I wish I could say better things about my first visit here. I have heard such good reviews, but alas, my experience was not so great. I did expect a long wait time as there was a line and the parking lot was full, but surprise, we were in rather quick. The wait to order was something else. We waited an hour to order. People who had come in after us were already getting their food. Turns out, our server forgot about us. Finally ordering. I got the Beechers Brisket Hash. Should be Hash with 'Where's the Brisket'. I couldn't find any meat at first. I thought they forgot it. No, there it is. A few little scrimps of meat. The first bite was nothing but a fat ball. I'm not off to a good start. I love onions, raw or cooked, but for this dish, in my opinion, they were under cooked. The flavour overall was just ok and nothing special. My wife wasn't impressed with meal either, Beer Cheese Benedict, but would like to come back and try something else. I have my reservations on that, but sometime people just have a bad day. Maybe I'll try again. The atmosphere was good and the place wasn't too loud allowing for conversations at the table. What sets this place apart for me is the bacon gravy. It was a pleasant diversion from the norms. Normally I wouldn't comment on the toast of choice, but the English muffin I had was the best I had since my stay here in Centralia for the week. The coffee was terrible, but doesn't warrant a lower rating. My coworker ordered the Avocado toast, which comes with a beet pickled egg(that was a giant leap of faith for us so had subbed it for scrambled) add a bowl of fruit. It looked delicious and my suspicions were confirmed. Before our meals arrived the waitress brought out a small cornbread with, I believe she said Marionberry flavored whipped butter. I enjoyed it. The menu has a lot of the breakfast diner go to's but it seems this place puts a unique twist on them. Check out their menu online. We've been waiting a few weeks to eat here, to see if all the talk was just talk, or because it's the new place in town. This location seemed cursed, with three or four previous iterations of dining that all failed. I'm happy to say, it IS worth the wait, and all the talk is on point. We went in at noon on Saturday, ended up at the counter because everywhere else was full. So I got instant entertainment, watching the action in the kitchen. Tons of staff, all up to their eyes in orders, masses of food coming out, and empty plates coming back. Happy diners, wait staff busy and happy noise everywhere. Megan was our server and had a mess of things going but still nailed our order and checked back to see if all was well. I had a HashBurger. Trust me, just go have one. Perfect everything on a squishy roll. Hubby had a Meat Lovers omlette that vanished off the plate in a hurry. There really should be a treadmill at the front door, so folks could do a quick couple of laps before sitting down. The owners were not fooling around when they built their menu. We will be back. The Good: EXCELLENT Blueberry Pistachio pancake. It's HUGE! The size of a medium pizza! The Benedicto Ranchero was delicious! Bacon was thick & cooked perfectly. The Bad: We had the unfortunate experience of getting poor service which from reading the reviews seems to be a rare occurrence. She was not friendly and acted as though we were an inconvenience to her day. Ordered an over medium egg and got an egg so under cooked the whites were runny. The So-So: Toast taste like store bought, not terrible but nothing special. Hashbrowns were just OK. A rainy Friday at 11:30am and the full parking lot looked discouraging, but we found a spot to park rather quickly. We were seated as soon as we walked in despite it being pretty full inside. The interior is very nice and light, with a brand new feel to it all. We were seated on the bar side, and the only downside was how loud it was at times since all the tables were full. Our waitress Megan was quick, and was very pleasant, patient, and helpful when we asked A LOT of questions, lol,l. She even made sure my coffee cup stayed full (we do live in the PNW after all!) and Hubbie got his Bloody Mary fast! The food was a little pricey, but we understood why after we took our first bite of the meat lovers omelet with a side of gravy, and chicken fried steak with a side of pancake. First off, we noticed how the food was of a higher quality...for example, the egg yolks were bright yellow and looked very fresh, and the food tasted fresh and like a home cooked meal (without all the extra salt others throw in to cover up lower quality food!). The side orders, gravy, and a pancake (the whipped sweet butter on top of the pancake was beyond amazing) were worth it! The rest of our meal also was very good! At first it didn't look like the portions were very big, but I think it's an optical illusion because we were so full that we had to take half our meal home! We got to talk to one of the owners, Dean, and he was not only