To management: I'm a local, who went with a friend on a Thurs. evening to grab a bite and a drink, only to discover there's NO warm food in winter. 5 or 6 "cold choices" only ~ like a summer camp menu. Worst decision ever. No soups, chili, pasta, stews, or even a burger and fries. NO comfort food, and yet a lovely outdoor view, with a big vibrantly Xmas tree and patio lights glowing. Harry's has the potential to be a true winter draw ~ with a little thought and minimal investment, it could have true "ski lodge" appeal and real ambience. Instead it has a Holiday Inn institutional feel. Buy some wool carpets, put in an electric fireplace, hang some local art (for sale by artist), put battery operated candles (that work) on each table, play REAL music (try jazz, blues, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, or even crossover musicians/intergenerational). Offer a basic 5 or 6 choice hearty winter pub menu, and maybe even have music on Fri. nights. What a MISSED OPPORTUNITY. There are mostly chain restaurants in Warrenton. Go for it year round or close. Patrons need constancy, season to season. By the way, the bartender (Josh) and wait staff were great! Kudos to them for operating so gracefully under such limited circumstances. Shame on small thinking management. read more

The best Huevos Rancheros ever!!!!!! Great service, beautiful atmosphere - will be back soon!

Our third visit here and what a nice experience again on the patio overlooking the pond. It is just a few miles up the road located in the Arlie Conference Center. All farm to table using their own angus beef and gardens managed all as part of American University. We had the Mediterranean pita dip and grilled chicken in Caesar salad. What a treat to repose in the sun on the patio with good food and reasonable cost. We will be back and even try to convince my Wednesday men's lunch group to consider using as a place for our lunches. read more

I really want to like this place: you can't beat the outdoor atmosphere and the farm-to-table concept. However, I've visited several times and continue to be disappointed. To start, there seems to be no real changes to the menu over the seasons, which one would expect with a farm-to-table concept. But, the biggest problem is the service. It is non-existent. Each time I've come, there are excuses from the manager and servers (short staffed, new hires, etc.). Every time! This is absolutely not the case. How is it that we are the only customers on a beautiful day and we still have to wait a long time just to order? It's just such a shame. I feel like this restaurant has so much potential. But, there's a reason why I've never had to wait to get a table here. read more

Well where do I begin? Had a large group at the resort for other reasons and stumbled into Harry's. We assumed with 10 of us we couldn't get a table and had no reservation. But I asked anyway. The mgr. type person who greeted us told us they were slower than they had anticipated for this night and that she could seat us. So we got a table. All adults - no kids and we wanted to get drinks and some food. They knew this as we told them our intentions when they seated us. So then... 20 minutes go by and finally someone brought us water! Another 5 minutes went by and a young girl comes out all confused and takes our drink orders. She was not very good at her job and could not answer questions. She didn't let us do appetizer orders yet so we waited. Then astonishingly - another 20 minutes went by before we got out drinks! 45 minutes to get a damn drink. We wanted food but it was such a shit show that we threw in the towel and left. They bring our bills - 3 separate bills within the group of 10. That was a show in and of itself but finally we got our checks.... I paid my check and was about to leave when the young girl brings me another check and says she didn't have one of our drinks on the first check...!!!! This place is a mess. Nice venue and looked like a nice restaurant. But the service is AWFUL and I cant speak to the food - because we NEVER GOT ANY!!! I will not be going back and recommend you steer clear. Very disappointing! read more

Lovely location. Really terrible food. Soggy salad, rubber chicken, and a very small portion of very bland fish. read more

As Harry's business gets bigger, the food quality has gone downhill. For the price, it needs to have a higher standard for everything. The noise level inside is so high you can no longer talk to your friends at your table. There was not enough outside seating so no choice about sitting inside. The time from start to finish was 2 hours. It took way too long to bring food. The waitstaff is adorable, attentive and completely overworked and overwhelmed. Come on Harry's! Come back up to where you were 6 months ago. read more

Great place to grab drinks or grab food worth the drive in the sceneries amazing do yourself a favor have the nachos but make sure to add extra queso it's awesome read more

