Had an outstanding dinner here recently. Sat in the bar at a table and ordered 10 wings with the Tuesday wing special. The wings were perfectly cooked and on the larger size. While traveling back to Georgia & visiting a friend in Tipp City, he decided to take me to Harrison's, one of his favorite dining establishments. The location is right downtown in the main business district. After being greeted by the friendly Hostess, we were promptly seated. Upon a recommendation by our lovely server, Aimee McIntosh, we both chose the Walleye. For appetizer's we had French Onion & Chicken Noodle Soup. Our sides were a loaded Baked Potato & Sweet Potato Soufle. From dessert we both had the Creme Brulee. All I can say is, everything was absolutely delicious & prepared perfectly. I had to beg my husband to go here because he said they were overpriced. I told him since Monday is $5 sangra day and happy hour appetizers are only $7 we should go. I had 2 very delicious sangrias and my husband had an old fashioned which was $10. Their only soup was chili. Not my favorite. The quest fries were yummy. The women's restroom was out if order so i used the men's. After sitting with empty water glasses for a while my husband requested a refill and the server refilled only his glass even though mine was almost empty. Took forever to get the check and to go box. Overall, I can't believe I begged to come here..... truly horrible service. read more

We tried Harrisons for the first time on their seafood night. We were pretty disappointed. First, there were only 3 of us. We were seated with menus-so far, so good but the bench seat all along the wall has a very uncomfortable seam & the tables are situated so someone is seated on the seam. We had to shift our table down a person. Then our waitress came by to take our drink order. She had to go back to get us a cocktail menu, when she came back to take our cocktail order, we asked about beer-she had to go get a beer menu . Our waitress did not check on us at all except when she brought food or drinks that we ordered. -we flagged her down once for a condiment. We ordered a blueberry lemon martini which didnt have a hint of blueberry & tasted like Listerine. My steak was amazing. Cooked to perfection. The bourbon salmon wasnt 'done' in the middle & was actually taken off our bill (which was appreciated) but was way too sweet to begin with. The flavor of crab cakes was really great. Tasted wonderful, but the texture was unappetizing. Seemed like they were precooked & warmed up in the microwave. Stopped in for a few apps and beers with the family. Been a long time since I've been here and not much has changed. Still a very cozy atmosphere at the bar with the fire place but the service was incredibly slow. Finally got someone to take our beer orders and one of four was very wrong. Once corrected, food was on its way and I'd say the bleu chips are pretty great. Wings with the rowdy sauce are super solid and the Reuben eggrolls were too greasy and not worth it. Okay, stop the presses. Why have I not tried the cocktail sauce here before? My all-time favorite is St. Elmo's (Indy), and you can get lucky and find it at Aldi sometimes. Treasure Island Supper Club and Barnsider were #2 and #3. But Harrisons has overtaken St Elmo's, and wow, what a spice level! Foot pounding, leg shaking, deep inhales, and brain freezes. Okay okay you're wondering how the place only received 4 Stars. When you order an old-fashioned you expect a Luxardo cherry. Don't put a maraschino cherry in it and if you do, make another drink instead of adding a Luxardo cherry with the remnants and stains of the inferior cherry swilling in the glass. Do not charge $1.00 for the Luxardo cherry when you charge north of $10.00 for 1 drink. Very disappointing. Bourbon salmon was good and so were the collard greens and baked sweet potato souffle but the steak was ordered medium rare but unfortunately came medium. Came on a Monday at 2 PM....not a lot was open, thankfully Harrisons was! We sat in the bar area. It was rather quiet, but there are TVs with Sports Crnter if that's your thing. Bartender was the waitstaff, and was delightful! We both ordered the cowboy burger, one as is but exchanged the pretzel roll for a brioche roll.other as is but with barbeque on side. We both really enjoyed them (although I think the pretzel roll was a must have). Husband also got the brownie a la mode which we ended up sharing ( So good!) Overall, a wonderful experience!! Went on a Friday night, got the prime rib, wife got a burger and we shared two appetizers. The appetizers were good, though the cheese and toppings on the chips could have been a little more spread out but the Reuben egg rolls were great. One of the two gems in Tipp City! We've been here before, however it's been a while and I've never taken the time to leave a review. Harrison's is a nice restaurant--that seems to always be busy. The food is good and the service is provided by very friendly, helpful staff but again they are usually very busy. It doesn't really seem to matter where you're seated; whether it be in the bar area or dining areas--it's loud in Harrison's, again, because they are busy! Despite all that, the food comes out timely and hot. Our favorite this visit was the bleu chips. The mac and cheese is creamy and delicious but actually a bit much. I tried a bite of hubbys Cowboy burger and the onion straws are a perfect touch. The homemade chips (which are included in the bleu chips) are so yummy! read more

