Went for lunch and the food was delicious with decently large portions. While we waited for food to come out we were given corn bread with a berry butter that was fantastic. Was greeted by a dead rat out front of the front door about 10 feet. Then the food, which was horrible. The gravy on the biscuit looked like it was creamed soupy flour with black chunks that I guess was supposed to be some sort of sausage, but it looks like flex of large pieces of pepper, but about the size of a small pencil eraser. Had zero flavor except a flour taste or something not real sure. Sent it back telling her it was not good, she just went over and scraped in the garbage. However, we did pay for it never took it off the bill. I would've thought that maybe it would've been brought to the attention of the manager so then they can maybe fix the problem whatever it is. This was on a Sunday morning not busy at all. Toast was also burnt which I mentioned to the waitress with no offer for a replacement you could clearly see it was burnt. The potatoes were homestyle which are deep-fried, so we asked for hash browns, was served burnt homestyle potatoes, so we asked to get them replaced, which she gladly did. Omelet had hardly any ingredients in it and luckily, we asked for the hollandaise sauce on the side because that was also a gritty sauce as well, with a slight lemon flavor at best. The hasbrowns and our pancake was the best of the wholemeal. We will never be back sad to say. Should have some standards of food quality in order to keep people coming back. The wait staff should also be sure the consistency is there they get the first look at food before serving and that clearly did not happen. read more

I tried Hash for the first time yesterday. I'm always looking for a great breakfast place. I've been hearing mixed reviews, so I wanted to find out for myself. They weren't very busy at 9:30 AM, which I thought was weird for a breakfast place. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I ordered an omelet with their breakfast potatoes. They serve a complimentary mini-loaf of cornbread. It, and the spread that came with it, were very good. The omelet was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. Next time, I will go with the hashbrowns instead of the breakfast potatoes. The biscuit was very good. The bright point was the service. My server was Jackie, and she was outstanding. Very attentive and friendly. She checked on me often, but not annoyingly so. My coffee and water never got more than half empty. Overall, the food was good. The service was outstanding. Really wanted to like it but....nope. The pistachio pancake is one of the worst pancakes I have ever had...the batter used gives a definite bitter aftertaste. Will not order again. The omelettes were loaded with a ton of grilled onion...which is fine if you like them, but an unpleasant surprise if you don't. They were also small....way too small for the nearly $20 bill. The smoked salmon omelette was full of grilled onions and dry over salted salmon pieces. The best part of the meal was the little mini corn meal loaf with flavored butter. I have gone to the Olympia location multiple times and have always had a great experience. I decided to try the new Centralia location because it is closer to we're my family lives and we always go out to eat when I come in to town. I'm so sad to say it's nothing like the Olympia location. I really wish they executed the food better my food wasn't hot it wasn't even warm so if you like cold food this is the place for you. The Centralia location is bigger so that's nice and server was friendly. I might give this location another try but hopefully they make sure food comes out hot next time. read more

It was quite a letdown after seeing the parking lot full and hearing that the opening was much anticipated. First we were given a small complementary loaf of corn bread. It was cold and too sweet. I think it even had vanilla in it. I found it inedible. We ordered the Applewood Smoked Ham & Gouda Omelet. The server assured us that the portions were large so we opted to split an order. The portion was only average. The potatoes were edible but not sure why they were so dark. It was supposed to be topped with hollandaise but I did not see any. The coffee was mediocre, as was the service. One sugar packet in the bowl with the artificial sweeteners. So I had to ask for sugar. They don't even have half and half for your coffee, so I asked for some whole milk. I don't use artificial creamer. By the time the milk arrived my coffee was luke-warm. I asked the server to please heat it up for me, but instead she brought me a new cup, so I had to start over with the sugar and asked for more milk. Way too much trouble for a crummy cup of coffee. I was pretty disappointed and won't be going back. Not worth the $16.50 plus the coffee. read more

Hash is amazing! I have been three times now and the food is very, very good. My first visit I had eggs Benedict and they were awesome! The hollandaise sauce was creamy and the eggs were poached to perfection. The second time I had the basic breakfast with eggs, bacon and hash browns. It was very tasty. The hash browns were crispy and the bacon is amazing! The third time I went with several family members and we all had something different. I had bacon gravy and biscuits. I was so happy to see something other than sausage gravy on a menu. The gravy was consistent and very tasty. Their biscuits are huge and fluffy greatness. On every visit the wait staff have been helpful and went out of their way to answer every question and meet any requests. My family visit consisted of 3 toddlers and the wait staff was so nice and understanding. I will definitely be returning to Hash! read more