Great venue and I know that they want to build their business but there are a few things they need to change: 1. Lower the drink prices by $1-2. I will only come about 1-2x a year because the cost of the drinks is unreasonable. Wine should run about $6-7/glass, not $8-10. Being familiar with the wholesale cost of wine, you are still making a killing. 2. Add better bar fare. More small bites. Guests/customers aren't coming in for dinner as much as they are coming in for something to soak up the alcohol while they drink. 3. Consider re-designing parking options. The patio was a great idea but the took away most options to park closely to the entrance. During rainy and winter months, I cannot see myself or my friends taking that long dark walk from the lot that is available. read more

Great weather calls for dining al fresco at Harry's. Currently closed because of COVID-19, but I keep checking for their reopening. Indoor seating is available as well, but patio dining by the lake is a great way to wrap up your day. Menu items are locally sourced. Guests of Airlie are their staple clientele- but a few locals know it and love it! read more

Nice place for dinner. Ate outside and could hear the live music from inside. The spaghetti bolognese was amazingly good! Had the house red wine that was made for the Airlie mansion from Barboursville vineyards. read more

This is a gorgeous place to enjoy an outdoor glass of wine or cocktail, both reasonably priced. Outdoor seating is fabulous. . The service and the food both fall short of the splendor of the location. Service is young, untrained unmanaged and humorously awful. Food is okay at generous best. We ordered apps, entrees, specials and stopped after the second bite of each. Rubbery greasy scallop pucks, bland over cooked sauceless pasta and red snapper that was seared into oblivion and served over old, cold risotto. Yikes. Location is great, burgers smelled terrific. Think teenage run pool snack bar with alcohol and you'll have it. That's not exactly a bad thing. It's just an odd fit for such a high end venue. read more

The flatbread was delicious. The view and setting was peaceful. I had a great experience which was made all the better by our server Erika.

HORRIBLE AWFUL FOOD AND SERVICE. Was visiting Warrenton for a three day wedding and stayed at Airlie. reservations do not matter. we waited 25 minutes for a table among empty tables. ordered drinks at the bar at a hi top table, that took 20 minutes before we sat at a table on our own. drinks arrived another ten minutes late after we were asked by staff to take our drink order 2 times. our appetizers never arrived and we complained to the bar tender who then offered us a round of drinks. after 15 minutes he came to our table with one bottle of beer, he was not authorized to comp drinks to us. it took another 5 minutes to hail someone to get another round of drinks and take our dinner order. the food SUCKED! i do not care about the local raised beef...it was fatty, greasy and tasteless. horrible food, service and no manager to be found. read more

Wow! What an excellent find! Food was super classy but still had a quaint pub feeling. Huge local beer and wine selection. The wings, scallop app, and shrimp shooters were top notch! The burger with pork belly may possibly be the best I have ever had. Staff was incredibly friendly and we had wonderful service. We can't wait to go back. Definitely a must try!!! read more

I go to Harry's time and time again, I love the staff and they are so kind to me and my family. The new menu change was such a welcome surprise and we are able to truly enjoy it so much more. I often order the Cheesesteak sandwich and my boyfriend absolutely adores the Chimichurri burger that they provide. The live music on the weekend is wonderful and the comfort level is so high its great. The food is fresh and delicious, none of it is frozen. I was able to take a walk around the farm and really see where the produce and meats come from. Truly blessed to have this restaurant in the Warrenton area. Will be coming back for years and years no matter what. read more

A hidden gem in the sleepy little town of Warrenton. Definitely worth the drive. If you like burgers, do yourself a favor and make the trip down here ASAP. Atmosphere: I'm not usually an atmosphere guy but this place is a perfect 5/5. The place inside is a cozy pub style restaurant. Outside seating is definitely the way to go. Nice view of their lake on the premises. Live music was great on a warm spring day. After your done you can walk around their cute garden or sit on the chairs by the lake. Food: You've never had a real burger until you've had one here. They aren't kidding when they say every ingredient is locally sourced. I felt like my beef was definitely a happy cow during it's life. Meat was perfect and don't even get me started about their chimichurri aioli. The crab cake sandwich was also A+. Hummus and bruschetta platter was very fresh. Drinks: Get their signature drink, The Island of Thought. It's 100% worth it. If driving wasn't an issue we probably would have stayed the entire night drinking them. Service: Servers were quick and friendly. It looked like every table was taken care of and happy. Staff earned their tip here for sure. Tl;dr: if you like juicy, fresh burgers coupled with beautiful, outside seating and delicious drinks, come here. read more

