Still so delicious! The chicken katsu bento box was delicious! It came with rolls, tempura and rice. The scallion pancakes were on point. Not greasy, so crispy and loaded with scallions. We picked the food up and everything had proportioned sauces and the food was delicious. They don't deliver but they are definitely pick-up-worthy. (Or dine in!)

Super impressed with Hayashi Sushi! Definitely the best sushi I have had on the west side. The presentation was gorgeous. Everything was very fresh. They have superior vegetable rolls here for anyone who is into that. The shiitake mushroom role was a bit sweet and salty and definitely one of the tastier ones I've had. Even though the rolls came with 6 pieces, they were stuffed. I took off a star because some of my rolls were not rolled tightly and were coming apart making them harder to eat, but the flavors were so good I'll definitely be making this a regular take out spot.

So on my pandemic-2020 journey through the West Philadelphia restaurant scene for takeout dinner, I discovered a new favorite this past Friday. Now, granted, I'm not a connoisseur of poke, (yet), but the bowl I had for dinner from Hayashi Sushi and Poke was abnormally delicious for what was really just a bowl of seasoned and sauced vegetables and fish. My partner, who got a vegetarian version of such a bowl, was also quite impressed, so an excellent choice for stricter vegetarians as well. I was looking for a dinner option that would be on the lighter side and inclusive of by fresh, raw vegetables. You would automatically think "salad" but I HATE getting salads as my main meal, so I wanted something more substantial. Yelp to the rescue - the reviews for HSP looked promising, and after my first ever poke bowl in LA last winter, I was curious to try more. So glad I did. I did a custom poke bowl, and while I won't go into detail about all the options you get, the standouts were definitely the zucchini noodles and the spicy tuna. I think if I got just a bowl of those "zoodles" and fish, that would have made me perfectly happy on its own. Well, keep the edamame too - I really like edamame. My partner got fried tofu as his protein and white rice as his base. We were both surprised by how filling the seemingly small bowls ended up being. The awesome miso soup (which automatically comes with poke bowls) probably helped with that. Miso soup is another thing I'm relatively new to - I told my partner THIS IS SO GOOD, and his response was, well, yes, but also pretty standard for miso soup, which is always good. It's such a win when trying new foods and styles of cooking and your early attempts happen to be at a fantastic spot. Excited to come back for more delicious poke, and to explore more of the menu too!

very delicious!!!

This restaurant is very delicious and the price is beautiful. Onagi bowl is very good. Recommend

The curbside appeal is deceiving, because once inside you are greeted with a friendly smile, a pleasant, comfortable decor, and an unparalled, culinary experience. This is a delightful discovery in Southwest Philly. It is worth the one hour drive from Perkasie, PA.

Had a sushi craving. Quick search on Yelp - Hayashi Sushi was in the area. Stopped for lunch. Grab and go, eat in the car typa day. Very happy with the rolls I ordered. The miso soup hit the spot. Will definitely be back for more!

I got a bento box for take out and it was sooooo good. Value for money. I didn't expect to have that much food for $20.50. And it was also really quick and the hostess even gave me some pocket chocolate too! Very nice will order again for sure!

Spicy Tuna, California, and Alaska Roll

Great sushi, quick service, and nice employees! Will definitely be ordering from here again

The sushi, while big and fresh looking, didn't really hit all the marks for good rolls for me. There was a sweetness to the salmon and tuna rolls and a fishiness that you don't usually taste in fresh sushi, and the difference between the tuna fish in the tuna avocado and the plain tuna roll was extremely noticeable, with different colors and textures of fish, I've never seen that before. The salmon was tender though, and the place finished my order quickly.

I ordered my usual ramen and two sushi rolls to split with my partner, and ordered through here on yelp through DoorDash. Because of a system issue, my food was ordered twice (after paying it said there was a system error and it couldn't be completed and my cart was still full and after it happened twice I figured something was really wrong.) I had a sense something was weird, and had my partner call ahead to assure there was only ONE order, and otherwise cancel the second immediately, which he did. When I got there there were 2 orders, and the restaurant smilingly said it was already made and wanted to give me both bags. They REFUSED to cancel an order or to talk to DoorDash directly. I insisted on calling DoorDash in the store to make sure I got a refund because I couldn't afford to pay double for my food and risk it (what would be $84 for one bowl of soup and two sushi rolls.) After 45 minutes on the phone, and now cold soup and warm sushi to bring home, I was assured I would get my money back in "a few days." It has now been two months and I have not received a refund. I have been going here for years, and very upset on this lack of oversight on the restaurants part. I think they mostly interact with college students that are passive and they can manipulate. The restaurant said it was my fault because I used the ordering service they provided through yelp like I should have known better not to use it (and again, I've ordered online here many times!) They made my favorite ramen, but the countless hours I have now spent on very expensive cold soup and warm sushi-- I will not return until this is rectified. Other comparable restaurants that make ramen in other areas of the city of the same size will send me a full refund for a drink just for sending me the wrong flavor! it's so loud in the restaurant to even have a conversation or be on the phone to communicate when the issue happened (again college scene and club music.)

