We got the $96pp omakase which included an eggplant amuse bouche, 12 pieces of nigiri, an otoro and uni hand roll, clam miso soup, and dessert. The fish was impeccably fresh--each piece melted in the mouth and showcased the finest seasonal selections. The chef's artistry and precision were on full display with every piece. The miso soup was a bit salty but the clams were cooked well. The mango dessert was a perfect way to end the meal. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend this place for a great omakase experience!

Real stuff!!

I love this sushi restaurant. Now on this is one of my favorite sushi restaurant. Very good quality and good service, Traditional Japanese sushi bar counter and not too dark lightings. If you like fusion sushi go somewhere. This one is truly amazing pure Japanese style sushi. They use real wasabi as well. Thanks!!

I am happy the hosted suggested to take a look to seating area in the patio , the seating has a lovely waterfall !

The food was absolutely delicious every bite was full of authentic flavor that made me feel I was in Asia. The ambiance and attention to detail really transported me. I wish I could remember the name of the staff who served us but the service was outstanding , friendly, attentive, and welcoming A truly memorable experience. I will definitely come back.

This place is literally the most underrated sushi omakase in all of Manhattan in terms of service, quality, rarity of choice and also price point And I'm speaking from experience because I've been to Japan over 40 times. I know what's going on. Chef Naotois a son of a Michelin star sushi chef. Nuff said. Arigato!!

I have been to probably 100 different omakases in nyc, and I can say without a doubt this is my favorite. This isn't a cheap foie gras / truffle / a5 overload sushi omakase. Rather, the team is fully focused on their craft. All fish is fresh from Japan and rotates on a daily basis (I went Thursday night and then again on Saturday and a lot of the fish had rotated). A lot of things I had never had and were in season. Staff was incredible - we had four people waiting on us. Restaurant ambiance very nice and clean. Could not recommend this place more!!!!

Absolutely loved this restaurant for my first omakase experience! It was $90 per person, which was pretty good considering how yummy and high quality the experience was. I loved almost every piece (except for the octopus and fatty tuna sushi - for no other reason than texture problems), and left feeling satisfied but not stuffed. Our chef was wonderful, kind, and speedy, as was our waiter. But we never felt rushed! The restaurant itself was so nice and calm, I loved the traditional-feeling decor and the ambience overall. We sat at the sushi bar and it was so fun! 10 out of 10, will definitely go back for regular dining and maybe even omakase!

Sushi and sashimi omakase

Solid sushi nestled in East Village. Went with friends for omakase and was able to get reservations without much of a struggle. They have an outdoor patio with tables reasonable separated for social distanced dining from other patrons. Ordered the sushi and sashimi omakase. It came out all at once. Fish was fresh, and portion size solid. They also had a good selection of fresh fish, but to keep things simple with my group, we all did the same omakase. The weather was amazing and great to enjoy at the patio. For omakase aficionados, table dining is blasphemy, but its really the only way to roll when you are trying to enjoy it with a group of 4. If you are looking for a more traditional sushi omakase in the area, you wont go wrong here.

Solid sushi bar in the East Village with a great outdoor patio seating option that has barricades between the tables. I would definitely recommend the patio. Just note that the omakase is served all at once given that it is not at the bar. We had the sushi and sashimi dinner and omakase with an additional yellowtail scallion roll. The quality was solid and the rolls had the perfect balance of rice to fish. Overall it's a good option for grabbing sushi - for omakase I do prefer the actual sushi bar option but this is perfectly fine for getting nigiri and rolls.

Came here on a Thursday night as one of my friends was having a strong craving for Uni. We were in the area and this spot was the first place we found that was serving Uni. The Unis, listed as Uni Maine, were listed for $8 each. We ordered quite a handful amount of them. They're served with rice on the bottom and uni on top wrapped in seaweed (assuming you don't know). We also ordered two Sushi & Sashimi Omakase, which went for $75 each. They tasted just as you expected them to taste with no real high expectations for it to be out of the world, although it was quite expensive. The entrees came with Miso Soup and although we only ordered two entrees, we got three soups for each of us. Besides the food, we ordered three different bottles of sake. Don't remember which ones and you can probably guess why. I guess from the amount of money we spent here, the server brought out another bottle on the house. *queue the "i'm in danger" meme. The server was awesome, tolerating how obnoxious we must have been (after a few bottles of course) and playing music from a bluetooth speaker. Hopefully, we helped support a local business in return. How I remembered all of this stuff to write this review is also beyond me.

First time trying this place in East Village. We each got the 12 piece omakase, which also comes with miso soup. We also got the uni platter, washu beef tataki, and homemade green tea and sesame ice cream. Great meal! The uni platter is great and it's a special for that day. The homemade ice cream is amazing! Service was great!

The most expensive Omakase.

We have been going here for 30 years. The omakase is outstanding and a relative bargain. They have a garden too.

Do you recommend to make dinner reservation during the weekdays? I don't live in NYC, but would love to have dinner there during one of the weeknights in early April. Thanks

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

They share a takeout menu and it's super easy to order--text what you want to the phone number on the website and pickup in ~20 minutes :). You pay on a handheld and they don't ask for tip for takeout. I love this process and truly wish more sushi restaurants in LA adopt the takeout box. The only one I know of is hefty but also $200 each lol, making Sanyuu's $69 omakase and $78 Everything don, not to mention the $30 giant salmon nigiri set, A STEAL! I enjoyed most of the pieces but I will say I don't like their amaebi or uni at all. I'm not sure what kind of uni is used here but it's the type with a very strong mineral flavor & aftertaste that I don't find enjoyable. We're spoiled by easy access to live spot prawns everywhere and fresh SB uni. Despite this, I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I lived in the city.

The slices aren't thin, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth as one usually gets in a sit down; they are extra thick, and I had to really bite down on some of the pieces. The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.

At the time, I thought that seemed fair enough, but looking back, I'm not so sure. For what was left in the bowl, $30 still felt overpriced. The fish slices were cut extremely thin, and there was really only a single layer of fish, so overall it just wasn't very satisfying. That said, there are still quite a few items on the menu that caught my eye and that I'd like to try. I'm going to chalk this one up to ordering the wrong dish rather than writing the place off completely. One thing that did leave a bad impression, though, was the interaction at the end of the meal. The girl who brought our check wasn't exactly rude, but she seemed visibly annoyed when we asked about using Apple Pay but ended up putting the charge on my card and it felt like asking her to bring over the Apple Pay machine was somehow inconveniencing her. She also didn't bother asking whether I wanted my receipt. Maybe none of it was intentional, but her overall demeanor came across that way and left us ending the meal with a bad taste in our mouths.
