I have been going to Dr. Smith at Honolulu Pain Relief for many years and love his services and the…read moreway he treats his patients! My first appointment with Honolulu Pain Relief was made because of some pain in my neck that started bothering me right after I got sandwiched between 2 other vehicles while waiting at a stoplight. I never saw the rear driver coming and I was already at a standstill when I go hit so I most likely suffered from some bad whiplash after the event. My vehicle was totaled but I luckily got out of the accident alive with just some neck pain that was causing me really bad headaches. This happened back in 2017. They were able to get me in the next day and the driver that hit me had insurance which covered all the expenses. That initial appointment went really well. Dr. Smith greeted me and went over all the procedures that he wanted to do. I was given an assessment, my XRAY was taken, I got a chiropractor adjustment, STIMs therapy session, was given a home-use STIMs machine and got a massage all within that first week. Right after my first chiropractor session, the headaches went away and I felt like new but I still had some back pain so he had me schedule a chiropractor session every 2 weeks for a couple months. I loved all my appointments with him and his team. Even after the other driver's insurance no longer covered my appointments, I used my insurance with HMSA to keep coming back regularly since I got about 6 free chiropractic sessions per year. Although his location is in town and I live further away, I still made the effort to come visit while my insurance covered. His services and the way he treats his clients is sooo worth it! I love my chiro adjustments with Dr. Smith and always ask for him although there are other Chiro doctors in his office. He cracks my back like no other chiro has done. He perfected his technique and I always look forward to feeling my spine crack from one end to the other. I get so much relief right after especially because I also lift really heavy at the gym. Overtime, Dr. Smith improved his office space with more upgraded equipment and more beneficial therapy services. Besides everything I listed earlier, he equipped his office with multiple massage chairs, a wave therapy table that stretches out your back really well, more rooms and tables for privacy while receiving STIMs therapy, a stretch therapist to work with you before or after your chiro session and improved STIMS Laser equipment. My last appointment with him was back in November 2025 and I still received the same caring and thoughtful services he's always provided. I always recommend Honolulu Pain Relief when ever anyone asks me for suggestions for a chiropractor. He's my #1 pain relief doctor. I've gone to him for soo many years, he's practically like family. Even after not seeing him for months at a time, it's always the same reaction when we run into each other and I'm thankful to have him and his team in my life. Thank you Honolulu Pain Relief! I hope your office continues to thrive for many years to come and I'll see you again soon!

I had tried just about everything, and nothing really worked. After seeing Phi, my migraines are gone, my back pain is gone, and so many of my other issues have improved too. It honestly feels like a miracle. She's incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about her patients. If you're on the fence about trying acupuncture, I can't recommend Phi Lan enough.

After the course of treatment, I now only get them maybe once a month or two! A HUGE improvement if you ask me. One particular treatment where I had an active migraine, I could literally feel the pain leave my head as she moved the needles down to transition their flow (prickly sensation) to my feet- it was WILD. Not only did she help reduce my head pain and frequency significantly, but she always presented a very warm and welcoming environment. I'm not entirely a fan of needles, but she eased me into it, and ensured I was comfortable thru out the process (the heated bed helps). She always asked how each needle felt, if it needed more or less pressure, and offered to check in on me halfway thru the treatment. She also did some cupping, which was new to me, and help ease the tension coming down my neck and shoulders. Front desk staff are nice too, they remember you after a few treatments. Definitely recommend Phi Lan for any migraine treatment! She's the best!

I wanted to provide an update to my original review…read more Since that initial parking lot interaction, which I described previously as an unfortunate anomaly, I've had solid and positive experiences during my subsequent visits. The sessions themselves have been smooth and the environment inside has been professional and welcoming. I also want to acknowledge Makana, who has been great during my visits. The customer service and professionalism he's shown have been much more aligned with the type of experience I originally remembered from years ago when I visited BodyFix at their previous location. I've had good experiences here in the past as well, which is part of why I decided to purchase the package in the first place. Everyone can have an off moment or an awkward interaction, and I believe it's important to acknowledge when things improve or when the broader experience reflects positively on a business. For anyone considering recovery services like red light therapy, BodyFix continues to be a solid option. I'll continue with my remaining sessions and appreciate the positive experiences I've had since. Mahalo, BodyFix!

You are asked if you need to use the restroom. It is accented with purple by the window and mirror. They provide rolled hand towels for you. At the end you are asked if you would like water or tea. You have a leg pillow to help you rest comfortably plus a heat source- I like the one that is like a white rainbow over your back vs the heat lamp. You are told to take a nap but I just listened to the background music or let my thoughts race. The sessions lasted between 30-45 minutes. I can honestly say it helped with my neck's range of motion, able to sleep more, go #2 more often and lessen the headaches.