welcoming, friendly, and chatty (great qualities in a restaurant owner/manager) but he asked us about our experience and then actually patiently listened! And he recommended his favorites on the menu to try next time. Believe me folks, the next visit can't come soon enough! I highly recommend you take your family and support this small business and eat at Hash! Tell them Lady Bulldog and Bulldog sent you! The newest brunch spot in town, I knew I had to go. Cute little location, friendly service, and good food. Candace our server was sweet & fast, she took great care of us. We all enjoyed our food and my son couldn't get enough of his meal. My husband had the meat lovers omelette, he liked it but had hoped for more filling on the inside. I had the brioche French toast which was delicious, my only complaint was my added hash browns were a bit soft inside. My son had the Mickey Mouse pancakes, zero complaints he loved every bite. The cappuccino was delicious as well! For just opening up and still working out kinks, I applaud them for this amazing new location. Food was good but I would be leary of cleanliness in kitchen if the dining room is dirty. The corners has many cobwebs, the lights hanging down over tables have so much dust coated on the lines probably falling in my food. In fact there was a spiderweb coming from the white bulb light to the ceiling over our table. I don't even want to talk about the fan spinning around the possible dust bunny's all over! Run of the mill don't expect much kinda breakfast joint here. They have a bar, didn't look very clean, kind of like the restaurant itself. Theres not trash or anything just a layer of grime and you can see the smears where they clean with dirty rags. The food is fine, good options, decent proportions, prices are just above good, reasonable? Maybe I had higher expectations after all the recommendations we got. Oh man...we had heard that Olympians had been sleepin' on Hash Centralia, and since we were going on an antiquing excursion, we figured we should stop by and get some grubbage. It's ironic, as the sign outside the restaurant reads "Good food, good mood". The moment we stepped inside the restaurant, we were greeted by a waitress who said we could sit in the nearest buffet (for ants, the seating is extremely cramped if you are the size of an actual adult) if we wanted. We tried, but quickly moved over to the table which was crowded with sauces/sugar packets/drink signs. One waitress who avoided eye contact as she paced by, was loudly declaring that she had been at work since 6 in the morning (it was 2 PM at this time), and was slamming dishes onto the nearby bar while she was cursing under her breath. I've worked in food service, I get that it can be stressful--but you work at a breakfast joint, love. Being up early kinda comes with the territory. It immediately set the mood for what was to come. In spite of a slow afternoon, the surly waitress tossed some cold, sugary cornbread on the table without a word. She didn't ask us if we'd like any beverages to choke down the Jiffy quality bread. The second waitress who appeared wise to the other one's mood but who also genuinely over it, came up to take our drink order. Despite all of us requesting water, only my husband received his. When ordering food, my husband articulated that he was interested in the corned beef sandwich, but wanted to ensure that it was the sandwich described on the menu; 'piled high' with the salty protein his heart desired. The waitress stated she herself didn't care for corned beef, but that the sandwich was pretty good and that she'd recommend it. She asked him what sauce he wanted to accompany his fries, and he requested blue cheese. During the interaction, it was evident that there was something going on behind the kitchen walls--we could hear some kind of situation escalating between staff. Not particularly appetizing, not the best look if you're going for professionalism--but we had already ordered our food. If you were a kid who grew up in a house where your parents would angrily wash dishes, you might know what I'm talking about. It was uncomfortable. However, the restaurant was pretty cute, and spotlessly clean from what our eyes could see. My kiddo didn't seem to pick up on the unpleasant vibes, so we tried to make the best of it. I finished my iced tea really quick. Like I said, the complimentary cornbread was nice--but it was dryer than an Eastern Washington summer. The berry butter was...nice but also not the best I've had. Surly first waitress came over and distributed our plates on the table. She did not refill our beverages, did not bring sauce as ordered, and didn't say anything aside "Side of pancakes? Avocado benedict?" before rushing away. And apparently out the door, since the second waitress was heard loudly declaring "I GUESSS I'M THE ONLY ONE HERE NOW" about 5 minutes later. Guests in earshot looked around to each other and shrugged. The lone remaining waitress came