Went on a whim with a friend for brunch over the holiday weekend. Cafe was busy but a nice atmosphere. Ordered avocado toast which was topped with tomato, olive oil, and red pepper flakes - delightfully tasty. Cappuccino was lovely. We also shared one of their cupcakes as a dessert, which did not disappoint as it was sweet and light. Everything was reasonably priced for the quality and atmosphere. Based on reading other Yelp reviews, we decided to give this spot the ol' college try. It's small and charming. The atmosphere is great with both period specific colonial detail and some more modern furniture pieces. It's a beautiful spot. We went in for lunch and I got a Turkey BLT (not on the menu) and it was GREAT. Everything was fresh. My fiancé got the salad with all sorts of goodies on it and she loved it as well. No question we will be back. Wish they had wifi as the cell service is poor, but maybe it's good to be disconnected every now and then! read more

I had a great experience here! I ordered an iced green tea and a grilled cheese sandwich, both of which were great. I wasn't a huge fan of the side that was served with the sandwich - some kind of rice with cranberries? - and I wish I had known what it was beforehand so I could've asked for chips or something. The only annoying thing is that the space is really small, and the line was very long, so I was crammed in very close quarters with strangers for about 10 minutes when I ordered, and then stood awkwardly in a doorway to wait for my sandwich for 10 more minutes. read more

This place is the best! My friend and I went for a hike with my dog at Minuteman early one morning and wanted to get breakfast afterwards so we stopped in here. Everything about this place is adorable, friendly, and delicious. They had a water bowl outside for dog's which mine appreciated greatly after our hike in the summer weather. Breakfast selection was great and staff was friendly and helpful (I had a few questions and they happily answered them. The inside is nice, with a smallish room where you can place your order and a cute, spacious dining room, plus outdoor seating. I ordered the avocado toast and an iced cappuccino which really hit the spot. The coffee was great and the avocado was fresh and generously sliced. My friend got a sticky bun and a breakfast sandwich both of which she greatly enjoyed. Bonus: they use Iggy's bread which is fantastic! I wish this place was closer to me because I can't wait to go back. Note: This place is set back from the road so my friend and I were a little confused when our GPS said that we had arrived and we couldn't find it anywhere. Do NOT recommend! I ordered a small iced latte with an extra shot of espresso. It was extremely bitter with a horrific after taste. A small iced latte has no business being $7! Along with this disappointing coffee, i ordered a bacon egg and cheese on sourdough bread. When i received the sandwich, it was minuscule and the egg didn't fill the bread. Not to mention that the so called "sandwich" was only on a 1/2 slice of bread. The wait time was ridiculous and the quality was horrendous. Waste of time and the staff was very rude and dismissive. I've stopped several times at Haute Coffee for breakfast sandwiches, coffee, or pastries while weekend cycling. Pros: It's cozy and tasty. Cons: It's slow and crowded. On the weekend when I've been here there's been a nontrivial line to order plus we'd needed to camp by tables to grab an empty seat. A cappuccino came out faster than regular coffee (because they do some drip, regular coffee). Haute hasn't been unworkably crowded, but as a weekend cycling stop, Fern's Country Store in Carlisle is far more efficient. On the other hand, Haute is cute, cozy, and warm. read more

I was in Concord early one day working on the wayside house and forgot to grab breakfast. I saw there was a cafe and hopped in to grab a quick cup of coffee and an egg sandwich. I didn't realize it was a place that did pour overs rather than drip coffee so any complaints I'd have on time are on me. Honestly, for the style of production they were quick. The staff was polite and helpful, and yeah, they made a good cup of coffee. Is it how I'd get my coffee every day? probably not. Is it how I'd get my coffee on a weekend when I had some time to sit and read? definitely. The egg sandwich was decent if a bit small. Overall the place was good, and perhaps it's just my expectations that mismatch. I'm generally of the opinion that an egg sandwich and a cup of coffee shouldn't really need anything particularly fancy about them, the best ones are simple. read more

