Late night food run...after a very tiring day with more than 2 hours of exercise and being up since 6 am in the morning, I was starving. That ole saying, that I was so hungry I could eat horse applied...ok maybe not a whole horse but definitely a chicken. Smile. In route home, I texted my hubby and he put in his Hattie B's order with me. We ordered chicken wings with crinkle fries (the hubs) and me bone in chicken with cheesy grits (one of my delights in life). It was approximately 11 pm when I was picking up our order. Pretty good chicken. The food does take a few minutes to cook and come out. The service is really good. They did forget one of my tenders and gave our missing one with no problems. The coleslaw is not watery which is good. The hot option on the chicken is really hot. The moment I decide to test out the heat at a new chicken spot I actually suffer for it. Late post!! My brother family visited us in the winter break, and they like fried chicken, we have tried Hattie bs in Nashville but not in Austin, so decided to give it a try. We were 4adults, 1 teenager and 1toddler, ordered a bunch of stuff. Drinks and waffles were decent, service was okay, my brother picked spice level medium, and we all went with dang hot, since that's what we get at Tumble 22. But dang hot here is unbeatable spicy, and we do eat quite spicy food, more than that, the spice was burned to black, I'm guessing they have tossed fried chicken in spice powder and flash fried again or something, because you can see and taste it, it was disgustingly inedible to eat(you can see in the pic), I ordered jumbo chicken strips, and it was a joke, it was not even the size of Chick-fil-A chicken strips, as anyway I couldn't eat it I dint care. read more

Their service was exceptional! We are so glad Yelp brought us here. It was delicious! We ordered three mild tenders with mac & cheese cheese, three medium tenders with fries, a kids, no spice, tender with fries, and 2 damn hot and one clucking hot tender with grits. They have excellent waffles as well as a nice variety of drinks. It's cold right now, but they have fans overhead and I am so happy that there is such a spacious patio at the domain. Came during their friends and family soft opening and had a blast! I'm a huge fan of Hattie Bs and excited to see one open up at the domain. You simply order at the counter and they will bring out your food! I'm a huge fan of the tenders and Mac and cheese. Chicken is very juicy with a hint of heat. I know the medium is pretty hot too. I had Hattie Bs in Nashville during a road trip and was excited that they opened locations in Austin. I don't come to the domain much but I finally had a chance to check it out on a Saturday for early dinner. The service was pretty quick but the menu seems a bit scarce in comparison to the one in Nashville. I got the three piece tenders medium heat with pimento Mac and cheese and a strawberry lemonade with vodka frozen. The tender was good but I really enjoyed the pimento Mac and cheese and the frozen didn't even taste like it has alcohol in it. Parking are available in the garage. THE BLACK AND WHITE: One of my favorite Nashville hot chicken spots. Let me tell you, the hot is very hot. THEN there's the two heat enthusiast levels. No way Jose. Those are the Damn Hot and the Shut The Cluck Up. You won't see me trying that any time soon. I usually get a quarter bird with the breast and the wing, boned in and with medium spice. I tried hot last time and it was very hot. Don't say I didn't warn you. They also serve booze and boozy cocktails if you want to cool off the heat with some libations. My first time here and man it did not disappoint. Shout out to Cassie John, & Trish for the amazing customer service. They gave great advice on the different spice levels and even let me sample the Damn Hot . I got a mix of items to try. The 3 piece tender and bacon cheese grits were amazing . Grits were cheesy and full of flavor and the tenders were HUGE & so juicy . I got them HOT and it was a perfect amount of heat . I got the damn hot on the side since I love spicy things . Hear me out: I went from living in Los Angeles, the best selections of food the culinary world has to offer...where you can eat your way through the entire world in one city...to Texas, where hot chicken, BBQ and subpar tacos now dominate my life. Party crowds, chaotic parking and weird out of towners, but the joy in her eyes was so bright that I just couldn't kill it. I couldn't dim her light, so off we went. I'll give credit where it's due...the staff at Hattie B's is SUPER kind, welcoming, and efficient. The place is clean, bright, and exactly what you expect from a trendy fast food establishment: neon signs, chicken paraphernalia, and a menu that knows what's up. They know their lane. I wasn't in a hot chicken mood (I never am), so I stuck to sides: crinkle-cut fries, no salt, side of ranch...and I was curious about the bacon cheddar grits. The grits were shockingly creamy!!! Actually, so creamy I almost thought they were cheesy mashed potatoes for a second. Not traditional, but honestly pretty good. Fries were standard, no complaints. Sauces are all prepackaged, not house-made. Just fyi. My niece got her usual hot chicken with greens and baked beans, and Baby Kori got a kids' tenders plate (which they GENEROUSLY added extra tenders to! Much appreciated). The tenders were super tender but mild in flavor, as expected for a kids' meal. I'd be open to coming back to try the actual hot chicken someday. Someday, MAYBE. I gotta be in the mood. Super cute new chicken spot that was definitely