Husband and I were out on a ride when we drove by and decided to stop for lunch. What a great decision! We started with some iced tea and it was fresh, home made, delicious in a glass. Husband got the burger and I got the chicken sandwich and both were amazing! The burger was fresh and juicy, and the potatoes were delicious! My chicken sandwich was possibly one of the best things I've ever eaten. The chicken was fresh the avocado was fresh, the bread was amazing! This is the first time I have ever been to Hash. I was driving by and decided to stop. The place was super simple and clean. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. The kitchen is a semi-open concept so you can see the chef while he's preparing the food. The food was EXCELLENT. Fresh and light. Would definitely go back and highly recommend. read more

Delicious food, disappointing service but not the waitstaff's fault. However overwhelmed they were though, the waitstaff was not apologetic nor did they acknowledge the problems. They needed better management. I never got my coffee until I was done with my breakfast and took it to go. :( Would love to try again but I feel like the flow was off because of the amount of to go orders they were trying to fulfill instead of having a focus on the dining room guests. I just left Hash with very bad taste in myouth. My properly vested and documented Service Dog, Lucky, and I entered and stated we wished to have lunch. The greeter stayed no dogs were allowed. I pointed out that he was a properly documented Service Dog with appropriate vest and ID, but was still refused entry because the chef had a severe dog allergy. Chef was in kitchen, isolated from dining floor. Greeter told us to leave again, but said we could phone in an order and it would be brought out to their exterior seat. Unfortunately, we haven't been over there in a while because it didn't have indoor seating during Covid, but I still dream about their Moroccan lamb burger, flavored with merguez spices. Er. Mah. It looks like someone spilled water on my plate. They need to fire the chef n get a new one who can cook breakfast and does it fast. I dont care if its busy (it wasnt even that busy) ...He can't definitely work in the city. They need to fire those servers and need to get ones who are more friendly to ALL customers and not just who ever they pick. Horrible customer service! I've been to Hash several times under 3 different ownership schemes. Today was, by far, the worst experience I've had for what should have been a simple interaction. I called in my "to-go" order when I was 10 minutes away. I waited for the better part of 25 minutes after I arrived. When i sought to confirm that another order wasn't in fact my order, the counter person looked at a co-worker and rolled her eyes as if my question was unreasonable. My order included a Macchiato and a Vietnamese coffee. When I arrived I was handed 2 unmarked cups with lids. When I asked which was which I was told the lighter one was the macchiato. Turns out they were both espresso! In fairness, I did see them go out of their way to cater to a couple of "regular" customers but based on today's experience I think I'll forego trying to become a member of that crowd. read more

Scrumptious, fresh breakfast bowls (one of the specials was roasted cauliflower with bacon, sunny-side-up eggs, red onions, and multi-grain toast--so good), and a whole array of fresh-squeezed juices. I've passed Hash a few times, but I never get there when it's open. Today I managed to come at the right time, and everything was amazing - incredible stew and one of the best sandwiches that I have ever had. Mixed bag really. The food is prepared with care, just not always well thought out. You shouldn't serve toast and a croissant at the same time (Chef Breakfast). The Coconut Curry Tofu Hash was such a hero that my wife still dreams about it. Given the service failures that we suffered through; however, it's not enough to get us back in the door. The servers made us feel as though we were constantly making some terrible faux pas and they were just being righteously judgmental. We're not difficult customers, we just want a good meal, and don't sour the creamer with constant glowering in our direction. Living in NYC as we do, I'm a little tired of experiencing this kind of posh BS. Pretentiousness and thinly veiled hostility does not ad value to a dining experience. They are poor substitutes for kindness, a friendly spirit and generosity. Similarly, if you are a bakery/coffee house/brunch spot/whatever, don't mess with people's coffee. Bring it first and offer to refill it, or ask us if we would like another one if refilling is somehow beneath your restaurant concept. Despite ordering coffee at the same time as our meal, we were half way through our breakfast before it arrived. No one came by to check if we needed any more despite the bowl sized coffee cups that sat empty on our table. After they served us our food and coffee they mostly left us to our own devices. I should say that we sat at a high traffic table that servers were buzzing by every minute or so. Less than attentive in my book. Along the same lines, it took forever to get our check. So, we'd love to go back and have that lovely tofu hash, but we won't because of the hip-deep attitude one has to wade through to get to a table. Only lost one star because he ambience took a hit post pandemic. Feels a little cafeteria like now whereas before it had a cozy family friendly vibe (with reusable dishes and forks for kids and adults, toys and books for kids, a changing table in bathroom and table service). Now it's more of a typical cafe with great food. The kids love the Nutella waffle and will actually eat the eggs here (which is shocking because usually trying to get them to eat eggs is like pulling teeth). read more

Was a little hesitant with the mix of reviews, but that's never stopped me, and it was certainly worth it. We had the Hash 402 and Italian Breakfast, along with Coffee and Sangria and everything was amazing. The home made sausage has a brilliant spice profile, and the garlic toast had the amazing bite of raw garlic that's so frequently missed. Great little breakfast spot in Stone Ridge! My husband and I were staying at Hasbrouck House just down the street and came here both mornings. The first day we sat down and had breakfast/coffee which was really tasty. The second morning we stopped in for iced coffee and a chocolate chip cookie (so good). They use coffee ice cubes in their cold brew so it doesn't get watered down as it melts! Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. read more

Superb restaurant with adventurous cooking using local ingredients. I asked Hash to do the catering for a two day event at a nearby retreat - tough for anyone given that you need to deliver food and keep it hot, plus cater for a range of dietary needs. Page Moll, the chef, did an incredible job, and his love for cooking and his customers shows in everything he does. A superb, varied menu, perfectly executed. Everyone on the retreat gave it rave reviews and left with a big tray of leftovers. The beef brisket, peanut butter cookies and moroccan chicken were all particular highlights, but everything was delicious. read more

We cannot say enough good things about our favorite breakfast spot. We are both over the moon for their house-smoked brisket. To accompany this, a small sampling of their homemade pickles and sun-dried tomatoes and fresh leafy greens that are lightly coated with a delicious vinaigrette. But their fingerlings... just... oh my. The staff is always so kind and pleasant and their barista makes a gorgeous, delectable turmeric latte that warms my soul. I just want to start by saying I didn't have a chance to eat here, I was excited to try it based on the yelp reviews but was turned away illegally by the owner due to having my service dog. He told me that by bringing my service dog into his dining room that I would be jeopardizing his business and that the health department would fine him. Based on ADA (Americans with disabilities act) that is entirely untrue and unlawful. I have never been so hurt or embarrassed in my life. I had been to several other restaurants in the area and had no issues. I will be filing a report with the department of justice and hope he doesn't continue to illegally deny access to other customers who rely on their service dogs . read more
