installed the fixtures and doors completely screwed up, drilled 4 holes in the new tile that didn't need to be there, then decided to put grout in the holes to "hide" it. Speaking of grout, they don't know how to match grout colors to save their lives. On a single wall, my grout is anything from solid white to nearly black at the bottom because they mixed too much of something in there. They also installed all the plumbing about 4 inches too deep into the wall. So my 13 inch shower head only comes off the wall 9 inches. Which is annoying, but I was willing to deal with it. Now, my valve fixtures are breaking and it's all because these dingdongs mounted that too far into the wall, too. So the stems that are supposed to make full contact with the knobs barely make any contact at all. Which put too much stress on the back of the knobs, causing them to break. Bottom line, they will quote you a very cheap price because their work is very cheap. Don't do use them. It might look nice up front, but give it a few months and everything starts breaking down. read more

Our bathroom is very small, with a non-rectangular floor plan. Probably because of this, some renovators wouldn't even give us a quote, and others quoted very high fixed-minimum prices. But right from the start, Aidan from HB was the most professional renovator: he was the only one who measured the bathroom during his quote visit. HB's warehouse had a wonderful selection, and Miao was very helpful. The renovation went smoothly despite the tight space and odd angles: a new floor-to-ceiling cabinet in a corner with a 45-degree wall was custom-built. A metal bathtub was replaced with a walk-in shower, without damaging fixtures that didn't need replacing (granite floor tiles, toilet). We've been living in our current residence for over 15 years, and gone through 4 renovations. This was the most pleasant and satisfied experience of all! We got referred by a friend and found HBKB to do some small projects for our house, popcorn ceiling removal, interior painting, laminate flooring installation, and car charger installation. Before that, what I know about them is they are good at fancy kitchens and modern bathrooms. While it turns out they are doing a great job on these works too! We have worked with Wei and his team on four remodeling/addition projects over the past ~15 years: two full bathrooms (one remodel and one addition) and two kitchens. Without hesitation, we would recommend a Five Star rating for each project. The first kitchen and bath project was at a large condominium complex in San Bruno (with many rules, regulations, and limited - and inconveniently far from the Unit - parking). We were so pleased with how smoothly, and quickly, the project was completed...AND Wei was hyper-communicative (status, design and brand/color suggestions, questions, etc) throughout. The kitchen remodel (a few years later) was the same: another great experience in all regards (and the result was a beautifully designed kitchen with granite countertops, oak cabinets and stainless steel appliances). The most recent project, completed earlier this year, was the addition of a new bathroom...during the COVID pandemic. It was challenging in all regards, BUT the result was the same as the kitchen project described above: a beautifully designed corner shower with custom designed glass enclosure (thanks to the expert suggestions and things-to-consider options that were provided). Because of the pandemic, and the challenges associated with "everything", we were more involved in all aspects (working in partnership and/or directly with the building/water inspectors, drafter, structural engineer and plumbers). Wei, Jasmine and his entire on-site team were fantastic - it was a great learning experience during an incredibly challenging time (masks! distancing! City offices closed!). I don't know how this company gets such high reviews. They must pay Yelp to hide negative reviews, but I'm going to post my experience anyways. Like most users on here, I read countless feedback before deciding on which contractors to use for my kitchen remodel. HB Kitchen seemed to have the right blend of customer service and work proficiency. When I called in to schedule an appointment, the lady was not very helpful and only asked that I give my call back number for the project manager. That was the first sign of their indifference to potential clients. After he came by my house to discuss my kitchen renovation he asked that I send my architectural plans so he can give me an accurate quote. While waiting for his response, I decided to go into their office to pick out cabinets hardware stones and flooring. When I walked in, I felt the staff were all pretending to look busy by staring at their computer screen. Not wanting to be a bother, I walked around the showroom which had basically only 2 kitchen layouts. Their cabinets looked dated and felt cheap, and their hardware was straight from the 80's. After 30 minutes I finally decided to tell the staff that I was getting a quote from their project manager so asked that they show me materials that fit my taste. The girl said she was going to lunch but took my email so she could send me the info requested. That email came a week later. The project manager took 3 weeks to respond. After my having to follow up on requesting his quote multiple times, he just said that he is too busy right now and that he was sorry. WTF! If you guys don't want the job tell me upfront rather than pulling me along. I wouldn't have hired you anyway based on my overall experience and your cabinets and stones being