Stumbled on this brewery after a hike at Pack Monadnock; we almost drove right past it, but I'm so glad we didn't. I love when old buildings get a second life, and Post and Beam did a really nice job renovating this former Civil War Veterans' hall. The front yard could use a little sprucing, but the side patio and inside were clean and well kept. The small outdoor patio ended up being the perfect spot to sit and sip our hazy IPAs. Cool place and definitely worth a stop. read more

Post And Beam Brewing - Outdoor patio - Breweries Near Me - Peterborough, New Hampshire

Tried Post & Beam Brewing on a summer afternoon and was really impressed. The Our Town NEIPA came highly recommended... Crisp, fruity, and super refreshing, it's exactly what you want on a warm day. The taproom has a darker, cozier vibe. Our server was friendly, attentive, and clearly knew the lineup well. What really adds to the charm is the building's history. Originally built in 1837 as a private academy, it later served as a Civil War veterans' hall before becoming home to the brewery. You can feel the past in the details, Post & Beam has done a great job preserving that legacy. Unfortunately, no dogs allowed inside or outside on their patio read more

Over due in writing a review, they have become the town pub and have a cult following, some of which is combined with there pizza options from outside and people will wait have beers and eat pizza. With the time / wait for pizzas the place stays full a while. In the spring, fall and summer the outside fills up and is a nice area to sit and have a drink. The pub food is also really good i am a big fan of the buffalo chicken dip. Big fan of the sours and the our town is a town classic / favorite. read more

Such a cool spot and worth traveling to. Beers were delicious and the bartenders were great at explaining differences to us. We shared a pretzel with beer cheese- perfect bar snack! Really love to updated interior while the outside maintains the historic GAR Hall look. Incredible service in a unique atmosphere. We weren't hungry enough for pizza but love that you could order from the pizza truck outside via QR code from inside. read more

I love this business but how about some DEI in the available recipes at the P&B? I'm sorry but my stomach can't handle ultra-citrusy, highly-hopped, unfiltered brews - to me, they taste like Pinesol. In the category of "variety is the spice of life" I prefer diversities along the lines of Harpoon IPA, Fat Tire Ale or even Switchback. I want a clear, deep copper colored medium-bodied beer to enjoy when I visit. read more

Highly recommend awesome place to enjoy a nice beer and unwind from the evils of corporate America read more

Post And Beam Brewing - Cool joint great beer awesome people just a great all around hang out place. - Breweries Near Me - Peterborough, New Hampshire

Good environment to have nice time with friends with good beer. I'm not a regular drinker, but I like beers here. Outside food is okay to bring. read more

As a local, this is my favorite spot to meet up with friends for a drink. The staff show the perfect amount of attention and they know their beer! If it's busy and seating is limited, I end up making new friends by sharing a table because the atmosphere is so friendly. I love that I can bring in my own food if I'm hungry but the bar food is also a great choice and made fresh by local producers. Every community should have a great spot like this. read more

The number one and ONLY brewery in town. I've only been here once but the triple saison was awesome. The building is incredible too, an old Union soldier hall that almost feels illegal to step into unless you fought in the war. The outside looks like a Stephen King set- in a good way. Spikes in the steeple, cannon balls on the lawn and cannons of course. It's almost menacing? I only wish they had a better sign because the values on the lettering and background are too similar. I drove past the place several times before I realized it was an actual establishment. Now and fertilize that lawn and it's going to bring everything up. I'll be back again- probably bringing friends. read more

Post and Beam Brewery is located in downtown Peterborough. The Brewery is located in one of the older buildings. You have to park on the street and walk up to the building, which isn't a problem because it's so beautiful in the downtown area. They day we visited they had a food truck outside. The inside in very nice. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy with limited seating. My husband and I both ordered a beer. They also serve a few appetizers so we ordered buffalo chicken dip with chips. It was a small serving, but went good with the beers we had. My husband and I enjoyed our beers and the setting. I perfect spot for a date or grabbing a beer with friends. read more

I love this brewery, the bar was fun to sit at and the bartenders were friendly! I also like the rustic atmosphere, it used to be a school and a vfw I believe. Excellent beer and they have yummy hot dips like buffalo chicken and artichoke. The only thing that sucks is when your done at the bar you have to go get in line to pay and it's the same line everyone else uses to order their beer. read more

