My hair hasn't looked this good in years and I've tried both of the other "fancy" hair salons in EDH Town Center, as well as $300 salons in Seattle where I used to live. It's easy to make an appointment with her via text and I haven't had to wait more than a few days to get her next appointment. In addition, my hair is about 25% grey and I'm leaving it natural, and Tiffany was the only stylist here in CA who didn't "gently suggest" that I should color it to cover it up. I really appreciate that about her, even though that doesn't seem to be the norm around here. IMO her price is beyond reasonable for the detail-oriented work she does. I hope she never leaves me :)

What I can say is the communication from the owner is extremely lacking. I sent the business a direct message through Facebook indicating I would love to set up an appointment for a haircut. The person who got back to me identified herself as the owner, and basically said she was on a trip, and asked if I could text her about my appointment request a few days later when she returned. I already thought that was odd... Shouldn't she have reached out to me after she returned? Couldn't she have recommended one of her stylists to assist me in her absence? But, I did as told... Texting her upon her return and again explaining what I needed, in hopes of setting an appointment. I texted her in the morning... She didn't get back to me till in the early evening. When she did, she addressed me with a completely misspelled name (unprofessional), and gave one option for a particular day and time which I couldn't make. I texted her back right away, explaining that the day she was offering was my birthday, and would therefore be pretty busy. She finally responded hours later, late into the evening saying that she would see if she had availability on another day after she got back into the shop the next day and looked at the schedule... Never heard back. Does it really need to be this hard? Seriously don't have time for this kind of jerking around. Easily made an appointment at another local reputable salon... I have a feeling I will be much happier with the outcome there.

I made an appointment with Jaimie, initially planning to get a perm because I thought adding body might solve my hair issues. During my appointment, Jaimie took the time to discuss my concerns, how I typically styled my hair, the products I used, and the time I spent on my daily routine. After carefully evaluating my hair and listening to my goals, she recommended against a perm. Instead, she suggested a cut that would better suit my hair and texturize the heavier, unmanageable areas. After a relaxing shampoo, a great cut, and a beautiful style, I left the salon feeling happier and more confident than I had in a long time. Jaimie did an amazing job, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist who truly listens and knows how to make hair work for you. Late Sunday night around 11pm, I started desperately searching Yelp for salons near me with great reviews. I kept seeing amazing things about Lox & Hue Hair Salon, so I decided to trust the reviews. Using AI, I sent messages to three salons -- including Lox & Hue. I heard back from another salon first, but first thing Monday morning I received a message from Jaimie, the owner of Lox & Hue. She told me she was on her way into the salon and would let me know if they had any openings that day. She was immediately on it. When I explained in my message how upset and devastated I was about my hair, Jaimie went out of her way to work me in. I was already so grateful before I even walked through the door. I ended up seeing Kathleen, and the second she smiled and said hello, I just knew I had found my salon. She is so sweet, incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and so easy to talk to. She took the time to go over everything with me before doing anything at all -- explaining the plan, asking questions, and making sure I was comfortable and confident with every step. When she finished... I'll admit, I cried again -- but this time happy tears. My hair turned out beautiful, blended perfectly, and better than I ever expected after what I went through. I am so thankful to both Kathleen and Jaimie. They didn't just fix my hair -- they restored my confidence and completely saved my New Year's. I used to have long hair that covered 2/3 of my back and I would go to this place to trim the ends and keep the same style. The price is reasonable, usually I pay $55-$65 depending on how much time the stylist spent on me. My hair stylist is late for my appointments a few times but i didn't mind because the price seems reasonable and the place is clean and bright. However, my latest hair cut was more like a 1 star since I really wanted a makeover and did not want my hair to be long anymore. I don't want to mention my stylist's name here since i don't want to ruin her client based. The hair stylist was late for 20 minutes and i was her the last appointment before her lunch break. She simply chopped my hair across a straight line like what a child would do to cut the hair. Then she just did a few blunt cut technique trim on the bottom and used a razor to chop the interior to make my bob less puffy. I told her the bottom was still too thick then She used the razor to chop a few times like she was trimming grass on the inside layer of my hair. She only spent about 30 minutes on my hair cut (including shampoo and blow dry) since it was close to the lunch break. My inside layers looked completely damaged with a few "holes". I had a few bad hair cuts in the past, but this one was hard to swallow. It's probably one of the worst hair cut had my entire life. I'm scared to go back to the same hair stylist to fix my hair since I don't have much hair left to be fix. I will have to go somewhere else to fix my entire hair cut again to make it straight across at bare minimum so I don't look like a joke. Overall, I would still return to this hair salon just to get a hair trim to cut out the dry ends if I have long hair. But I would not come to this place if you desire to have a short hair cut.

Kenneth messaged me quickly and was very up front about what he could offer and for what price. Rooted is in the Folsom hills and right in the downtown area along Lake Natoma and the American River. Every time I venture out Folsom way there is something new to see, but this little area still has the same "feel" as when I was a kid - Cute, Quaint, Small-Town. Since they have only been in this location a few months they don't have signage up yet but you can't miss it, it's a darling little cottage with a red stone brick path leading to inviting walk up and entry. I felt comfortable right away. Kenneth was up front ringing out another client but made sure to greet me as soon as I entered, which says a lot in my book. He showed me to his room, which was super cozy; the salon chair was comfy; LOVED the wash station, Kenneth was awesome; very personable, we chatted it up while he washed, did a deep conditioning treatment, (can I get that hair drier to go pls?) lol, Brazilian blow out and some touch up with the flat iron so I could get home to flat iron the rest (I do that myself). Even without the flat iron it looked fantastic! My hair felt super clean and well hydrated, not dried out at ALL. When I got home to finish the flat iron it was nice n soft n felt fabulous. Loved it!
