This is the best place in town to get some delicious hot clam chowder!!! The flavor is on point! Unlike some other places where the chowder is either too thin and runny, overly seasoned with herbs, or too many other unnecessary ingredients that completely take away from the traditional clam taste. The service is always fast and servers are always very friendly and make you feel like a regular, even if you're not. It's got a cute old school cafe charm with some popular hits music lightly playing throughout the establishment. They offer many other delicious items as well, such as breakfast, sandwiches, and even pies and desserts! Stopped in for breakfast, hard to tell if they are open as the open sign is behind tinted windows. But glad I stopped. I had the country breakfast, the biscuit and gravy was flavorful, and it comes with potatoes and 2 eggs. I was stuffed by the time I left. went in for lunch with my mom, she ordered a BLT but asked for sliced avacado on it which they accomodated no problem, I ordered a cup of clam chowder and the spaghetti and meatballs. Soup came out first and was very tasty, well balanced chunkiness, could have used a bit more seasoning but was still delicious. Mothers sandwich came out well done, the bacon was nicely cooked, fresh veggies, and the onion rings were cooked perfectly, unfortunately the sliced avocado wasn't ripe and came out hard and tart and gross. Now, my spaghetti... this was by far, the worst spaghetti I have ever had in my entire life. as soon as I scraped back the pasta sauce on top and saw the noodles I knew something was off, it was fat and inconsistently thick throughout like it was swollen in lumpy areas of the noodle, I already knew but took a bite anyways, tasted like they bag it in water and throw it in the fridge or something, was so soggy it just turned to mush in my mouth, like a gross wet sponge. I took my fork and lifted up the pile of pasta and underneath it was just a lake of water underneath my dish on the bottom of the bowl. I HATE sending food back, and this is the first time I have done it in years, but this was absolutely inedible. I called the server over to have something different and while she was polite and accommodated my order change with no hassle at all, she seemed very dismissive and didn't seem to want to hear about what was wrong with the dish at all. This is a very bad sign of a poorly run restaurant, customer feedback especially about food quality is an absolute key to success in a diner. luckily the ham n chz melt and fries I got to replace were good. While it was a little bland, it was nicely cooked ham, perfectly toasted bread and cheese, and the battered fries were cooked just right. I may give it another chance in the future but definitely will never be among my list of immediate choices nor would I recommend it to any of my friends. read more

Needed some lunch after the garlic festival. Arrived around 1:15 and got a seat. Drinks were quickly served. I was trying to decide what to have, and the waitress dropped a hint that the cod was on special. I ordered that and the family ordered other things. In no time at all the lunch was delivered. The fish was cooked to perfection. Could only eat about half. The onion rings were out of this world. Perfect batter. Could only eat half of those too. Cole Slaw was yummy and I ate all of it! I've been hearing soo many good things about this place! Also once I came in to pick up a DoorDash order and it's been on my list of places to try ever since then. Finally had the chance to bring the wife to try it and we weren't disappointed at all! The aesthetic of the dining area is nostalgic to the 50s-60s era (a plus as my wife and I love cafes like that). The menu is huge!!!! So many different things to choose from (expected from a greasy spoon style restaurant), a decent wine/beer menu as well. The wife and I decided to let our hair down with a cranberry mimosa (which was bomb af) She ordered the Chick (a custom sub (po boy) style sandwich, and I got the Main Street burger which I was able to fully customized (was even able to get a fried egg on the burger as well!!!!) service was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Very typical for a diner, lots of options. We shared the taco salad, which was huge, but very lackluster in flavor. The salad is one of those ice berg salad bags, which the cabbage and carrots. Our first time at Main Street Grill, will NOT be our last. We went tonight, a Friday night, to get the Prime Rib dinner for my husband. We entered the bustling restaurant. Happy voices, smiling staff. Service was friendly and prompt. Husband ordered the prime rib, I settled on Fried Prawn basket with tater tots. On the menu, it states seafood is hand battered. Our orders came quickly. The prime rib was DELICIOUS. Served with yummy mashed potatoes , some nice sauteed vegetables and grilled garlic brsad. Also soup or salad. Husb had the salad, crunchy fresh and loaded. My fried prawn basket... superb. Wonderful. Delicious. The prawns and tots were JUST out of the oil. Screaming HOT. Now, I like food served at the temperature it calls for , in other words, I like hot foods HOT, cold foods cold, etc. The prawns were simply DIVINE. Hand dipped in a tasty, delicate batter. Perfectly fried, crispy batter, prawns had robust flavor, perfect texture, only needed the smallest drops of lemon juice and were PERFECT. The prawns of my dreams, I have never had better. Came here on a Monday around 2pm. Seems to be the only place selling breakfast last 2pm in this town. Friendly fast service. Ordered the meatloaf skillet with homemade biscuit. Delicious! The definition of comfort food. I asked for something spicy and the server (Laura?) was helpful in providing some of their homemade salsa from the kitchen (I don't think it's always available). My guy really likes this place for breakfast, but I'm not huge breakfast girl so I agreed to try it for dinner with him on a Saturday evening. It was busy with an older crowd (and I'm old) but service was very fast and friendly both the gal who sat us and our server were great. The food however...I ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and a side salad. He ordered the meatloaf. When our salads arrived, I noticed the lettuce wasn't the freshest. I picked out the brown and set on the side because I was pretty hungry. I know how hard lettuce is to keep fresh and this is a bit a dive diner so whatever. When our entrées arrived, it was very underwhelming to me. My steak had zero flavor and it was very hard to chew. I actually had to spit a couple pieces out in my napkin. The potatoes and the vegetables looked like they were cooked in the morning and kept on low heat all day. I opted out of getting the gravy on my potatoes but some butter would have been nice. The garlic bread was the best part. My guy said his meatloaf was great. He didn't have any issues with his meal and was very happy. Our bill came to 60 something dollars with tip. I'm really glad that he likes this place but he can continue to go here on his own or with his friends, I'll pass. read more

Cruised down to this side with some friends to have breakfast/lunch together and this place hit the spot! Everyone's meals gave so much food which makes the prices worth it. The staff who served us were so friendly and awesome. This is a great place to come to for some comfort food while giving you that "back-in-the-day" diner feeling. Cyndi was our waitress & she was 5+...the meat lovers omelet was the best I've EVER had...so fluffy & loaded with meat & gooey cheddar cheese. Not to mention the Korbel mini champagne bottles for delicious Mimosas... This place has it all...we happened upon this place after a Morgan Wallen concert in the Tacoma Done...I would definitely recommend & even though I live in Central Oregon, it is well worth the drive for a Sunday Brunch!!! read more