Went on a Friday night with a 6:00 PM reservation for a party of 5. Hostess didn't seem to realize we had a reservation but was able to seat us. At 6:25 we were approached by a staff member with 2 appetizers that were not ours. I told him they couldn't be ours because we haven't been approached by any of the wait staff yet. He stated he would get us someone to take our order. For the next 5 minutes we continued to be ignored by the wait staff. At 6:30 my wife went to the hostess and informed her that we still have not been approached by any wait staff. She asked where we were seated and told my wife she would get some one out. The wait staff continued to walk by us with out stopping to acknowledge us. Finally at 6:35 we got up and left without having any interaction with the wait staff. No water, drink orders taken or any interaction at all in 35 minutes. Extremely disappointed experience. read more

First time there tonight and everything was delicious, the lobster bisque was as good as some I've had in Maine, the ribeye steak was local Fauquier county meat and was cooked to perfection, spaghetti bolognese was also excellent. The staff was friendly and all the food came in a timely manner, I found the restaurant overall was very clean including restrooms. We will make this restaurant a frequent destination , couldn't of been any better. read more

Harry's does not have karaoke. Apparently, it tried it, once upon a time, and had a bad experience with it, and they are unwilling to give it another try with a different karaoke jockey. So, if you are looking for karaoke, this is not the place to go. read more

The staff was great but the food was just meh. They definitely can use a broader menu selection and maybe a new cook! The chicken sandwich barely had any chicken on it and was $17. There was no flavor to it. Chick-fil-A has better chicken sandwiches. Also, my meal was supposed to be hot but was cold upon arrival. It's very loud in there when there are a lot of people. I may try it again when the weather is nicer and can eat outside. read more

My new husband and I were staying at Airlie House and our package included a 3 course dinner one night of our stay. When we got to the restaurant it was pretty quiet because it's right before the properties busy seasons. We got to choose where we sat and then we threw the waitress ( and the kitchen) our curveball. She took it all in stride and she was amazing. We both got to enjoy a small bottle of Prosecco with hors d'oeuvre. It was an amazing start! For the real start we each got the tomato basil soup. For the entree i got New York strip steak while my husband got the pork chop. Finally for desert I got the cheesecake and my husband got the apple crisp. Everything was timed perfect. Nothing overlapped and we didn't have to wait a long time in between for the next item. Everything tasted fresh and made from scratch. It's amazing because all the ingredients are grown on the property and they even raise beef cattle. Needless so say we were completely stuffed. We are definitely going to be go back to eat even if we're not staying at Airlie House! I love that it is a restaurant is open to the public. read more

I'd rate them more of a 4.5 just for price. In comparison my favorite comparable restaurants in this area are Claires and any of the Great American Restaurant chain (Sweetwater tavern). Service was great, I had a burger with pork belly and it was above average in size and taste. Drinks were a little steep but the outdoor area and the view are worth the extra cost. A few dollars in advertising would have this place busy. The interior was super clean and well appointed. read more

Harry's - beautiful patio, food was good too - New American Near Me - Warrenton, Virginia

Food is on point and reasonably priced. Cannot beat the ambiance inside and the water view on the patio.

