Harry T's is a longstanding staple in the Destin area. It sits in the Destin Harbor boardwalk, so it is a relatively touristy area. The food is decent, and the staff has always been very kind. I've never been there with a crazy crowd so it has been never had an outrageous wait for seating or food. It has a nice view of the harbor, and you can see boats coming in and out. You can also see Destin bridge and Crab Island in the distance. The food is overpriced for the quality, but this is a feature of being in the boardwalk. If you are already in the area it isn't a bad choice, but I would not go out of my way and put up with the hassle of the location just to eat here. read more

We stopped in at Harry T's on our first night in Destin we were pretty exhausted just wanting to get some yummy food and it satisfied our needs. We ordered the ribeye and had it with garlic mashers and coconut rice. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned and probably one of the best ribeyes I have ever had however the sides were a bit disappointing. The garlic mashers felt a bit bland and the coconut rice had too many coconut chunks in it but overall it was a good meal and the amazing steak made it worth it. Our waiter was not personable, didn't really care for what we were saying. Never came around. My husband loved the gumbo but it was a little spicy. For me the gumbo was ok. The fries were amazing. We also had sweet tea, we thought being at a place like this it'd be good but it tasted like regular old iced tea. I told our waiter I had a gluten allergy and asked if the gumbo had gluten. She said no. I didn't have the cornbread because of it. I thought I was fine. But my daughter has been puking all night because of it. We've been coming to Destin for the last 5 years. Every year, Harry T's had been the highlight of the trip. This year we were so disappointed. We ordered- and all of the food came a few minutes later. The salads, the appetizers, and our dinner. We told the waitress and she rolled her eyes? I also ordered the same appetizer I have for years, the tuna. It was so dry with zero sauce or flavoring. The fish was super bland and the grits were so cold, as if it had been chilled. She brought the kids club soda (twice) instead of tea and Dr Pepper, to where we pretty much just paid and left-although we would have ordered more. To us, it's more than the restaurant. It's the memories we have of our kids as they've grown, watching the fireworks and the face painting traditions. Hopefully they can get back on track read more

First off, the parking lot associated with Harry T's charges $20 just to park there and second, called Harry T's to verify this location had a t-shirt selection along with the restaurant and received a generic voicemail and no one ever picked up on the phone. While the parking lot fee may not be their responsibility, the lack of phone service is! There are too many qualified restaurants that treat customers better in the Destin area to bother with Harry T's ever again. read more

Great atmosphere, wonderful food, service was a little slow for how empty the restaurant was... The food was fresh, hot, and made to order! I got the burger and the bacon jam that came with it was great! They cooked it to my liking! The fries needed a little salt but I can understand not wanting to over salt anything. My friends enjoyed their fish entrees too! Everything was seasoned nicely. When we arrived we were seated immediately. They played pop hits and kept the music at a decent level where guests could still talk to each other and not yell. The hostess said our server would be right with us. She didn't come for 15 minutes. We were about to leave when she arrived and asked us what we wanted to drink. We told her our drink orders and asked if we could place our dinner orders since we knew what we wanted. She said she would have to come back... 15 minutes later she comes back and gets our dinner orders. The food had a quick turn around time and it was a different server handing us our food. Our original waitress never returned to ask us how everything was or if we needed anything. When she did come back she told us she was backed up and behind. Apologized for making us wait and asked if we needed anything, we told her we wanted the checks. She never returned. 15 minutes later, another server came over with our checks we quickly gave her our credit cards and she got back to us in a timely manner. When we walked out of the restaurant we noticed it was a little empty and there were 3/4 other servers standing around doing nothing. So it's either non of them wanted to help our server or our server was just slow. Overall, go for the food and try to get it to go because the service might be slow. read more

We brought family here because it's so good. It's normally the place we recommend at the harbor walk. This past visit our server seemed annoyed. We had 6 people with us. 4 seniors. Server wouldn't allow them to order off the kids menu. Husband and I ordered entrees , the 4 seniors split 2 burgers so we'd have room for dessert. We come here often we know it's expensive but it's worth it. For 4 people to order off the kids menu would have been more money than 2 $20 burgers. It wasn't about the price , it was about having enough room for the dessert. They were only in town for 48 hours and we wanted to take them to all our favorite spots. Server didn't come back after food was delivered so we asked another for ranch mustard and refills . Server must have been getting off soon because she brought the bill before we were even finished with entrees. When we asked what the seasonal desserts were this month, We were catching an annoyed vibe so we ended up going to the doughnut shop for dessert. The staff was well trained to make sure we knew it was all about the money for them explaining from the first second we arrived that we would need to spend a certain amount per person which I've never experienced before. They auto add a "service fee" being very careful not to call it a tip or gratuity in the amount of 22% which is obviously toward the upper end of most tipping ranges. Of course they had a line for "additional" tip. That said, our waitress was sweet and quick so we opted to leave a big tip. Food was better than expected. They have some daaaaamn good grits in my opinion. Parking is an out and out nightmare. The parking garage on site has to be the most poorly laid out ever. read more

