It's a very easy grocery store to walk through plenty of people to help you find what you're looking for and the prices were pretty good. Determined that this is my week to find good sandwiches for lunch, this was day two of my search. I tried one of the major chains, JJ, yesterday it was what was expected, so I wanted to go off the path. I've never tried Publix subs before, but heard that they were good and it did not disappoint. The combo of chips and a drink gives you a dollar off which came about $10. Not bad. The only reason it did not receive five out of five stars was because I initially made a fountain drink and it was really flat and it was as if the fountain itself had not been kept up in a while. Saving grace was that, you receive the discount with chips and the bottle drink as well. This one remains on the list of go to shops! read more

If you've been to one Publix, you've pretty much been to them all. Their stores appear to be extremely consistent from one to the next, they run a pretty tight ship. I don't do most of my grocery shopping there because generally I find their prices to be somewhat high, but that isn't all Publix is about. Publix has a wide variety of stuff besides groceries, in fact, for many people it is just as useful as a restaurant as anything. I've had their catering, sandwiches, salad bar, and even their sushi. Overall, I'm pleased with my experiences in each case. Publix makes the best deli sandwiches of the grocery chains, let's just get that out of the way up front. Generous amounts and variety of meat and cheese, fresh bread, you name it. Hard to be let down. You also can't go wrong with their fried chicken in any form... even cold. The sushi to me is pretty good, but honestly, they aren't really beating any actual sushi restaurants around here on price. Especially on more basic rolls. At lunch, the average sushi place will get you more sushi, and prepared to order, then you'll get at Publix (or any grocery store) for a similar price. I wish they'd be more competitive on price, because it isn't as good. Good enough, but not like a sushi restaurant. Overall, Publix is a great place to shop and grab a bite to eat as well. Customer service there is top notch and the stores are always pristine. I'll continue to be an occasional patron, but probably not a regular grocery shopper. read more

I fell in love with Publix during Covid. Since they get a truck every day, they never ran out of anything! I was even able to buy toilet paper here during the big shortage! It's always clean, they have consistently good deals throughout the store and I love all of the specialty sections. First of all, I mainly use Publix as a restaurant, deli or quick grab for delicious and healthy lunches and dinners. I will also grab things that I need at the office or at home while I am there, but I am mostly a happy patron looking for a Publix Submarine sandwich (Pub Sub) overflowing with fresh vegetables, cheeses & meats on good-quality in-house baked bread, sushi ($5 sushi Wednesdays) and a wide variety of deli case and shelf grab-n-go options. A small seating area is located off the deli, with the soda machine. Utensils and condiments. I have also heard from multiple people that their wings are out of this world good. I use the app to order my subs and you would not believe the convenience and ease. Pick all of your toppings + and have it ready for pick up at the deli at the time you specify. Service is usually pretty good any everyone is friendly and helpful. They also celebrate your anniversary as a publix member and your birthday and half anniversary with cool treats sent to your email for a free bouquet of flowers, ice cream treat, piece of cake, and other sweet treats. Having frequented this Publix in HP for the past three years I can honestly say there has been a notable shift for the better in food quality, organic produce availability, and specialty meats (thank you for stocking lamb now in the meat section :D ). There has also been a huge improvement in customer service from when I started shopping here three years ago -- checkers are friendly and appear to really like working at this location and with their coworkers. There is a positive vibe all around, which is not always the case in many stores. read more