Came on a Sunday evening and about half the small restaurant was filled - the space is super cute, with an inviting dark blue color scheme and cute posters and photos of inspirational quotes and dogs. We ordered the Tofu and Eggplant taco and Mushroom and Zucchini taco to start - both were delicious. The mushroom and zucchini one actually had slightly more flavor, but the sauces on both were really tasty with good contrast in flavor, and the veggies were fried just right. For mains I got the Vegan Miso ramen with egg noodles and my husbans got the Vegan Spicy Kimchi ramen with egg noodles. I LOVED my ramen - the broth was deeply savory, the corn added nice pops of sweetness, and I really enjoyed the soy patty - it was chewy and had a great bite. My husband also enjoyed his ramen and said it was one of the best in the city - the kimchi flavor was very different than any ramen I've tried before. Service is good and overall I will definitely come back to Taco & Ramen and maybe try a new item. Yum!

That alone makes it a very cozy spot when getting some ramen to warm up on a cold day. They have a variety of taco and ramen choices, as well as boba tea and other beverages. Tried the tonkatsu ramen: tasty broth, fair amount of noodles, and the pork, egg, and other veg was good. Shrimp tempura taco was tasty and had a nice creamy aioli sauce drizzled on. Both taco and ramen are pretty good, and the atmosphere makes it great. Thanks

literally best vegetarian / vegan sushi in the city…read more okay to start, if your friend/date/family member is vegetarian or vegan, take them here. you both will have options. inside is cozy. service is really thorough and like a well oiled machine. for the vegetarians: The lime sinko roll is a classic avocado cucumber roll with a pickled vegetable layer on top and a thin slice of lime. the roll itself is great, simple, and a classic. my sister really likes the pickled vegetable and lime on top. I however, just peel it off. it's good but I prefer without it. the veggie on fire is what you need: probably their best roll on the menu. it's a cucumber avocado roll with a spicy zucchini sauce on top and crispy fried onions. it's messy. it's spicy. it's delicious. the sauce is orange in color, has tiny slivers of zucchini in it. I was hesitant to try it at first, but it's my favorite roll now. the vegan tuna roll: it's marinated tomato in place of tuna. i've never had fish or tuna, but it definitely tastes a lot more fishy. I guess that's the marinade. texture is kinda slimy? mushy? I feel like this might be the roll for someone who liked the taste of fish but went vegan and wants a replica. Not for me, but well made nonetheless. Appetizers The veggie gyoza: the gyoza itself is green, doesn't taste different to a non green dough, but visually that might matter to some people. sauce they serve on the side is very good. comes with a lot, at least 6 I think. tastes good. I don't recall any mushrooms in it and if there is they are not noticeable as i'm not the biggest fan of mushrooms. The Spring rolls: new to the menu, no meat, interesting? they are more soft inside than expected. not a lot of veggies. tiny. cute little app to share and try. they come with two. no mushrooms. I typically prefer a more veggie heavy and crispy spring roll but i'd order them again! Samosa: currently off the menu I think, but in case they add it back, this was very good. i'd order this over the spring rolls. they were crispier and I think it came with three. Miso Soup: it's a fine little bowl of miso. I typically always order miso at every Japanese restaurant to start my meal. i'm not picky about miso, but I will say, it's not my favorite miso. I still order it every time, just not the absolute best i've had. It has small little tofu chunks and some green leafs which I find are in most misos but I have no idea what they are. small little bowl. perfect to order first. edamame: very good I always order in the beginning and I have a bad habit of also ordering another for dessert. the veggie bun: I don't like mushrooms, but if you do you will love this. my sister loves it. it's not often there is a vegetarian option for a bun, so i'd get it. the sauce on it is very good. comes with two. Karaage: This is chicken, but my dad gets it and it looks very good and crispy. if I ate meat i'd order this. avocado salad: okay so the ginger dressing is a little different than typical ginger dressing which I like. it's unique and very good. the amount of avocado is amazing! it has to be a whole avocado. always fresh. the green leafs are a little big, so this can get messy fast if you're on a date and trying to be demure. this is a must order for three people in my family. every time we go it's three orders clock work. I tried sharing with my sister and we determined we cannot share this. honestly bigger than I expected and more filling than I expected. has some cut up tomato's and cucumbers inside as well. mochi: must get. one order is one mochi cut in half. so two people could share one mochi order. i'm team chocolate, but I heard strawberry is good. I think I tried all of their flavors but honestly can't remember them. I'll update as I try more of the vegetarian/vegan rolls

From my seat I could see sushi being prepared and the daily workings and prep. The seating is deceiving as there are 2 seperate sections of the restaurant. Service was a bit slow even sitting at the bar and my water glass was never refilled even when asked but I'll chalk it up to a busy Friday. Will definitely be back!
