Collage of my feast

First time here but most certainly won't be my last, like I have no notes! The restaurant is beautiful, very "country cabin" like. A lot of wood but also chandelier so a nice mix of elegance and grit. I met up with a friend we seated in a HUGE booth near the door. Ty and his trainee Grayson were our servers and I'd like to personally request Ty any and every time I'm there from here on out! The waiter are all dressed normally but in cowboy/cowgirl attire (not the football team) I ordered the elk tacos and fried green tomatoes from the happy hour menu which was from 4-6pm(I think!) as well as a lemondrop martini which was a bit on the warm side so it could've used some ice or a chill, IDK. I also had a frozen margarita which was sour but not in a bad way, however, it could've used a splash of something! Listen the maters were fried but that could've been a lil harder as well as the crust came off as soon as you cut into them. There were four on the plate with some sort of crema and let me just say I was scraping the plate! I put that crema on my tacos as well as they were a lil dry with the dollop of whatever they put on top of them. They also had a lil kick but weren't too spicy, I also appreciated that they were hard tacos very rare but my fave ‼ after all that (by myself) no room for actual food but I did get the Chipotle Chocolate Cake watch was massive, came with a scoop of ice cream. I honestly missed the chipotle part of it, thankfully, Ty warned me beforehand but I didn't encounter any type of since in the cake ‍ Like I said, great meal and great time. I'll be back!

Well okayyy! Went with a group from work and was no disappointed. We drank, we were merry, and we were full. Our server and then bartender because we moved, we're exceptional. Get that reservation, put on something nice, and dine with ease. Recommend but can get loud at times

I went to Haywire for the Cowgirls dinner special with some friends. The meal includes Cesar salad, fries, steak and a drink so I chose a margarita. Everything was perfect in flavor and portion all for 30$. It was a great deal and apparently a great draw because the place was packed on a Thursday night. We had reservations so we were seated and served without much wait. Our server was wonderful and we enjoyed a fun evening full of friendship and wonderful food!

DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER

Very popular restaurant but the service was incredibly slow. We went on a Saturday night and it was so busy. It took forever to get our drinks despite most of us ordering bottled beer and sodas. It also took forever to get our food. Server did not ask how I wanted the double cheeseburger cooked and it came out sort of medium raw and kind of pink. Food was ok but service not good. It's kind of a cowboy type of theme lots of people wearing boots and cowboy hats.

I had the distinct pleasure of attending a retirement luncheon for a wonderful colleague at Haywire. This exceptional establishment remains a personal favorite, consistently standing out as a premier dining destination in the area. It was a delightful experience to step away from the office to celebrate our colleague's career in such a fantastic atmosphere. My entree, the Chipotle Meatloaf paired with green beans, was absolutely exquisite - bread pudding to end was excellent. The service was exemplary, ensuring a thoroughly seamless and memorable celebration.

Came to Haywire with family visiting from Cali! We went for the here for Cowgirls Dinner special for Happy Hour (3-6) and boy was it Happy. The appetizers and desserts were so good, the waiter was fantastic and drinks were fabulous! Even made friends with our table neighbors!!

*Happy Hour Review* Stopped in for the first time recently to the San Antonio location of Haywire...I've previously had an underwhelming brunch experience at the Houston location so I was a little skeptical but Im happy to report this location was a huge step up. Immediately upon walking in I fell in love with the rustic yet elegant decor (those chandeliers tho). My girlfriends and I sat at the bar and enjoyed great service during our entire 3 hour visit there. The cocktail and bites we enjoyed were all delicious. During happy hour there are select cocktail and bites you can enjoy for $7 each. My drink of choice for the evening was the perfectly balanced Berry Smash . I was torn on bites but ended up going with the Happy Hour sliders and the pork belly appetizer from the regular menu. Both were soooo good...particularly the Pork Belly which was a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and savory. This visit redeemed Haywire in my eyes and I'm looking forward to returning during regular hours to explore more of the menu during dinner service.

Cowgirl dinner and QUESO BLANCO
Jolynn R.

The restaurant is beautifully themed. Although, upon first entering one of the hostess girls we interacted with could have been more helpful. We went for the cowgirl dinner which was a $30 special with a 5 oz steak, side of caeser salad, and beef tallow fries. You also had the choice of a drink. The lemon drop is not for the faint of heart (or light weight) and the hibiscus haze was tart. The queso blanco is excellent. Overall, would love to go back and try other items.

This place is not only beautiful, but they food was delicious, the service was great and their dessert...OMG!!! It's definitely a great date night or girls night out place to be!

We were seated right away even though we arrived early, and the service felt warm and welcoming from the start. The Texas-themed setting was cute and comfortable, with a relaxed noise level, and while most of the food was just average, the double pork chop was the clear standout. Remaining pork chop will go into my breakfast taco tomorrow.

My mom, sister and I decided to dine here at Haywire specifically for the cowgirl dinner! All three of us got the same meal and it came with an alcoholic beverage, steak, caesar salad, and fries. Everything was good and we even got the ceviche and Porkbelly bites as appetizers! It is a really nice restaurant with good service!

What a great first meal. Staff seated us quickly, promptly greeted and water in hand in less than 5 min. Wonderful first impression. Ordered an assortment of options. But truly adored and will be back for the hash and orange/cinnamon pancakes. So wonderful and unforgettable. Thanks to our server and the entire staff. We will be returning.

We arrived kind of early for lunch, I think it was around 11:30a on a random weekday. The parking lot was kind of full but I found a space. Make sure to inquire about getting parking validation, as my license plate was recognized by the parking service company even though I didn't get any kind of paper ticket. The menu was clubhouse fare, nothing too fancy, which was fine. We shared a Caesar salad, which they split for us into two bowls. The bowls were high sided like soup bowls. Not ideal but it was fine. I really liked the cornbread croutons, and I'm usually not a crouton eater. For my meal I got a cheeseburger with upgraded sweet potato waffle fries. I think my daughter got a grilled chicken burger, I can't recall. Service was great as we were the only people in the restaurant for a while. Or crazy about the country music pumped right at us, but I guess they think that's the kind of music that should be played for the setting? Overall a decent experience and I'll be back for my next quarterly Surpass credit.

I added an extra patty and upgraded to the jalapeno cheese bun. It normally comes on TX toast which I think would be equally tasty. Not the absolute best burger I have had, but it was solid! I doubt you'd be disappointed, but not sure you would say this is the new heavyweight champ. The onion rings were very good. Sweet potato fries were a little lacking. They came while they were eating their entrees. Here's my real gripe....my mushroom garlic pasta came with a white Alfredo sauce and long noodles. The description on the menu said bow tie pasta in a rich creamy tomato sauce. The 6 shrimp that came with it were good but after I was able to flag our waitress I explained the mistake....she replied it was a typo on the printed menu. I explained that the typo was not my responsibility and since our service was poor I asked for my meal to be discounted. She said she'd ask the powers to be. I only ate 3 of the 6 shrimp which were good. The pasta was bland and the amount of sauce was lacking. My husband liked his chicken tenders and our friends rolled their eyes negatively to their snitzel. (Sp). The bill came and they took $2 off a meal I didn't order. There may be some that will disagree but there are other great restaurants in town. Save your money.
