Tash M.

We had a roaring good time at harvelles on a Monday night with a Star Wars themed show including a live band in full character and regalia! Great energy and crowd. It's not going to be a highly polished and technically advanced set of dancers but rather just some great entertainment at a very reasonable price with all good seats to watch the show. Kudos for the grilled cheese pop up which provided some much needed grub to soak up the drinks.

Had a blast! All comedians were a hoot! If you've never been to should go to Harvelle's!

Great service and atmosphere for live music. Sound was great and hats off the front of house and the mix. Well done.

The Amy Winehouse experience was out of this world.

Ask the Community - Harvelle's

Will Harvelle's in Long Beach be open on 2-22-25?? We have $400 in chips left over from out last visit

Im pretty sure they are closed. You can ask their instagram

What's the dress code if any and vaccine required?

Hi Meri! The dress code is very casual, but some people dress up. They do look at your vaccine record, though maybe not now due to the lifting of restrictions.…

Can I have a negative Covid test within 24 hours and attend?

Did you ever get an answer for this? Thanks

Do you Host Brunch on Sunday's?

They have very tasty fingerfood, but I was there yesterday, and I did not a brunch menu...

Are there male burlesque dancers or only female?

Possibly some are drag queens...not an expert.

Does this place get really busy on Saturday night for the 9:00pm show? Or will I be able to find available seating if I can't reserve the VIP seating?

If you get there a little early you will be fine

I have friends coming to visit with a nineteen-year-old daughter will she be able to get in?

Edited answer - Yes, this is 21 & Over. :/ I was just there last night and you get carded at the door. :( Sorry hun! Maybe wait 2 yrs until she's 21! It's fun to go! ;) I am sure she'll love it!

I saw that there's a two minimum drink , I don't drink alcohol, is it a must to buy a drink when I attend a masquerade show?

Like most clubs, there is a 2 drink minimum. However, it doesn't have to be an alcoholic beverage -- could be a soda, tea, etc :)

Do they serve any non-alcoholic drinks?

Yes, bottled water & fountain drinks

Do they serve food or appetizers?

Yes they do.. I think just appetizers

Do we have to print the tickets purchased online?

No, they have a list of names at the door. Unless your party doesn't show up together than the guests who didn't purchase the tickets would need their printed tickets for entrance

Is there a dress code?

This place is definitely dress to impress.

What should I wear?

something moderately classy but I wouldn't worry too much.....depends on the night

I love the fact that the music acts walk up those steps onto the small stage, they are like right there infront of you. Not behind some barricade and the stage is not so high up. A couple years ago, you could…read moreget there around 9, put your name on the list, and usually sing before the midnight list came out. Now you definitely have to get there early, which is understandable. The reason I'm giving this one star is because of the bouncer. There's a sign saying no leaving and reentry and that bags are subject to checks. I've been here multiple times and have never actually had my bag checked. My friend wanted to go to her car to get a pain reliever, and she and I were going to step outside because the bouncer has let her leave and come back in before. When we asked, he said he would let her go out and come back in, but he wouldn't let me go with her. I explained that I wanted to go because, in my opinion, this is not an area where I feel comfortable with two women walking outside alone late at night. His response was, "It's perfectly safe." I understand that he may have a different opinion, but sitting inside the gated entrance, he's not the one who would be walking to the car with us. Later, when a male friend from our group tried to go outside with her instead, the bouncer made him read the no-reentry sign multiple times. At that point, we all decided to leave. What bothered me most was the inconsistency. If the rules on the sign are going to be strictly enforced, then they should be consistently enforced--including the bag checks that are listed on the same sign. And if exceptions are going to be made, they should be applied consistently rather than depending on who is asking. I came here expecting to have a fun karaoke night, and unfortunately the way this was handled left such a bad taste in my mouth that we won't be coming back. If you're looking for a karaoke spot in Long Beach, just be aware that this was my experience with the security at this particular bar.

Only problem would be is if you didn't see the bag policy on their site. I saw lots of people being turned away due to their bag size. Their measurements are 5" H x 8" W x 2" D which is not reasonable in my opinion but it is their policy. Thankfully the bag I brought was very tiny. RESTROOMS: I think there's only one restroom downstairs and I am sorry but if this place seats 3k people, you need at least restrooms on every floor or something. I think this was the longest line I spent my time in BOTH TIMES at the start and the end of the show. SEATING: The seats are pretty old. They could do with a new remodel. I have never been here but thought sitting 18 rows back wasn't that bad. It is slightly staggered I think. I had an excellent view so it was fine for me. It would have been a problem if the person in front of me was much taller. THE SHOW: Lucy Darling is FABULOUS!!! It was an awesome show!! No notes on her performance because I would come back to see her. OVERALL: A nice theater that could use a lot of work because it is such a pretty impressive theater!