So a while exploring the area and Dustin Florida on the walkway. I came across Harry T. I had a cup of chowder and Mount Gay Rum and Coke. The staff was awesome. I now understand what's going on here on New Year's Eve. They were suggesting coming in later and then we sit and watch the fireworks. Confidences high based upon everything I've seen so we're going I'm going back for a second trip am I first trip for Peggy. This place is too easy to get to from the water. If you haven't tried it you absolutely should as there are many great restaurants but I'm looking forward to this one particularly because they stock my drink. That makes my wife chuckle. Happy new year it's just around the corner. Part two. Three reviews and one. I was back here without my girlfriend if you can believe it. Hung out at the bar. She told me to go she was going to take a nap. So Harry seemed like a good place to go. Again. So I had the filet mignon it was great with mashed potatoes and asparagus. And because I'm not an idiot and it was so good I took it home and gave it to my girlfriend. Not a big beefeater but she loved it. So here we are on New Year's Eve back at Harry tees again What does that tell you about this place? I don't go back unless I really like this someplace these guys are hitting on all cylinders. Bottomless mimosas?! Yes, please! Even better, a glass of champagne and a small cup of OJ to make your mimosas exactly to your liking. Funny, we all had several mimosas and never needed a refill on the OJ. The mimosas were the biggest hit, but the shrimp tacos (grilled) were delicious too. We had a table on the patio on a rare cold day, but were toasty warm (even before the mimosas). Expect high tourist prices, but paired with a decent meal. read more

Harry T was the last destination we went to on our 3 days trip in Destin. We wanted to try this place out the first night we were here but it was so packed that we had to leave. After our dolphin sunset cruise ended we came and the host told us it was a 20mins wait; we ended up waited way longer but it was ok because the food was so so good. Morgan was our server and she was amazing! She was attentive and super fun and cute. My sister and I ordered a soup, crab salad sandwich, gumbo, fried shimp and a stuff shrimp that was served with Brussel sprouts. Everything was to die for and it was just right. It was a little too much food for us but we ended our night kind of early, so by 10pm; we finished everything. The night was very chill and drinks at Harry T is so strong that I enjoyed the view even though it was pitch black. I will come back and ask for Morgan next time we visit Destin. After reading the other reviews I have to agree Harry T's is the best restaurant on The Destin Boardwalk, the shrimp was lightly breaded and wonderful crunchy seasoned steak fries (different than any other) and the crab cakes on the fried green tomatoes yum! The Mahi Mahi was grilled and seasoned just right which was also delicious. I Also have to agree the service is slow the waiter hardly ever came by and didn't offer a 2nd drink or dessert... which we didn't want anyway (However they have a Glass display case of 2 beautiful looking pies) Unfortunately now The Boardwalk charges $20 to park no matter how long you are there so nothing is really worth paying that just to go especially since our prior trips even last summer parking was free! read more

The combination was wonderful. My spouse had a burger and it was just ok. He said the bun was truly good and the best part. But, we are from the midwest, where we get delicious beef. Being in FL, our standards are not as high for that. Anywho, I chose the fried tacos and they were really good. I was full from the crab cakes, and ate what I could. They were served with tortilla chips and salsa, which was a perfect side. We ordered a kids meal for our child and it said it came with a surprise. Every year we eat Sunday brunch here. It is the best and not to be missed. The view alone is worth it. Endless mimosas are a delight! Vicki was our server and she was fantastic. I always get the Crab Cakes Hollandaise. It's just that good. The Bushwhacker French Toast was enjoyed by my daughter and she said it was good, just very rich. The men in the group both got a traditional breakfast-Sunrise Breakfast. They all said the rosemary potatoes were amazing. We will be back Thursday night to watch the fireworks set off weekly and participate in karaoke. Sundays and Thursdays are the best at Harry T's. read more
