Stopped by the brewery on a Friday afternoon, and tried their sampler (6 oz glasses of 5 of their brews) at the bar, which was pretty tasty. We realized that there would be a brewery tour at 5, so we piad the $5 to join the tour. Overall, I thought it was a great tour. A mix of history, brewing science/physics, and taste-testing. At the end of the tour, we were allowed to taste whichever beers we wanted from the 10 or so that they had on tap. Afterwards, we sat around the fire pit that they have outside, which was a very enjoyable way to spend an autumn evening. read more

Great $5 tour. I was 9 months pregnant and still found the tour entertaining. My husband enjoyed all the samples. Tour guides were great and informatics. 1 hr your actually flew by. Didn't eat there but the beer garden looked nice. Lots of tables to sit at even if you aren't dining there and a few yard games - bad mitten & corn hole. Few other shops there make it a fun stop when you are in the area. read more

We waited over an hour for a 15 minute wait per the hostess. The food for one person came out and it was another 20 minutes before the rest of the table was served making a 2 hour total wait. It was pretty embarrassing because I had raved about them previously and I took in clients from my business from NC. The only saving grace was that the food was good. I will go back...but I won't take out of town folks there again. read more

An awesome spot in Southern VT! An incredible selection of brews, only available at the brewery, growler service and tasty grub make this a great spot. Add in the bocce and lawn tennis courts, movies and concerts and.the adjacent wood fired pizza shop and distillery and you have a recipe for a great time read more

The waitress we had (Mac) was very helpful, patient, and a good server. The food was great and the beer was even better. I'm not commonly in VT, but I would come back here next time I'm in the area. read more

Found this place by accident, we were just exploring the area. What a pleasant surprise!! Nice place with super friendly staff, our waiter was Shaun, great personality. Beer was really good, we weren't expecting much from the food but we really enjoyed our meal. Would definitely go back!! read more

Went twice during our visit to the area. The second time we came with a large group on short notice and they were able to accommodate us and provide great service. The food was fantastic, everything I tried was great. I especially loved the brussel sprouts, pretzel, and Reuben. We also had a few flights of beer and were happy with the variety and price! Hard to beat a $6 flight of 4 beers! Outside the brewery there are cornohole boards, badminton, a play set for kids, and a giant chess board. Such a fun place! read more

We come here often as we live nearby. The food is great, but the beer is the real star of the show! It's great to visit in the warmer months and sit outside around the fire pit. We appreciate that we can bring our dog here with us to have a beer and visit with friends. They have a water bowl outside for the pups in the summer, and lots of shady seating. There is even a place to order outside if you can't make it inside to order. The outside menu is more limited foodwise. The food menu hasn't changed in awhile, but there are very good staples and it's nice to be able to depend on that! We're happy to have Harpoon in the area and as a local still believe it's definitely worth a visit if you're just passing through. read more

Harpoon Brewery staff was awesome in making sure we were taken care of towards closing time this sunday 1/15/17. Our waitress (shoutout to Kali) was accurate in her descriptions of the specials and amazing fries an onion rings. Service was on point, food was delicious and beer was flowing. Great night! Harpoon Brewery - Thanks for the great service! - Breweries Near Me - Windsor, Vermont

Service was great, cider was fantastic, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was amazing! The nearby shops are also incredible! Definitely take the time to come to this hidden gem! read more

Flies everywhere on the outdoor patio. Nature of the beast, I get it. Just a fair warning to y'all. Food was fine. Beer was great. Service was great. Atmosphere was nice. read more

Good beer and people, unnecessarily greasy food. Tour the brewery, sample the beers and then walk it off in the Path of Life Garden!

Service was terrible today. Had to wait a long time for the waitress to take our order and then we had to watch her chat with guys at the bar while waiting for our check. The food was plentiful and flavorful (especially the clam chowder), but all four of us got stomach aches and head aches afterwards. We also became wicked thirsty. The hard cider was mediocre. Atmosphere is good. The only reason to return is the lack of other restaurants and breweries in Windsor county. read more

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Josh the bartender is awesome and made our experience one that will never be forgotten! Food was great, especially the pulled pork nachos. The tour was great, and was very well educated! read more

I meant to write this review weeks ago because I had an awesome experience at this place. I was headed up to smugglers notch for a weekend and we stopped at Harpoon for some food right at 10 am. We opened the place up with the bartender, Josh. Very cool guy, told us all about the beers and made great recommendations. Food was very good too. Long story short, we stayed for about 2 hours trying beers when we only had originally planned on staying for about a half hour. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Look for Josh behind the bar! read more

We enjoyed the tasting room a lot. We tried some of their beer that we didn't know they even made... Bartender was awesome And was able to help us find the right beer for us. They had a band playing and it was a bit to loud but that could just be preference. Had some sweet potato fries that were good. read more