Three dollar drafts during happy hour? And $1 Buds? Pub heaven! Across the street from The Hotel Gallery, another nice landmark to peruse beautiful pottery and arts and crafts. I came to Tipp earlier in the year to win my age group (4th overall) at the annual run for the Mums 5k and won an awesome coffee mug made by local potter Sally Watson. We were so impressed with our coffee mug that we just had to come back and check her out personally. Ask if you can grab a beer and take it across the street. It'll be worth your while. I digress.... Harrison's is knows to the local hot spot. Serving up Red Devil shrimp after the Tippecanoe mascot, as well as a host of other seasonal bites. The draft selection was very good. Seemed to have something for everyone with a session sour made of blood oranges (not my fav), they had a coffee stout, and an IPA and some other seasonal selections. Our host let us sample from the beer but also from the local distiller, Buckeye Distiller which makes a very smoothie vodka and other liqueurs. We tried the vodka which was very good. I'd suggest steering clear of the coffee stout which will keep you up at night. The fire place in the winter time is nice. This place is nice and somewhat rustic and I can see why it would be a nice draw after a long day. Next time I'm in town we will be back. read more

It was 'Shop Local Saturday' (which, in my opinion should be the mantra for every Saturday) ... twice, we caught the unmistakable, intoxicating aroma of burgers and fries. Once walking by the restaurant on our way to a second block of shops and the second time leaving a store across the street. Lunch was decided. The menu at Harrison's purpose was to decide between the 3 beef hamburger options and upgrade the side from potato chips to french fries. I briefly glanced at the rest of the menu but I could not focus on anything but the burgers. I was set on a burger and when the divine plates arrived with the huge sandwiches I knew our decision was right. This is a half pound burger... as in a huge patty of nearly 3 servings of meat. Delivered appropriately with a steak knife, I redeemed my wimp card and sliced the burger in half and then into quarters. Mock all you want - but It was a good judgement call. It was an even better burger. The french fry game here is solid. Lightly battered and well-fried to the perfect level of crispness, served piping hot from the fryer. I highly recommend upgrading the side dish to the french fries. Burgers are offered on either a Kaiser or pretzel bun, although it just occurred to me, 8 hours later, I received the wrong bun and I don't even care. It's that great a burger. The decor is remarkably charming. This historic building has been updated without conflicting with its own history; the fireplace in the bar area was the perfect touch for a cozy Saturday afternoon and a late lunch. read more