I had heard from others that Publix made good cakes. Decided to give them a try for my Dads birthday. I ordered my cake online, made all the choices, chose the day and time of pick up and I was done. (Vanilla cake with whipped icing) Arrived the day of pick up, cake was ready, decorated as requested and received a cake knife/spatula as well. My dad loved the cake, it tasted great! I just purchased their Hazelnut Amaretto Biscotti limited edition ice cream and it blew me away! Check it out...you won't regret it! For the most part, we were very impressed with this store. It is bright, clean, and attractive with spacious isles. The produce and meat sections are especially nice, with plenty of attractive choices. There was a problem in the deli area, and after 10 minutes without being waited on I just left - during that 10 minutes only 1 employee was helping 1 customer, 3 other employees milling around behind the deli area. I live in Florida but work in High Point half the year. When I found Publix here back in 2019, I was ecstatic. Publix is the best grocery store in America - hands down. I've been all over and they are second to none. The meats are always fresh and delicious. The produce is right on and the make the best subs around. No question. Everyone working at this location (and every one I've been to) have been super friendly and extremely professional. Don't waste your time at Harris Teeter - too expensive and the Food Lion is simply 3rd rate. Maybe a step above Walmart. Publix is 1st class all the way. And for the ones who think Publix is pricey - well, that's not only fake news, but you get what you pay for. If you want cheap, go get McDonalds, if you want the upper echelon - go to Publix. Wow. What did High Point do to deserve such a nice Publix? I'm not used to seeing such a nice and (relatively) new business in High Point, so this was a surprise. Where I live now (Atlanta), Publix stores are a dime a dozen. This one in High Point, which opened August 9, 2017, is special. It's by far the nicest Publix I've seen to date. My fiancee put it best: If Publix and Whole Foods had a baby, it would look like this Publix. It's definitely an elevated grocery shopping experience, especially for High Point. The Harris Teeter across the street has some serious competition now. This Publix store and the shopping center it resides in, Westchester Square (Publix also owns this shopping center), were built from scratch. The store is huge and modern. Unlike most Publix stores, the cart returns outside at this store are integrated nicely with the parking lot and landscaping. There's also a drive-thru pharmacy. Inside, the place is impressive. It's got a bit of an "upscale" feel to it. I've been in a lot of Publix stores and I can count with one hand the number I've seen that have a salad bar ($6.99/lb), olive bar ($8.99/lb), and dining room. We visited on a Sunday evening and they were handing out yummy food samples just like Costco. Things like the wine and cheese sections were fairly sizable, definitely better than the wine and cheese sections at my neighborhood Publix stores in Atlanta. The produce selection was great and the meat and seafood departments were a sight to behold. The fish selection, including whole fish and fillets/cuts, was decent. They carried mussels ($4.39/lb), clams ($0.69 each), shrimp, brown king crab legs ($22.99/lb), and snow crab legs ($9.99/lb). The milk inventory was superb. They had everything from A2 milk ($4.49 for 59 oz) to milked almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, and walnuts (about $3-4 for 32 oz). Overall, the grocery selection at this Publix was easily the best I've seen at any Publix. The store was clean and well-stocked. Everything was neatly organized and the staff was friendly and polite too. This store is definitely a win for the City of High Point. I hope the local economy can sustain it. By building and opening this store, Publix has shown it certainly believes in the city. read more

We get our prescriptions at Publix in New Smyrna Beach and decided to try and see if we could get just a few to get us home. They were so helpful and understanding. Changed my simple life. My wife and I have recently moved to a nearby lake community and were rural and shopping at a Food Lion for convenience and distance. As we are at a high risk for the Covid-19, I stopped going to Food Lion. Their own employees didn't adhere their own signage. It was for show and the customers ignored the lack of leadership. It was all for show. And now I know two things...Publix is a real grocery store and they take the laws and guidelines seriously. They care about their customers. Selection is perfect. It's a joy to travel the 50 minutes to shop. We bought another refrigerator for the boat house and load up when we visit. My only suggestion would be to lower meat prices. They are way too high. We have a local rancher that sells farm fresh at about half what you charge and the cuts are generous. Good job Publix. read more

