Bar Bites : Bern's Aged Burger: Solid burger and come with fries. Sangria : Tasted delicious. Cranberry Lemonade:Really good as well Mussels Escabeche: I really enjoyed all the flavors and grilled garlic ciabatta bread. Not on happy hour the Cold Roasted Chicken Thigh this dish had potential to be good. However ,it was not. Ambiance is always that. The service was five star worthy; however, we sat out on the porch which I usually love outside seating and we were drenched in sweat by the time we left. Please keep in mind that the only reservation we could get was 9pm outside and it's May but the beginning of May. I am a Floridian but more fans would have been appreciated. The Basics: Haven is a sister restaurant of Bern's Steakhouse (and is right down the street) with a nice, more modern menu focused a bit more on sharing items such as cheese and charcuterie. Things I like: We loved everything we ordered and tried when we visited Haven. We started with the Bread and Fat and Shaved Beef Tacos and both of these items were great. I especially loved the Shaved Beef Tacos, they are so flavorful and I highly suggest you try them. The Bern's 8 oz. Filet Mignon was also great. Things I didn't like: Nothing. Knowing this restaurant is in the same group as Bern's Steakhouse we gave it a try and we were glad that we did. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is upbeat. We started with the barbecue oysters, which were very good and unique. My wife and I split the elk in the pasta which complemented each other very well, especially with the Pinot Noir we chose our daughter chose the 8 ounce fillet, which was cooked perfection, tender, and an ample portion. We had enjoyed dinner in Ybor City and decided to hook back around closer to our hotel. I remembered there was bar nearby called Raven that offered some nice cocktails, so off we went. Upon entering there was a stylish dining area followed by a l-shaped bar where we took some bar stools for seats at the closest end. If you walk further down the bar, you enter another room that comprised more brick walls and a darker ambiance. It was a nice contrast as we kicked back to enjoyed some drinks. I also liked the fact that they have a cheese room where they store the cheese. That was very cool from our view from the bar. One thing is for sure, they have an impressive selection of bourbons especially barrel picks. I ordered selections by Garrison Brothers and Old Elk and was impressed with both barrel pick pours I ordered. The 2022 barrel pick wby Garrison Brothers was a treat and quite rich on the mouthfeel. Their cocktails are also class. Honeydew's Hot Cousin was a supreme glass of happiness between with Buffalo Trace bourbon, cantaloupe oleo saccharum, boston sour, and strega used. The Farmer's Daughter had more of a citrusy vibe between the pressed lime and tonic in this gin-based cocktail, while the snow pea and mint enhances it to another level. Additionally, I had the opportunity to sample their Uncle Chip cocktail, which they infused with vodka with potato chips (yes, you heard me right), and lo and behold, it tastes like one! The truffle oil and salt used really enhance the sipping experience to other proportions. And they do the classics well. I finished my evening there with an extra dirty gin martini that allowed me to live my best life. It was a glorious way to put a cap on an evening at Haven. It is glorious and good, with waking distance to the Epicurean Hotel where we were staying. read more

Haven is Bern's sister restaurant and it's more casual and much easier to get a restaurant. Same head chef but more unique menu items than the standard ones at Bern's. The Brussel Sprout salad is really good, potatoes were excellent, everything was delicious. Server was wonderful. They have some dessert options that are the same as Bern's but definitely limited. They will call ahead to the dessert room if it's during the week, but they stopped doing it on Saturday nights, so was disappointed to find that out. read more

My husband surprised me with dinner at Haven for my birthday and it was wonderful! The atmosphere, food, drinks, dessert and staff were all on point! They are located in Soho in the heart of South Tampa in the old Side Bern's building. Make sure to set reservations and with it, you also have the option to set reservations for the dessert room at Bern's if so inclined (but not on Fri or Sat nights). Their parking lot behind the building is small and valet only for $5. You can keep your car there if you choose to go to Bern's later for dessert. Haven does have wonderful desserts as well, but a very small curated list. They brought out our pistachio tart dessert to us with a birthday sparkler which was so much fun! Also birthday champagne! We ordered the chef's charcuterie board which was really good and hit the spot as our appetizer. They have Blanton's gold for all of the bourbon lovers out there - we ordered a 2oz. Glass with a cube ice. By suggestion I ordered a pomm-diggity cocktail which was delicious! Had to update my review to give a special shoutout to our sensational server, Jensen! She made our experience out of this world! We celebrated my uncle's birthday on the patio and she made the night absolutely spectacular. She surprised us with a card and champagne toast for the birthday! We enjoyed happy hour drinks and the chef's board which is such an amazing option to share. I indulged in the lamb shank which was fall off the bone good. My manager arranged a reservation for me here and I really wasn't expecting much, but decided to go with the flow. Parking is nonexistent, so prepare to valet. Very quaint and beautifully decorated for the holidays. I love that there is outside seating available. My server wasn't very impressive. She stated multiple times she'd bring us water but our bar drinks and food came out before water and then ended up having to ask someone else for water. The drinks were ok nothing special. You should get a reservation ahead of time and expect to valet as parking is nil to non existent. They seated us quickly and the server took our initial drink orders and got us a spot at the Harry Waugh dessert room for after dinner. The restaurant is decorated in a modern motif and puts a modern spin on certain dishes like tacos, duck, lamb, and oysters, There are steaks available, which is what I got, but I'd definitely go to Bern's or another steakhouse instead, Many of the dishes are small plate style so you can order several and share them with friends and family at the table. For the cost and experience, I've had better elsewhere so I'm not sure I'd go back. But like everything, to each their own. Our server wasn't engaged with us at all, didn't bother to let us know about happy hour or even that you can get a table at the dessert room at Berns if asked. Good thing my friend let me know this prior to us going. I sat there looking at how engaged the other servers were with their tables and it made me sort of jealous. Haven has a nice comfortable interior and the outdoor patio had a somewhat romantic charming feel to it. We sat inside where the seating was comfy, the ambiance was nice with a dimly lit space. The tables are quite close to each other and they also have booths if you prefer. The service was on point, attentive, friendly and quick moving. Some of the servers are quite experienced while some of the staff appeared a bit less tenured in the field of fine dining but all nice nonetheless. The food was quite nice, we did the prix fixed vday menu. I loved how some of the dishes played with texture and executed that aspect flawlessly and the ingredients were beautiful as well but I had hoped for a few more bold flavors that pack a punch. The presentation was delicate and stunning, the variety fantastic and an overall nice well rounded experience. You will walk away full but not feeling weighted down thanks to the nice clean high quality ingredients. Big fan of Haven! We had a 6:45 reservation but weren't seated until after 7. We weren't in a rush and it was beautiful outside so we weren't too worried about it. There were 3 of us but we were seated at a big table on the patio, we could have fit 5 more if we had that many friends haha! For drinks I started with an espresso martini and ordered the liquid picnic (tito's vodka, fresh strawberry, pressed lemon, truffle honey) after. I prefer my espresso martinis creamy and this one wasn't, but still great! The liquid picnic was so interesting - the truffle flavor was really prominent but I still enjoyed it. My friends both had two extra dirty martinis. The bar was apparently super backed up so it took awhile to get our drinks each time. For food, we split the brussel sprouts (my favorite brussels in Tampa), the chef's board (3 cheese + 3 meat, I only wished that there weren't any spicy options because it limited what I wanted to keep eating), and got a shaved beef taco each. It was the perfect amount of food to not feel super full but be fulfilled for all 3 of us. I also love that if you want, the server can book a dessert room at Berns for after dinner. It's sometimes forgotten that Haven is Bern's sister restaurant, so they offer a Bern's filet and access to the dessert room.
