Last day in operation is May 21, 2026, as Haven is closing permanently. Thank you for the commitment to excellence, experience and memories!

The service was five star worthy; however, we sat out on the porch which I usually love outside seating and we were drenched in sweat by the time we left. Please keep in mind that the only reservation we could get was 9pm outside and it's May but the beginning of May. I am a Floridian but more fans would have been appreciated. The ambiance inside was on par for anyone wanting to impress a date. The food was good but pricier than Bern's.

Knowing this restaurant is in the same group as Bern's Steakhouse we gave it a try and we were glad that we did. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is upbeat. We started with the barbecue oysters, which were very good and unique. My wife and I split the elk in the pasta which complemented each other very well, especially with the Pinot Noir we chose our daughter chose the 8 ounce fillet, which was cooked perfection, tender, and an ample portion. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We will certainly be back.

A modern take on its sister restaurant Bern's, serving the best wagyu steak--rich, buttery, and absolutely unforgettable.

We had enjoyed dinner in Ybor City and decided to hook back around closer to our hotel. I remembered there was bar nearby called Raven that offered some nice cocktails, so off we went. Upon entering there was a stylish dining area followed by a l-shaped bar where we took some bar stools for seats at the closest end. If you walk further down the bar, you enter another room that comprised more brick walls and a darker ambiance. It was a nice contrast as we kicked back to enjoyed some drinks. I also liked the fact that they have a cheese room where they store the cheese. That was very cool from our view from the bar. One thing is for sure, they have an impressive selection of bourbons especially barrel picks. I ordered selections by Garrison Brothers and Old Elk and was impressed with both barrel pick pours I ordered. The 2022 barrel pick wby Garrison Brothers was a treat and quite rich on the mouthfeel. Their cocktails are also class. Honeydew's Hot Cousin was a supreme glass of happiness between with Buffalo Trace bourbon, cantaloupe oleo saccharum, boston sour, and strega used. The Farmer's Daughter had more of a citrusy vibe between the pressed lime and tonic in this gin-based cocktail, while the snow pea and mint enhances it to another level. Additionally, I had the opportunity to sample their Uncle Chip cocktail, which they infused with vodka with potato chips (yes, you heard me right), and lo and behold, it tastes like one! The truffle oil and salt used really enhance the sipping experience to other proportions. And they do the classics well. I finished my evening there with an extra dirty gin martini that allowed me to live my best life. It was a glorious way to put a cap on an evening at Haven. It is glorious and good, with waking distance to the Epicurean Hotel where we were staying.

Haven is Bern's sister restaurant and it's more casual and much easier to get a restaurant. Same head chef but more unique menu items than the standard ones at Bern's. The Brussel Sprout salad is really good, potatoes were excellent, everything was delicious. Server was wonderful. They have some dessert options that are the same as Bern's but definitely limited. They will call ahead to the dessert room if it's during the week, but they stopped doing it on Saturday nights, so was disappointed to find that out.

My husband surprised me with dinner at Haven for my birthday and it was wonderful! The atmosphere, food, drinks, dessert and staff were all on point! They are located in Soho in the heart of South Tampa in the old Side Bern's building. Make sure to set reservations and with it, you also have the option to set reservations for the dessert room at Bern's if so inclined (but not on Fri or Sat nights). Their parking lot behind the building is small and valet only for $5. You can keep your car there if you choose to go to Bern's later for dessert. Haven does have wonderful desserts as well, but a very small curated list. They brought out our pistachio tart dessert to us with a birthday sparkler which was so much fun! Also birthday champagne! We ordered the chef's charcuterie board which was really good and hit the spot as our appetizer. They have Blanton's gold for all of the bourbon lovers out there - we ordered a 2oz. Glass with a cube ice. By suggestion I ordered a pomm-diggity cocktail which was delicious! We both ordered filet mignon with glazed carrots and grilled cabbage, we gave our compliments to the chef, as the steaks cut like butter! We will definitely be back!

Had to update my review to give a special shoutout to our sensational server, Jensen! She made our experience out of this world! We celebrated my uncle's birthday on the patio and she made the night absolutely spectacular. She surprised us with a card and champagne toast for the birthday! We enjoyed happy hour drinks and the chef's board which is such an amazing option to share. I indulged in the lamb shank which was fall off the bone good. We asked her to surprise us with the side to split, and we truly enjoyed the pasta dish which was similar to spaetzle. My uncle enjoyed the filet, straight from Bern's. The desserts were phenomenal! The bourbon crème brûlée was so creamy and decadent. We truly enjoyed the evening at Haven, and will certainly be back!

My manager arranged a reservation for me here and I really wasn't expecting much, but decided to go with the flow. Parking is nonexistent, so prepare to valet. Very quaint and beautifully decorated for the holidays. I love that there is outside seating available. My server wasn't very impressive. He took quite long to attend to my small party and didn't offer much with suggestions, but all the other staff were so pleasant and welcoming. The food was 10/10! We tried the seabass, scallop crudo, raw oysters, octopus, Brussels sprouts and the Mac and cheese. Every single item was a show stopper!!

Unfortunately not impressed. Food and service were just. Fine. The server was friendly but also bartending so I felt like she was just in the weeds. She stated multiple times she'd bring us water but our bar drinks and food came out before water and then ended up having to ask someone else for water. The drinks were ok nothing special. Unfortunately my medium rare steak came out like a hockey puck and I hate sending things back but it tasted like I was eating a burger at that point. The remade steak was much better but by then my partners food and our sides were getting cold so not the best food experience overall. The ambiance was nice but according to the server they are tearing the whole place down and rebranding in the summer to a seafood restaurant that is still a sister restaurant to Berns so I wouldn't recommend making it out before they do that honestly. After that comment it seemed like they didn't really care.