I've loved Hash since we first went in Olympia years ago. We really are happy to have a Hash along I5 we can stop at on our way to Portland. but our last stop wasn't as good as previous trips. The service seemed less personal, and it was actually cool in the restaurant. In fact our server was wearing a down vest. But the interaction wasn't there either and the food seems to slipped a little. I had the hash. The food tasted ok and there was an attempt to plate the food with the hash browns on either side of the corn beef and an egg placed nicely on top. My issue is the hash browns.... they weren't brown, they were white and while quite warm, not exactly steaming hot. The onions were translucent but not caramelized, and the corn beef was slices. I would almost say this was rushed out and the cook did not pay attention to the quality. I get the employment side of things is getting difficult but the manager needs to look in on this soon. I will say my wife's food was good according to her. And when I cooked my leftovers this morning, the potatoes browned up very nicely and it was all tasty. read more

Nasty is the best word to describe this place. Bad decor three paint closeup of a milk splash,an egg, and a coffee cup. Everything was woodish but look like it was poorly painted. No color why not use the orange silver and white in your logo to brighten it up. Now we have drab decor and wait staff that was anything but warm and friendly. The seemed like they did not want to be there. Now the food. They gave you cornbread which was just a cupcake. No real flavor. It was so small to split between two people. The main food chicken fried steak. Gross. The meat (if it was that) did not taste like steak. My kids dad said it reminded him of the fake meat served it the military. It has an kinda Smokey but weird flavor. They don't use spices. The eggs were ok but it hard to screw up eggs. The English muffin had a little butter on it and was burnt. The gravy had no flavor. The potatoes were charred and bland bland bland. The cinnamon roll was listed at 10 they charged 10.40 for it. 40 cents more than it was in the menu. Though we took one home to the kids. It was awful. It tasted like plastic my kids would not eat it. It had a small amount of sugar in the cinnamon making it very bitter and was served stale. Gross! Overall avoid this place at all costs. McDonalds has a better breakfast. A homeless mission has a better breakfast as this breakfast was not fit for human consumption. read more

We went to try out the breakfast. I got the pulled pork benedict on pretzel bun with cheese hollandaise with hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were extremely over cooked, no flavor and looked old. The Benedict just tasted like pulled pork with over salt and the pretzel bun was hard in some places and soft in others. My boyfriend got the Portuguese sausage scramble, his was ok, he liked the sausage but that was it. We both ended up getting sick afterwards. Cute place but we don't plan on going back. read more

I didn't think to take pictures of my food this morning I was hungry and it looked so good I couldn't wait to dig in! I ordered the Portuguese sausage scramble and added a side of corn tortillas instead of toast option. It was delicious. I have never been to this place or any of their other locations before so I didn't know what to expect. I just heard it was well known and good. They brought a cute little corn bread loaf with strawberry butter to our table to enjoy while we were waiting for our order. It wasn't too quiet or too loud. Jennifer was our server and she was great, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. I'm pretty sure we found a new favorite place to eat out! Today I went to lunch at Hash, I had heard good things so I was looking forward to trying this restaurant. I ordered the 1/2 order of biscuit and bacon gravy. It was served barely warm. My scrambled eggs were perfect and fairy warm. My friend order the Monte Cristo with hadhbrowns. The hashbrowns were cold and not completely cooked. The Monte Crisco was delicious. I had a sample. My first time dining at Hash Centralia left me wanting to go back and take my family. The meal my friend and I had was spectacular. I had the short ribs. Fork tender meat, minimal fat, real delicious mashed potatoes and a nice side vegetable. The BBQ sauce I had on the side, was not overly sweet and had a nice heat to it. My friend had the grilled Halibut. Nice piece of moist halibut, with a light sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetables. We were both pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food and professional preparation. Truly the best meal I have had in a restaurant, in a very long time. I live in Olympia, and will be traveling to Centralia just for their ribs! We will be checking out the Hash in Olympia, however they just serve breakfast at this time. I have lived in centralia for 53 years and I have had breakfast at every restaurant in centralia and chehalis. With that said, there is only one place that has the best breakfast and the best chicken fried steak in centralia, Judy's kitchen. I am sorry I really wanted to like this place but the hash browns were greasy, and soggy and tasted terrible. The eggs were not much better. The chicken fried steak was ok but nowhere near the best and the gravy was lame and tasteless. I would not recommend this place and I will not be back!! read more

