I booked 60 mins on Thursday and it was so good, I immediately booked another for Saturday. I highly recommend this place. But it's a no frills, traditional shiatsu massage by talented specialists so just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. It's in an open space, fully clothed (so where loose comfortable clothing; not jeans etc) with no oil. It's targeted pressure points and not oiled like Swedish or Thai massages. They focus on the areas you escalate to them versus a full body massage. I saw both Kieko and Aya. I'd recommend both. Keiko for more precise pressure points and Aya for stronger broader technique. Both are attentive and focus on problematic areas you raise to them and will adapt their session with an intention to address that targeted area. Both genuinely seemed to care about my improvement and provide advise for after their session. Hope this place continues to do well. read more

There are different reasons to get a massage. When I want a nice, leisurely session to loosen up tight muscles, for relaxation, or for stress relief, I might go for a full-body massage elsewhere. But when I have a specific issue or pain that I hope shiatsu can help with, I come to Aisen. Of course, there's some overlap between the two types of massage. You can get shiatsu for tight muscles, relaxation, or stress relief. But where shiatsu really shines is when areas of my body are in need of healing. Clients remain fully clothed, and the shared treatment room is divided into separate areas by soft futons on a padded floor, each with a face rest similar to those on massage tables. Aisen has both male and female therapists, and in my experience, all are qualified professionals. That said, you may still like one therapist more than another, depending on your own preferences. Many sessions are conducted in silence, with only occasional quiet exchanges. Some clients, though, seem comfortable with therapists who engage more actively in conversation. Although I've been coming here for years, this morning was only my second treatment with one of the therapists there -- both times for specific issues. I like this person's thoroughness and pressure. And like the others I've seen here, the focus is on the whole body, not just the parts that ache. I made a follow-up appointment with this therapist. read more

When you book your appointment ask them if you will get the actual time you paid for. Usually they are right on the money or 5 minutes short which I feel is fair. However one therapist ended a 90 minute session over 15 min short. When asked about this he said the session started early which was not true. This happened 3 times in a row with the same person. Another idea. Start your stopwatch when you first lay down. read more

The quality of the massage is good and I brought a 10 package. However, I noticed for 60 min massage, the therapist was about 10 min short. I came into the parking garage at 3:01 and left at 4:01. This includes parking, walking up and down the ramp, waiting for elevator. If the massage is 60 min then one hour validation couldn't have covered the parking. There are multiple clocks in the massage room. I remember it was close to 10 past 3 when I get to it and waited for three therapist to get there. We finished right on the clock. Good quality massage tho. Next time, watch your clock when you go. read more

The best massage I have ever had! Pressure points removed body kinks and loosened tight muscles.

I came here with really stiff neck and shoulders and left feeling super relaxed! I loved the pressure and the straight to the point type of massage that shiatsu offers. I had Darren who was very skilled in knowing exactly where to put pressure and how much pressure. When I let my neck and shoulder pains were almost completely gone. I'm happy that I got to pay this place a visit today and I'm surprised I've only heard about it recently being that they have been around for over 40 plus years! read more

This place is old school and authentic. No fancy dark room, burning candles, scented oils, and private room......everything out in the open, with the lights on, and the main focus is the massage! If you are not into hard massages with some pain at times, this is not the place for you. While painful, there's a purpose to the pain versus other places in which they don't know what they are doing and they are causing the pain. I've come here over 10 times and highly satisfied. I should have bought the book of certificates since it would have been cheaper in the long run. They keep and old school ledger of all their clients and visits.....lilke no excel spreadsheet but pen and paper! Probably will go here exclusively going forward. Have tried many places.....some with high reviews on YELP and have been deeply disappointed and felt ripped off and not satisfied. Some of them actually try to tell me halfway through the full body massage that I'm really tight and need to add on another 30 minutes.......oh my...... Another had their business door locked and someone opening a peep hole to see who it was.....and they offer specials and accept credit card but at time payment they insist cash and then demand a big tip.....and this is place that also has won awards in the paper.... Trust me, you won't go wrong with this place for a SHIATSU Massage. You will feel loose and like you got your moneys worth when finished. read more

This is ALWAYS A great place! It had been awhile since I had been here but they found my old file and I just left feeling great and relaxed and can't wait to go back! read more