need in The Domain area. It was my bf and I's first time ever and we enjoyed our visit. Of course there was a line since this was around the first week they opened. However, the service was quick and the staff were on point! The lady that took our order actually gave us samples and great suggestions. The inside was a little tight due to the crowd but the patio is beautiful and offers tons of space. They also have tv's for entertainment. Food wise, we went with classic bone in and everything was fresh! This is the second location of the Nashville hot chicken chain to open in Austin, but the first I've gotten to visit since it's so conveniently located in the Domain. It's right by the parking garage in what used to be Curry Up, but has been completely overhauled to make it their own with plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating. And everyone was so helpful and ready to bring refills and check on anything we needed. Even the mild chicken is more spicy than I expected so I'm afraid of the super hot levels they offer, but I enjoyed my salad with plenty of chicken and vegetables including some like corn and black-eyed peas I wasn't expecting. Hot fried chicken--need I say more? I got to check out the new Hattie B's during their soft opening this week and was definitely not disappointed! Located in Domain NORTHSIDE it's surrounded by great restaurants and bars, making it a perfect spot for a fun night out or a casual lunch. Since I stopped by on my lunch break I couldn't fully dive into the full experience, but my order came out quickly which I really appreciated. I went with the Hot Tenders and sides of Queso Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans. The tenders packed a serious kick, but the sides and a little ranch helped cool things down. For those who like to play with heat they've got both milder and extra hot options, plus chicken sandwiches and bone-in plates. Bloody napkin on the restroom floor. If you don't clean your restrooms where customers can see how do you treat places customers can't see? Then I understood why the restroom hadn't been cleaned when I went up to order and the two staff members who where at the first register where annoyed to have to work. The girl asked my wife if she wanted white or dark meat chicken breast... I don't know if she just doesn't know or if she was just trying to be smart with us but dang it's our first time and we have all this weird energy just for showing up with smiles and hungry. I asked if the kids meal came with anything special or specific sides and was told " I guess if you want a side " . Hey I'm new I'm not here all day like you are I just walked in found a nasty bloody napkin in your restroom on the floor and got weird attitude in the first 5 min of arriving. Anyways our table was super dirty and the guy wiping all the other tables down look at us and skipped over our table and we even stepped back to get out of his way and he still didn't wipe all the splattered sauce someone else had dropped. Meanwhile we had a high chair and all the low tables except that one were taken. So I had to get several paper towels and some water from the drink fountain and wipe it down twice to get all the sauce off. After we received our food I saw that we where missing a couple items and all of our sauce so I told the guy who brought it (same guy wiping the tables) and he was like ok let me go get those items then literally walked over to the phone looked right at me and started talking to someone and never brought our stuff. I had to go and ask twice at the counter for the other items till I got them. The food was mediocre and just basic fast food in a Domain location. The chicken was bland the sauces are typical pre packed fast food chain sauces and the desert tastes like it comes pre packaged we got half a mushed peach in our cobbler. Nothing that we got was worth returning, the greens were under seasoned the Mac n cheese was mush but I will leave this on a good note --the grits were actually good. Actually I hope they close up and move on with this place so we can get something else on this corner. Extremely BAD customer service!!!! I'm rooting for it . Presentation over quality The restaurant looks really nice; bright colors, lights (too bright of white light imo), super clean, well-organized, merch (clothing and spices), variety of seating options (indoor and outdoor), great location easily walkable on the corner at the end of Rock Rose. Menu is simple and straight forward; primarily tenders, sandwich, or larger portions, each coming at your level of spiciness with a sauce on the side (ranch, blue cheese, honey mustard, bbq). Prices are pretty decent and worth it for the size of meal (~$12 for 3 large tenders) Service is great; order, sit, and they bring it to you fairly quickly. We got - 3 tenders (hot) with blue cheese - 3 tenders (medium) with honey mustard - crinkle cut fries - cheesy grits - coleslaw - lemonade *GOOD* I don't like potato wedges because they can be too starchy and don't hold a fry very well; sometimes crinkle cut fries can be like that as well and either over or under seasoned but these were actually quite nicely fried and seasoned the right amount so that was a nice surprise. Cheesy grits - are exactly that; ~1 cup worth of rich bacon and cheese filled gritty goodness. You could eat more than that but you probably don't need to, for your waist's sake. Although I'm not a big fan of American coleslaw because it's mayo-based and can be overly dressed, this wasn't too heavy and had a nice mix of veggies to cut and complement the heaviness of the