I stumbled on Miranda's work on yelp at her previous location. Her work looks so amazing, I had to see her. Luckily I was able to locate her and she was able to get me in for an appointment. Miranda is very thorough and detailed. I appreciate that. During my appointment, I shared a vision of the hair color I wanted. Miranda was honest and explained to me that it may take a few steps. Although I have gone through just one session, I love the result I got. I'm confident with more visits it will get better and better. I'm super excited for my next visit. Worth the trip!

I have been going to Miranda for 2 years now, and even when I moved out of the area (almost 2 hours away) I still drove to have my hair done by the one and only Hair Angel, Lock Goddess, Miranda! When I first came to Miranda, I was looking for a Mane Savior...My hair had been damaged and my scalp had been burned by a previous stylist. I was letting it grow out so when I came to her I had long roots, yellow ends and "a very interesting cut" as I think I remember Miranda calling it lol....That's because I was scared to go back to trust another stylist, so I attempted to cut it myself....Not a good idea. When Miranda says she is a color specialist and furthermore, specializes in natural looking, easy to maintain, low maintenance, beachy color...she means it and excels beyond expectations. Miranda brought salvation to my tresses! In my first visit she did a color correction, a cut, and restored my glory. In the second visit she did an all over highlight and built some beautiful dimension into my now, very healthy, easy to maintain, beautiful hair. I am pretty lazy about styling my hair so Miranda does my cut & color in a ways that it still looks really good even when I do nothing to my hair but wash it. I simply will not go to anyone else...wherever Miranda goes, I will go, and I highly recommend her, as she has more experience than she even appears old enough to to have (I think 20ish years), and she continues to stay educated on new trends and technology, attending seminars, and classes, and offers the best products. Miranda also never does anything just for an extra dime, such as up selling, or even performing services that are not necessary. If she doesn't think you need a trim, or treatment in this visit etc., she will be honest and let you choose.

I made my first trip to see Miranda earlier this month. Let me say...she is a hair magician! My previous hair had some balayage/highlights that I didn't love and my hair had turned orange-ish/red. I asked Miranda if she could get the red hue out for me as I'm having my wedding elopement in early October. She said that she would cool down my base color and incorporate some blonde dimension. She said she may not be able to be get all of the red out in the first visit (which is totally understandable) but when she was done my hair looked amazing! Pretty much all of the visible red undertone was gone! It was exactly what I was envisioning! The cooler brunette and blonde looks SO much better on my skin tone. I am so excited to come back to see Miranda and have her perform her more magic on my hair forever!! Thank you Miranda!

Miranda is a miracle worker! I got my hair done at another place the previous weekend and my hair color turned out patchy/streaky and much more golden than what I had asked for. I explained the situation to Miranda and she was able to get me in quickly. She is extremely knowledgeable and explained her plan on how she was going to fix it. She successfully transformed my hair with this beautiful sandy neutral balayage!! Her studio is relaxing, she is very kind and overall it was a wonderful experience.

Not only is Miranda a wonderful person, she is truly the best at her craft!! I'm so glad I found her! I'm in my 40's and my hair isn't the easiest to deal with, it's thick and frizzy, and I have quite a bit of grey that requires dark brown permanent root color applications at ~6-week intervals. I also get balayage highlights and Miranda is able to lighten my hair to a beautiful blonde color (see photos). I can attest that lightening hair through previously dyed hair is not an easy process--it usually comes out very orange--but not Miranda, she is highly skilled and knows just how to prevent the orange undertones from showing through. I am in love with how my hair looks and I trust her with my hair. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for low maintenance highlights.

It has been 2 weeks since my first hair appointment with Miranda and I have nothing but great things to say! Miranda is kind, professional, and so talented. She understood what I wanted and did a 5 star job. The atmosphere of her studio is so relaxing and beautiful. I can't wait to go back and I'm so excited for my next appointment!

I have been going to Miranda for a couple years now, and she has been the best thing to happen to my hair! She's truly an artist! Sometimes I'll go many months in between highlight appointments, and my hair still looks fresh and gorgeous. As she says, she loves a "lived in" look, and I think her technique is what keeps my hair looking so good for so long. She is so professional, and she truly takes time to listen to what you hope to get out of your appointment. She's realistic, but willing to be adventurous with your hair too - a perfect balance! Her salon is clean and cute, and she does her best to make you feel relaxed and pampered. I truly won't go anywhere else to get my hair done!

