We only needed them for 4 days but it was much cheaper to get the weekly rate versus renting on and off for single days. All of the equipment was good to great quality. We had 5 chairs and they were true Tommy Bahama chairs. Great quality. Cooler was good, not their fault but note you'll definitely need more than 1 bag of ice. HORRIBLE communication. I've rented from them 2-3 times before and had a great experience so I understand the good reviews here but I'm incredibly offended by their lack of communication this time. I wanted so badly to support a small business during COVID but wow this was a level of unprofessionalism I have never experienced. My boyfriend and I have been trying to rent one board since Sunday and today it is Friday and we have STILL been unable to confirm our rental. I called Sunday and received a text in response to my call. They told me to text at this number for questions and reservations. I have been trying to set up my reservation ever since via text but the responses have been little to none. On Wednesday my boyfriend even e-mailed them, but it's been two days and still no response. Their main phone number just goes to voicemail, so then we tried to call the phone number we had been texting but someone answered saying "you have the wrong person", even though hours later they would respond to my text with the same number. We were really excited to stand up paddle board this week but now we won't be doing it anymore. I'm very disappointed. The communication was seriously the most unprofessional I've ever experienced. All I wanted was to rent one board. I don't know why they're not interested in doing so, or it's fine if they are not able to but they should have communicated that to me instead of leaving me on read on and off for the last 5 days. read more

We decided to rent 3 double kayaks and kayak out to chinamans hat. Originally we were going to rent somewhere else but we would have had to pick them up and take them to the beach ourselves, but the delivery option was way more convenient! The price is very reasonable also, I don't think you can beat this service. I'm so glad I decided to do some research and found this company. I made reservations about a week out, they take your card info and charge you the day of. I didn't get a receipt, but I didn't request one, and I checked my bill a day later and it was accurate. Our driver Tyler was super cool and the drop off and pick up went smooth even though we misunderstood the drop off point lol. When you're staying in the North Shore there aren't many options for renting snorkeling gear and/or other equipment. Thankfully a Google search lead me to Hawaii Beach Time. We rented snorkel sets for the week. The gear looked brand new. Everything worked great, no leakage. We also did the Lanikai Beach Value package with a SUP vs double kayak. When we got to Lanikai Beach everything (four chairs, large cooler with ice and the SUP) was set up and waiting for us. We lost out on the umbrella since a bolt broke and there wasn't a replacement. There were a few other people at Lanikai Beach who were using equipment from Hawaii Beach Time. (They had the same chairs, cooler, and umbrella.)The family next to us had a double kayak. Halfway through the day we traded and they used the SUP and we used the double kayak. After they left, the delivery driver (I can't recall his name) asked if we wanted to use the double kayak (for no additional charge) since we weren't able to get one when we called. We opted not to since we already had but the third group of people chose to use it. I would definitely rent from Hawaii Beach Time again. Pros: 1) They deliver just about anywhere on the island. 2) Delivery and pickup are free. 3) They work around your schedule: we had snorkel gear dropped off at 8pm. What other company would do that? 4) Delivery drivers are on time, if not early. So you aren't waiting around for them. 5) Ryan and the other delivery guys are very friendly and accommodating. 6) They have everything you would need for the beach. 7) Equipment is in excellent to great shape. 8) Prices are very reasonable. 9) If you get a beach value package, when you show up at the beach everything is set up waiting for you. Including a large cooler with ice. 10) You can modify any of their beach packages. 11) Did I mention they deliver? You don't have to drive into Waikiki for your gear. At the time of reservation there was a 15% discount with Yelp check in but they claimed they had never heard of it. They honored it on my 2nd rental. For $40 it's a convenient option. My wife and I rented umbrellas, chairs and snorkel gear from Hawaii Beach Time during our honeymoon. They delivered the gear to our hotel in Waikiki, and when we left, we were able to just drop the gear back off the bell desk for them to pick up. We scheduled the drop off for a couple of hours after our arrival, and we were able to keep everything until the morning we left for the airport. All extremely convenient. We are experienced snorkelers, and we were a bit worried that masks and fins wouldn't be of high quality - but they are actually very nice and seemed brand new. The umbrellas and chairs were also in great condition, and surprisingly light. Umbrellas and chairs have straps to make it easy for you to bring them with you from the hotel to the beach, or from your car to the beach. Chairs also had a zipper pocket and zipper cooler on the back, as well as a couple pockets on the arm for your phone or a drink. We will definitely use them again next time we are on Oahu! read more

We found this rental provider on a simple google search, and because it beat the pricing of every other rental spot on the island, we decided to give it a try. I was skeptical, and could tell that it was a small operation, but our experience spoke for itself, and I will be a returning customer, despite a few small snafus. PROS -Best price on the island -Great gear - Kayak rental came with seat rests, paddles, and vests included (not standard - most rental places charge for seat rests) -Delivery + PickUp included! CONS -Communication - When trying to book my reservation, I had a little trouble getting through to speak to someone - and I would have preferred an online reservation system, where I could get an email confirmation, rather than only being able to book over the phone -Poor record keeping - Our delivery was 1hr late - which kinda went to confirm that they need to elevate their record keeping practices. Additionally, our pickup did not go as scheduled. I had to call to make sure the gear would be picked up, and they had us down for the wrong date (despite booking a 1wk rental, meaning the date should be very clear) Better record keeping/calendars, and/or moving to an online booking system (even google calendar!) could avoid these kind of issues. -Our rental did not automatically come with mounting equipment (pads + straps), like most other places. Had we asked, they could have been included for a separate fee, but because I didnt specify that we needed them, our delivery did not include any equipment for mounting the Kayak to a car (I was under the impression that they were inherently included so I didn't ask). *Pro tip, if this happens to you -Instead of paying $10-$30 elsewhere to rent straps+pads, we just went to Home Depot and bought the cheapest straps we could find ($10) - that worked great. read more

