Range of products and quality are great but the store no longer offers hand-held baskets and stocks the largest sizes of items- e.g., brown sugar is only available in a 2 pound bag, white sugar and flour only in 5 pound bags, evaporated milk only in 16-oz cans. I live alone and don't buy lots of things and don't need these quantities. I now shop at Food Lion for non-perishables. read more

Today I went to Harris teeter I needed a few things as always I was looking for bargains I did find quite a few I was looking for Barley I asked a worker name was Joshua what isle would I find it in together we looked he left for a moment than he returned and we could not find it than a customer listing said I think the flour isle so we looked but no luck than when I thought I would leave without it we both seen it there it was with the dry beans I was so happy to find it I wanted to give credit to Joshua for not giving up and helping to find it Harris Teeter needs to know how this young man is a valued employee as well as many it there staff are I love this store always are friendly. making me to keep shopping there store #341. So I've been shopping at this location for about exactly one year now/ since my move from Atlanta. So today I felt so disappointed and disrespected one of the young lady's up at the front. Didn't catch her name but it started with a D , something like Drae. Can't remember. But long story short she decided it was okay to go inside my cart & grab my keys and set them on the counter where I was going to pay. Mind you/ I purposely leave my keys in my cart because I have previously forgotten them while trying to check out. && so when she set my keys down she mumbled "your welcome" but I was on the phone so I didn't respond to her && she proceeded to repeat it again in a rude manner. So then I told her , she had no reason to move my keys & I didn't not need to thank her for something I didn't want her to do & she proceeded to say thing to me & say I should learn how to say thank you , when she should have NOT been touching my stuff to begin with. I spoke to the manager and I hope the issue was resolved. I come here Atleast 3 x a week and even the Starbucks baristas know me. And I drive 21 minutes away just to come to THIS LOCATION. Guess I'll have to go to the one in James town or Greensboro. So disappointed.. read more

Currently, this Harris Teeter may be the best grocery store in High Point, which isn't saying a whole lot since there aren't many great options in town to begin with. It sure is better than Food Lion though, which is kind of sad because I always liked Food Lion growing up. Side note: Our family never shopped at Lowes Foods too often, though that was a popular place for my friends' families. Simply put, Harris Teeter is nicer than Food Lion has a much better inventory of food and produce all-around. Food Lion wins in the low price department. Over the past five years or so, this Harris Teeter has been consistently busy. I'm not sure if the parking lot at "High Point Mall," the shopping center where this grocery store resides, is big enough to handle all the customer traffic at peak times. Other retailers here include T.J.Maxx, Ross, Rack Room Shoes, and HomeGoods. The parking lot almost always seems to be slammed. I've seen cars parked in spaces that aren't meant for parking and I've seen incidents of road rage. Well at least it's a good sign people are coming here. Harris Teeter has a decent produce selection and a neat wine aisle. The layout and design of the store is organized and aesthetically pleasing. The cashiers are usually speedy, polite, and competent. There's a Starbucks just inside the entrance and they offer free AT&T Wi-Fi for shoppers. There are restrooms and they are clean. Aside from the parking and sometimes chaotic environment, this Harris Teeter is a good grocery store for High Point. read more

This has become my favorite local grocery store. I live on the border of High Point and Thomasville and I will happily travel 15 minutes just to shop here. The layout of the store is very very easy to navigate, the weekly sales are pretty good most of the time, the selection is plentiful in my opinion and the staff is more than accommodating and extremely helpful. The staff is probably one of the best I've ever encountered at a grocery store besides Wegmans in Ocean, NJ. Their beer and wine selection is great! Prices are on point and comparable to Walmart. They also carry malted drinks, hard cider and hard root beer. When my friend came to visit from New Jersey he went over to Harris Teeter to get ingredients to make homemade Asian food, hoping that this particular store had everything that he would need. They indeed did and he was very happy! We made a beautiful meal of homemade wonton soup with shrimp eggrolls and we got everything we needed at this particular Harris Teeter (won ton wrappers are found in the produce section). I will most definitely continue to shop your weekly and sometimes biweekly. A big, clean and wonderful store with extremely helpful & polite employees, tasty samples to munch on while you're shopping (after 11am) and a Starbucks to the left of the entrance. This store uses intimidation tactics by announcements over the loud speaker to try and scare people to NOT shoplift. "SECURITY DIAL EXTENSION 11" seems like its just me, but after calling corporate and complaining, I guess, they do it 90 times a day. Guess what? They don't even have security personnel. Instead of trying to intimidate your customers, why don't you just hire a security person and stop making intimidating announcements? read more