I have no idea if my massage therapist was a teacher or a student. Regardless, it didn't matter. She knew her stuff! Before the massage, she sat down with me and asked me if I had any pain and if I wanted her to concentrate on any areas. I didn't have any ailments at the time so I just asked for a full body massage. This older lady busted out her shiatsu skills and kneaded and worked out all these kinks in my shoulders and back. Muscle knots were released and joints were popping. Shiatsu is the type of massage that hurts so good. In the moment, you cringe in pain and then a moment later you feel bliss. After 60 minutes, I walked out of there feeling completely realigned and relaxed. I'd highly recommend Aisen. Prices are competitive and they do a great job. There's also free 1 hour parking in their parking structure. read more

Aisen is absolutely my favorite place to get a shiatsu massage! My coworker recommended this place and I fell in love. If you like deeper pressure, I recommend Masa. He is very professional and so nice! He also massages you until you feel better (over an hour if time permits) which is AMAZING! If you love this place and plan on coming back regularly, I highly recommend asking about the coupon book. You pay bulk price of 10 massages and you get 11 coupons. Makes each massage a little cheaper. Totally worth it! Visitor parking on the 1st, 6th and 7th floors. Be sure to get your ticket validated. The sensei even teaches both anatomy/physiology and Shiatsu massages classes here! That's how you know this place is OG. Cheers to Aisen Chiryo Doin, my favorite shiatsu massage place in town read more

I wish I could pack Henry up and bring him home with me! I tried a few different therapists there and believe me, they are all great, you can't go wrong. Henry just had the style that suited my needs the best. Expect to cry out with delightful pain (no, not that way), but they will find every little knot and tension in your body and work it out like there is no tomorrow. read more

Aloha- By far- this is my FAVORITE place ever. This place was recommended by a family member because I am always complaining about my aches and pains. I have been coming here for years. I either see Masa or Henry. The massages are intense. You need to enjoy the pressure. I always pay for the one hour massage, BUT the therapists always massages until they feel you are good to go. One time I went in at 9:30 a.m. and when I left, I looked at the time, it was 11:30 a.m.! That's what you call SERVICE!!! I will continue to recommend this place to everyone! read more

Went to Aisen for the first time a few weeks ago. I called the day of at 4 pm and was able to receive an appointment that evening. My appointment was at 6:15 pm and I got to the Interstate Bank parking structure at 6 pm. It's a good thing I came a little early because the parking rates started at $3 for a half hour. So I turned around immediately and found parking on the street. Only to find out after my appointment, Aisen validates for parking. Wish I had know than when I made the appointment. So I arrive at my appointment at 6:10 pm and am told, "you're early" by one of the therapist and to take a seat. So now it's 6:30 pm and another therapist finally comes out and tells me to fill out a client intake form. I could've done that while I was waiting for 20 minutes - @#$%!!! After filling out the intake form, the therapist leads me to an area on the floor for my shiatsu massage and starts massaging me. He didn't ask if I had any pain, issues, injuries, etc. and didn't even introduce himself. So I asked him what his name was and he said it was, "Chris". I informed Chris that I like my massage deep, which he did. But talk about NO personality, Chris didn't say a word until he was done. Meanwhile for at least half the hour session, the Owner/Sensei, his wife and the other therapist were talking about food for a potluck they were going to attend. That was very annoying and unprofessional in my opinion. They could've gone into their office to discuss the potluck. Overall, I would say the shiatsu massage from Chris was very good. He's direct and to the point, which I prefer. However the overall customer experience and customer service is lacking at Aisen. read more

Best massage ever. We found this place on Yelp & rang to book. They were able to fit the 3 of us in pretty much immediately. It was a room with common space with mats on the floor. This wasn't an issue with me. We kept our clothes on & they covered us up for the massages. I didn't mind that because sometimes the massage oil feels a little icky. My masseuse was Henry & he was fabulous. He found all my knots without me directing him & used the right pressure. I've always had trouble finding a masseuse that could apply enough pressure for the knots in my upper back. The 60 minutes massage went longer.. probably about 1 hour and 15 minutes & it it didn't feel too short which was great. Usually the massages I enjoyed left me feeling like I wished it went on for longer. It was $65 for the whole hour & a bit. I would definitely come back! read more