I'm new to the area and found the salon via Yelp. Jackie did an AMAZING job with my hair. Nobody has been able to get my hair blonde without being brassy. She was so fun fo talk with, it was like talking with a friend. I'm definitely making her my new stylist! The salon was clean and she sanitized the chair before I sat in it. Saw Miranda in her new Salon Haven and it's such a beautiful and relaxing place! Loved the ambiance, decor, music & drink to make getting my hair done a special treat. I always feel at ease with Miranda and let her do her thing to keep my hair healthy and looking good. Working on letting it grow out again from being short and she always knows what I want. Love the new products I got from her too! She knows the right stuff for my hair. I had my roots done, partial highlight and a cut and all were perfect! Love my Hair! Jackie Johnson is a color expert. I came to her with a bad blonde and shades of orange mess. She fixed the problem and has continued to take care of my hair. I have been going to her every 6 to 8 weeks for 18 months now. Cut & color are always on point. I followed her to the Awesome new location. It is clean, peaceful, and private. Jackie is beyond amazing! She really cares about her clients. Our 6 year old daughter has told us she only wants Jackie to cut her hair. Our daughter has really long hair and the idea of a hair cut makes her super nervous. She is worried it'll end up cut too short. Jackie puts her at ease and is incredibly kind. Our daughter's hair turned out perfect! She spent the next day FaceTiming friends and family to show them her hair. A yelp review is what led us to her originally over a year ago. We were new to Folsom and had no idea where to go for our daughter's hair cut. We are incredibly thankful we found her and we were so excited to hear she was opening her own salon. I don't normally post negative reviews but this experience warrants one. Based on the good reviews, I called about an appointment for a cut & color. It wasn't a business phone so I didn't even know it was the right number. A few minutes later, Miranda texted back. She said she was accepting new clients on certain days and asked me to text photos of my hair, inspirational cuts, and the last year of my hair care. Seemed like a lot but she wanted to see if "we were a good fit", which felt like I was being interviewed for a job. So, I took a couple poorly lit pics, reviewed my hair care for the year, and found a couple inspiration cuts, though I made it clear I would rely on her advice. She never bothered to reply, which felt like a slap in the face. I texted her the next day, basically to call her out on her insensitive approach to blowing potential clients off whom she deems unworthy. I was annoyed. She texted back, clearly annoyed as well. She said my hair needed color correction and she doesn't do color correction. Um, not sure what all these reviews are about if that's the case. Let's be real -- she made a judgement call on my hair, looks and probably age. Color correction seems like a stretch in my case. Just bad root coverage that needed a darker solid color but if she's such a color expert, she'd know this and suggest seeing my hair in person. That's what the salon I'm actually going to book an appointment with suggested. To sum it up, if you you have imperfect hair that needs some color and cut love, go elsewhere. I'm basing that advice on Miranda's own feedback. She was unkind and unprofessional in her rejection. Her defensive, typo filled text was also ridiculous. That's why I'm giving one star. If I could give less, I would. No one should be made to feel bad about themselves... read more

I just visited Miranda at Haven Salon studio. I hadn't had anyone work on my hair for two years! Miranda was so so awesome! I am in love with my hair... she did exactly what I wanted and was so professional during these unique times. I am definitely coming back as Miranda has a client for life now! Miranda does absolutely amazing work. When I moved to California I had no salon to call home. When I found Miranda I walked in a platinum blonde with some bad roots. Without knowing what had been done on my hair before, she jumped right in and made my hair beautiful. After I realized that she was really a hair artist I let Miranda do whatever she wanted with my hair. We have gone pixie, many colors (blue, pink, violet). I know at the end of the day she will NEVER let my hair (or me for that matter) look bad. Miranda is a true artist. You can trust her to take care of you! Miranda has my business for life! read more

