We ate and drank here while staying at the Airlie. Service was great. The pub itself is a really nice big space, with pub games to play and a decent selection of drinks. Popcorn is free. A hidden gem....daughter lives in Warrenton and she did not know where it was....once found - beautiful grounds! The pub downstairs from the catering hall was very contemporary - the staff was very friendly. The menu offered many choices - we had the loaded potatoes for appetizers-delicious combination of flavors. The beet salad was a nice treat, too. Meals and desserts were fantastic! Think it is more $$$, not $$, but worth every penny. read more

Harry's has finally arrived. My wife and I tried it twice earlier this year and after a couple of not so great experiences we left saying we hoped Harry's would make it. We live nearby and badly wanted it to be our favorite hidden spot to go. I recently made two more visits and all was on point. The service was quick, efficient, and helpful. The server and bartender even went out of their way to make a drink I like that was not on their menu. The food came out hot and delicious. For anyone who tried Harry's when it first opened and was not happy, I strongly encourage you to go back. read more

I've been to Harry's a few times and I have mixed feeling about this place. The food tastes amazing which is why I keep going back BUT the food quality has not always been the best. Let me explain...the other day when we were here I ordered a Caesar salad and the flavor was great but a lot of the lettuce which they used was soggy and brownish in color. Yesterday when I was there I ordered a 16 ounce prime rib and again the flavor was delicious but the piece of meat which I received was extremely fatty. Not the glassy marble yummy fat but hard blubber fat which there is no way you can eat. I am just disappointed because the food is very pricey which is fine because it's delicious but just seems they should use better quality ingredients. As far as their service, the drinks the bartender made weren't the greatest and she appeared a little cranky maybe having a bad day. Four of us went to Harry's for dinner and I have to say it was a great experience. I had been there in summer for happy hour several times to enjoy their patio by the large pond but never for a full meal. We had appetizers, main courses and beer/wine. The service was friendly, courteous, attentive and prompt. For the appetizer we had the Short Rib Potato Skins which is a mix of their locally grown braised beef, bacon, scallion, pico di gallo and a mild BBQ crème in potato skins that were perfectly cooked so as not to be tough. No one flavor stood out but the combination was very good. For the main course we had Rib eyes, White Bass and Sea Scallops all served cooked to perfection and accompanied with sauces and sides that went perfectly. The wine list is short but offers some good selections. The atmosphere is that of an upscale pub, but the food is definitely not pub fare. This restaurant has lovely outdoor seating. My steak sandwich was delicious. My only complaint, and it is not limited to just this restaurant, is that the live music was too loud. I Do not go to restaurants to attend a concert, but to eat and talk with my companions. We had to almost shout at each other and strain to hear due to the amplified music. A nice singer with an acoustic guitar would be much preferable. read more

I've been here twice and had a good experience both times. A 1-point deduction because last time, the service was so slow that we twice had to hunt down our server, first just to order, then to find out where our food was after waiting 40 minutes. That said, the service both times was friendly (if spotty), the food delicious, and the location just beautiful. 2nd visit to this location. Their patio is awesome and the view is relaxing. We visited yesterday, 6/14/19 for dinner. Arrived and went inside to tell hostess we would be dining on patio. Hostess brought us menus. After about 20 minutes and several attempts to get one of the wait staffs attention to get a drink we gave up. My husband went inside to the bar to get us drinks. It was probably another 20 minutes before the wait staff came to see if we needed a refill, at that point we asked to order an appetizer and the staff member seemed surprised we wanted food. Appetizer arrived and was delicious. I do believe that wait staff needs to work more efficiently and perhaps work certain tables instead of the entire restaurant. If we decide to return we will not go with the intent of being waited on quickly. read more

I really wish I could give Harry's a better rating. The pros are that if the weather is nice and you can sit outside it is a fabulous environment. I would also say the food is pretty good. The problem with Harry's is the service. It is terrible. I have been there three times in the past year and each time service has been an issue. The first time the service was slow in general and it took about ten minutes longer for two of our party of six to get their dinners. The second time was a surprise party my husband threw for me. While we had a large party, they knew in advance the number of people that would be there. Being the birthday girl several people tried to order a drink for me. It took almost an hour before I got my first drink and I was never asked by staff what I wanted so fortunately my friends were persistent. Just a glass of water would have been appreciated by a certain point. When we sat down to dinner there were several people who didn't get their dinner until the rest of us were finishing up. I'm not sure one of our guests ever did get her dinner. With the amount of money spent on this large party we definitely expected better service. I think the staff was trying but were understaffed. The last time we went to Harry's we had a party of five. When they brought out our food they did not have my husband's entree. He had ordered the same thing as two others. We waited for awhile to start eating hoping he would get it soon. Eventually we told everyone to eat as their meals were getting cold. The waiter did not apologize in the beginning. At some point my husband let another staff member know he expected better service for the money being spent. The waiter came out a few minutes later made a rude statement and said the meal would be out soon. During the waiting process he was also slow to bring new drinks. My husband was frustrated with waiting and the comment so finally he asked if I would just go in and ask them to put it in a to go box whenever it was ready. He no longer felt like eating. When I went inside I made a point of telling the manager we needed it wrapped up because the rest of us were almost finished. It took a little bit longer but they finally brought it out. I completely understand having a bad night but this has happened the last three times. I also understand people make mistakes but the waiter should have apologized from the beginning, owned up to his mistake- he obviously didn't put the right number of meals in that were the same- and then asked what he could do in the meantime to make it better. What I completely can't understand is why the manager never came out to apologize for the inconvenience himself. It was incredibly unprofessional! I am truly disappointed. The food is good and we love the atmosphere. We would love to make this a regular spot to go eat but I don't know that we will ever return because of the service. read more

