We were in Waikiki for a week and rented beach chairs and umbrellas from Hawaii Beach Time for the entire time. It is a much better deal than renting from the hotel. Moreover we could take the chairs and umbrellas to other beaches any time we wanted. Love chairs and umbrellas, made by Tommy Bahamas, high quality, light weight, very functional with large pockets for personal stuff and insulated liner pockets for foods and cold drinks, also having straps for back carrying. We put beach towels and other stuff in the folded chairs and carried everything on our back, super convenient. The umbrellas have cork screws which bite into the sand much easier, but have plastic spikes which could break when the high wind flips them, a design weakness by manufacturer, but Hawaii Beach Time replaced them same day. They are on time, responsive and most communications are over text. Overall a positive experience and I would rent from them again. read more

When I am on vacation I am always weary about what companies to go with for activities etc because you never know what you will get without prior knowledge. My main concerns are price, and customer service/reliability. Hawaii Beach Time far exceeded my expectations. Drew is so personable and the kind of guy who you can trust and rely on. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have no unanswered concerns. His knowledge of the islands and way of life in Hawaii is impressive and reassuring. My girlfriend and I got to Honolulu and wanted to go stand up paddle-boarding, but didn't have any gear and didn't want lessons. We found this great company online and gave them a call. Within one hour, the owner delivered to us on the beach two stand up paddle-boards, paddles and life vests, two beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler full of ice for $99 for the whole day, and helped get us set up on the beach. So I got a message from this company last week. They were looking for yelpers to try out their service for free in exchange for a review. I don't know about you but I love free stuff. They've been in business for about a year so they're fairly new. I decided to schedule a beach day with friends to try out this service provided by Hawaii Beach Time. I thought it was a cool concept. A lot of people hate to deal with packing their car, putting all that stuff back in your car after the beach, then unpacking it when they get home. This service is perfect for those type of people. We decided to to check out Kailua Beach since its a great beach for kayaking. Our scheduled time was 10am but we must have gotten there a couple mins after that. My friends and I rented a couple chairs, umbrella, cooler, kayak, and paddle boards. We pulled in to the parking stall and there was a car parked next to us. We thought this might be who we were suppose to meet since it had a lot of gear in their car. But they didn't have anything on the car to promote their company and there wasn't any paddle boards in the car. So I just thought they were running late. I decide to head down to the beach just in case they were already there setting up our gear. I didn't see them so I gave the company a call. I tried calling twice but no one answered the phone. So my friends and I decided to set up our things and wait. I seen a guy setting up an umbrella and he had a kayak next to him. On the umbrella it said "rental (808) 585-1474. Thats how I knew it was them. Come to find out, the car that was parked next to us was Hawaii Beach Time. So they could've made finding them a little easier if they had more advertisement with their business name on the gear or on their car. We asked for 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards but only were able to get 1 kayak and no paddle board. This is understandable since we were getting the gear for free. They said they had other appointments that day which is why we couldn't get everything we wanted. The kids that were with us were a little bummed but we made due with one kayak. The kids had a lot of fun with the kayak. They took turns paddling out to the island. If you schedule a beach day, make sure you ask them what they have available. I'm not sure if they have a lot of gear to rent if they have several appointments in one day. In the end I was impressed with the service. They showed up on time despite having a hard time locating them. And they came to pick up the gear at the time they said they would. The gear looked clean and presentable when we got it. And the staff seemed friendly. If I go to the beach with a big group I would definitely use this service again. It was a good experience. My only complaint was not enough logos of the business to identify them at the beach. And maybe more communication with the customer if they can't bring all the gear the customer ask for. I'm assuming they're a small company that's still growing. Which is why they might have not had enough gear for us to rent. read more