I have been wanting to try out this place for a while, but their Halloween dog party is what sealed the deal! My sister and I went to this event which lined up perfectly with their happy hour. We got a charcuterie board and 2 drinks to split. The charcuterie board was a bit overpriced for it being happy hour. I wasn't a big fan of the meats they gave. Also, they only had bread and no crackers. The service was phenomenal though. They were so friendly and accommodating. We loved the plethora of patios to sit on.

Girls dinner! We came and sat outside, beautiful area on the patio with lots of greenery. I got the free spirit (a mocktail) which was quite tasty! (I will say this is the same price as a true cocktail so be mindful of that). We shared a chefs charcuterie board that has selected cheeses and meats, all of which we loved and our waitress explained the whole board which was nice. The hamachi was to die for, very fresh and lovely balance of flavors. To finish off we all got a scoop of ice cream and shared the hot fudge to top it off! Lovely evening, incredible service, great ambiance outside, and tasty food/drink!

It's got that all-around fun, energetic atmosphere that makes it a solid choice for drinks. Not sure how it is during the week, but it would make for a fun date night spot to grab some cocktails. That said, I had a real hang-up the last time I went with my girlfriend around Christmas. They tried to hit us with a $10 cover just to get in, on top of $15-20 cocktails. I don't mind paying for a nice spot, but the cover felt absurd, especially since it wasn't even busy. The bouncer said we could make a reservation to avoid it, so I did...and then he made us stand outside forever before letting us in. At that point, we should've just left, but since my friend had never been, we stuck it out to try the themed Christmas cocktails. Once inside, there was a two-drink minimum per person, which is kind of crazy. It feels like they jip you either way...cover or no cover, minimum spend or not. While waiting outside (for no real reason, since it was empty), we chatted with a party of six who came straight from Ash (the sister restaurant upstairs). They'd just spent over $1,000 on their meal and were still getting charged a cover to enter Alter Ego. That's poor business, don't force extra fees to guarantee money when good music, drinks, and vibes should bring people in naturally and make them want to spend. There's plenty of places on Water Street with great (and I'd say better) cocktails where you're not forced into minimums or covers. The Christmas cocktail menu was disappointing too, poor selections and way too sugary. Love the potential here, but the strict policies really turned me off and made me want to go elsewhere next time.

Everything we ordered; drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert was excellent, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu. The steak was a bit dry and pretty chewy, and it lacked flavor. The sauce (some kind of brown pepper sauce) was actually really good though, and the fries were solid. One of my friends ordered the same dish and felt the same way, even though she still cleaned her plate. My other friend got a Caesar salad with shrimp and crab cakes -- both were really good. I'm usually not even a crab cake person, but theirs surprised me in a good way. She said the shrimp was cooked perfectly too. The ambiance is definitely a highlight -- we sat outside on Water Street with nice lighting and a great vibe. Service was good, and the bottle of wine we got was great as well. Overall, we had a great time, I'd just probably try something different on the menu next time.

I am also a sucker for egg white drinks. If you've never had one you are not living. Then there is the wine. They have Cade from Howell Mountain. So hard to find and one of the best. We originally planned on bringing some family here for their anniversary but that plan feel through so we made it into a friends catch up dinner. Right off the back LOVED our server Nimah. She was funny, helpful, and attentive. And they are on top of refilling your water so you will never go thirsty. I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't have much to say on that matter. The ambiance was nice. A lot of eclectic paintings on the walls. And loved the outfits of the servers. Very 20's speakeasy. There is a live jazz band that started performing at 7 pm. They were good but at some points it was a bit difficult to speak and listen to those at your table unless you got really close. My meal hit the spot. We started with a charcuterie board for the table. It had a lot of great options like dried apricots, actual honeycomb pieces, and my most favorite cheese, some Brie cheese. The only thing was there was only 4 pieces of bread, one for each of us, which wasn't enough but I guess it made sense not to fill us up too much. For my main meal I had the sweet potato salad which was very tasty and the sweet potato risotto, which a little spicy kick. The only thing I missed was the Brussels sprouts and potatoes but was told that was from the previous chef. But they serve you enough so you definitely will have left overs. Not a big fan of eating in the lounge areas, those are best just for drinks and maybe desserts. But it's definitely a great place to people watch. You will definitely have a meal and a show no matter what. Hopefully can schedule another time to bring my family because I know they would love it.

I just wish the happy hour selection was better and quite small, but the $12 burger and beer deal is great. Expanding the happy hour menu could bring in more business earlier and create a more lively atmosphere before the evening rush. Definitely a solid spot with room to improve.

We were seated at the corner table so we were able to people watch. Our server, Brianna, was super nice and very attentive. I never had to ask her for a refill on my Coke Zero; she just kept them coming! We started with some shareables for the table. Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts which were done just right. We also ordered a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza to share. I've never had a "Columbus-style" pizza before. If you're wondering, the crust is somewhat thinner than most pizzas, but not a thin-crust pizza. The toppings are spread all throughout the pizza to the edge, and then cut it in squares (Tavern style). It was very tasty, with a slightly sweet note. My hubby and I ordered the Cobb Salad (without bacon) which was delicious. I really liked the onions on it. It was very fresh and they served a generous portion. Hubby ate the whole thing, but I had the rest of mine for dinner. So good! Two of our friends ordered the Truffle Mushroom Smash Burger and they loved them. I tried my buddy's tater tots, which he ordered with his French Dip. They were nice and crispy, but could have used some kind of flavoring, like Parmesan or truffle. Doesn't mean I didn't eat them all! LOL. The restaurant looks small when you enter, but in addition to the front dining area and bar, it has two additional dining areas, as you walk towards the back, and another bar. If you find yourself in the Channelside area, you should definitely try out Small Giant.