When it comes to the best grocery store in High Point, you're essentially looking at a face off between Harris Teeter and Publix, and Publix takes the trophy. The ultimate negative about Publix (which is generally shared throughout the community) is the higher prices, which can be substantial on some products. Publix also falls short in the meat department. Simply put, other meat counters in town have a better quality and selection of meat at a lower price. I love to grill, so that's important. When it comes to almost every other product, Publix's selection is amazing, including some staples that aren't easily found elsewhere (I.e., Blue Bell ice cream, Breakstone's unsalted butter, etc.). Other positives include the sanitation since Publix is probably one of the cleanest grocery stores you're likely to ever visit. The employees are also a highlight. They are always very friendly and can be helpful to a fault. It's their policy to attempt to help you to your car, and they can be extremely persistent at times. While a great service for some, I can carry my beer and Cookie Crisp just fine, thank you. I also never carry cash. Ever. This means I'm doomed to awkwardly having to avoid cash tipping situations at all costs. Here's my favorite thing about the High Point Publix: the other customers, or lack thereof. Seriously, I usually have the place almost to myself. I have a theory that the higher prices scare everyone away to Harris Teeter and Food Lion, which is a'ok with me. I look at it like I'm paying more for less people. Harris Teeter seems to be insanely busy most of the time and as a result has one of the most dangerous parking lots in High Point due to the amount of inattentive people driving 3,000 pound death machines while in a daze. Conversely, the Publix parking lot is fantastic! Publix doesn't have a loyalty program that offers discounts in the same vein as Harris Teeter's VIC program or Food Lion's MVP program. Putting your phone number or email into the kiosk at checkout signs you up for spam e-mail, which I'm good without. A grocery store is a grocery store in most respects. You can get everything you need and almost anything you want at any grocery store in High Point. It really comes down to personal preference in the end and seeking out the perks that fit your expectations. For me, that's Publix. You can save money by shopping elsewhere, but Publix offers the better overall experience, and therefore better value for me. read more

The people were fantastic and had great attitudes! Super nice and extremely helpful! In a nice location, in case you need to pop in quick to grab something. The shelves are packed full, without any empty spaces. Bravo to Publix --while we were walking the cart out to our car, our bag of Duritos fell off of the cart (from how the lady packed our cart) and exploded all over the parking lot. My boyfriend went in and without ANY hassle or questions replaced the bag and were extremely nice about it! We are thankful that they have such superb customer service and never give you any hassle or waste your time. This is why we shop at Publix ONLY. *just be careful with how they load your cart sometimes so you can avoid food falling off and exploding in the parking lot, learn from us haha :-) read more

Publix doesn't carry this design so I ordered off of amazon and just ordered a plain sheet cake with white icing nothing on it. Long story short cake topper never showed, nor public fault AT ALL but I requested we bring the cake back in and the ladies write happy Birtjday on the cake. I was told no. Dropped by here today literally only to try the Pub Sub... I had to see what the big deal was! I headed straight to the Deli and was greeted by two very friendly employees. They gave me suggestions and kept me smiling throughout the order. Everyone I interacted with at Publix had that same level of enthusiasm and it was very refreshing. As far as the sub goes... wow! I get the hype. I ordered a half buffalo chicken tender sub (toasted, of course) with cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and pickles. It was like $6 and worth every penny. Our family drives some distance to this Publix for the 8 pc fried chicken family pack which is usually hot and delicious. Today we brought one home for lunch (I know how to look at the label to make sure it is the item we like. The chicken had apparently been breaded in "hot and spicy" breading and was inedible as we cannot tolerate spice food. After calling Publix twice (I was hung up on the first time), a second manager said he would "look into it" and maybe our next chicken could be on the house. Disinterested and impatient. I get it now. 4.4 Billion in profits by this chain, and they want to ruin an old landmark home on the Underground Railroad for a new store on Skeet Club and Johnson, but they are NOT willing to correct a problem. I have been several times to this location, and today's trip was no different. Everything was exceptional. My husband and I were greeted by every worker we saw. Everyone said good morning and offered to help us find anything we needed. At check out, there were no lines and the cashier and bagger were conversational. We took the bagger out with us, and after she was finished, she gave us a coupon for our next shop at Publix. So, take a bagger with you and see if you get anything!