retro and cookie cutter. But at least give the courtesy of not wasting my time. Not sure about this establishment. We wanted to order our kitchen cabinets from HB. Provided all the required information and dimensions to our sales person and waited. When we didn't hear anything back after a week we messaged our sales rep. After two weeks of waiting we decided to go with a different company for the cabinets. We finally heard back from our sales person. She was out of the office due to COVID. Ok, we totally understand and sympathize but we had already purchase our cabinets and thought we can purchase other items like floors and countertops through HB. So now we were working with a different person at HB. Sent all the information and dimensions for the counter. Again it's the same silent treatment, so we decided to go in person to get someone to help us to speed up our purchase. We were told that our qoute for the floors and for the counter tops will be emailed no later than Tuesday. We are still waiting, and it's Wednesday evening now. Recently we had a kitchen remodeling project done with HB Kitchen Bath. We chose them after a bit of comparison and discussion with their project manager (PM) Wei. He was very nice and explained the details in prior regarding the project. Since we were pretty new to the remodeling work, Wei helped to clarify a lot of construction doubt for us, e.g how to level the surface, choose a proper size kitchen hood, etc. We were learning a lot during the process with their guidance and suggestions. In addition, the designer Miao we worked with was also very helpful. She helped design and organize the material supply through the process. During the remodeling, one of our material was over sold and the vendor could not deliver on time. Miao helped finding some alternatives in very short time without delaying rest of the project. From the start the office staff Jasmine & Christine were very friendly and welcoming. We visited several times to review the cabinet displays in their nice showroom. They encouraged us to look around with no sales pressure. Aiden came to our home and was very courteous and took measurements for an estimate. Christine then worked with us to put a design in place and listened to our requests and incorporated them into the plans. She kindly answered all questions and it was helpful to actually see examples in the showroom that provided a visual to assist. Project started mid-January 2021 and was completed within 4 weeks. The crews for demo, cabinet install, drywall, electricians, plumbers, all had a lot of experience and were all very hard working. Special shout out to Chuy who was the main cabinet installer and finish worker who did phenomenal work. Aiden our project manager checked in daily and kept us informed of status. Everyone respected COVID protocols which was also appreciated. HB had crews that specialize in specific areas so we felt we were getting the best help for the task at hand. Recently I did a major upgrade project in my new condominium and had HB kitchen bath team complete the entire project. Among the major improvements are building of a feature wall with multiple surface to a 20' ceiling. The wall features a large TV and a fireplace. Our designer provided the design and HB kitchen bath crew executed the build out perfectly with a resulting stunning look. In addition, I had build another designer wall for master bedroom, with upgrades in lighting, ceiling fans, vanity mirrors, closet organizers, and a complete paint job for the entire home. They replaced my large kitchen countertop complete with waterfall edges and a brand new farmhouse sink. I also had to run additional CAT6 for internet access to more locations for entertainment and gaming. The HB team is very professional and they even provided a deep cleaning service after the entire project is completed. The entire project was overseen by owner Wei and he was extremely flexible and quality minded. The foreman for the project did a great job building out the infrastructure to support a high wall and all the electrical upgrades. The cabinet crew built out the very high wall perfectly with my chosen panels and installed 3 organizers for all 3 of my closets. This review is long overdue. Hb finished remodeling our master bathroom about a year ago and everything has been great. We love our bathroom! It took a bit longer than we liked but with covid around it complicated things like everything else. But it was worth it. To mention, it was a pleasure working with our project manager, Aiden. He is very detailed & knowledgeable. Above all, he will always answer questions and respond back to you right away. We've done quite a few home projects and inquired with contractors of all kinds and the biggest turn off for me are those that don't respond within a reasonable time or don't call back at all. In total we did a full gut job, including wall demo with beam install, relocation of plumbing and gas range exhaust for our new kitchen (8/2016) , Gutted out a full bathroom and half bath, and a major refresh of a second full bath, with plumbing moved for every bathroom (11/2016). And most recently installed a Nema 14-50 outlet for our new EV car (1/2017). The remodel was not a small task at all. Richard , The Project Manager at HB was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the start, Richard was always very responsive via text (who doesnt love a texter right?), and even phone calls. The pricing quoted was very fair (Dare I say best in town?), and the actual total for each stage of our remodel was always within reasonable