My fiancé brought me here for my birthday this week. If I could rate food vs service then I'd give the food a 5 but the service was pretty awful. We had a 630 reservation, we were sat immediately, the hostess gave us water and then it went down hill from there. We sat there for nearly 30 mins before anyone acknowledged us, multiple staff walked by like we weren't even there( one of the staff that ignored us was the manager.) Finally a server came over to take a our drink order, another 15 mins go by and finally our drinks come after the server had already come back once telling me they couldn't make the drink I ordered because they didn't have any oranges. At this point I've looked over the menu 1000 times and had it memorized, the server finally asks if we're ready to order. Instead of the server telling us the specials we have to ask about the specials, nothing sparked our interested. We proceeded to order the shrimp stack as an appetizer, my fiancé had the red snapper, and I had the veal chop. All of the food was amazing! The service is what lowers my rating so much! If you want great food go for it, but pack your patience! read more

Food was good. Service was horrible. View was awesome. We had a reservation with a request to be seated near the water. That didn't happen. The hostess was clearly flustered. Her frustration remained evident the entire visit. To be fair, they were extremely short-handed that afternoon. It was a gorgeous day. We had great photo ops and saw a wedding there too. The food took forever to come and we did enjoy it when it finally came. Considering the popularity of wineries in this area I hope the service improves at Harry's. read more

The food here is below average and very expensive for what you get. I had a variation on the reuben. It was fine, but for the $16 price, I'd expect fresh-homemade fries/bread and a nicely presented plate. Instead I got cold fries that were clearly pulled from the freezer and bread bought from the grocery. The busboy did bring me some new fries that were freshly cooked after I asked. My friend got a chicken entree. Again, frozen chicken and poorly made mac and cheese for over $20 for an entree? Chicken is super easy to bread and fry -- why use frozen? There is nothing easier to make from scratch than a nice mac and cheese. But this one was dry and lacked flavor. The smoked brocolini was the only interesting component on the plate, but the smoking agent used tasted "off" -- almost like someone uses lighter fluid to stoke the flames or that the grill was not cleaned properly. The chef is clearly lazy. He/she should go to The Griffin Tavern in Flint Hill to see what pub food should be. Personally, I'd do a consult with them and revamp the menu. And, no, I don't work at The Griffin. I don't mind paying high prices for fresh, local, beautiful food. This was such a disappointment, especially when it could be an amazing place. The venue is also strangely loud because of the lack if baffling and stone floors. The live musician was a nice touch and had a lovely voice, but only added how loud the place is. On the one positive side, the grounds are beautiful. read more

I don't know how Harry's received any 5 Star ratings. Harry's does have some nice features but it has nothing to do with their wings or their Caesar Salad nor the proximity to the parking lot. Firstly I parked out front of the main Airlie bldg because the preferred parking lot was 200 yards away and there was a space available. Harry's is all the way in the basement (4 flights of stairs) and in the back of the building. I ordered wings and requested a mix of barbecue and their Carolina Reaper sauce. I was asked if I wanted ranch or blue cheese. I said neither. I then requested a Caesar Salad. I was asked if I wanted to add chicken and I replied "no". The female bartender with reddish purple hair was annoyed I only ordered soda water and asked me twice if that was all I wanted to drink. My salad arrived and it was literally half a head of romaine lettuce in top of chopped lettuce doused in what tasted like waters down sour cream. The head of lettuce appeared to have dropped dirty fry grease running up the middle of the head. It had no flavor. Not sure what it was. I also received chicken with it. I didn't want chicken. The wings arrived cold and the flavor was so sour I could only eat three of the eight. And I was also given ranch. Again I didn't order ranch. For this I was charged $35.00. As for service the bar tender did not ask how the food was nor did she make eye contact or speak to me and did not thank me for coming in. The place was dead by the way. The manager from Reston was sweet and very friendly but she did not stay long. I can not say all of the food is bad but the wings and salad were the worst I have ever tasted in my 50 years. Not going back for too many reasons. read more

Ok so this place is really fantastic atmosphere wise. I've heard a lot of hub bub about the burger here so we wanted to try it. I had read that it takes a long time to get your food so I was prepared for that. (The kitchen is off site and the food is driven down from another building) It took close to 45 minutes...no biggie. I asked for extra pickles, the waitress was new and wasn't sure if they had pickles. Again, no biggie. The burgers came and looked massive. But I could tell immediately that the bun/burger ratio was off. The burger was really thick and the bun was way bigger than the burger patty. The brioche bun while impressive with the Harry's logo stamped on it. Sadly it was dry as was the burger. It was bland and just kinda meh. I also only received one pickle. At that point I didn't want to be a brat over a few extra pickles, nor did I want to wait the 20 min it would take to get them driven down from the kitchen. For the money this was a pretty mediocre burger. The fries were great. But again at $16....go to Five Guys. I make better burgers at home with Walmart meat. read more