Definitely a good place to rent gear for any occasion. We rented snorkel gear and got the ala moana package. We had originally gone with the Waikiki package but they recommended the Ala moana package which was great. The water was calm for paddle boarding and there weren't that many people. Tyler was our drop off/pick up guy and he was very nice. He had everything set up by the time we got there and picked it up within 15 minutes of when we called him. We used the snorkel gear at Hanauma Bay. They gave us 5 for 4 people just in case one of the fins didn't fit, which was really nice of them. Mike even dropped it off at the hotel we were staying at. They offered to pick it up but we just handed it back at the same time we had out paddle boards picked up. Price: it's a relatively good price for everything. $12 for snorkel gear (we kept it over night for our early morning snorkeling trip) and $95 for the Ala Moana package for 3 hours! We (4 people) only used it for 1 because it was quite tiring! I would've gave 5 stars, but charging my credit card was unorganized to me. They had no paperwork or anything. just had me sign a waiver form. I had a 15% off yelp check in and they didn't even know about it. I wanted paperwork through email to verify they applied the discount. The guy told me the boss doesn't do anything through email, which was kinda weird for me since I would like a receipt. Anyways, just still waiting to see if they applied my discount. I'll have to calculate it myself to make sure. Overall, I would highly recommend this company. They are super friendly and always reply to my texts/calls right away. I would use them again when I come back for another vacation. Update: Regarding the 15% yelp, if you're buying more than 1 package or gear, they will only give you 15% off for one item, which is not what I was told over the phone. I said well my friend has another 15% off yelp can we use that? Nope. Ridiculous. They charged some ridiculous tax about 12% when I last checked Hawaii state tax was 4%!!! so buyer beware!!! This definitely made me upset and therefore I have to downgrade my recommendation to be cautious. if you're snorkeling at Hanauma bay, they have snorkel sets at the SAME PRICE as you would rent it from them, and even cheaper if you don't need the fins. I was interested in renting a very specific type of beach chair, on our latest visit to Waikiki. I wanted the type we could strap on our backs, like a backpack. HBT came through! We rented 2 of their Tommy Bahama chairs & and large umbrella (w/stand....though I was told the stand would be the small "drive-into-sand-type, what I received was a 20lb patio furniture type stand. When I expressed my surprise, I was offered to have it swapped out, if we decided that we didn't like the heavier one. We were only 1 block from the beach, so we kept the heavier one. We were a little apprehensive about booking with these guys because of their mixed reviews, but the packages shown on their website sounded like such a good deal we tried it out. It's just so convenient that they deliver, set-up and pick-up the equipment! We got the Ala Moana package that included 2 paddle boards, a beach umbrella, cooler with ice, and 2 chairs. The guy that met us was timely, friendly, and informative. He mentioned that we might be able to see turtles if we paddle out to one area and sure enough, we did see a turtle! He gave us an extra chair w/o charge without us even asking for it. (That was nice because we had a 4 person group.) We stayed at the beach from 2-6pm, enough time to watch the sunset! I would have given HBT 5 stars if the initial contact process was smoother. We tried calling in the morning during the hours of operation they listed on the website and it went straight to voicemail. Recently got back from visiting Hawaii. Had a great time stand up paddle boarding at Ala Moana Beach. Parking wasn't too bad (free), the water was pretty smooth and we had a great time. We rented the umbrella, chair, cooler and SUP from Hawaii Beach Time and they dropped it off and picked it up at the parking lot. This was great and convenient for visitors. Note: Our first appointment was cancelled because they had car problems. However, they called us in advance to notify us of the issue. That was much better than us getting to the beach and finding out after our meeting time that they were not going to be able to be there. BEST DEAL IN HONOLULU!!! I called them in the morning right when they opened at 10am, and Drew answered the phone: pleasant, very relaxed. Drew scheduled to have an umbrella delivered the next day. He was late with the delivery as he was short-staffed that morning, but he was generous enough to throw in a free beach chair rental with the umbrella (by the way, the umbrella was UV rays protected and VERY sturdy, as well as easy to secure into the ground). Really, this was quite a deal: 2 weeks for about $70, whereas other beach umbrella rentals were about $40/day for an umbrella, and maybe a chair. Even if the rental company charged me $20/day for an umbrella and 2 chairs, the two weeks for $70 was STILL a deal!!! My husband and I used this service when we visited Honolulu in November. It's a great idea - you call them and schedule the delivery and they bring everything right to your location. We had them bring us stand-up paddle boards for our vacation rental home in Kaneohe. The delivery guy came right on schedule, was very friendly and brought the boards right into the back yard for us. The day before we left, he came back and picked the boards back up. Much easier than going to a rental shop and transporting the gear yourself. The only downside is that the paddle boards are very much a beginner style board - they are soft tops and very wide. We stand up paddle board at home, so ideally we would have gotten more performance oriented boards, but the soft tops did the trick and we had a lot of fun anyways. read more

We were in Waikiki for a week and rented beach chairs and umbrellas from Hawaii Beach Time for the entire time. It is a much better deal than renting from the hotel. Moreover we could take the chairs and umbrellas to other beaches any time we wanted. Love chairs and umbrellas, made by Tommy Bahamas, high quality, light weight, very functional with large pockets for personal stuff and insulated liner pockets for foods and cold drinks, also having straps for back carrying. We put beach towels and other stuff in the folded chairs and carried everything on our back, super convenient. The umbrellas have cork screws which bite into the sand much easier, but have plastic spikes which could break when the high wind flips them, a design weakness by manufacturer, but Hawaii Beach Time replaced them same day. They are on time, responsive and most communications are over text. Overall a positive experience and I would rent from them again. read more