range of the quotes, even with some unexpected items popping up! The office team worked with us on designing our brand new kitchen with 3d Rendering, and made our vision our reality. We already had a somewhat clear idea of what we wanted, but the team sat with us through 2-3 revisions, patiently making the changes that we requested. I even saw some other couples that literally had no idea what they wanted, and even while making complete changes to the drawing, the team still was very patient and the same high quality of service remained. Although I don't recommend going in there with no idea what you want, be assured that you will have the kind positive support needed for making big changes to your kitchen. The construction crew was very polite, and boy do they move fast! A typical work schedule can be from Monday-Saturday. They are very respectful and will ask if they are able to use your restroom for the duration of the construction. There are different crews each with their own specialty, ranging from demo, electrical, casework, plumbing etc, so be prepared to answer this question several times during your remodel. The crew works fast and efficiently, so you can literally see so much progress after each days work is completed. Although remodel zones are typically dusty and messy, the crew does a great job of sweeping, and vacuuming and tidying up work areas every evening to ensure a clean safe working environment. Hb also sells vanities , flooring, back splash and basically everything you need for your remodel. They never pressure you to buy their products, and they are more than happy to pick up any supplies you decide to purchase elsewhere that needs install locally. We ordered our kitchen cabinets and all vanities from HB, The quality is amazing. All the cabinets, drawers ,and vanity are sturdy and have soft close! Yup, no more cabinet and drawer slamming! They also have a showroom that you can check out before you jump in. The best part? If you work Monday- Friday, they are open on Saturdays! We recently completed our complete kitchen makeover with HB Kitchens. HB was recommended by couple of friends. Our cabinets are from an Italian company and were installed by the cabinet contractor, but HB did everything else. I was a little nervous working with two separate contractors but there were zero issues. They worked around each other's schedules and coordinated the dates of the delivery for tiles and Miele's installation. HB additionally took care of all permits. HB gutted my old kitchen, removed old tiles and the 9"inch light soffit. They redid the electrical including outlets for appliances & cabinet lights, new LED ceiling lights, etc. They suggested locations of lights, switches, & outlets. They added new wiring from the main electrical panel (as needed per code) and also for my radiant floor heating. They updated my main panel and also added an outlet for my EV car charging in the garage. HB replaced my kitchen window, installed radiant floor heating, new tiles, and prepared the place for the cabinet contractor. After the cabinet contractor had installed the cabinets, Miele came to install my appliances and HB made sure the electrical and gas lines and water connections were ready for their pre-inspection and subsequent install. They installed my quartz counter top, sink, garbage disposal, instant hot water tank, water filter, and the hood over the cooktop. Wei, one of the owners of HB, advised me on the brand for the sink appliances based on what he used on his own home. They grouted the tiles last to avoid them getting dirty. All their workers were very good - each crew specialized on a different aspect of the kitchen. They were polite, timely, and took pride in their work. During the entire process, they put plastic sheeting as needed to make sure that dust did not go into rest of the house, and also put a special zipped plastic thing for the kitchen entrance so we could still enter the kitchen area to go to family room. We kept our old fridge in the living rom and they put cardboard on the floor to make sure it did not get damaged. Also whenever they left at the end of day they made sure things were left clean and tidy. Wei, one of the owners and the one that gave us the original estimate, visited frequently to see check that everything was going okay. He was also very prompt in responding to SMS and called back promptly to answer questions and discuss dates for next phase etc. I am a handy man with a very good eye for details; HB did everything to my satisfaction (that says a lot). For the countertop, we had picked veined Quartz. I wanted the veins to appear in a particular way for the backsplash and also for the waterfall. HB worked with me on this and I even went with them to the Quartz warehouse to layout the slab cuts with blue tape so that veins were to my satisfaction; in one place there was a misunderstanding in our communication and HB took care of that by ordering a new slab. Wei said, " I do not want you to compromise on the design - it would keep bugging you down the road as you use the kitchen." Every thing was timely. There were some minor delays because of tile delivery, or Miele's appliance delivery/installation, but HB worked with us around these schedules. For example we had not selected our breakfast nook ceiling fan till last week and they came to install that just yesterday, almost 2 months after the rest of the project complete- they did not linger this last part even thought I had paid them over 95% of the fees. While I don't foresee any problems, but if they do arise, I am confident that HB and