I rarely receive massage, but when I decided to, this is where I go. I was referred to Aisen from friends, as which most people are, since this shiatsu school does not advertise (much). For $45 you will receive a 1 hour massage, head to toe, finger to finger, and back and front. Although they ask you what particular area is sore, I believe shiatsu teaches "balance", hence why they massage your entire body. You may seem skeptical from the word "school", and that you will receive someone in training. But you would be wrong. I have had 3 different people, and I was more than satisfied when it was done. read more

I like my massages hard and the therapists here definitely deliver. I've been coming for the last 15+ years...they've massaged me through all the stresses of high school, college, grad school, and now my job. I credit much of my sanity to them and my gym. Treatments are done in one large, very clean communal room on individual mats. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes, as shiatsu is done over the clothing. Cost is $55 for about 1 hour, and they validate parking. Over the years, I've tried several different therapists (licensed therapists, not the students) and they're all pretty good here, so really it's just a matter of personal preference in finding one you like. The owner, Sensei Indei, is the nicest person. Sensei's fee is higher than the others but totally worth it - I've gone to him several times and he worked muscles I never knew I had. I swear that man has magic in his fingers! read more

Started getting shiatsu treatments due to a car accident almost 30 years ago. After the pain went away... I continued to go on a monthly basis to give my body a treat... basically, the 1 hour sessions just made all my problems go away. My regular therapist Wally had his own practice in Waipahu but moved to the Big Island. I needed to find another place so just looked this place up and found out that Wally learned his skills here at this school. Had several therapists through the years... my teenage son goes to Terry.... and my favorite is Eiko! Don't let her age fool you... she has such strong hands!!! I go less often now due family/work schedule... but if I'm in the area or over exerted myself physically... I give Eiko a call and after pau... my body & mind is all good! read more

I have been going to Hudson Ko in particular for at least 4 years. He is a very pleasant masseur. Before every session he asks if there are any specific areas of my body which need addressing. As I do hair for a living it's usually the same areas that need work. Sometimes its just that I'm beat up from work, gym and home renovation. He knows that I need extra deep pressure and he is open to feedback and suggestions. Hudson is extremely customer service oriented and courteous. I have never had a shiatsu from Hudson that was exactly one hour. If time permits, he usually goes a little over for me--And I believe in rewarding that with an equally generous tip. Hudson is essential to my health, well-being and general maintenance considering my profession. Without a doubt you should ask for Hudson Ko when booking your next appointment at Aisen Shiatsu School. Also, do not let the word "school" mislead you. He is licensed and extremely experienced. The studio setting is also an educational environment. A fancy spa setting this place is not. If you want a real therapeutic shiatsu session--let Hudson be your guy! read more

I was surprised that Eiko was going to do my shiatsu because she looked like she could be my grandma but boy was she awesome! It was my first full body shiatsu and I knew little of what to expect but I am extremely pleased with the shiatsu she gave me and would definitely recommend her. Also, the atmosphere was comfortable and Eiko is very gracious, accommodating, friendly and helpful. The price was good too! $53 for an hour! Check out what you're missing! read more

I go to see Henry. He is wonderful. He really takes into consideration the places you point out to him. His thumbs are magic! I'm sure if I lived closer and was able to see him regularly we would be in sync in no time. Sadly , it's a trek for me to see him, so I don't go as often as I should. That's okay, leaves more for the rest of you. Try him! He's fantastic. read more

I was pleased to have Merry, the Shiatsu Therapist, give me a very good massage. This place is a very legit place to get a therapeutic massage. Although Shiatsu is a generally a deeper massage using fingertips then the lighter Swedish type massages, Merry did a great job of providing relief in releasing tight muscles. Recommend their massage services where they are serious about what they do and how well they do it. read more

