Went yesterday for my first fill after getting my nails done at another salon and they charged me the same price for a fill as the other salon did for a new full set. That's fine, whatever. But the thing that made me decide to NEVER go back was the horrible service. My nail tech was so extremely rude to me and the 2 girls working were ignoring me the entire time and speaking (yelling) at each other in their native language the entire time. I asked about the length of my nails as I wanted them shorter and I got "I'm not done, I'll tell you when I'm done" in the most rude and condescending way! Ummm, nope! Not going to happen, I work very hard for my money and I'm not going to be treated like garbage especially when I've done nothing but treat you kind. I never thought to write a review on a nail salon as my expectations aren't super high. I wish I read the reviews here before coming. First of all for a place in south surrey I would hope they have higher standards with customer service and care. They barely greeted me. I came in with a yes, do you have an appointment? Promoted by a have a seat, than sanitize your hands. I already knew this place was going to be relaxing. No, hi how are you? No conversation which I'm fine with but I'm not use to absolutely nothing. The seats are SO NOT COMFORTABLE. I'm 5'3 and stretching out my leg to accommodate the nail girl. She's almost annoyed because I'm not understanding her cues. She barely scrubbed my feet, I was so taken back i even said to her.. that's it? It was probably a 5 second scrub clean. She was rough with pushing my feet back and forth in and out of the pedicure water. I couldn't believe I came, I was annoyed like I should've known better. The girl next to me I had seen getting a massage so I asked if mine was included as well? She said yes... so she did it at the end after the polish was applied. Super unfriendly, super unwelcoming. I would recommend driving to nails r us , enchanted in surrey even. This place is terrible. She massaged me for 1 min maximum I want to say.. maybe closer to 30 seconds. I'm never going back here and wouldn't ever recommended this place. Soo many more options. I didn't call to check on the price I assumed it was standard with all other busier nail salons. At the end she placed a Luke warm towel on me after her 30 second massage. She than said okay you're done now. Left my pant legs up so I had to unroll them down for the first time ever. I got my nails done here for the first time yesterday and I loved it! This place is brand new - I believe their grand opening was only a couple of weekends ago. The interior is very well-decorated, clean, and bright. I booked my appointment really last minute and the owner agreed to stay later to accommodate me. She personally stayed to do my shellac manicure and did a great job. She was very detail-oriented and made sure I was happy with the finished product. Sanitation is HUGE when it comes to nail salons. Haute Nails does a fantastic job with maintaining a high standard of sanitation. Their tools are all sterilized and packaged separately. They also give clients their own disposal nail filers and buffers. I was really impressed with the choice I was presented with for shellac polish colours. I find that a lot of nail salons have a very limited selection. Here, they had hundreds of different colours to choose from. The owner also mentioned that she was able to do a "matte finish" for any colour. I had a great experience and I can't wait to come back for a pedicure, so I can take a seat in one of their fancy chairs! read more

I am giving this place 2 stars for a couple reasons, but I will start off with the good first. It is clean & nice looking inside; they do have a lot of shellac colours to choose from, and my nails looked great. The negative things I will say, and the reason I am giving them 2 stars is: the price that they charge for shellac mani/pedi is NOT worth the service. For starters, the pedicure chairs are not comfortable at all.. It's a hard surface with a pillow for your back. Every other salon I've gone to always has massage chairs you can sit in and control for yourself, which I was looking forward to sitting in one today because I'm pregnant and my back is killing me, but I was dissapointed when I got there. Secondly, I was also really looking forward to when they buff the dead skin off the bottom of your feet, but they didn't do that! Which was so strange to me. I have always had that anywhere else I go. The girls beside us also got offered a beverage (water/tea/juice) while my friend and I did not. At the end of it all, it was $94 before tip!! I have NEVER had to pay that much anywhere else, and the service at every other salon has been way better!! I was dissapointed in the price for what we got. I looked at reviews for nail salons in my area. When I read the reviews for Haute Nails I thought I would try them out. The salon is clean and instruments are packaged which is a plus. The first time the nails I had done were perfect and I was very pleased. On subsequent visits I noticed that the staff spoke to each other in another language other than English. They would laugh and you never knew exactly what or who the joke was. I also noticed that if I tried to make conversation they would just ignore me. Yes I want good service, but I think that includes making your customers part of the experience. I had also overheard the staff complaining about a few of their customers. Too much drama and not enough concern for their customers. I would not recommend them, especially if you like being an active participant in your treatment. read more