pacing through the dining room with her hands up, repeating the aforementioned statement. You could cut the tension with the butterknives at the table. Other patrons conversed to each other about the general awkwardness of the environment we were paying to behold. My benedict, to its' credit, was excellent. Annoying that I had to order a biscuit on the side to accompany my egg goo delight since the vegetarian option doesn't come with bread, but the cooks have the bennies on point otherwise. The avocado and tomato were fresh and flavorful. The jalapeño hollandaise was more mild than I had hoped, but creamy dreamy delish. The poached eggs were just right. The biscuit was fluffy and fat. The hash browns were a-ok, though I like 'em crispier than what I received. I devoured that plate and she hit. My kiddo enjoyed their pancakes. I had a bite, and those were also pretty great. Fluffy, buttermilk-y, and good enough to eat on their own since the syrup was nothing to ride home about. Husband's sandwich, however, was little more than a heap of coleslaw between two slices of rye bread. How that equaled out to over $20 for coleslawcore with a handful of fries is beyond me. He never did get his dippin' sauce either. Sad. I guess it's worth the cost if you appreciate Lewis County style dinner theater. I found the drama incredibly unappetizing, personally. I'll keep it to the West Oly location and encourage y'all to do the same. read more

The service was wonderful(the only reason for the 2 stars), the food on the other hand was terrible! I hate to even review like this but it was $75 for 3 of us with a tip and our "breakfast potatoes" were like they were cooked the day before and heated in the microwave and overcooked no less. My husbands chicken fried steak was the same but also over cooked and crunchy and terrible. It was ok. My husband had the chili and he said it was really good. I had the corn beef hash and eggs. The corned beef tasted like it was a processed lunch meat and way too salty. I ended up just pushing it aside. The rest of the meal was good. The lady who waited on us was super nice. She was the bartender. The lady who seated us was very unfriendly. She was the waitress for the other people in the restaurant but for some reason she was not ours. All in all it was a ok experience. Menu has so many interesting options, not just your typical chicken fried steak and eggs- but if you wanted your typical breakfast fare they have that dialed and offer so much more. I had the orange chicken and waffles. It was delicious and they happily subbed my eggs for hash browns for no extra cost. Friend got the avocado benedict- the chef didn't like how small the avocados were so he wrote her a coupon for a free avocado benedict for next time! Service was good too. Came here for breakfast with my daughter. Very cute retro decor. The service was prompt and friendly. The coffee was pretty bad. The cornbread and fruit butter was delicious. Our food arrived lukewarm even though there were few customers in the restaurant. I had the biscuits and bacon gravy with scrambled eggs. The biscuits were superb and the serving was huge, but the gravy was starting to congeal by the time I got them. They definitely could have used more flavor. I could only eat one of the biscuits. My daughter got the brioche french toast which was OK, but had a strange, meaty under taste, as if it was cooked on the grill right after some sort of meat. Her side of hash browns was okay, but nothing special. Also a huge serving. Don't waste your money ($10) on the giant cinnamon roll. We got one to go. When my daughter tried to cut it in half, she really struggled to cut through the dense burnt blob of dough. Very little cinnamon and no sugar except for the cream cheese icing, which was the only good thing about it. After tasting it, I threw it away. I have been to the Olympia Hash several times and had very good meals. This Hash is not anywhere near as good. Being hip and trendy will get people in the door once, but food like this, especially at the prices charged, will not bring them back for a second visit. read more

Great experience. Rolled into the parking lot and it was packed on a Friday at 10 am. We were still seated timely and went straight back to the bar. Server was incredibly friendly and took great care of us. We got the mimosa flight to start out. Flavors were on point but they were served relatively warm. We ordered the breakfast burrito and avocado eggs benedict. I'd say for the price, the portions are there. I ordered the burrito without kale and ended up taking over half of it home. Super delicious. That hollandaise sauce and the refried beans inside made it something worthwhile. The eggs bennie were good as well. We asked for hash browns but got breakfast potatoes. Our server noticed right away, but we made no big deal about it. Never waste potatoes! I love Hash in Olympia but it is always packed (to the point where there's a line out the door).
