The food was good, coffee was good, but service was not unfortunately. Bad service is enough to make me never want to give my business to an establishment again. Especially coming the morning after Christmas, wanting to take my significant other out to a nice breakfast. Out of all the restaurants and coffee shops I could have gone to, I chose to give my business here. Normally I like to tip everywhere I go but the fact that the cashier would have the tip question pop up after the service that was provided was mind boggling to me. Also, the place wasn't even half full, but the wait took around 40 minutes. We didn't even get the coffee out at least before that time. I went up to the counter to politely ask how much longer the wait would be at least just for our coffee to the cashier and then another lady I wasn't talking to rudely interrupted that our food was right there on the counter and they'll bring it right out but did not smile or at least express an apology for the wait. It's sad that this is the impression that I will now forever have about this cafe and unfortunately will not be going back due to the lack of customer service. read more

Really glad i found this spot on yelp! Came here with my friend and honestly we were being a little difficult with the guy at the register (asking what to order and then deciding to split bill after ordering) and he was super nice and helpful the whole time. Definitely appreciated the service. I got the customizable steak bowl and it was really good. The steak was tender and the flavors weren't overpowering, it was a nice subtle flavor so i was able to finish the whole bowl lol. The bowl also is very fulfilling. Definitely coming back to try some other entrees on the menu and some pastries. I've eaten at Porto's many times and i will say, the entrees here are better than Porto's. Yummy, crispy and crunchy spinach empanadas! Yuca fries, yes please! The coffee, empanadas, pastries and sauces all homemade so be patient, these are coming from flavor town! We started with the Sal coffee lattes here which hits the spot. Next we drove into spinach empanadas, these nuggets of goodness are homemade so you can taste the freshness of the ingredients and the piece that put it over the top is the crunch texture that encapsulates spinach interior. My recommendation is get two orders! Next on the hit list is the Yuca fries they should rename these ya can't eat just one because these pair well with the sauce which you'll need two orders if you are sharing. After I ate one, they crisp it from side side and they weren't greasy, just crispy and fresh. The sauce comes in a heated version and a kid friendly version both I recommend. Fresh and homemade! We arrived at 10 am before the lunch rush and sat inside but there are options to sit outside also. Inside they can accommodate small and large groups also. Nice little Cuban spot. Has indoor and outdoor seating. The food we very reasonably priced. Service was very fast and friendly. The food was really good. I got the pork and beef empanadas, with rice and beans with eggs on the side. It was very flavorful. Empanadas came with there own special dipping sauce that had a hint of garlic to it. This is the second time we have come here, I don't know what happened to my original 5 star review unless they started a new page. I refuse to patronize an establishment that acts like they are too good for your money. There were three employees behind the counter and no acknowledgement from anyone as we waited at the register to order. I understand that you may be busy at the moment, but a simple head nod, a "hello" or an "I'll be right with you" goes a long way. This our go to spot every Friday! :) We love their Mother Earth coffee! We also have tried their empanadas and the Oscar is my top favorite! They are all delicious so you won't be disappointed! We have also tried their Cubano and it just melts in your mouth. The crunch of the bread is also nicely toasted for that first bite! The service is also quick and efficient. There is a lot of seating available and the owner is also super nice! We love comfort food so my husband and I find this place a gem! Nestled in Old Town Temecula, Havana Kitchen is a great casual eatery and cafe. The staff are friendly and make suggestions for first timers, if asked. There is ample indoor space and some patio tables that are pet friendly. Though a little pricey, the food is absolutely delicious. The potato ball and beef empanada were crispy and savory with a delightful beef filling. Though not in need of additional flavor or moisture, they were served with sauces. The Cubano was huge and tasty, with the mustard providing a nice tartness to the heavy sandwich. The guava cheese pastry was warmed for us, and though still cold in the middle, the flaky and fresh crust and tasty filling made up for it. We were also given a tray of toasted and buttered bread. I'm not aware if this is free for every dine-in guest or they just had extra, but it was so delicious! Though we didn't try any drinks, there is also a full cafe inside with various coffees and many more pastries available. I absolutely love Cuban food but I was slightly disappointed in the food here. I learned that they do not make the empanadas fresh. The taste of the empanadas was good but you can tell the difference between fresh and pre made. They also advertise that the dishes come with plantains, plural, but I got just one small plantain. Tried their Sal Latte because I was curious to see how salt could enhance the taste of my coffee/latte. The first thing I noticed after I took my first sip though was how strong the coffee was. I didn't really notice the salt but then again I'm not a real a coffee aficionado, so I would put it pass me to completely miss it. Just being honest here. But overall the latte was delicious. I could really taste the cream, which maybe was the true effect of the salt. Overall it was quite good. The cafe was super well air conditioned, thank god because it was scorching hot outside. Love this place, been coming for years. Husband and I had business in old town, and decided we needed a coffee and a snack. We picked up a beautifully strong coffee, served in a ceramic mug, and a side of three empanadas. We chose the pork, the beef and the chicken cilantro. They are served with a side of mojo sauce for dipping. My favorite was the chicken cilantro. I was very excited to try out this place but was VERY disappointed when they told me they didn't have any rice!!! Luckily, some other person decided to check with the kitchen after seeing my horror face, and they said that it was going to be ready in a few minutes. It's just bizarre that a restaurant that serves rice with most of the menu items would run out and offer more beans instead. Anyway, I had the vegetarian plate and we also order the kids chicken plate and the chicken fricassee. The food was good but nothing really special except for the vegetarian empanadas, they were delicious! We ordered some dulce de leche pastries as dessert, but they were not worth the $6 at all!