After numerous amazing shiatsu massages at a spa in Phoenix, I learned that my massage therapist was trained at Aisen on Oahu. So in 2015 i first visited Aisen while on vacation. The center is located in an office building north of downtown (the #2 bus stops about 2 blocks away). Everyone receives their massage in one, large room, and the massages are conducted on the floor. The sensei gave me a 60-minute massage that will most likely be the best shiatsu massage of my life. Four years later (to the day) I returned to ring in the new year with another 60-minute massage, this time by Henry. My entire body was very tight from surfing the day before, and he helped quite a bit! If I lived here, I would visit Aisen regularly and I recommend Aisen to those who are seeking a genuine shiatsu experience. read more

This place is awesome. After my appointment last night with Henry and a good night rest, right now I feel good and awake. My neck feels loose, I am able to drop my shoulders with ease, and my lower back relaxed. Open studio, clean, no strange smells, calm and quiet atmosphere. I like the fact they were able to accept late last minute appointments for my friend and I. Definitely coming back again after a few months. read more

My first massage at Aisen and the best shiatsu therapist I've experienced. I rarely post reviews but this time is well worth sharing Masanori's vast experience & techniques. Also, Masa massaged over the hour time of 20 minutes. He didn't have to go the extra minutes but did it anyway because felt the fatigue in my upper body. And I appreciated the extra effort and time. I am highly active; an endurance athlete and Crossfitter training for a figure competition. I've also had a few major cycling crashes that have left me with long term nagging injuries. I've tried other massage, chiropractors and Active Release Therapy and while those methods worked, MASA at at this Shiatsu school is by far the best. His quiet demeanor, sense of humor and approach to treating the WHOLE body is by far the most in depth treatment I have ever had. He spent way more than our alotted time to really focus on helping my areas that were causing pain right now. I will see him once every two weeks until I can get my current issues under control. Don't get me wrong; it was painful as heck; but as an athlete and a Fitness Professional, I understand what it takes to keep me doing what I love. Masa is a gentle soul that has great energy and really knows his stuff. He lets his shiatsu do all of the talking! I highly recommend Masa! read more

What a gem of a place! My husband woke up with a stiff neck and could barely turn his head. We already had an appointment booked (our first time there) but his pain was so bad, he didn't want to go. We went anyway and Mary worked her magic. After our 90 minute session, he regained his range of motion. He said she was one of the best therapists he's had. Chris was my therapist and he is also amazing. He is strong! If you like a lot of pressure, ask for him. He focused on the areas that I mentioned and helped me relieve tension on my neck and upper back. One of the best therapists I've had. The place is simple and visitors are all in one big room. Wear comfy clothes. You lay on a floor mat and they work on you over your clothes. If you're looking for ambience and soft massages, this may not be it. But if you're looking for the hurt-so-good pain relief, come here. read more

I have been here twice, and Kimmy never disappoint. This girl is tiny, but her hands and massages are SORE!!! But in the end I feel so much better. Over the years I ignored so much of my pain that I wish I had not. My body is all a mess, tightness here, knots there, out of alignment, just overall my body is whacked. The first time I saw Kim, I was like whoa she small, how will this workout I'm big. My friends warned me about her though. From the minute she started it was grueling pain. You can tell them to go harder or less strength. Beginning to end it just feels great, after my first visit I was able to sleep on my left side without having problems. I just went for my second visit and I appreciate the fact that Kimmy took some time out and talked to me about stretches more about after the workouts and some at home. My posture is bad, she could tell I use my right hand or right side a lot. So we will see how the second one goes but I will be back next month. read more

Was in honolulu on vacation. made reservation a day before for a 60min massage. Kimmie (sp?) was great. Spent 5min upfront understanding my painpoints and focused on them throughout the treatment. I recently moved from Los Angeles to Honolulu. Barely settled in, husband went on a business trip for 10 days and I was left with a 6m old. On day 6 morning I injured my lower back. I was desperate in finding immediate treatment. I came to Aisen Shiatsu School after reading online reviews about the magic Shiatsu can do in relieving pain. Eiko took me in and gave me a full 1h treatment, head to toe, finger to finger, especially the area where it hurt badly. Though pains are not 100% gone, I felt much better right afterwards. I went home and took care of baby as usual (thanks so much!!) The next morning I felt a even bigger difference. I would highly recommend her or the school. Though I was going for massage for years before pregnancy, none felt this good. It can hurt a bit while they work on you, but totally worth it. Guess there is a reason that it hurt in the first place - better work the knots out! read more
