went today and bought 4 pounds of jerky meat as i have done many times. today when i got home it was a lot of fat out of 4 pounds of meat there was 1 and3/4 pounds of fat i trimmed off, this has never happened before so i called with my concerns and was told thats just the way it is. Called on the phone a couple times and no answer. When they finally answered, the very nice professional lady (sarcasm) finally answered. Wanted to give them a heads up that I will be showing up a couple minutes before closing, we show up and door is locked. Customer service is some of the worst we have seen. I generally buy a quarter to a side of beef every year. I tried a few years ago and they told me they didn't sell it that way only their bundles. I spoke to a lady a month ago who said she was the owner. She made a good sales pitch and I thought I would give them a chance. Meat looks great. Looking forward to eating it. I've always gotten quality meat from Harvard meats. My complaint- I was told one total for the weight of the beef I was and when I got home, it was over 30 pounds less than what they told me. When I called back, the gentleman had a very dismissive attitude. Said he was trying to give me a fast number on the phone, 30 pounds is a big variance, and I was still getting a good deal. I try to support local business, but not if they're going to do business like this. read more

Called several meat markets looking for this cut. Harvard had one and said they'd hold it for me. When I got there they showed it to me and offered to trim it to perfection and they did. Son in law did the rest on his Traeger. His proprietary rub and about 5 hours of indirect heat. Possibly the best pork I've ever had. FYI it was about $10 per pound. And worth it. read more

If you want good meat, don't go to Harvard Meats. I ordered a full tenderloin, cut into steaks, at a price of $204. What I got was a few steaks, and 12 supposedly tenderloin patties. And those patties are almost inedible. I called and spoke to the boss, who told me that of course the patties weren't any good, since they were all connective tissue. But what I bought, was what I got. He said, "If you're that incompetent, I can't help you. You got your steaks." And now he's got my review. I heartily recommend Hanover's Meats instead. read more

I needed ground lamb for a special recipe. The usual grocery stores don't carry it, but Harvard Meats does. That and other less common and very interesting high quality meat choices. Prices are reasonable, staff friendly, and, offers the experience of an old fashion but important butcher. These people believe meat cutting is an art. I also understand that they can process that bison you bagged in the woods behind your house. I will be visiting them often. read more

Green meat!! A N.Y. Strip steak I bought yesterday was green when I unwrapped it this morning. Had to trim a lot away to get rid of the green. This is the second time I have bought meat that turned green or grey quickly. They obviously are selling old meat. I'll find another source for meat. read more

I purchased a side of beef from the Broken Arrow store and took advantage of the offer of a free freezer with the purchase of a side of beef. The quality of the meat was excellent; however, the cost of the meat was just over $1600 after tax, and I only got 123 pounds of meat. That means I paid about $13 a pound for steaks, roasts, and hamburger. After that meat ran out, I went to Beard Brothers Meat and bought a side of beef. They told me up front how much the side weighed and the price was $5.00 per pound no matter how I wanted it cut. The side weighed 415 pounds and I paid just over $2000 but I got over 350 pounds of meat. At less than $6 a pound net it was a much better deal. read more

Thought I was getting a decent deal because 70 lbs of meat sounded like a good idea for 99 dollars but when I got home and unpacked everything I was greatly disappointed. I could have spent the money elsewhere and Horton a whole lot more the chicken they is the bagged chicken I normally buy at warehouse market for 8 dollars a bag the pork chops are paper thin along the steaks some of the ground beef is only half a pound instead of full pound terribly overpriced place I will never return and they forgot to put my pork steaks in the bag as well so now I get to go back and pick up:/ was also supposed to get four 5 pound bags of potatoes but all I got was two bags of five pound potatoes and they threw a few in these people will rip you off!!!! read more

I've never bought a bad cut of meat from Harvard Meats. For many years it's been my "go to" place to buy for special occasions. The pork butts they offer are spectacular, and I've actually cooked one of their tri-tips at the same time and in the same way as a regular store bought cut, and everyone agreed that the Harvard Meats product was better. I'm sorry they've moved from 15th & Harvard; I guess BA will get my sales tax dollars. read more

This is a great old-fashioned butcher shop. They cut the meat the way you want it. Their beef is well marbled and properly aged. We've had steaks, burgers, and ribs from here. I bought a nice 12 lb. prime rib roast for Mothers Day. They trimmed and tied it properly and it was wonderful. Don't buy your meats at the big box stores - give this mom and pop store your business and get the real deal. read more

I placed an order over the phone which was a big mistake on my part. I should've asked what their prices were so I ended up spending more than I wanted. That wasn't their fault but the quality of meat I got was horrible. One of the things I ordered was 1/2 pound of roast beef, the quality wasn't very good, very rubbery and it looked like whoever put together the order just threw it in the zip lock bag. I also felt like the food was very overpriced for the quality, I also purchased 3 t bones which was $45, and I ordered 3 pounds of ground beef individually packed in 1 pound increments which was $5 a pound! I would've gotten a better deal if I went to Perry's or even Wal-mart at this rate. Definitely won't be going back there again. read more

I've driven by here many times, and I always thought it was kind of silly with its painted animals on outer walls. But I went in recently and they really have a fantastic meat selection. It is smaller inside than I expected, but the steaks we got were very high quality and good cuts. I enjoyed my Harvard Meats purchases! My friends and I came here to get some T-bone steaks to grill. The meat turned out to be good but they were $22 a piece. I can't agree with the heavy price for the quality. If you are willing to spend the money then more power to you. For the price, it wasn't mind blowing. I'm giving it a three star for average overall as it wasn't anything spectacular.