It saddens me to write this review for such a nice family-owned business but I doubt that there was any family or competent management here this day, and someone needs a heads up. Sunday afternoon 7/20/25, was one of, if not the worst meals and service's I have ever had. Why my waitress felt she had to have every table in the dining area when it looked like there were two other waitstaff milling around not doing much is beyond me, it really hurt the service. After she dropped off my luke warm meal which obviously had been sitting in the kitchen for a while I didn't see her again until I begged one of the other wait staff for a refill on my large glass of tea. My waitress returned with my tea at which time i finally got to tell her how bad the clam strips were, not hot, very greasy but most of all was like trying to chew a rubber band. Needing to spit it out the only paper i could find was what the rolls were wrapped in. I strongly suggest you 86 this off the menu immediately. When I asked her to have my fettuccini reheated, I got a sour look and when she was about 5 feet away I saw her shake her head and heard her make what I believe was a rude comment. The fettuccini SUCKED! Never had anything like it, and am still unsure why or how the pasta was greasy and borderline slimy. I told myself maybe they used to much oil in the sauce or pasta instead of butter? Luckily there was salt and pepper on the table as this dish had no flavoring. I suspect the diced-up chicken was precooked and came out of a bag. The meal, which is sad to say, came back unpleasantly to haunt me later in the evening, if you catch my drift like the rest of the room did. A cook who takes pride in their job makes sure the food is delivered while its hot and you should have anyone that's available deliver the food no mater whose table it is. Again, looked like there was plenty of help not doing much in the dining room. The customer is / was not a priority here when there is no follow up. I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted a hint of garlic in my ranch dressing for the first time in my life. I think Ill try that at home. My wife did enjoy her Mediterranean salad that was a carry out. In hindsight Im sorry I tried to eat my meal and only got through half of it at best. I left a 20% tip just felt sorry for you I guess. Despite being busy and crowded on Friday and Saturday night... but mitigated if you take advantage of call ahead seating (although we still had a thirty minute wait). But service once seated was terrific. Thanks Chelsea. Love the huge wedge salad with heaps of blue cheese and bacon. Clam chowder is thick and chock full of clams. The pork chops are my go to dish... a lot less expensive than steak these days, and when seasoned and cooked perfectly, as done here, weee juicy and flavorful. I ordered the double, for a few dollars more and immediately boxed the second for lunch. If I hadn't boxed it on receipt, Iim sure I would have eaten it all! Didn't order this time, but their sweet potato casserole is awesome. Always a good bet! Harrison's in Tipp City is as good an American restaurant as you can get in the area imo. We live within walking distance but it doesn't bias me. We had a tough week so we wound up there on a random Tuesday and my husband had the BBQ pork chop special. They were great, tender and juicy with just the right amount of barbecue flavor (two small chops for under $14!) I had my favorite Black and Blue Salmon salad and it is always perfect. We noted they had a weekly cabbage roll special on Thursday so we made a note to return and we did. Again, two large tasty cabbage rolls on a bed of mashed potatoes and a basket of their delicious warm rolls. Again, under $14. While we were enjoying our Thursday dinner our children texted to suggest we meet for dinner at Harrison's Friday so we made a reservation before leaving. Five adults and our 9-month old grandson had a great time, delicious food (from steak, sandwiches, salads and their famous Barnsider Chicken). Service is always spectacular, drinks are incredible (one reason we walk ) and the food is always hot and flavorful. Not to mention the cozy booths and tables surrounded by great historic photos of Tipp City. Always a good bet if you're in the area and worth the drive if you're further south. read more

Harrison's has fantastic food. We decided to have Valentines dinner a day early to avoid crowds. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. My husband's crab cakes were delicious as well. They provide their beef with a grade above prime! They seriously need to get a Michelin rating! Every time we've eaten there it is fantastic. The service is great. People leaving less than favorable reviews are buying the the bottom end of the menu. Kudos to the chef! We stopped in for lunch on our way to see several waterfalls in the area. It was not good... It was exceptional. Both the Food and service for exceptional. Oh my it was a lot of food though. I got the jumbo clams and it was just like I like the batter was very light the clams were nice large and the cocktail sauce was spicy which I like a lot of horseradish. Not quite as spicy as the Ruth Chris but that's too spicy for me anyway this was perfect. Came with two sides. It was just too much food for me I got the premium sides the Caesar salad and the French onion soup. I ate about half the Caesar salad and ate all the French onion soup. Shared several bites with my husband we both agreed it was some top rate french onion soup the broth was very rich and flavorful not just all watery. It was yum. To be honest I could have probably been okay just having the soup and the complimentary bread. That pretty much curb my Hunger but the whole thing was just so good. He helped Caesar salad and my soup and then he got a panini a Cuban. With the loaded fries. Oh my gosh it was so so good I wish we had more room. The service was so efficient and professional and friendly I believe her name was Ashlee . I think I made a little nervous taking pictures of the food but I sure that we were very pleased. Tipp City is a cute little town has kind of a small-town cute Mayberry vibe. Highly recommend you stopping in here for lunch and going to check out the local waterfalls. We went to Ludlow Falls West Milton Cascades, Charleston Falls and then over to Cedar Falls or Cedarville Falls... Not the one in Hocking Hills it's in Cedarville. Was after a day of lots of rain in the Falls were all easy to get to and just magnificent. Harrison's is the best place to eat in Tipp City. It's right in the middle of the historic downtown. This is a pub but it still seems to be family friendly. A few big TVs are good for watching games. The food is good for a pub. I had the Mediterranean salad. It's pretty large, more like your main meal than something you eat before it. This is about $11, pretty good considering the size of the thing. It comes with two scoops of red pepper hummus. There's a ring of pita chips that are crispy but not too much. It also comes with a side of bread. With this and the pita chips, that's a lot of bread, so that makes it much easier to leave sober. It's one of the closest you can get to fine dining in Tipp City. Maybe it's a little expensive but you get big portions. There's free parking along Main Street. read more