grits. Honey mustard was ok but not as honey-y as I like. *ODD* Blue cheese might have been one of the weirdest things we had. While it was creamy, there wasn't much actual blue cheese in it, and it tasted *vinegary* - certainly not something you're expecting or wanting in a blue cheese sauce *COULD BE BETTER* - Dry Both sets of tenders were over-battered and dry. We certainly had to use a lot of sauces and eat alongside with coleslaw and lemonade to moisten it up. - Not much flavor While Hot was about the right amount of hotness, without the sauces there really isn't much actual flavor. I had the spicier versions once before (yes even Shut the Cluck Up) and found that it is just that - Spicy. The vibes are nice, though outside is loud with the cars going up and down the street. Chicken here is super juicy and portions are good sized, so you'll definitely be leaving full. It was my last evening in Austin. My hotel was fairly close to The Domain so I decided to walk over for dinner. If you've never been to The Domain, it's a huge outdoor mall/lifestyle center. The previous visit, it was gloomy and overcast and the place looked like a ghost town. Tonight, it was teeming with people. The restaurant options can be overwhelming. I decided to skip all that noise the second I saw "Nashville Hot Chicken." Don't let the "chain restaurant" or "franchise" designations deter you. Hattie B's is a solid eat. It's one of those places that makes you wish you could come back a few more times. I ordered two tenders and three jumbo wings. The tenders were juicy and delicious. I was already pretty full on just the tenders and thought I could just polish off with three "jumbo" wings so I wouldn't have to take anything back to the hotel. Folks, when Hattie B calls them jumbo wings on their menu, they're not lying. These wings were a meal on their own but I'm a glutton for punishment and couldn't stop eating because mama didn't raise no quitter. Lessons learned: I wussed out and got medium heat which I regretted on the first bite. I should have ordered my chicken hot because I could barely taste the heat. It was there but not very noticeable to me. All that was out was ketchup. I wish they had some hot sauce available. They may very well have, I just didn't notice it or know to ask. So we went. This is my third time trying Hattie B's: first during SXSW 2023, second at their Lamar location, and third here at The Domain. Upon walking in, the vibe is hip. The touches of red throughout the building are tight, and the trap music in the speakers gives the atmosphere a fun energy. I ordered three of their tenders medium while my girlfriend ordered two mild. Upon getting the tenders, I felt like their medium was nothing. I'm not the most spice-tolerant guy, but it just didn't feel like it was truly that spicy. The tenders were very crispy and tender, all while served on a flimsy piece of white bread, the Nashville way. I got a side of their bacon cheddar grits on a whim and thought they were okay, but that was just a mistake on my behalf since I don't really even like grits. I wasn't converted. Previous ventures to Hattie B's tell me that their fries are supreme, and I knew that but didn't act correctly. It was my first time visiting this restaurant and this new location in The Domain with my coworkers. I ordered the salad (no spicy), but it still had a little kick, probably from being in contact with the other ingredients. My coworkers ordered the spicy options, and even the mild one was pretty strong! So I'd say this place is definitely for people who really love spicy food. I personally like put some spicy in my food, but only when I can control it, like with a sauce on the side. I ordered the salad and it was very tasty, the chicken was delicious, and everything felt super fresh. The service was 10/10. The place itself is really cool too. We went around 12:30pm and it was pretty busy but everything came out fairly quickly. If you dine in, they kindly bring the food to your table, which is a nice touch. Hatties B's at The Domain. I was transported to the order counter by the angelic voice of Lurther Vandross "Here and Now" in the background. The decor reminded me of a modern diner with the colors of gingham as the inspiration. This is just my interpretation. Love the type front of Hattie's behind the counter. I really appreciate seeing the charity partner, The Busyhead Project, highlighted on the menu board. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw and a side of pimento mac-n-cheese to go. Dre at the counter was really helpful, friendly, and patient while helping me decide spice level, sides, sauces, and topping. The ratio of fried chicken to toasted bun is good with a perfect amount of sauce and pickles. Finally found a place that knows how to serve a fried chicken with a good crunchy exterior and a juicy interior. The mayo based coleslaw tasted crisp and clean not greasy and quite refreshing to cut the spice of the fried chicken. As for a medium level spice there was a lot of heat, couldn't pick up much flavor of the spice. The pimento mac-n-cheese had a nice peppery kick to it. I really like the portion and container of the sauce. I picked the honey mustard. It is really thoughtful of Hattie B's to have a dipping sauce container of this size for the sauce and for dipping. Omg i just went to the soft opening of Hattie B's new location in the Domain and tried almost everything on the menu. Yes i feel a little sick, but that's my own problem for eating so much delicious food and them not saying "no" every time I said i wanted to try something else. The