This is becoming a thing, me writing about breweries! We have been waiting since June for Post and Beam Brewery to open its doors and they have, on July 28, 2018. We visited the brewery about three weeks later, in time for them to get out all of the opening glitches that most start up businesses face. Well the wait was well worth it. We were surprised to find a very well rounded craft beer selection! So happy that they were not focused on IPA's!!! The selections were as follows (the ones with the asterisks we did try): Butcher Holler: Grisette * Boxcar: Saison * Sunshine & Sorrow: Pilsner * MoJo Nixon: NEIPA (was out of this) Bandit Hat: Dry Stout * All the beers were excellent but Boxcar won the prize with my girlfriend and I. Outstanding! All the other beers we tasted were also fabulous! Listen, they are up and coming.....I stress UP! The atmosphere is great, Old G.A.R. Hall with post and Beam construction....brewing takes place in the basement....Beings that it is a new facility, it shines inside (very clean).....So, if I had to give Post and Beam Brewing final ratings, it would be like this..... Facility: 5 stars Beer that was offered: 5 stars Staff: 5 stars Forgive me, I didn't even mention the staff above. They were friendly and very knowledgeable... Keep up the great work, your going places...... read more

May be one of my favorite breweries, period. Decorated like an artsy log cabin, with the cozy vibes to match. Got a flight and every single beer hit right - particularly the lager and cerveza. Excited to try some food next time read more

Located in the upstairs of a very cool, historic building. The inside is beautiful. The staff were very friendly. They have snacks available for purchase. When I visited, they only had about 3 beers on tap, they were out of the others. I had their Berliner Weisse. It was pretty thin and not overly fruity but good enough. They had an outdoor patio with about 6 or so tables to enjoy the weather and the view. If you're in Peterborough, why not stop by for a beer? read more

Post And Beam Brewing - a glass of beer - Breweries Near Me - Peterborough, New Hampshire

I visited yesterday for the first time, and honestly cannot wait to return. I tried the New England IPA which was delicious, and the Gose that was well balanced and quite tasty. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to stay and dance around the beer stylings, I def could have dealt with another pint and some snacks (the chili sounded quite good, but more on "food" later) The staff were quite freindly and engaging in a quite chill manor, and super attentive to the patrons needs. I have become quite accustomed to Breweries supplying hot and cold snacks, pretzels, soups/chilis, cheese plates, etc. And most who choose this method also accomodate customers bringing in their own food, which to me is welcome, as you can then choose your own adventure, and have exactly what you want. I was disappointed to see the review left on July 4th where the not so humble but quite hungry reviewer basically slams this place with a two star review and rants about nothing but food this, food that, food food food. This is a brewery. I would like to see them concentrate on brewing, and have a staff that is knowledgable about the beers they offer, and not worrying about what kind of sides you get and if there is mayo on that sandwich. In this enviornment, beer should always come first. A: Do your homework before visiting, and don't show up starving if you are unsure of the food situation. B: The brewery is surrounded by restaurants, so there is nothing stopping you from scratching that itch. C: The two star review mentioned absolutely nothing about the beer, so come on, cut the crap. I get a lil bent out of shape when I am hungry too, I get it, but I would not let that personal shortcoming fuel an unfair review for a thriving independent local business. That said, I have every intent on driving an hour each way to return. Thumbs up and high fives to this crew, and thanks for making a stranger feel at home. Def the highlight of my first time bumping around town. read more

Beautiful place with peaceful atmosphere, and a patio as well. Loved the beers we selected, and the pretzel. I liked it so much, I even purchased a T-shirt there. read more

Awesome brewery, fantastic atmosphere, incredible staff- beer is great, you can tell they really took care to build something wonderful, and it's such a benefit to the community they are in. Even awesome pizza truck on the weekends! It doesn't get better than this! The sour raspberry beer is my absolute favorite. They have a varied menu of beers (from porter, light, IPA and a sour) which all have great names. It's always being rotated to keep it fresh. Cool merch, staff are super nice and attentive. read more

Very very good NE IPA. Distant Radio. Rivals Treehouse and Nightshift being full of layers of flavor and aroma yet a 'how do they do it' smoooooth. The saison was very good and wasn't overly bitter like many. Imperial stout tasted like a strong Russian stout but also had some toasted Carmel apple in it. Coming back for that in the fall. Unique old Granger Hall type building right downtown. Bar, open seating and outdoor patio. Staff was great, enthusiastic and made sure everyone was taken care of. A very chill place. Make it a stop on your way across NH. read more