This is a wonderful business I'm a UH student and they offered me a discount I recommend it to anyone. I rented Kayaks from them with some friends and they delivered it to the beach for us making it easy. This eliminated trying to drag a kayak or strapping it to the roof of my car. I had a great experience paddle boarding with this company. Jake, the employee that helped me, was really friendly and very helpful. I had never paddle boarded before, so he gave me some helpful instructions and helped me get the board into and out of the water. Jake even watched my stuff for me while I was on the water because I was at the beach alone and would have had to leave my things unattended otherwise. The equipment I used was really nice (the paddle itself was adjustable in length which was great because I'm somewhat short), and I had a great first paddle boarding experience. I only used the company for the paddle board, but apparently you can rent all sorts of stuff through them including coolers and tents. I have wanted to have a beachside party, but dreaded the thought of lugging out and setting up a tent, coolers, chairs, etc...so now that I know this company will do all that for me, I'm already planning a little beachside fiesta! read more

Great awesome find searching the internet!! I was looking for beach rentals for my kids combination birthday/graduation party at Pilila'au Rec Ctr in Waianae. Got in touch with Ryan & we were able to rent 2 each of 1-man kayaks, 2-man kayaks, & SUP all with life vests. VERY affordable for the day 9-6pm, cheaper than renting from the venue AND they delivered & picked up all the way in Waianae! Gave my credit card info at time of reservation & wasn't charged until equipment was picked up. This was awesome! I ordered a tandem kayak a couple weeks ago and it went very smoothly. Halfway to the destination, I realized I had forgotten some items and we ended up arriving 15 minutes late. They were totally cool about it which was such a relief. Talked a bit with the owner as he was picking up the kayak. Great guy and very down to earth. And when it turned out that our planned drop off location wasn't the best spot, they even offered to drive the boats to a better location nearby. Called them up and they delivered a paddle board that day. It's a foam top board which does it. Heads up, they are a bit heavy if you have a bit of a walk to the beach. But everything was good. I was told I'd get a call the day before to schedule pick up, I had a week rental, I didn't get a call but when I called him he was accommodating and worked around my schedule. Our family has been vacationing in Hawaii for many years..I wish we would have this service before...What a Great idea!!!!...All we did was call Beach Time and told them what beach we wanted to go to..When we arrived everything was ready to go!...We got an umbrella, chairs, kayaks, boogie boards and even an ice cooler! In the past we have had to buy some of these items at Wal-mart or Costco and then abandon them when we finished our vacation...No loading up equipment etc....Super convenient.. We used Hawaii Beach Time and had a great time. They were there right when they said they would be and we were able to start up. We used the SUP rentals which of the highlight of our vacation. When I go back to Hawaii I would definitely use this company again. As I would recommend it to all of my friends and family. Im so glad that we decided to use this company and their equipment. Anyone can do this sport even if you have never done it before they will explain how to do it and then let you be until your time is up. used to go oahu card w/ a breeze! make sure you ask plenty of questions to make things go smoother! both paddles didn't extend, so it was difficult for me to stand up. also, the drop off point was not made clear to me, even though i asked if we meet at the tennis courts of ala moana beach which is what their website stated, we had to walk from one end of the beach all the way to the parking lot, so we wasted some time! all in all fairly good experience, and they were pretty easy going about their equipment! read more

These guys were GREAT! I spoke to Ryan numerous times for information before booking for the week. He gave us hints on best locations to snorkel, to body surf, and to paddle board... (even went on to tell us best restaurants, best Taco Truck...!) He was FABULOUS!! WE had 10 people staying in our villa, and they were able to accommodate us. We didn't have to think about it, they just delivered, and picked them up... it was a no brainer. I wasn't worried about the credit card payment issue- (it's more to do with local taxes and /businesses. Called them at 9:45am on a Thursday to make a 12pm reservation for their Ala Moana Beach Park value package...umbrella, two chairs, two paddleboards, and a cooler of ice. Michael handled the phone call with no-nonsense professionalism and accommodated the last-minute reservation without a hitch. We arrived at Ala Moana at 11:40am and Tyler already had everything in place for us. He gave us a quick 2-minute briefing on swimmer & paddleboarder etiquette in the beach park, showed us where to find showers, bathrooms, and refreshments, and then gave us his cell number in case we needed to reach him. We spent 4 hours on the water and relaxing in the sand...equipment was in good shape, and we just couldn't beat the convenience of it. $95 for three of us to enjoy 4 hours under an umbrella, on beach chairs, with a cooler of ice and two paddleboards...you just can't beat it. We'd definitely use them again. read more