Great for beer. By all means this place gets a 5 when it comes to the beer. The food however, isn't the best in the best in the area so I would say the food I would ge a 3. Average them out for a 4. There's always activities going on here so it's cool if you can get it on one of those days. read more

Love sitting at the bar always a good show. The bartenders are super fun and happy to be there. The onion rings are the best ever along with the Reuben. read more

This is our first trip to Vermont. While we arrived late, the staff did not rush us. They were ready to explain their micro brewery selections and offered samples. We were able to sample styles of beer we do not typically drink. The food selection may be limited but there is more than enough choice to satisfy everyone. The food was really high quality. I say this because the Windsor area is not a congested city area where you get hit with restaurants bragging about ratings. This is a solid restaurant with remarkable quality. The chef(s) are to be thanked for food with great flavor and style. Last but not least are the servers. Even at this late hour, they were glad to see us. They were very expressive in talking about some of the main dishes. Come to Windsor and do not miss this place. read more

Great place to stop and have a burger and beer after touring the near by Connecticut river at the local canoe and kayak rental. The near by Path of Life Sculpture Garden that provides a more artsy feel but is right next to the river. read more

Had yet another amazing experience at Harpoon Brewery. Bartender Josh Dunne always is very attentive and a blast to be around. Of course their beer is always delicious, but Josh makes the experience exceptional. Make sure you make it the full experience by checking out the cheese shop next door, the distillery across the parking lot, and do something active at great river outfitters! read more

Harpoon Brewery - Breweries Near Me - Windsor, Vermont

Great beer (love that Leviathan) and though the apple cider isn't my favourite cider, their pumpkin cider is great (and the honey cider, though that's not something they keep on tap or anything). My favourite place to get a drink with my friends. The beer garden is really nice! read more

Accommodated our group of 18 people nicely. Waitress was a gem and even split our bill. Food is good. Beers are great! Sadly they were out of cheese curds for the Poutine :( read more

I've been to many breweries in my time and I must say this is one of the best experiences. For $5 you get a terrific keepsake tasting glass and more importantly you get a wealth of knowledge from the 45 minute tour. They really take you right through the floor of the brewery in every capacity as they teach you the intricacies of what goes into making beer. To help add to the experience they let you taste a 'green' beer and then the finished product for you to understand some of the different stages of making a beer. This is quite different to many other tours which are self guided, in cordoned off areas or a birds-eye view of the floor below. And of course, the best part is saved for last, the tasting of the various flavors. Mmmmmm.... While the tasting portion only lasts for 15 minutes, they do have a full bar and restaurant on site and if they have additional brews there or others you just want to taste again, they'll be more than happy to accomodate you. read more

Came here to get a stamp on my Vermont brewers passport and have a tour and tasting. We got there at 4:30pm for the 5pm tour. We paid $5 for a ticket and walked around the gift shop and hung out outside (nice outdoor seating!) and then the tour began. There were only like 8 people on the tour which was nice. And there were three workers doing the tour for us. It was about a 45 minute long tour that when into great detail about the brewing process in general and at harpoon. It was immensely informative/educational but also fun and humorous!! I had a great time! During the tour we got to try harpoon ipa as green beer- fresh out of the tank- delicious!! And then we headed to the tasting area where we got to have unlimited tastings of all the harpoon beers. It was amazing!! They also have some 'mixes' the guys do - like harpoon leviathan and cider- Which reminded me of the mixes I used to do with icees at 7-11! All the beer was great- though i may have been slightly drunk afterwards!! It was lovely and totally worth the cost! Definitely try a tour here- you will not be disappointed!! read more

Fun busy place to enjoy a burger and beer. Burgers are good, and it great being able enjoy flights of beer. Easily accessible off the highway. read more

Monday, June 6, 2011 was on a tour to stop at Harpoon Brewery for lunch. Because there was 12 seniors, they insisted on one check only and would not even divide us into 3 tables of four with one check for each table to make it easier for us. We left and ate at the wonderful diner in Windsor with separate checks (no problem). In these economic times a business establishment can let over $100.00 walk out the door??!! In addition to food, a few of us were purchasing items from the gift shop. I had my heart set on a microbrew; unfortunately, had to go with the flow. Not sure I will return for a tour or favorably recommend a stop here for tour, food or anything. Very rude personnel!! read more

Great beer selection, good food, LOVE the pretzels with beer cheese!! Place is always packed. But harpoon closes so early! Wish it stayed open later, especially in the summer months. More events please! read more

I really love this place. Food is delicious. Beer is too. What really makes this place special is the staff. I don't know what it is but no matter how busy, the staff is still helpful, courteous and pleasant. read more

