After a very long 6-hour drive to Destin, Florida. We decided to check into our room and the Emerald Grand and grab a bite to eat. Hungry!!! YES we were. After going around in circles to figure out the parking of the resort: for another 20 mins. My patience was going very thin. We immediately went downstairs and check a few restaurants and decided to eat at Harry T's. The best choice we made. The food was not only "extremely delicious" 5 star for presentation. As you can see in the photo. Shrimp and grits to die for!!! I am extremely hard to satisfy when it comes to food. The portions are huge. The Ambiance is a fun, chill by the water, have a drink VIBE. Reasonable prices for all. The Cheesecake: OMG huge! The stakes around make for great photo spots. Definitely something to not pass up if your down in Destin on the Harbor Walk. We brought family here because it's so good. It's normally the place we recommend at the harbor walk. This past visit our server seemed annoyed. We had 6 people with us. 4 seniors. Server wouldn't allow them to order off the kids menu. Husband and I ordered entrees , the 4 seniors split 2 burgers so we'd have room for dessert. We come here often we know it's expensive but it's worth it. For 4 people to order off the kids menu would have been more money than 2 $20 burgers. It wasn't about the price , it was about having enough room for the dessert. They were only in town for 48 hours and we wanted to take them to all our favorite spots. Server didn't come back after food was delivered so we asked another for ranch mustard and refills . Server must have been getting off soon because she brought the bill before we were even finished with entrees. When we asked what the seasonal desserts were this month, We were catching an annoyed vibe so we ended up going to the doughnut shop for dessert. Great atmosphere, wonderful food, service was a little slow for how empty the restaurant was... The food was fresh, hot, and made to order! I got the burger and the bacon jam that came with it was great! They cooked it to my liking! The fries needed a little salt but I can understand not wanting to over salt anything. My friends enjoyed their fish entrees too! Everything was seasoned nicely. When we arrived we were seated immediately. They played pop hits and kept the music at a decent level where guests could still talk to each other and not yell. The hostess said our server would be right with us. She didn't come for 15 minutes. We were about to leave when she arrived and asked us what we wanted to drink. We told her our drink orders and asked if we could place our dinner orders since we knew what we wanted. She said she would have to come back... 15 minutes later she comes back and gets our dinner orders. The food had a quick turn around time and it was a different server handing us our food. Our original waitress never returned to ask us how everything was or if we needed anything. When she did come back she told us she was backed up and behind. Apologized for making us wait and asked if we needed anything, we told her we wanted the checks. She never returned. 15 minutes later, another server came over with our checks we quickly gave her our credit cards and she got back to us in a timely manner. When we walked out of the restaurant we noticed it was a little empty and there were 3/4 other servers standing around doing nothing. Restaurant is in a very touristy area. We went there to take a dolphin cruise and decided to eat here. No real complaints, but the seafood was not as good as we had as some of the other restaurants in Destin. Service was good and the view out on the deck was great. The staff was well trained to make sure we knew it was all about the money for them explaining from the first second we arrived that we would need to spend a certain amount per person which I've never experienced before. They auto add a "service fee" being very careful not to call it a tip or gratuity in the amount of 22% which is obviously toward the upper end of most tipping ranges. Of course they had a line for "additional" tip. That said, our waitress was sweet and quick so we opted to leave a big tip. Food was better than expected. They have some daaaaamn good grits in my opinion. Parking is an out and out nightmare. The parking garage on site has to be the most poorly laid out ever. read more

If you haven't tried it you absolutely should as there are many great restaurants but I'm looking forward to this one particularly because they stock my drink. That makes my wife chuckle. Funny, we all had several mimosas and never needed a refill on the OJ. The mimosas were the biggest hit, but the shrimp tacos (grilled) were delicious too. Harry T was the last destination we went to on our 3 days trip in Destin. We wanted to try this place out the first night we were here but it was so packed that we had to leave. After our dolphin sunset cruise ended we came and the host told us it was a 20mins wait; we ended up waited way longer but it was ok because the food was so so good. Morgan was our server and she was amazing! She was attentive and super fun and cute. My sister and I ordered a soup, crab salad sandwich, gumbo, fried shimp and a stuff shrimp that was served with Brussel sprouts. Everything was to die for and it was just right. It was a little too much food for us but we ended our night kind of early, so by 10pm; we finished everything. The night was very chill and drinks at Harry T is so strong that I enjoyed the view even though it was pitch black. I will come back and ask for Morgan next time we visit Destin. After reading the other reviews I have to agree Harry T's is the best restaurant on The Destin Boardwalk, the shrimp was lightly breaded and wonderful crunchy seasoned steak fries (different than any other) and the crab cakes on the fried green tomatoes yum! The Mahi Mahi was grilled and seasoned just right which was also delicious. I Also have to agree the service is slow the waiter hardly ever came by and didn't offer a 2nd drink or dessert... which we didn't want anyway (However they have a Glass display case of 2 beautiful looking pies) Unfortunately now The Boardwalk charges $20 to park no matter how long you are there so nothing is really worth paying that just to go especially since our prior trips even last summer parking was free! read more

The more shots she took , the worse the service . We ordered pretzels -twice- Red argued with us that we never ordered them . We ordered them again after she never put the order in . I get it - the general public can be difficult to deal with but Red was not nice and we felt like we were bothering her . Update - we went back a few days later . Morgan was our waitress. The combination was wonderful. My spouse had a burger and it was just ok. He said the bun was truly good and the best part. But, we are from the midwest, where we get delicious beef. Being in FL, our standards are not as high for that. Anywho, I chose the fried tacos and they were really good. I was full from the crab cakes, and ate what I could. They were served with tortilla chips and salsa, which was a perfect side. We ordered a kids meal for our child and it said it came with a surprise. Every year we eat Sunday brunch here. It is the best and not to be missed. The view alone is worth it. Endless mimosas are a delight! Vicki was our server and she was fantastic. I always get the Crab Cakes Hollandaise. It's just that good. The Bushwhacker French Toast was enjoyed by my daughter and she said it was good, just very rich. The men in the group both got a traditional breakfast-Sunrise Breakfast. They all said the rosemary potatoes were amazing. Beautiful view, we even saw dolphins. Webb the bartender suggested the Southern Eggrolls and Seafood nachos. They were AH-FREAKING-MAZING!!! We started dinner off with the Destin Dips appetizer for $22 was a great start! Smoked tuna, artichoke - spinach, crab n shrimp and salsa dips ensure that there is a dip for anyone at the table. For dinner I had the blacked Mahi-mahi sandwich. Great flavor with a little spice. Perfect for a light and healthy (if you skip the fries) dinner.