This was my first visit to the Long Beach Terrace Theater to see Joe Satriani and Steve Vai touring…read moretogether as the SatchVai band. The venue has its own multi-story parking lot which is very easy to access, and only charges $15. We arrived thirty minutes before the show, and there was no line to enter the parking lot with many parking spaces available. After a very short walk across the garage and going up a one-story staircase (there is also an elevator), we were on the ground level with the theater. Unfortunately, you have to walk all the way around the large fountain area to reach the security checkpoint and entrance. There was no line and we passed through quickly. Luckily, after the show, you could walk directly to the garage without having to go around again. The theater seats around 3,000 people and has floor, loge, and balcony sections. It is very clean and has a modern feel. The main lobby is spacious and has high ceilings. There are bars on all levels, and some basic food items downstairs. There were also a few food and drink spots in front outside. The concert hall has very high ceilings and is also very modern. We sat on the floor in the second row. The seats were padded and comfortable, and the spacing between adjacent seats and between rows was good. The view of the performers was amazing. There was a large projection screen behind the stage, with various video playing throughout the show. There was some fog on the stage, and the lighting was good, but nothing exceptional. Sitting so close is great for pictures and videos, and you're oblivious to the other 2,900 people in the theater. It almost feels like you're getting a private performance. However, the sound can be hit or miss depending on the performers' preferences and venue's audio setup. The main speaker arrays here hang directly over the first few rows in front of the stage. For the opening band, we couldn't hear any of the guitars at all. Joe played almost completely through his on-stage amps only and the sound was perfect. Steve's mix was half through his amps and half through the main speaker arrays. We could hear his guitar, but not nearly as well as Joe's. It's not the venues fault, the sound is usually optimized for the majority of the theater, and the first few rows may suffer. The opening band was Animals As Leaders. I've seen them a few times over the years as an opener for Steve Vai. They are an instrumental guitar focused band with the unique characteristic that both guitarists use eight-string guitars which gives them a unique sound. Joe Satriani and Steve Vai started out the main show together. They are two of the greatest rock guitar legends to ever play. They played a few original songs together that they co-wrote, followed by both individual and joint performances of a dozen of their popular songs. Steve's unique three-neck Hydra guitar made an appearance. There was also an encore with cover versions of Rock and Roll and Born to be Wild. I've seen Joe 25 times and Steve seven times, and I'll continue to go to every show when they are in town. In between the opening band and the main show, we immediately went to use the ground level restrooms which are downstairs. The lines were already extremely long. On a whim, we went upstairs and the restrooms on both sides initially had very short lines. After only five minutes, the upstairs lines also started to get long. Go upstairs fast and you should have a much shorter wait. The show was great and I really liked the venue. It's modern, clean, and comfortable, with various amenities. The sound mix was a mixed bag sitting in front, but it wasn't the venue's fault. If you want the best chance of a good sound mix, don't sit up front. Parking was very convenient and very affordable. I would definitely come see a show here again. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

There wasn't a server or water walking around, so I had gone straight to the bar and talked to the bartender. He was very sweet and tried his best to hear me. Impeccable hearing, I'd say, because it was loud in there. I ordered an IPA with fish and chips. He gave me a number, which I was grateful for to ensure they'd find me outside. I sat outside with my fiancé, and we enjoyed our time people watching. Although they were extremely busy, our food came out within 10 - 15 minutes. The fish was very good; it was crispy and flaky. The exterior is modest and understated, but the neon grasshopper sign really pops and gives you a hint of what's waiting inside. Upon entering, we were greeted by security, which immediately helped us feel safe and comfortable. The ambiance was elegant, sophisticated, and timeless. Tasteful vintage artwork of women adorned the walls, while the balanced lighting created just the right mood. The cozy booths are perfect for intimate conversations, and the bar seating gives guests an opportunity to chat with the bartenders. Every detail--from the beautiful light fixtures to the convenient purse hooks--felt thoughtfully considered. The cocktail menu offers a great variety of creative craft cocktails and classics, along with beer and draft selections. Of course, I had to try the Grasshopper cocktail, and it did not disappoint! Served in a coupe glass, it was beautifully presented, delicious, and very well made. I visited on a weeknight, but I noticed a DJ setup and disco ball, so it looks like the space is ready for a fun night of music as well.