At any given visit, I have come home with out of date product from salad dressing to ice cream. Just the other day I had to return mac n cheese from the deli because it was moldy. Harris Teeter used to be the only place I would shop, now I will not even buy toilet paper from there. Too many expired or unedible food gets sold. I no longer shop here. The lines are always long- why are the lines always long???? I do not appreciate having to stand in line for 2 items...it's ridiculous! I drive 20 minutes to shop at this Harris Teeter. I pass many other grocery stores to get here. The management team is great and friendly. The Deli and the Butcher's areas are the best. They have the best meats, and really friendly staff. I can always find what I am looking for at this store. read more

My husband and I refer to this store as hell on earth. Lines are always long, carts are scarce because they don't bring them in often, even leaving overflowing return corrals in the parking lot overnight. The front entrance is barely wide enough for a shopping cart, leading to congestion to get in and out. When I tried to get butcher items at 8am I was rudely told that he had been there since 6am but he could t help me until after 10 am, even for items already out. The food is often not where you expect it to be. The worst part of all is the dangerous parking lot! I routinely drive 25 minutes out of my way to avoid it. It was a poor design and location choice made worse my inattentive management. Just check out the moldy grapes image I shared, there is no accountability. read more

Yes! What a win. I was elated to walk into a classy grocery store. I have yet to find that in North Carolina. Everything was in stock, everything was fresh, employees are helpful, the selection is huge and it was very clean. It's a bit pricier but well worth the quality. Things are almost always out of stock, and lots of foods are being sold passed the "sell by" date. The only nice thing about the store anymore are the friendly cashiers. This Harris Teeter has always been my favorite. It's always well stocked, and the employees friendly. I love that no matter what random recipe I'm following, I can always find every ingredient at my local grocery store. It's convenience and pricing is quite wonderful. Harris Teeter tends to be a little more expensive that other local grocery store options, but they offer so much more. You NEED to sign up for a VIC card, which is their rewards/ coupons program. You can link the card to your phone number and email and track the weekly coupons. In order to be a frugal shopper here, you should check out their well organized weekly ad and utilize the VIC program. Needless to say, I return more than twice a week simply because it's the best grocery option in the area. read more

Friendly staff, good selection of most products. Since the lockdown they have had almost no toilet paper or wipes. The produce is usually good but we have had problems with over ripe stuff - fruit that went bad 3 days after purchase. Been a loyal customer at this store for 20+ years. Shopped on a Friday night (8/3). Approached check out and there was only one checkout lane open with 12-15 people in line. Self check out had 3-4 associates with no one checking out there. Had to go ask manager on duty to open up another checkout lane while he was at Service Desk laughing/completely distracted with what appeared to be an additional 3 -4 additional available associates. This would traditionally have never happened at this store. So sorry to see it deteriorate in its service levels. The new Publix will continue to attract Harris Teeter loyalists. read more

This used to be my go-to grocery store in High Point but no more. The parking lot has always been a nightmare and it is more expensive than other markets. Recently, though, the check out lines are ridiculous-20 minutes or longer just to get to the cashier. Whoa this place is huge! I grew up shopping at Harris Teeters, and it's pretty standard to keep doing things the way mama does them but I switched to Food Lion a few years ago to help cut down on my grocery bill. I was enticed by a specific sales flyer and decided to check out this particular location as I hadn't been to it before and wow! It's massive! A salad bar! Yes please! AND a Starbucks? I did get a little lost as the layout is different than the HT I'm used to (Skeet Club location) but I managed to find everything. A few of my desired items were OOS so after checking out with the super nice and super funny cashier, I headed to Customer Service to get some rain checks. They were really busy (apparently I went in on Senior day and the place was packed with young whipper snappers) but the manager stopped to talk to me about when they get their truck and what days are busiest and we decided when the best time would be for me to maximize the sales when they'd be in stock while minimizing the crowded factor. Several minutes later as I was walking out, I passed the manager again and she called me by name and told me to have a good day and thanks for coming etc. Despite the super crowd and long lines, everyone was very friendly and kind and helpful and I left feeling like they appreciated my business. I may not do my weekly shopping there, but I'll be sure to visit when the sales are just right. I know I'll at least be back for the salad bar and a Venti White Mocha! read more

Do not use the bakery for a specialty cake. I have just picked one up for a 50th birthday party at 1 and did not have a choice to refuse to take it. They apparently do not have a experienced cake decorator and my cake looks like a child decorated it. I paid $38 for a half of a sheet cake. I am asking for my money back. read more