I went here for a mani pedi based on the recommendation of a friend. The salon is clean and decorated very nicely but their customer service is lacking. When I got home from my pedicure it was sticky and gluey. Even several hours after my service my nails still felt gooey and as if the polish was not dry. The next morning my nails were still strangely sticky and to top it off they now they had lint stuck all over them from my carpet and bed sheets. (So gross!) I went to the salon as soon as it opened as i was flying out for a beach vacation in a few hours and I desperately needed my toe nails fixed. The salon explained that apparently my technician had used a gel or shellac polish by mistake on my nails and because they never cured them under the ultra violet light the polish never properly dried. They offered to fix them and they got me in right away which was great. But they had such an attitude. I felt like I had done something wrong by bothering them and going back. I am Caucasian and married to an Asian man and to top it off I actually heard them call me a derogatory name while talking amongst themselves. Save your money and your time and go to another nail salon where they will appreciate your business and treat you with respect. read more

Haute nails has been my go-to nail salon since last summer. This is the best salon ive been to. Its so posh with leather seats and marble floors. You can even choose a movie off netflix to watch! The ladies here are super genuine and kind. They treat you like you are one of their friends. I love when i call and the owner Sheila knows me by my name. The nail work is by far the best. They can actually do whatever photo inspiration you bring in to them. Also, they sterilize their tools. Their prices are a bit higher (60 for a fill) but trust me, its worth it for the quality. Ive been to cheaper places and you can totally tell the quality difference. Thanks haute nails, for making me feel like one of the girls and doing a bomb job on my nails every time. Awful. Went home and immediately took off the nails I spent 80.00 on.. I should have burned 80.00 at least my nails wouldn't have been in pain. I don't know who did my nails but they were flat, no curve, stuck up off of my nail bed and the "artwork" was ugly. Don't bring a picture in of what you want. You won't get it. Save your money and go to the cheap chop shop. $30.00 for a full set is $30.00 cheaper than what you will spend here and your nails will look the same. I'm so mad. A day after I had a pedicure done here my toes and feet flared up bright red, and felt like they were constantly burning. Went to the doctor and I've ended up with an infection usually seen from unclean nail salons and I'm on heavy antibiotics now for the next 2 weeks. I've followed the owner (Sheila) around throughout the years as she's moved from one nail salon to the next, and now set up her own shop. I've been a loyal customer - I only allow Sheila to touch my nails because I don't trust anyone else - and even though I live in downtown Vancouver, I still make the trek out to her new salon to see her (takes me an hour to commute!) because the nails she does for me are second to none! I see Sheila more as a nail artist - she doesn't treat her job as a job; instead each set of nails she does is her work of art and it clearly shows! The first time I entered her salon, I was shocked at how bright, chic and modern it looked; it looked more like a spread from a décor magazine than a nail salon and I was impressed. More important than the aesthetics though was the fact that she offered me coffee or tea when I entered (this is definitely uncommon for nail salons). I happily took a coffee and she made it an iced one since the day was hot, how thoughtful! My favourite thing about seeing Sheila for my nails is that she is always very thorough. I am an avid cuticle picker/biter and she always manages to clean them up so much that even my husband notices how good my cuticles look when I come home! Something that I ADORE about Haute Couture and Sheila is that they're serious when it comes to hygiene; I noticed that all the nail supplies she used came packaged in a sterilized pouch! How awesome is that? I have yet to see this concept anywhere else and I'm impressed! When it comes to the nails, Sheila offers several shapes for your nails (including the trendy "claws" and "coffin" styles) but I opted for a classic slightly rounded shape as I was going to a wedding. One week later, my nails are still going strong - no chips, just pure glossy gorgeous nails and sooo many people at the wedding commented on my gorgeous nails! I don't typically like designs or 3D art on my nails but I've seen Sheila's work on other girls and it's to die for!! If that's your thing, absolutely