Very "low" Haute Cafe! So pompous and pretentious and so little to show for it! This review is way overdue; I have first visited the place few weeks after it opened and since find myself there ONLY when someone I meet with suggests the place as his "favorite". The ignorance of the barista(s) hasn't changed much since the opening days. They can recite some big words but have now idea about coffee (maybe it is wrong for me to expect a barista in such a place to know what is a Caffè macchiato). Last I have been there, last week, I have ordered Earl Grey and asked for a touch of hot milk. I was charged 75 Cents extra for the milk(!!!!) and got foamed milk into my tea - ignorance coupled with penny-pinching. We set there for about 40 minutes - our table was dirty when we got there (cleaned by us) and so were other tables. Nobody cleaned the tables or other areas in the 40 minutes we set there (week day), and each client had to clean his/her own table when they took over from people who left. At one stage I have heard the gentleman who runs the place explaining to one of the clients that their grinding machine is the best in the world - maybe it is, but your public areas and tables are DIRTY and your barista is way sub-par. I am well aware that by writing such a review about a highly regarded and highly rated place, I dissent from the multitudes who rave about this place, but let's face it, most people drink Starbucks and think it is good coffee.... read more

Many of the listed items on the board, some interesting, we ordered. "Oh, we don't have any of those ," was the response to all three requests. We waited five minutes to order, while the young baristas chatted behind the coffee machine. They td us to take a seat and they would bring our lattes and large cappuccinos. We waited and waited. Overall 4.5/5 stars. I live in New Hampshire and work at a specialty coffee shop in downtown Exeter. I had been wanting to scope out this coffee shop near my hometown since I caught wind of its existence a few months ago, and finally got a chance to visit today. My mom and I stopped in after a couple of hours of cross-country skiing at Great Brook, seeking a delicious beverage to warm us up. Walking in, we were greeted with friendly faces, a fine display of baked goods on the counter and a gorgeous bright orange La Marzocco machine on the far end. This beaut would be responsible for pumping out the delicious single-origin Papua New Guinea espresso I ordered as a precursor to lunch (to gauge how delicious their espresso is in its un-a-milk-erated form). We were both pleased to see soup on the menu board, which also drew our attention to the other Haute Coffee food offerings. We ordered a cup of the tomato basil soup each and a mozzarella pesto sandwich to share that came with a side of French cucumber salad. Ike informed us that they would bring the food out to our table once we found a seat, which is always a nice embellishment on service. The espresso came first, and it was amazing! Clean, bright, fruity. I was exceptionally pleased with the quality of the shot. A real treat to drink tasty espresso on my day off that is not from the shop I work at. 5/5 stars! The soup came out piping hot and the sandwich thereafter. They were nice enough to split our sandwich onto two plates. Another service plus, since you don't always get such forethought at cafes. The flavors were simple and delicious and the sandwich paired with the soup delightfully. The ciabatta bread for the sandwich was divine, the warm crustiness of it all complementing the gooey mozzarella and savory pesto. The French cucumber salad was also a nice touch, which I enjoyed thoroughly. Round two comprised of two cappuccinos, a pecan tart and a sticky bun. The cappuccinos were served with a lovely free-pour flourish by the barista and the pastries were brought, again, to the table. I asked for my sticky bun warmed up (fully aware I was getting it microwaved), however the cruel reality of microwaving puff pastry is that is makes the dough a bit more toothsome. I also took into consideration that we were ordering pastries at 2 pm which had likely been made that morning. Delicious nonetheless. Haute Coffee has quite an assortment of delicious looking treats and, quite frankly, I had a hard time deciding! The cappuccinos were "pretty good". My mom had no complaints, but my palate is that of a snobby Italian baby and I thought the drink was a little too hot and the texture of the milk lacking that really luxurious microfoam. However, that wasn't enough for me to be totally turned off by my drink. On our way out, I decided I would buy some retail coffee because I enjoyed the espresso so much. I asked if they had any bags of the Papua New Guinea with a more recent roast date. Ike acknowledged my trickery, but happily obliged my request (much appreciated). He even threw in a sample of another coffee as well! Everything about the experience was just so downright pleasant and lovely. So long as I am in the area, I will continue to visit and refer my friends to this shop. I wish them the best success and am happy to see places like this popping up in more rural areas.