Several years ago my husband and I had several bad experiences with Harrison's (poor food quality, hair in the food, poor service) so we quit going; however, just recently we tried it again and were very pleasantly surprised. Everything my husband and I ate was good - and I especially liked the red devil shrimp. The waitress was friendly and on top of things, too. Our food came out in a timely manner and she kept our drinks full. As far as the ambiance goes, Harrison has always had a comfortable and cozy feel to it. I think the bar area is the prettiest, though. The dining room side of the restaurant is somewhat average, although they have wonderful historical pictures of Tipp City hung all around the room which makes it visually interesting. Their upstairs has party rooms that are very nice for special events. It's definitely a place to keep in mind if you need to host a large crowd. We will definitely try this place for dinner again, and if they keep up the good work, we'll add it back to our 'favorite places to eat' list read more

A locals favorite... and I know why! Happy hour has beers for a dollar. Granted it is your bud light beer but that is ok -3 dollars for a pint of lagunita during happy hour. Those usually range from 7-10 a pint. Most happy hours give you a dollar off good ipa beers. There were a few other interesting beers on tap. We shared a special chicken and waffles. We stopped by here for dinner. Found out that Tues is wing night, the place smelled wonderful. I had the portabela mushroom Swiss burger and I asked that it be cooked medium. It was, and it was big, juicy and delicious. It came with very crispy potato chips, nice touch. I also had a wedge salad. It came with blue cheese, tomato, bacon, cucumber and a large serving of blue cheese dressing. Nice! My wife had the Mac & cheese. She said it had too much onion in it but otherwise it was good. We were in town for an OMEA event at the high school and we were a little short on time. The staff were super accommodating and we were able to get seats at the bar and order food right away. The bartender was fantastic- super friendly and attentive (Jess M.) she deserves some recognition . We opted for just getting a few appetizers to split so that our food would be pretty quick to come out. The appetizers were good. I would like to return and try the salmon and the prime on special looked delicious. Holy moly's!? This establishment feels like it's been here since prohibition but the server stated it had only been here for 17 years but was another eatery before that. I love supporting the little mom and pop shops and this one did not disappoint. The service was a tad slow but it seemed like there were only two people working and would apologize on their way thru letting us know they'd be right with us. I had read the reviews and was convinced I needed to try the one of their house favorites, that being the Turkey Chili. It was indeed, delicious. I even bought an order to take home to the lovely Mrs and she loved it as well. Stating the corn bread was a super delicious addition. My friend that went with me ordered the white fish sandwich. It was massive and he stated it was very good. I got an order of fresh Wisconsin cheese curds and they were yummy as well. The curds come with sides of ranch and shrimp cocktail. Never had cheese curds dipped in cocktail sauce but it was actually quite tasty. Kudos to whomever came up with that. I'd for sure go back here. I can see how every speaks highly of the chili and it's actually reasonably priced. Next time I go I'll order the prime rib or the Mac and cheese and creme brûlée.