So glad this place opened in Peterborough! Its making good use of a beautiful, historical building and its different from anything else in town. Ambience is great, beautiful lighting, although I would put more tables in. We didnt try the food (next time!) But all the beers were delicious and the service was great. They also have nice merchandise and the tables have Trivial pursuit questions. Will come back! read more

Post And Beam Brewing - a selection of beers - Breweries Near Me - Peterborough, New Hampshire

The beer here is fire! There is something for everyone. Saison for those who like something on the sweeter side. Stout for...those who like stout. A pale ale that smells like orange juice, but is lighter than a heavy IPA. And their IPA, it's on the same level as Treehouse. This place is worth a 60-90 trip. The food is locally made, but if you want something else, you can grab some takeout and bring it in. This is a destination for beer lovers and an absolute gift for anyone who lives within 30 minutes. I might just move to Peterborough so I can drink their beer on the regular. read more

Post And Beam Brewing - a pint and a glass of beer - Breweries Near Me - Peterborough, New Hampshire

New this year to Peterborough's restaurant scene - well, tap house, means beer and snacks. The beers are good. The flagship IPA "Our Town" a good New England IPA. Unfortunately not always available. Location has great potential. Beautiful. Not yet a real pub feel, but then again, it is a tap house. Service has been good the times I have been. read more

First time going here a few days ago and was impressed by the decor/remodel, then impressed by the beer, of course! The snacks they had were also delicious and made locally down the street. Owners were friendly and welcoming. We're mostly in the area during the warmer months and we'll be sure to stop in again. Nice addition to Peterborough! read more

Love this spot. The beer is awesome, and the ambiance is so cool. They've partnered with Cooper's Hill to add more food options, and it's definitely my favorite spot to meet a friend in town. Service is great, too! read more

First visit since they've opened. A great atmosphere and excellent beer. I got the Our Town NEIPA and I'm quite satisfied with it. Looking forward to coming back again. read more

Where's the beef? Honestly, there are barely any food options here. Beer soups and pretzels. Elm street brewery in Keene serves food. Able Ebenezer in Merrimack has food trucks. Wachusett brewery... food. Schilling Beer Co in Littleton NH, food. Even Labelle winery has food. Yes I know it's a winery but you get the point. This place doesn't even have pub fare. Business like this have to cater to what the clientele wants and not their perceived notion of what the clientele show have. The consumer dictates the need with what they spend. read more

Really great selection of beers, and all that I've tried are more than a step above pretty much any others that I've tried anywhere! Nice and informative bartenders, in a beautifully restored antique building. The town of Peterborough, NH is a lovely town, especially viewed from their patio near the river. What's not to love! read more

Great beer and a great place to hang out or meet friends. My current favorite is a scotch malt called 'the Imp'

Beers are great, but the sampling (flight pricing) is out of whack. 20 ounces for 20.00 is crazy. Won't be back. If you know what you want, definitely worth it. read more

What a great craft brewery! First and foremost the beer is excellent. There is a really nice variety of different styles of beer that makes it easy for everyone to find a style they like. The setting is amazing with a picture album highlighting the scope of the remodeling project. Waitstaff are welcoming and very attentive. This is a great destination brewery. read more

Outstanding! Finally had the opportunity to try this new establishment. Was not sure what I was going to think- beer only and little to no food served. Well, this was a very good surprise. I was so impressed!! The beer choices were great and the food they had was delicious. I am not a hoppy beer drinker and there were at least two on the menu that I enjoyed. I did try the buffalo chicken dip and it was great. Can't wait to return and try more of the beer choices (can't wait for a chance to try a sour beer there). read more

Post and Beam is exceptional! I had to sample every single beer there and was blown away by them all and the craftsmanship that went in to creating such perfectly balanced and interesting brews. Brewmaster Jeff Odland is spot on! And the atmosphere in the tap room makes one want to stay all night. The vibe is warm, friendly, rustic, and delightful. Both the setting and the beer is so artfully done- a true gem of NH. Go now and drink up! read more

Love this place, the building is so cool and perfect for a brewery. The decor is great super cozy and relaxed vibe. Great details in the design. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The only reason I rank 4 instead of 5 is because there were only 4 beers on tap usually like to have a flight with a bit more selection. But overall beers were tasty and they even have a small but good snack food menu. read more
