    Applewood Gouda omelette

Gluten-Free Review: "Hash" -- Because Life's Too Short for Crumb Guilt So, we decided to hit up this place called Hash. Yeah, I know, bold move for a gluten-free gal. A place literally named after carbs? Could've gone either way. But to my gluten-intolerant surprise, they actually had gluten-free options! Cue the heavenly choir and a slow-motion walk into what looked like the cutest little time-traveling diner, 1950s charm, but with 2020s food sensitivities. We love a place that serves both pancakes and trauma-informed toast. Now, I ordered the Applewood smoked Gouda omelette because apparently, I'm a fancy cheese woman now. It came with a side of gluten-free toast... allegedly. I never saw that toast. I don't want to assume it ghosted me, maybe it got caught up in a wild brunch romance in the kitchen and never made it out. I respect that. I know it was busy. BUT... plot twist.. I stole a bite of my family's Beecher's brisket hash (don't worry, they knew) and HOLY CANNOLI. Except, no cannoli. Gluten. This hash? It was smoky, cheesy, hearty... I had one bite and wanted the rest. The hollandaise sauce? Gluten-free and probably the best trust fall I've ever done with a condiment. I didn't even flinch. They know gluten is the enemy for some of us, and they act accordingly, and even if my toast ran off to Vegas, I'd still go back for that brisket hash! You should too

Quick, friendly service. I'm glad I asked about the full vs 1/2 CFS. One (1/2) was plenty. The gravy was the star of the show, though. Great food at a great value. Classic diner experience.

Coming to Pe Elle to sis property. We usually stop and have breaky or lunch before we get there. Have the dogs in tow today so I wanted to sit close to the windo. We parked in the shade by the bldg too so they could look out the windows. Hehe. I decided to try the huge-o 16inch blueberry and pistachio pancake. Oh my they weren't kidding. Soo good tho. Great for a family feast of travelers!! Adults and kids alike!! Hubby always with the loco moco! He loves it ( used to live in HI). Service was fine and this sat they were busy. Looked like the usual club meeting of some sort were heading in and perching at the combo table hehe. I had eaten 3 pieces of mine and he had to try one. It's definitely a hit! Had 4 pcs togo for our picnic to share later!

Yummy! I drive by this place daily and been wanting to try it. I had the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. Made the mistake of ordering the Full size. Couldn't finish it, believe me I tried. Place is comfortable and has that retro vibe to it. I really want to try the meat omelette next time.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! The interior is sparkling clean! Big wooden tables, comfortable seating - darling atmosphere. The food servings are generous and tasty! Mr. Wonderful had the classic Benedict and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Portuguese sausage (linguisa) scramble, it was filling and fantastic! Half of it is coming home with me. Our server was Jennifer and she was delightful. Thanks for the recommendation, you were spot on!

This is a great breakfast spot in Centralia. It's located right off the freeway, but the freeway exits have changed in the past couple of years with the expansion of a WinCo next door so it took me a while to actually find it even though it's an easy place to spot from the freeway. I originally learned about this place a few years ago from Facebook when they were nominated to be on the Internet show America's Best Restaurants. I had been wanting to try it, but never had been through at a time that worked. This October ended up being a good time. We hurried inside due to the rain and wind outside. We spoke to a couple that said it was one of their favorite restaurants for breakfast so we were excited upon arrival. They have a fantastic complimentary cornbread, but I only saw certain tables get it so it may be a - you ask you get type of situation. We requested it, and it was really good. The entrees are massive - we were so full from sharing our salmon omlette plate. We were going to eat later that day but ended up just ordering tea later. One meal was huge enough to keep us full for most of the day. Everything tasted delicious. The atmosphere was old school retro diner look. The only complaint I had was that I recall asking the server about the hot chocolate and the mimosa flight. She didn't know the answers to my questions, but told me she would come back later and address them. She never did. We ended up just enjoying our water, which was fine, but I might have ordered a drink flight or a toasty beverage if she would have been a bit more knowledgeable. The restaurant had consistent customers and the staff seemed to be a bit pulled because of that. Some of the tables were dirty because of that. Otherwise, we really liked this spot.

We drive past this place every time we make the journey up to Seattle and have always wanted to make a stop simply based on the old-school diner aesthetics. We finally made the time and it was certainly worth it. We got in early so it was mostly empty and the waitress was super friendly. The food is good here, especially if you're into classic diner food. Despite their name neither my wife nor myself tried their hashes, although if we stop by again I'll definitely give it a shot. That being said I had their Full portion Country Fried Steak which was massive. At first I was concerned by the half portion so I got the full, which was more than enough food. The standout is definitely the steak which is fried perfectly and lathered with gravy. You know it's impressive when you can smother something in gravy and it still retains it's crunch.

Wow! Awesome place food was great. Service was excellent. Went for breakfast no complaints would definitely recommend. The corn bread is great. Just an all around good place.