Wei will standby their work. I felt their prices were competitive and reasonable. PS-1. Both our friends who used HB got their cabinets from HB. We had already selected our European styled cabinets and its manufacturer. I would not hesitate to get the Kitchen Cabinets from HB - they work with several suppliers. PS-2. I can't resist giving feedback on our Miele appliances even though it has nothing to do with HB: Don't get sucked into Miele's marketing. Their dishwashers are not the best (smaller than US/Japanese brands so fitting large sauce pans is a problem); also it does not clean as well as my previous Kenmore, so trust the Consumer reports ratings. When the salesman says "how can a $800 CR rated dishwasher beat a $2000 Miele", tell him that it does. Miele's refrigerator is excellent but other appliances are good to very-good. Miele's look/aesthetics on refrigerator and the oven/microwave is fabulous, which is what my wife wanted. In hindsight, I would get a different brand of dishwasher for sure and perhaps even a different gas cooktop. Because of package deal, we got suckered into getting all Miele rather than follow CR ratings. In conclusion, my experience with HB Kitchens was great - they are very professional and their workmanship is excellent. I highly recommend them! read more

I have been without a master shower for over a year, Aidan was very patient with our schedule and his crew was always on time, they were very polite and courteous. We have been working with HB (Wei) for many years, initially started with 2 beautiful bathroom remodels 9 years ago. Over the years I've used them for other projects such as adding canned lights in the whole house, converting our old pergola to a patio cover with skylights/gutters, and most recently full exterior painting. Due to our HOA requirements they needed samples of the paint colors so Wei made sure that was done and delivered to our door for the HOA panel to review. His crew did an awesome job of prepping, painting, and didn't cut corners. They were also always on time and kept the site clean. I honestly don't think there is anything they won't do, I also recently had a bad plumbing leak in the wall and he sent someone over and repaired it, funny his worker recognized me from my patio project over 7 years ago. I found that he still has the same crew, that speaks volumes that Wei is able to retain them although I'm not really surprised since he likely treats his workers the same as he's always treated us with honesty and respect. You won't believe the total transformation of our kitchen that Richard and his team did. We had to wait for a long time to be on the queue for kitchen remodelling. I am so glad we waited patiently. Richard was very patient and paid attention to what we want done to our kitchen. We have used HB Kitchen and Bath for 5 projects. They installed new cabinets throughout our home. Later they Installed LED low voltage lighting throughout the home. They did the gut and total remodel of a rental unit, including removal of walls and new structural beams, refinished the hardwood floor, new bathrooms and kitchen including cabinets, new fireplace stone, all new LED lighting, and all new plumbing and electrical system. They remodeled and updated the kitchen and 2 bathrooms in a rental, and replaced all windows with dual pane, installed new floors, and a new AC. In another rental house they installed new dual pane windows and a new AC and furnace. In every case we found their office team and construction teams very easy to work with and knowledgeable. The workers worked most the time, always clean up after mess they did. Their price was competitive and fair, and if we ever encountered an issue they were quick to respond. We used HB Kitchen Bath to remodel our kitchen and two bathrooms as they were highly recommended by our neighbor. Our project was completed within 12 weeks. During the process, there were some unexpected issues, but most importantly HB was able to get the issues resolved for us. Aiden, our project manager, responded in a timely manner with answers to our questions and needs. The crew were friendly and started their work on time and kept our jobsite clean. One of the crew members, Mr. Li, is a highly experienced supervisor who shared his knowledge and gave his advice, so we understood the work was done correctly. We had the pleasure of working with Aidan on a project in 2023. We interviewed over 10 contractors for our whole home remodel. While HB's bid price was in the middle of the pack, we felt most drawn to Aidan's responsiveness and attention to detail. We felt he was very knowledgeable and had a knack of explaining things in ways which we could clearly understand. He worked within our budget and was very accommodating to our requests (even last minute ones). His team was very professional, showed up when they said they would, and the job was completed on time. There were a few hiccups along the way, like when the team mistakenly installed our sun tunnels in the wrong places, or when there was miscommunication on wall placements and measurements, but Aidan always went the extra mile to make sure to resolve the issues to the point where we were completely satisfied. Excellent Customer Service. I had a problem with the new cabinet I just bought from H&B Kitchen Bath in Hayward. One of the crew dented the top part of the cabinet. Eva and Jasmine were very helpful. They were both honest to my contractor and suggested an option that will work and will make me happy. They know what my contractor initially suggested will not work so they offered a suggestion.