dirty bird fries are so good, covered in mac & cheese and either fried or grilled chicken. I got the fried for the most flavor (and Hot heat level was a lot but manageable)!! Then i got 3 huge strips of chicken (again hot level) and barely finished one cause i was full from the dirty bird fries. The mac & cheese with pimento had a nice kick to it as a side, and my friend said the fried pickles were great (i don't do pickles myself). For dessert we shared the amazing banana pudding which my friend thought may have had a rum flavor to it. I dont know, but it was delicious. I didn't eat the Nila cookies cause i wanted to savor the pudding taste. The sweet buttery waffle with vanilla ice cream was the best way to end the meal! Then since the food was free for us, I took home the salad (the photo) and will write about it later when i eat again.., right now i can't think about eating, I ate soooo much delicious food. I went for the Medium spicy chicken sandwich, and it was the whole package--a crunchy, juicy, sweet yet savory, perfectly spiced piece of chicken that didn't hold back. The sauce they use was yummmm, and that cool, creamy slaw with a little pickle tang on top? Genius. Plus, they nailed the chicken-to-bun ratio (no sad, bready bites here). The fries were solid, and I'm so glad I added the collard greens--they were excellent. Pro tip: get the lemonade. It's terrific, and they have that good, chewable ice that makes every sip better. I'm a big fan of Hattie B's. I'll be honest. I like my food spicy. So, my wife picked up a Shut the Cluck Up spice level for me, which has ghost peppers. I finished it, but it was a struggle LOL. I had tears running down my face and my nose was sniffling. I plan to go back, but I'll probably stick with Hot or Damn Hot flavor. So just a heads up for those who like spicy because they can make things very spicy. Regardless, I enjoyed the food and the service. The atmosphere is great. It's the overall bitterness in the spice that detracts from the overall taste experience. You can't taste any other added spice like paprika, garlic, or anything, and you're only left with a bitter heat. Additionally, you can really tell that they heavily rely on either potato or corn starch for the crunch. I love that the heat levels vary widely so you can go for mild to super hot! I decided to test my limits and try the spiciest level. Let's just say that surpassed my limits! Worth a try if you're a daredevil but I will stick to medium moving forward. The chicken is crispy and so flavorful. The beans are a tasty sweet and barbecuey flavor. Hattie B's was one of my favorite chicken spots in TN, so I was happy to see them opening up a location in Austin! I ordered their Wings and got the "Hot" level. As someone who really enjoys the heat kick, "Hot" was the perfect spice level for me (not too spicy, but still giving a good kick. I tend to tolerate spicy well). However, I know this heat level isn't for everyone. My husband thought "Mild" was really spicy. So definitely be cautious when determining which heat level to choose. Some of the sides that I wanted to try weren't available (i.e., creamy corn), so I hope to try those when they do become available. The fries were crispy which was great. The staff are super attentive and nice. I also liked that this location has both indoor and outdoor covered seating. I came on a nice day so I was able to enjoy the nice breeze outside while eating my wings. Another plus is that it's located in the Domain, what a great way to walk off those calories by shopping or leisurely walking in the area! read more

Tried out the new Hattie B's at the Domain and I'm so glad I did! From the moment we walked in, everything was so smooth and quick -- we ordered fast and got our food even faster. The staff was honestly the best part. They were super helpful, checked in on us, cleared our table without us having to ask, and even offered to refill our drinks when they noticed they were low. The food was delicious (as expected!) and the whole experience just felt easy and welcoming. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend checking it out! read more

Tried Hattie B's at The Domain and left pretty disappointed. I ordered the 5-piece wings, which came on toast with two small pickles, ranch, and their house sauce I paid extra for. The chicken was extremely oily and tasted surprisingly under-seasoned, even though the heat level itself was solid. It felt more like biting into oil and spice than flavorful chicken. Both sauces were mid at best and didn't do much to help the overall experience. Parking is atrocious during busy times, which is expected for The Domain, but still worth noting since parking is very limited. Inside was somewhat clean, though we did have to wipe crumbs off the table before sitting down. On the plus side, staff came by to check on us, which was nice. I paid around $10, and for what you get, it didn't feel worth it. I'm open to the idea that I may have ordered the wrong item, but based on this visit, the chicken and sauces didn't live up to the hype! I may have to try a different menu item next time read more

Out of all the hot chicken places I've been too, this one is THE BEST !!! To me what really sets them apart from the others is, you can get regular chicken here, and not just tenders as all the other hot chicken places offer. Service was great, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Dine indoors or outdoors. The chicken (leg n thigh) was excellent, though the hot to me had very little kick, nonetheless, it was Slap Yo Momma Good as was the greens. read more
