A place literally named after carbs? Could've gone either way. But to my gluten-intolerant surprise, they actually had gluten-free options! This is a great breakfast spot in Centralia. It's located right off the freeway, but the freeway exits have changed in the past couple of years with the expansion of a WinCo next door so it took me a while to actually find it even though it's an easy place to spot from the freeway. I originally learned about this place a few years ago from Facebook when they were nominated to be on the Internet show America's Best Restaurants. I had been wanting to try it, but never had been through at a time that worked. This October ended up being a good time. We hurried inside due to the rain and wind outside. We spoke to a couple that said it was one of their favorite restaurants for breakfast so we were excited upon arrival. They have a fantastic complimentary cornbread, but I only saw certain tables get it so it may be a - you ask you get type of situation. We requested it, and it was really good. The entrees are massive - we were so full from sharing our salmon omlette plate. We were going to eat later that day but ended up just ordering tea later. One meal was huge enough to keep us full for most of the day. Everything tasted delicious. The atmosphere was old school retro diner look. The only complaint I had was that I recall asking the server about the hot chocolate and the mimosa flight. She didn't know the answers to my questions, but told me she would come back later and address them. She never did. We ended up just enjoying our water, which was fine, but I might have ordered a drink flight or a toasty beverage if she would have been a bit more knowledgeable. not much of a eat out for breakfast kinda guy since I feel I can cook a pretty good healthy breakfast at home. But I have really enjoyed their breakfast burrito a couple times. It is delicious and unique with a great sauce over top. After waiting three years (long, COVID years) to see what would open at this key location in Centralia, we were not disappointed to see Hash open a second location here in the Twin Cities of Centralia-Chehalis, near I-5. We love going out for breakfast, and my wife's omelette was divine: like eating a cloud, with chunks of ham and Gouda cheese. My Portuguese sausage scramble was excellent. It could have been stellar if the sausage had been grilled before being folded in. The menu is very eclectic, with many nice hash and Benni options. Arrived at 8am during opening week. A couple of parties ahead of us, but nothing crazy. Host was a stern, no games all business type of lady. I think a smile and a standard greeting would be nice. Waited 30 mins. Surprisingly long wait for the few parties in front of me. Sat down and no exaggeration, but waited another 30 mins. Our waitress gave us a smile and sincere apology for the wait. She brought out complimentary cornbread that was slightly larger then a matchbox car...for the whole table of five. Then she took our order. When we received our food it was 90 minutes since we entered. They are new, appears many of the staff didn't have restaurant experience, and everyone seemed overwhelmed. The Food: This was really hit or miss depending on what you ordered. Breakfast burrito ($16) was massive...and definitely tasted good. I was impressed. Any of the breakfast dishes with brisket also seemed decent. The grilled Avocado Benedict presented well, although the avocados looked pretty bad. The taste was a favorite...however be warned the portion size is almost a joke ($17). The Beechers breakfast hash ($20)was a nice portion, and tasted really good. I was the most disappointed though with the brioche French toast....it was the thinnest brioche bread I've ever seen. This was a very basic French toast for $15 that you could've got at any breakfast diner. Final thoughts: I will definitely return, I think once they get the kinks out and the staff get used to working here the service will pick up. There's lots of really interesting stuff on the menu, but I'm going to have to trust others reviews. I'll come back in a couple months for round 2. I'm rooting for this place. read more

This was not our first time here, but feel it is worthy of another outstanding review. My sister and I brought our very elderly mother here for brunch recently. We ordered two entrees; the beef brisket hash and the orange chicken and waffles. We shared them between the three of us and would highly recommend both, so delicious.