Ok where to start?! Jackie is the most knowledge and talented colorist and what she does is pure magic. Sometimes I don't even know what I want, but she figures it out for me. She knows my hair, skin tone and what will work for root grow in. Ive been going to her for years and I'm such a fan I even drive 2 hours after moving just to see her. I just had my first appointment with Miranda and am very happy with the results! She worked with me to get me an appointment that fit into my busy schedule and responded quickly! I found Miranda here on Yelp and decided to give her a try based on pictures. I wasn't content with my last stylist so I needed someone new. I sent her all the info she required and she responded rather quickly and was able to book me within the next week. Miranda was super friendly and easy to talk to and she did AH-mazing on my hair. I moved to Placer County 2 years ago and needed a new stylist. After asking around I heard about Miranda. She was at a previous salon when I first saw her. What immediately stood out was she gave me a "Hair interview." She asked me about my history, expectations, requested pictures, etc. She was so thorough that I knew I was in good hands. Once I had my first appointment I knew I found my new stylist. She did such an amazing job at not only the cut, but the most dreamy color! I've seen her several times and have now followed her to her own salon. She does excellent work! I'm constantly being asked about my hair and I proudly share her info. Jackie is the best, so personable and makes you feel super comfortable. She exceeded my expectations. I haven't dyed my hair is years and knew I needed to see a specialist. An absolutely wonderful experience with Miranda from start to finish! After having a complete mishap at another salon my hair was left various tones of orange and yellow and looked like a brassy mess! After searching for someone to help me out I thankfully stumbled onto Miranda's page and instantly knew she was a true balayage expert! I reached out to her and she quickly responded and got me booked for a month out, but I lucked out and she was able to move me to a closer appointment which was great! Somehow within the short two hours I was there she literally transformed my hair from an orange & yellow mess into a flawless brass free balayage! I have been seeing Jackie for all my hair needs about 2 yrs now and I do not plan on going anywhere else. Our relationship started when I came to her in need of a serious rescue from a nightmare experience and she was amazing! Totally transformed my hair! Since then she has always delivered the most gorgeous colors, highlights, cuts and styles. She loves her profession and it shows. Cierra has never made me feel bad for intermittently "box dying" my hair over the years trying to get my ideal auburn (unlike other stylists have!) Instead she developed a plan to treat and heal my hair. From the perfect cut and trim each time to capturing the most amazing natural looking auburn color that I had in my 20's I am stunned each time I leave at how beautiful my hair looks! I now regularly receive compliments from strangers about my hair and my coworkers are shocked when I tell them it's colored because Cierra makes my hair color look so natural. At my highlight appointment last December, I clearly explained that I wanted the front of my hair to be very bright with a thick money piece. Instead, I was given a very thin money piece and had to ask for the front to be bleached again during the appointment because I wasn't happy with it. Since my hair is already thin, I was nervous about bleaching the same area twice. When I got home, I noticed the bleach had not processed long enough and the front of my hair looked very gold. I reached out to have it fixed, but I had difficulty getting a response and had to double text just to hear back. Fast forward to my appointment this May, and the exact same issue happened again. Before the appointment, I even sent a reference photo on Instagram showing the thick money piece I wanted. Again, the front turned out much thinner than requested. I chose not to complain during the appointment because I didn't want the same pieces bleached twice again. However, when I got home, I noticed there was a dark patch completely missed in the front/top of my hair that is extremely noticeable. I reached out on Instagram, since that is normally how we communicate, and received no response for two days. I then texted her directly, got a couple responses, and then was ghosted again. I completely understand that mistakes happen, and I'm not expecting perfection. What upset me most was the lack of communication and customer service afterward. The first time, I had to go to my mom's wedding unhappy with my hair, and now I'm dealing with this right before my college graduation. I really valued her work, which makes this even more disappointing.

I went to Miranda for the first time this past winter, and she is an amazing hairstylist and color specialist. I have a lot of grey hairs and like to keep my brown hair looking natural with some beachy highlights. Miranda really knew what she was doing and my color and cut grew out quite naturally during the long Covid quarantine period. (She even offered To deliver grey color kits to her clients while we waited to see her again). She also did my 20 yr. old daughter's blonde highlights a few months before mine and the color turned out beautiful and it grew out really naturally which is why I originally decided to give Miranda a try. Miranda is an amazing hair designer and colorist. I love that she makes my highlights look natural and bright each time. I have also never had a dye line when my hair grows out. My appointments are every 4 months and I could go longer if needed, but I look forward to my appointments. The whole experience is relaxing you are not shuffled around to assistants nor are you pushed into a corner waiting for hours while she sees other clients. To say Jackie is the best is an understatement! Not only is she the sweetest thing, but she is so knowledgeable and educated about what she does and you can tell she truly cares about each one of her clients. I went to her after going through major hair loss from stress and hormone imbalances and I knew I needed to find someone I trusted for the long hall to help me get my hair back to normal.