Open sign lit. Hours posted online to close at three. This photo was at 1:30.

My mom came in from Florida and I wanted to have her try the delicious sindwinder appetizer as well as the orange chicken and waffle. My small daughter was with us too. Before we left, I verified the hours at 7am-3pm. We showed up at 1:30pm for lunch and the "open" sign was lit. We walk in only to be immediately kicked back out because "we just changed our hours and we close at 1:30 now." I literally hadn't even got everyone through the door before we were kicked out. I mean if you don't want to ever make money, take this business model. I'm now looking forward to the next business going to be in that location

This Centralia location is a little different than the one in Olympia. Menu is different too. Food is different too. Been there three times. Service was good twice. Food was average for breakfast place and not a ton of vegetarian options.

Finally got to stop here after driving by on many trips. They have the vibe nailed on the inside, great space and decor for sure. The menu has the classics and some new stuff as well. I got the sense that they were understaffed as everything felt a little rushed. But overall the food was good and the vibe checks out. They also had plenty of parking which was a plus. I recommend their fries too. Delicious. Don't forget to check the bar out too!

    ### So Bad It Was Almost Comical…read more My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our drive from Oregon to Seattle. The parking lot was completely full, so after circling around and eventually finding street parking, we figured the place must be popular. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point of the experience. The main restaurant was fairly full, so we were seated in a large, dark bar area in the back. And then... nothing happened. For more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a waiter appeared and took our order. Then another 30+ minutes passed before the food arrived. Somehow, even our iced tea didn't make it to the table until the food did. All told, we spent roughly an hour sitting at an empty table without so much as a beverage, and about 90 minutes from the time we arrived until we actually had food in front of us. At that point, the whole experience was becoming almost comical. We ordered a cod burger with fries, a Caesar salad, onion rings and an iced tea. The cod burger was okay. Nothing memorable, but edible. The Caesar salad was actually good. The fries, however, arrived cold, soggy and thoroughly greasy -- quite an accomplishment considering how long we waited for them. The onion rings apparently embarked on a separate journey altogether, because they never arrived. By then, we'd lost the will to ask about them and just gave up. The grand total for one cod burger with cold fries, a small Caesar salad and an iced tea? $40.00! We mentioned the long wait, forgotten food and other problems to our waiter. He was sympathetic and explained that they were short staffed, which we understand can make things difficult. But being short staffed doesn't make a 90-minute lunch, no drinks for an hour, cold soggy fries and forgotten food any less disappointing -- especially at those prices. By the end, we weren't even angry. The whole thing had crossed over into comedy. Needless to say, on future drives between Oregon and Seattle, we'll be finding a different midway lunch stop.

It was definitely the best chowder I've ever had, complete with flaked smoked salmon on top of a creamy and hearty salmon w/ potato soup. We were so full after our meal I would not normally order dessert. After reading the 30 something all 5 star reviews and their menu, I yanked my husband's arm, got in the car and beep beeped us straight there. What a gem of a place! We got to seat ourselves, plenty of open clean tables to choose from. We were greeted immediately with a friendly smile. I ordered a small mac and cheese with pulled pork and he got a smokehouse baker. We both got a side house salad. The food arrived quickly and it looked delicious! Then we dug in and it tasted better than it looked. Even though I got the small I still couldn't eat it all, it was a good sized portion. I'm kicking myself for not buying something but I am not worried because we are already talking about going back! My previous review of The Quincy landed somewhere in the middle, which made Shelby's response stand out even more. She didn't just leave a quick public reply and move on. Shelby followed up with me directly via email, offered a sincere apology, and invited us back with a credit toward a future meal. A small business owner who genuinely listens to feedback and responds with that level of care and respect is something special. That alone made me want to give The Quincy another try. I'm very glad we did. We returned tonight and the experience was fantastic - honestly better than fantastic. The service was attentive from the moment we walked in. The dining room had that perfect Friday night energy: lively but comfortable. People were enjoying conversations and good food without the room ever feeling loud or chaotic. With our 5:00 pm reservation, everything felt smooth, relaxed, and welcoming. One thing that has always intrigued me about The Quincy is their rotating specials. They consistently offer creative options alongside a strong core menu. I tried one of the margarita specials and it was an absolute hit. If you're looking for a dependable menu favorite, I still highly recommend the white fish. This time I ordered the Mediterranean stuffed chicken and it was truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The vegetables were roasted perfectly, and the chicken was packed with flavor while still feeling balanced and fresh. My husband is a notoriously picky eater (tomatoes and spinach are usually a hard no), and even he was eyeing my plate and asking for a bite. My biggest takeaway now is this: yes, this is a well-run restaurant - but that's actually the least interesting part about it (and I mean that as the highest compliment). This time, the food felt thoughtfully prepared, the atmosphere is warm, and the owner clearly cares about feedback and community. That combination is rare.
