I want to give this place all five stars. The bartenders are great, the drinks do the job very well, and the burlesque shows I've seen have been Hot! I've seen pretty cool band performances as well, the ambiance is fun and exotic and the dance floor always a blast. BUT almost every time I've been there, during intermissions they play hip hop or some other type of todays music. I hate that it ruins the feel of what the place is supposed to be... Classic! I came here for a burlesque show with my friend. We arrived slightly early- the doors weren't open yet, but when I approached security/staff to ask about my will-call tickets (I saw no window), they were very courteous and told me they'd open the doors in a minute or two. Inside, the service was spectacular. Our waitress (I believe her name is Kia) was friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks/cocktails, and while I didn't have any (designated driver) my friend took the waitress's recommendation. Once she tried it, she said it didn't even taste like alcohol (for us, that's a good thing) and it in fact tasted like a sour gummy candy. We will most definitely be back! read more

They've got amazing talent rolling through on the regular and have a great room, sound and stage. The venue is underground and has a cool speakeasy feel, although they could use a better sign on the promenade.. Their 'Sunday Jams' are FREE and awesome! Learned about this place through our Uber driver and when he mentioned a speakeasy-type bar, we just had to check it out. The entrance is to the left side of Congregation and down the stairs. I've been to a show at Harvelle's in the past but not at this location. It was at the Santa Monica location. At the show that I went to prior it was fantastic, so much fun. We didn't have VIP tickets either. Got to see the entire show no problem! This time, not so much. From what I was able to see it looked like it definitely could have been a fantastic show. VIP tickets were sold out so we settled for general admission which is fine. I understand that when having general admission tickets you should expect to not have as great seats, but generally still be able to see the stage and show from a further distance. (which is fine as well and understandable) We were seated but in front of us was this about two feet in width post/wall that blocked our view completely of the stage. I don't understand why there is even seats there. We were able to view part of the show that was not on the stage but more in the middle. We were seated on the outer section. They didn't really perform or barely at all in the aisle where we were seated. From our view we could see maybe one dancer performing for a few seconds on stage, but the rest of show was merely shadows! lol Unfortunately we paid for two general admission tickets to look at that post/wall and shadows while having cocktails. Sorry Harvelle's we were disappointed, we didn't get to have the full feel and experience of this event. read more

I brought my wife here for my birthday. It was a really fun time , the ambience was amazing and it was an overall good experience. But we couldn't help to notice the blatant lack of diversity in the dancers. It would have been great for there to be a wider range or representation in the dancers.Long Beach is a very diverse place and I think that a unique establishment like this, with so many exciting fresh things to offer, should reflect that. read more

Came in around midnight and they were playing oldies. I love the atmosphere of the place! Dim with red lights, awesome chairs to lounge around and a stage! I would expect this place to be really awesome with some live music. Not many people were there when we were there, we decided to request for music and he decided to play our music and we were having a blast, dancing around the stage and everything. I've been here twice to see a burlesque show and had positive experiences both times. (This review is only related to the venue because it wouldn't be fair to review based on the shows.) Accessed via a staircase underneath Congregation Ale, the venue is dimly lit and intimate, like a lounge. There is seating on the sides, at the bar, and in front of the stage, in addition to standing room. Service is prompt, waiters come by often enough to check in on you without disrupting the experience. Food comes from Congregation so it's tasty and pretty quick to arrive. The drinks are good, not too stiff but certainly not watered down. The Old Fashioned is phenomenal. The one thing that frustrates me is that they've over admitted both times I've gone. They crowd the seats together and at the second show I went to, it was so packed that the performers had trouble walking through the aisles. One almost accidentally whacked someone with a prop! Otherwise, a great venue with a relaxed vibe. read more

There were incredible comics, a couple of them that I recognized from TV, great dancers, and snakes! What a hidden show! Comedy. Dance. Stripping. Theatrics. Booze. This place has it all! You will laugh until your stomach hurts and tears roll down into your drink. The dancing is truly the wow factor. SO MANY TASSLES. We came here for their Harry Potter themed Burlesque show and I loved it so much! I honestly want more if it! There is general admission which allows you to stand in the rear next to the bar; however, if you want a more immersive experience then I recommend purchasing a reserved seat which allows you to be front and center in the reserved section closest to the stage. The dancers will come off stage, walk around, and sometimes dance on the bar top. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. I can't wait to return! read more

Went here for anniversary to try something new. We went for the 11pm show but arrived early. They let us in with no hassle while they prepared for the show. The earlier show crowd was still there,the seats were full so we waited by the bar. When the show started we were taken to our seats and it was a much smaller crowd than before. The MC was cool but since the crowd was smaller they were kinda dead. Each act had a special talent. My favorite was the opening act. She sang while doing a strip tease. One lady was really flexible she used a hanging prop and then there were 2 special performers. It was a variety show and over all it was different not like the boot popping strip clubs. Saw Little Miss Nasty 11-30-2017 Bartender was kick ass! He kept up with the moving pace of the patrons coming in... we never had to wait when we approached the bar. The waitress during the show kept our table clear of empty glassware... but never once offered to take our order, which explains the constant visits to the bar... I will be back. This is a cute underground bar in Long Beach. A little backstory, I've been there three times now, for various shows. I went Thursday, 2/7/19, for a comedy headliner that my husband is a fan of. It's not real roomy in there but is ventilated well enough. The ticket process is insane and every time I tried to buy tickets for their "reserved area", on the website it turned out to be just general admisssion. I bought 2 $10 tickets ($20), which was the most expensive ticket they had on their website. (Long story, the website wasn't working properly) So I upgraded another $20 when I got there. We were seated in the middle of the room, and then shortly after was asked to move, which I did not mind, because of the lighting in my eyes, but the table was not better, stage was blocked by someone (more important? Bc I asked to sit in the booth they had, when we were asked to move and was told no, at least 15 mins before anyone sat there). My most upsetting issue was last night I had a vasovagal episode. I passed out due to several triggers in the room, ( including one lady who was vapping) So I put my head down on the table, trying not to make a scene. Now I don't remember the wait staff asking if I was okay, but my husband told them I just needed some time. (Not our first pass out). And you could see I was in physical distress. (Sweating profusely, I couldn't hear or see due to tunnel vision, laying my head down on the table) I tried to sit up several times because I was told I couldn't "sleep". I wasn't asleep and that was verbalized to them. You see if I sit up too fast, I'll just pass out again. Well, the bouncer came over and told me I would have to leave if I couldn't sit up. I have not paid $40 to sit in an obstructed view and be told I may have to leave. ( Which would have not been physically able for me to do.) I did sit up, because my husband wanted to see the headliner, and passed out two more times. So as my review ends, the acts were okay, the drinks are good, the tater tots are AWESOME. They shows I have been to did not start on time. Last night started 30-45 mins late. But their management is lacking. Does this establishment not cater to those with disabilities? (i am a disabled military veteran) I think maybe a little more customer service and compassion would go a long way. I brought a few friends here for my boyfriends birthday. I have heard great things about this place and wanted to try it out. The music and the ladies were incredible!! The only reason I gave this review 3 stars was because the waitress was terrible! Normally I give people the benefit of the doubt when it is busy or short staffed but my boyfriend thinks she might have been drunk as a skunk but I am not too sure. She not only at one point forgot to bring drinks we ordered, gave us someone else drinks, then remembered to bring ONE of the drinks we actually ordered almost 30 minutes after we ordered them all together. That's not it...she charged us for another couples order, I got up because I had enough, fixed and paid for my groups bill, to then later be surprised with another bill that was $101 bucks wait what?