I gave the two stars because the food was great. The presentation was professional and attractive. Yes we came in just before closing. We were seated but told by several people that they were closing. I had to ask several times for lemon. The manager I was cutting evil eyes at us, this is no way to treat customers. They should never feel that they shouldn't come in or unwelcomed. I found that very rude! Not sure I will go back. I was part of the food service for over 30 years customer service is a must in this business. Don't forget to bring cash not only is it a bit pricey. First off, let me start by saying I love the Hash in Olympia and was very excited to see this location closer to my home open up. We went on a Saturday at 11am, so pretty peak time. We were a table of 5 and waited about 40 minutes. Which is fine except to say that two tables of 3 who came in after us were seated before us and when we did get seated, we got the exact same booth with just a chair at the end of the table to accommodate our 5, not exactly fair but not a huge deal. We were greeted pretty quickly by Jesse, who brought water and coffee right away. We waited at least 30 minutes for food, but again, they were slammed and we understood we would wait. When food did arrive, it was sub par at best. My mother and myself ordered the original eggs benedict. English muffin wasn't toasted and soggy, ham was a huge hunk and the hollandaise sauce was cold and curdled on both. We had both asked for extra crispy hash browns, they weren't and we're also cold. There was a scramble that my son enjoyed and another brisket scramble that was suppose to have beechers cheese pieces and covered in bbq hollandaise sauce. 1 piece of cheese and a drizzle of hollandaise. When I asked for more sauce for my Benedict, my brother asked for extra for his brisket scramble as well. Jesse brought another side of regular, cold, curdled sauce to us both. My brother asked is this the bbq hollandaise, to which she replied, you said hollandaise, so that's what I brought you. He went on to explain to her that he wanted more of the sauce that came with the dish ordered. No apology, nothing, just said so now you're ordering bbq hollandaise?? This place is fantastic! Parking lot is a little tight, so use caution. It looked like there might be a wait as there were a lot of cars. To our surprise, we were seated as soon as we entered. Our server, Megan was prompt, friendly and attentive. She helped us with any questions we had about the flavorful food on the menu. I do like a Bloody Mary now and then, and they have several different ones to choose from. I had a classic. I'd have another. I had the meat lovers omelette. Very tasty, and the presentation was great. There could have been a touch more hash browns on the plate, but that's me. My wife had chicken fried steak. She got he full order so we could have leftovers. We did, as she only ate 1/2 anyway. We had to sample a pancake too. It was fluffy and tasty. The one drawback is that it's loud. We had a hard time hearing each other. The bar seemed quite and cozy. I guess if we wanted to, we could've sat in there. The owner, Dean came and checked on us and welcomed us in. The restaurant has changed hands five times in the past 10 years . I like how they redid the interior spacious lots of good tables and Bootis. Staff is very friendly . Breakfast Fair served all day . I went with the brisket hash and eggs over easy my wife did the croissant Monte Cristo sandwich . The potatoes that came with her meal were hot and tasty I would suggest the hash with brisket thinly sliced the only downside was their $10 cinnamon roll that we took to go it was charred burnt to a crisp . Vibe and menu are great, probably what this franchise survives on. The service was absolutely terrible. Once seated, which only took 15 minutes, we didn't see a server for thirty minutes. Two of our four plates were incorrect, potatoes were cold, and they came 75 minutes after we were seated. The owners seemed clueless, as I needed a single refill of iced tea and did not get one in the two hours it took to get in and out, when they were not busy. I had my drink sitting on the edge of the table and the owner seemed more interested in socializing than providing any type of service, as they walked by our table several times. Hash browns were raw at a place called Hash. By the time we got our food, it was time for lunch. Even getting our check took 30 minutes. The biscuits and gravy are probably the best I've ever had, but I wouldn't go back. The competition in town is much better. Even with a wait, Judy's service is light years better. Ownership should take the staff over to Judy's to see how excellent service in a high paced breakfast/lunch environment looks like. read more