I don't understand how a bar filled to only a quarter of its capacity takes an hour to bring a hamburger and a half hour to bring beer when the bar is just a few steps away. I don't think the main kitchen is there. The food was good, but the plentiful waitresses spent more time standing around or looking at their ordering computers than coming to our tables. The setting was beautiful also. I am so disappointed that we celebrated my friend's birthday at a place that holds so much promise and did not deliver. We were so annoyed that I feel it ruined her birthday, and her daughters are Airlie employees! I don't think there is a manager in charge. This investment is truly in danger. They are going to have trouble retaining staff if they will not be tipped due to food and drink timeliness. I won't be coming back. read more

We finally made it over to Harry's Pub. We have seen social media posts about the outdoor seating area, craft beer, and entertainment. The drive to the pub is beautiful. A little confusing on how to get to the actual pub once on the property, but we made it (keep follow road to back of property and park in guest parking). The walk to the pub was enchanting. The stonework and oak trees are captivating, a step back in time. Unfortunately the pub fell short in many areas. The food selection was pricey. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for good food but with a family of four and no kids menu your bill without alcohol will be over $100 easy. We ultimately decided to have a beer and a appetizer outside. Unfortunately, the spinach dip was over cooked and even burnt. Overall, excellent atmosphere, room for kids to run, service mediocre due to delay in obtaining our order and bussing surrounding tables, and unfortunately high food prices when quality of food just did not deliver. Harry's pub could be the hidden gem restaurant of Fauquier; however, does not meet the mark in all of the areas that a restaurant must. read more

Harrys just reopened and we were excited to go back, however the quality of the food is not the same or even close to what is used to be. Calamari very salty. Crab cake seemed like a frozen mush cake, unlike the years ago that was fresh made. Bergers were undercooked, and all came out luke warm at best. The level of food was amazing farm to table years ago with some specialty chef items. Today there is nothing like that, not even sweet potato fries. And everything is served on paper plates with plastic forks and knives. Very disappointing for such a beautiful place and what it used to be. read more

We sat outside on the patio which they didn't have last year but we absolutely love it!! Once seated, Corey came over and asked us if we would like a bottle of wine and told us it was on the house. They brought us the pan seared scallop appetizer which was amazing! I ordered the red snapper and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Oscar. Both of our meals were amazing! Things that were great: ambiance, food, drinks. Things that were pretty awful: service, service, service. Our waitress was as sweet as she could be, but it took 15 minutes for someone to come by, another 20 minutes for us to get water, an additional 10 minutes for our drinks. One drink was "forgotten" and none of us could remember the cute name of it, so the manager brought us another drink menu. Dropped it off at the table and walked off without waiting for us to look it over and tell him what drink had been ordered. The food was very good. The only complaint was the beet salad only had 3 small pieces of beet. We loved the location so much we will give it another try and hope for an improvement in the service. read more

My wife and I stopped by Sunday night around 7 pm . Harry's is open till 11:30 pm on sundays which is amazing considering nowhere in Warrenton or Culpeper is open that late. Awesome rustic pub that is immaculately clean. We ordered queso and chips for an appetizer. The queso was executed perfectly, creamy with fresh pico de gallo and delicious chorizo mixed in. After finishing almost all the queso we ran out of chips. Our waitress was on point and asked us soon after if we wanted more chips; awesome customer service ! We were both in the mood for good burgers so we decided to order the angus burger that was made from beef raised on site! We ordered them cooked medium and medium-rare. The burgers came out in almost perfect timing after we finished our queso. They were cooked perfect. The beef was very juicy and had wonderful flavor. All the toppings were fresh and complimented the burger perfect. The fries included were seasoned and tasted like fresh cut potatoes. My wife's drink was made strong and was delicious. We tried Harry's desert flight, omg if you are a desert person it is a must! The cobbler was to die for!