ask Sheila for it because she is a true nail artist. Regarding the review below regarding music vs television playing on the tv, when I asked Sheila to change the music for me, she promptly did, so don't be afraid to ask her to change to music if it'll make you more comfortable! I find Sheila extremely accommodating to her customers' needs and she'll even stay late for you, which I love. I would give them 0 stars if I could. We booked pedicures by appointment so I could treat my nieces. I was visiting from Edmonton and had a limited number of days. We thought booking an appointment would guarantee service. Boy were we wrong. We get there....walk inside.....and are told.....somebody forgot to write you in!!!!!!WTH. Then with the flimsiest apology ever made...she says....sorry....we have other bookings...we can't take you. Not a real I'm sorry, not an offer to make things right, or an offer to accommodate us. I've only been here a couple times so far. This salon is so modern, bright, and most importantly CLEAN. The girls who work here are really welcoming and friendly. I saw Vicky and Ivy and they both did an amazing job on my nails. I'm always so skeptical of getting designs on my nails but these girls did a wonderful job and exceeded my expectations. Never thought I'd actually love getting rhinestones lol! My only minor issue with this place is that their gel colors are on multiple small rings in a bin. I just wish they had those nail display trees so you don't potentially miss a nice color. Pricing is a little bit higher than average but you're paying for quality work so it's worth it to me. Other reviews are NOT EXAGGERATING. The women who work here are the BIGGEST B!tches. I have been regularly going there for months now, and thought maybe they weren't hospitable because they were having bad days. Go there to get a nail fixed a day after I got a whole new fresh set, and I was met with nothing but coldness and attitude and was told there was no time. I couldnt come in next for another week and when I did my nails had grown out a bit so, rather than just getting one fixed I got a fill done and another nail popped off the very next day and I was met with (again) so much attitude and not accommodated. Needed to make an appointment for one nail to get fixed. Couldn't come in for a couple days and yet another nail popped off. When I finally came in for my appointment the girls there were so impatient and rude and because I was having a hard time finding the colour i already had on, the one girl said they would just find something close to it. Like wtf. Then she proceeded to shake her head roll her eyes because I couldn't understand her horrid English and what she wanted me to do when she tapped my hand to let me know she was done- I thought it meant switch hands under the light (which is normally what that would mean). while they are good at doing nails this is the first time I would actually prefer shit nails over the shit staff there. I've tried so many nail salons over the past 10 years and this salon by far is the best. I get solar acrylic nails and I have very high standards. They some how manage to make your fingers look long and skinny with their special shaping techniques. I'm constantly getting compliments on my nails. I also like the fact that this salon isn't like your typical nail salon. You will not find cheap massage chairs, tacky decor, staff constantly speaking another language behind your back or filthy equipment. This place is clean, the staff is friendly and the decor is very contemporary and fresh. This is the only salon I've been to where the shellac or the matte doesn't stain - definitely top quality product. I also find that most salons take off too much skin during a pedicure, leaving your feet burning and tender for a couple days - I have NEVER experienced this at Haute Nails. SO disappointed with this place!!! Sheila and Jan are so rude, made me and my mother feel so unwelcomed. They seemed generally annoyed the entire time ontop of making us wait an hour after postponing our nails appointment half an hour already and didn't even apologize! I tried to say how I felt and Sheila just shut me down and argued with me. Safe to say I will never go back to this place. I was so excited to go there in the first place so it's really unfortunate it turned out this way when it didn't have too. I've heard from other people as well that they've had to wait long periods of time as well. I think organization is the main issue, maybe get a computer or front desk person instead of answering the phone every 10 minutes then having to flip through a notebook and write down whatever appointment while taking time away from the client. read more