So I have to say that I was super disappointed tonight with Harry's. The service was terrible. We literally should have tipped ourselves as our waitress was nowhere to be found and when she was she was unapologetic for the slow service and seemed totally aloof. The manger walked around in his aqua shirt and couldn't be bothered to smile or help out at all. We could barely get drinks let alone some water. Three charred scallops for 18$ was a bit ridiculous as well. I will say their burgers were fantastic but overall my experience was pretty sub par. The chicken wrap was the best chicken wrap and loved the sauce with it. My favorite is the pastrami sandwich, homemade and fresh from the farm. Amazing!!! Don't forget about the fresh cut french fries with rosemary oil on them. read more

We were vacationing in Virginia and someone recommended Harry's, which turned out to be a perfect place to spend a chilly fall evening. We started with delicious appetizers and wine on the patio, seated around a cozy fire table. My sister tried a pumpkin martini and soon we all ordered them - yum! Moving inside, we had mouthwatering steaks from cattle we learned were raised on the grounds. The farm-to-table experience is impressive. I cannot imagine the work that goes into sustainably offering local food year round. We heard Harry's recently hired a new chef who is responsible for the great menu. When you dine at Harry's, you'll enjoy a wonderful view of a pond, a fountain, and a "LOVE" sign in the background. With all the stress that residents of the Washington, DC area have on a daily basis, this is the place where you get in touch with nature and get rid of your stress. The ingredients for most entrees are homegrown. For lunch, I had an Angus burger and a salmon for dinner. Both were delicious and properly seasoned. I have a no-salt dietary restriction, and the staff accommodated me with no problem at all. The waiting staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and demand-driven. The food was served on a timely basis. However, allow me to make an observation. Even if it takes a bit longer, who cares after being exposed to such a relaxing ambiance. When I suggested to the restaurant manager that the best background-music for conversation was the bossa nova, he obliged instantly by playing it on the stereo system. It can't get any better than this! Although we live in the Tampa Bay Area, we'll gladly market this restaurant to our VA/DC/MD friends, and will return when we are back in the area. read more

This place is a hidden diamond! Fantastic! The food was superb and the service was first class! A great selection of wines and beers too. Our party of 4 sat outside for the first half of our visit and enjoyed the beautiful landscaping and gardens while having drinks on a very comfortable outdoor sofa set next to the fire. The indoors was very cozy and reminded us of a typical colonial tavern. Corey, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure our table was well attended to. Caley, our server, was always checking on us and making sure everything we needed or asked for was at the table on time. Everyone in the staff was fantastic. Beautiful setting by the water. Waited 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were there, then to have the table cleaned, and then drink orders---. Service was slow, screaming children running around with unattentive drinking parents. Overpriced beverages, albeit the appetizers were yummy! After getting my car to pick up my disabled hubby, we were rudely reprimanded by a rent a cop and told where the handicap parking was and we couldn't park in the circle (which we didn't). Thanks Harry's we won't be back since you can't seem to tolerate indifferences. read more

My husbamd and I had "date night" here on a Saturday. He and my daughter found this place a few weeks ago and my husband brought me back. Unfortunately, it was not as awesome as he had made it out to be. The waitress eventually said they were down a server at the end of the night but I fail to see how that makes dinner for two take 2+ hours. Our reservation was for 7pm but we were early. They were not full and they seated us right away so that was good. The host (?) Took muly husband's drink order and went away. I was still deciding so that was fine however, no one showed back up for several minutes and then just plopped my husband's drink down. Our waitress finally came over and we ordered dinner since it had been a while since we sat down and Ibwas able to order a drink. This is when the wait began. We got waters and after a few minutes I got my drink. Then, we waited. And waited. And waited. Nothing. It had been an hour and no food. No refills. No nothing. Finally the waitress alcamr over and said the food was almostbout and that she was sorry and that they were busy. The restaurant was not full so I wonder what the heck they would do if it was. About an 75 mins later, dinner atrived. The food is great. My steak flatbread was yummy. We decided to order dessert. That was a mistake. 30+ minutes later, no dessert. It was cake. I doubt the were baking it to order. We finally gave up and asked for the check since we had to pick up our daughter. The check took a while as well, the waitress said they were down a server. Ok, why wasn't this mentioned before and why did it take so long for food? Something else was going on with the kitchen. I have been around the restaurant business enough to know kitchen issues. Just be honest. The waitress did pack up our cake to go and did take off a beer. I am,just dissapointed that a simple dinner out took 2+ hours. We had to race back home to pick up our child. I don't know if the wait was worth the food. I would absolutely call ahead and check of all the staff showed up before I would eat here again. Or, I would go on a night when I had. A least 3 hours for dinner. I am disappointed. read more