Visited for the first time today, enjoyed a beer and late lunch outside on the patio area. The place was relatively busy with a good portion of the crowd seeming to be locals, which was a good sign. The beer garden area was great, there was a small fire going with Adirondack chairs around it, and a dog water bowl leading me to believe you could bring your four-legged friend to join you outside. The food was good, and affordably priced, but nothing super special. Our server was pleasant and attentive, but she did not have as much knowledge about the beers. She was unable to answer a few of our questions when we were making our beer selections, which was surprising (they were pretty basic, we aren't beer connoisseurs!). She mis-informed my husband about the alcohol content of the beer he ended up ordering (a difference of 4.5%) which we only discovered when picking up some beers to take home before we left. She did seem young, so perhaps she is not old enough to enjoy the beers and does not have as much of an understanding of them. We did not take a tour, which we will definitely do next time after reading the other rave reviews! All in all, definitely worth a stop, and we will surely be back - but maybe just for appetizers instead of a meal with our beers. read more

Dunne deal. I will never by booze anywhere else. His blonde jokes just made my day. John dunne, marry me.

Great place to stop with the family for lunch. They offer a great menu in their beer garden and there is a lot of room for little ones to run around. I would definitely suggest trying their sampling menu of beer, it was great. Surprisingly, I even enjoyed their cider. If you get a chance, I would also take a walk around the sculpture garden next door. read more

It has been 3 days I want another grilled cheese sandwich!!!.....along with a good beer (or 2) and pretty tasty little salad I was a very happy luncher. The onion rings were really good too and yummy vintage sodas. My wife loved the Path of Life self guided tour at the bottom of the parking lot - she found it meaningful and reflective though she hadn't been drinking. I thought the site and charred sculptures were beautiful, the maze both fun and a good sobriety test and was good to walk after a few beers but the grilled cheese was a more spiritual experience for me. read more

Great place, awesome tour. We stopped by here during a trip to the area, and loved the tour and the food. If you're familiar with Harpoon beers, you'll especially enjoy the tour, as you can get a ton of samples at the end. I really liked our tour guides (there were three). They were knowledgable and enthusiastic. I asked a bunch of questions, and they gave really informative answers. We ate lunch after our tour, and the food was quite good as well. We had the local grass-fed burgers (a special) and fries. The burger was delicious, and the fries were super crispy. Service was a little slow, but they were busy as it was a holiday. This was my boyfriend's third trip to Harpoon, and he insisted we repeat the tour (I'd never been) because it was such a blast-- not an understatement. It's definitely the best brewery tour I've been on, and I've been on my fair share. Highly recommend Harpoon if you're in the area, or even if it's slightly out of your way. read more

My review is based on waiting for a table. We never got to eat or drink. I ran a half marathon while on a weekend getaway to VT. Needless to say I was hungry after the race. We thought it would be great to stop here for lunch before the drive home. It was about a 40 min ride from our B&B. When we arrived we were told there would be a 15-20 min wait for an outside table which was totally reasonable. It was beautiful out so we said sure. We quickly realized there were no benches near the hostess booth. After running that morning I was spent and found myself leaning against the wall. Then after waiting 15 min we were offered an inside table but we were also informed that there was a 35+ min wait for food because of a back up in the kitchen. We decided to still wait for the outside spot. I figured if we had to wait for food anyways that we might as well wait for an outside table at the same time. About 10 min later another staff informed us that the wait for food was actually an hour plus. So after waiting 25-30 min we left hungry. It might have just been a bad day for them, but I can't say I'd go out of my way again to go there. read more

We have been huge fans of this place for years and always stop on our way back and forth with our three kids. The food and service is usually great. I was sorely disappointed, however, when we stopped today in the middle of a long drive with two hours left to go. The kids needed a bite to eat and we were close enough so I called to make sure there would be no wait- if it was too busy, given the drive ahead, the time of evening and level of hunger of the kids we wanted to eat and run elsewhere. I explained this over the phone after waiting forever to hear all of the recorded greetings. The person who answered the phone said she would put my name in, and we could come right in with no wait. Nine minutes later we walked in and were told 30-45 minute wait. When I mentioned I had called ahead and explained the situation, they said there was nothing they could do for us because they had "reservations of 13 and 11!" I said my family of 5 just wanted some poutine and a couple of kids burgers then we would be on our way and were told "the kitchen was pretty backed up". I don't mind being told it is too busy to accommodate our needs but I really wish the original person hadn't told me no problem because we would have stopped at the other place we looked at instead. Not sure if it was incompetence or a bait and switch but if I took the time to call I would have appreciates the information I needed. A long drive with 3 kids is tough...while we always had a "go to" dinner place at Harpoon, we may be looking elsewhere now for our traditional stopping point read more