I had planned on going to this salon for the first time. I had seen reviews on it and it seemed like a great place. I called and booked an appointment. I take transit, and I was running a bit behind, so I courteously called to let them know. The first time, after 10 rings, no one even answered. The second time I called, a very rude woman answered. When I let her know I was calling because I was running late, she rudely demanded to know how long I would be because "they booked other appointments". I told her I would probably only be about 15 minutes late. She then said they would be unable to do my nails until 5pm! My appointment was for 2. I explained I was already on the bus and nearly there. She said that's not my problem. I said ok fine, and hung up on her. I have been in customer service nearly all my life. That was the worst possible first impression you could give someone! I will NEVER use the services of this salon! If they are that rude on the phone, I have no intention of wasting my time going in. I was mad enough that I had to get off the bus, and wait in the rain and cold, to go home. In the end, I gave LA Nails my business. Amy did a great job and the prices are reasonable, the staff are great and it is clean and they give you nail kits to bring back on your next visit. Don't waste your time or money on Haute Nails. Been a few times. The staff does a decent job. However my last experience will deter me from coming back. Had my Nails done the day before. The next day I called to ask, if I could come in to get my gems put on. I was advised to come by for the specified time. When I got there I was told they don't have time and to come back. I advised them I had called and was instructed to come by for 430. They mentioned I had attitude, meanwhile there were other customers there when mentioned to me. I always see Sheila when I get my nails done but the rest of the girls are also amazing and I have had really lovely experiences with all of them. I have always walked out with perfectly shaped nails painted sooo neatly. They have an incredible colour selection and they keep their tools and shop in a meticulously clean condition. The prices are very reasonable compared to many other salons in the area and there are generally no long wait times when booking. I am SUPER PICKY when it comes to getting my nails done, high maintenance doesn't even begin to cover it. I tried 90% of the salons around my place and was routinely disappointed. I found Haute Nails on Instagram and haven't looked back since. I make the drive from Burnaby every three weeks because they are that good. I bring in photos/inspo from Pinterest or Instagram and they always come out looking WAY BETTER. I asked for the girl to fix my nail that she messed up and while I sat in the chair she sat their talking about me in a different language. I was on the phone with my friend who speaks the language and informed me that they were saying really awful things about me and the fact that they were loud enough for her to hear was rude and disrespectful on many levels. I questioned the girl asking her what the problem was and why they were talking about me and she said no no we are not and continued to face her colleague saying that I'm being rude!!!!! Figure that rude for standing up for my rights! I speak two different languages and it has nothing to do with that but the fact that I'm paying 85$ for good service and to relax but not feel like I'm being disrespected for asking for a mistake that she made to be corrected. Never again. I booked this appointment with my mom and maid of honour to get manis and pedis done for my wedding. Was told this was a decent place & it looks nice from the window so thought it'll be a great experience for getting my nails done for my wedding! Nope. I started getting my mani done first (with full gel nail set) and my mom and MOH were getting their pedis done. Would have been nice to sit with them as that's part of the experience. I didn't want super long nails, I hate not being able to use my hands because of long nails. The girl would not get it. She needed to trim the nails as it was super long but she filed them for a second. I even caught her rolling her eyes! My MOH came over and told the girl it needed to be shorter too but it was this refusal. Soooo weird. "It's not too long!" Is what two of them were saying. They are my nails, you don't dictate what length suits me. By the time my pedicure came around both my mom and MOH were done with their services and it was just me. Experience was over, so I didn't complete the whole pedicure. So lame & waste of money and time. For the amount you spend, go elsewhere. This wasn't any different than those cheap nail salons. A typical Vietnamese run salon, only this one just has fancier pedicure chairs and lighting. When I arrived for my 5 pm appointment that was booked the day before for a set of Acrylic nails, I was given a cool reception. I got the impression there wasn't enough time to take my appointment. The girl doing my nails had to keep asking her manager/person in charge, who was seated next to us while working on her laptop, (inappropriate in my opinion) for approval when I asked if she could make some adjustments. They spoke only in Vietnamese. The manager was rude towards me. I felt uncomfortable, as though I was a problem to them. Plus they are overpriced, you are only paying the higher prices because of the location in South Surrey. $60.00 when you can get the same service elsewhere for $40.00!! Their reason for their prices is "they use higher quality products than most other salons"...I highly doubt it! I've been to many other salons and never had such an uncomfortable experience....
