I work in the area and never stop in because it doesn't have a drive through... but now that I know what I know about this place I will definitely be back! We stopped in early one morning before heading out of town and ordered some coffee and breakfast sandwiches to go and they were great. Liam was working behind the counter and gave some great recommendations. What I loved was the fact that it's a coffee shop that also serves local craft beer on tap which would make a great place to meet with friends, or a place to study. Finally, there is an alternative to SB! I get a cup of coffee or a latte every day of the week. The staff does an excellent job with customer service. They have an excellent selection of pastries and snacks. I really like that they serve beer (on tap). Yes, they have a couple of IPA's available as well. Also, Hava Java has sugar-free Almond flavored syrup which SB doesn't offer and this makes the icing on the cake for me. If you've never tried Almond syrup in your latte you're missing out! Hava Java also has a loyalty card that offers a free drink after your 9th purchase. I'm already working on my third card. The wife and I wanteD to try out a new coffee place. This was on mind since we saw it was about to open when we visited Chipotle. I got a White Chocolate Mocha. The wife got a Peach Green Tea. I love this place. This is why giving it only 3 stars is hard. I love the vibe. I love the ample seating and I really love the workers. They are all very cool and easy going and just damn good at what they do. So why the bad review? One giant issue. I would say 9/10 times I am there there is one worker. ONE. So that person must take the order, make the drink, ring up the total. Plus they sell pretty good looking sandwiches and treats. The one person has to make and serve those too. Sometimes the line just never goes away. The poor worker bouncing around like a ping pong ball trying their best to keep up. This place is so close to perfect if they would just use more staff. Pretty sure the person I interacted with at the counter is the owner.. (edit he is the Manager) that being said. I come in here almost daily and buy an Affogato for $4. I have a few things to say First off, Consistency. If one Barista makes the drink with two scoops of ice cream and two shots with whip cream, everyone should. If that's not the case than make sure the team is on the same page. Secondly, the man at the counter. You refuse to stamp my punch card even though I'm making a purchase, to tell me that the loyalty card is only for drinks.. What is an Affogato? I was under the impression it was a drink. A regular coffee is like $2.90.. So I spend more and don't get the same punch on my loyalty card.. I don't understand. I planned to try lunch here today but I will find somewhere else. Consistency is key. I've only ever bought the Affogato here and am two punches away on my loyalty card. So $45 deep and now you turn me down. Who knew that the perfect coffee shop existed? And it exists in Mesa, no less! This place is truly special. They have amazing food--I had a breakfast sandwich with a soft, fluffy egg, fresh arugala, cheese, and perfectly cooked bacon, all on my multigrain bread. Oh and it had pesto on it! I couldn't have asked for a better meal. Their fair-trade coffee was roasted and prepared well. It had a nice, rich flavor without tasting bitter. The interior was large and cozy, with lots of natural light and flexible seating options. It is the perfect place to bring work. To top it all off, the staff are extremely friendly (but not your face). It's been less than a day since my visit but I'm already ready to go back! read more

My husband and I make it a point to support local businesses and we are extremely disappointed in what happened at Hava Java this morning. We brought a couple of pastries from a local bakery and sat down at the bar to drink our purchased coffee from Hava Java. We were then KICKED OUT for having our own pastries. We were totally planning on having a beer as well after our coffee. This is absolutely horrific customer care. Stumbled upon this place by accident. Had an hour to kill between appointments, I wanted coffee, and it just kind of appeared before me - praise be to the coffee gods! Super nice guy (an owner?) made me a delicious Americano while we chitchatted. Great music played while I sat and relaxed. The owner guy and maybe another owner guy puttered around, chatted with a dude at the beer bar (they had some fabulous beers on tap!!), chatted with me a little ... and it was just a chill, friendly atmosphere. We found this place last fall and have been frequenting since then. So today we met friends to introduce them to the place. One of our couples (there were 6 of us) had to wait over 30 minutes to get their food. Now I realize that Oatmeal took a few minutes to get otherwise, but if you can't hire enough people to prepare/make the food and others to make the coffee then don't offer food! We felt so bad that about recommending the place and they came from Apache Junction to be treated like dirt! How can we recommend to someone else every again? read more

I just went in for the first time to get some coffee. I'm tired of Starbucks watered down drinks. This place is very close to my home, probably the closest coffee shop to my home. I ordered a "Frozen Java" in a large. Which comes in a 32 oz cup. The guy behind counter was very friendly. I took the drink home and my fiancé and I shared it. We both were very impressed. The Frozen Java tastes like coffee / mocha. Really amazing flavor. I love the 32 oz size because I like to sip on drinks for a couple hours. My go to drink is the Iced Macchiato, so I plan to get that next. New places I always get a blended drink, as it's my "treat" drink. This place also serves beer and smoothies. A one stop shop for drinks! Can't wait for Covid-19 to be over so my fiancé and I can go try their beer. I highly recommend. Go support small business!!! read more

Sometimes a person has the greatest name for a coffeeshop, they just have to open one! This coffeeshop will be your next favorite hangout. My kids and I had smoothies, steamed milk peppermint, muffins and bagels. We played word games available at the table. The interior is open and spacious - a perfect location for a meet up of friends, or if you need a quiet place to get some work done. This is a new coffee shop. Great interior and they made the most they could for a back patio. I got dark coffee, which was light for me. The bigger issue was the temperature was not hot. My wife got cappuccino. At $4 for a small it's the most expensive cappucino from a coffee shop.... and it was bad. It tasted more like a weak latte, but also had this weird taste that i can only assume was old milk. Couldn't even drink it. I think it's time for some additional training before this place goes any further in the wrong direction. read more

Expensive and no satisfied with the coffee. $3.10 for regular coffee and it was just warm- cold so when I added the half and half, my warm coffee become cold coffee. I ll no visit again. There are other coffee shops in the area better quality and no so expensive. I hold my original review and experience.
