My fiancee and I come here regularly and are never disappointed. The service is always fantastic with the floor staff remembering you (if you go regularly enough!!) and remembering where you like to sit. The beer is always delicious and the staff never give you any trouble if you need to sample your way through a few to find the best. The range is nice and there is always something for any mood, the hibiscus cider being very nice in these warming days. Food wise, great big eat portions. We usually order some starters and sides to share, but on the odd occasion will dip into full meals which are definitely filling. The brat is great and the wings as well though at the moments their Artichoke flatbread is the things to get. Nothing like harpoon on a sunny arvo, where you need to get a bit of work done and need a beer and some chow to keep you going. Our favourite regular haunt! 5 stars. read more

Unfortunately there are not a lot of family dinner options in this area, but this looked promising. We called ahead to reserve a table, and glad (at first) that we did, as they were telling others who just walked in that it would be a long wait. It was a Thursday night which is the night they do live music on the premises, so it's typically their busiest night. We sat outside, which was nice on a good weather day. A little loud but okay. Harpoon is located within a small complex area with other businesses - there is an ice cream stand, a shop, a vodka distillery, etc. There is a small playground structure and a giant outdoor chess seat which is a short distance from the outdoor patio, so it was a good place to bring kids to let off some steam during the very long food wait. Unfortunately, the service was very slow that night (wait to order food, receive food, pay bill, etc.), and so detracting one star. Food quality itself was okay as well. The beer and cider were very good. read more

Food is average, beer is average, and the amount of time you have to wait for your food is ridiculous. Great if you are not in a rush, but not even busy and slow. I don't understand. So much potential, but almost and hour to receive our food after ordering. read more

I love Harpoon. :) We came by on a beautiful sunny Saturday and sat in the beer garden. You can order from an outdoor beer window for a limited menu or order inside and bring to the garden. There's giant chess, badminton, can jam, and corn hole. The beer pretzel and the cheese it comes with is stuff of dreams. read more

Was happy we went here! Arrived around 2pm on a Saturday and had about a 15 min wait for our table. We got beers while we were waiting. They let us sample before buying which was nice. Once seated we got the reuben, fries and onion rings. All of it was very good. We sat outside and it was perfect. Our server was very good and overall we had a nice meal. read more

We visited yesterday- took the brewery tour which was worth the $5 price- great info and plenty of beer and cider samples. Thank you to Hanna who took care of us with an outside lunch - great beer recommendations and even better service! She was attentive, funny and made our experience amazing! Ended our day with a beer by the fire pit and a game of corn hole. We will be back soon! read more

There are no tours but off their pub/gift shop was a small viewing area where you can get a quick look at their operation. If you want a tour this is not the spot to stop. I did not eat while was here but there is food available. Get a sampler of their beers on tap it's definitely enjoyable. read more

We went to Harpoon after hiking at Mt Ascutney nearby and were very impressed by the socially distanced table set up - we felt very comfortable despite the brewery being quite busy! The food was delicious - we had the nachos, pretzel, a burger, salad, and soup (we were starving post hike). Plenty of beers on tap and we really enjoyed the variations of the UFO (particularly the raspberry and Georgia peach). Would definitely recommend stopping here, particularly after a long day hiking it was the perfect reward!! read more

This is by far the best brewery tour in VT. I hit up what was the last tour of the day which ended up working out well because they were in no hurry at all & I think were more relaxed because they knew their day was almost over. The tour was not given by just 1 person, but a team of 3 which was really interesting. It started with a history of Harpoon & then the VT location and how it differs from the Boston one. They then got into the brewing process in pretty amazing detail. They even passed around the different grains & hops that they use in the brewing process to smell and/or taste. They then took us into the heart of the brewery and even connected a line to the aging tank that was full of IPA and let everyone taste it "green" & unfiltered. It was pretty interesting to say the least. They then took us into the cold freezer storage warehouse which had an amazing variety of cases, kegs and bottles. They then took us to the tasting area which had all the beers they brew and you could have as many as you liked. I thought it was great that they had the Leviatian & 100 Barrel series available for tasting even though they don't brew those in VT. They also had a Cider which I didn't realize they even made. They also were having a little fun and were mixing some of the selections together for different tastes. Some of them were pretty good. They also have a large gift shop area with all sorts of Harpoon branded stuff. They also have a large dining & bar area, but I didn't try any of the food or beers you had to pay for. Outside they have tons of tables & benches & green space to sit out and enjoy the area. This place is definitely worth a trip if you enjoy beer. read more

Visited here for drinks and dinner. Beer selection was great and cider. Meals were not the best had the pesto burger and pulled pork sandwich, the burger buns were very dry and tasted powdery. The pretzel was delicious read more

This place rocks! My wife and I are huge fans of Harpoon as a whole and this was our first trip to their VT brewery and it was a blast. The people who work for Harpoon are all fun and laid back types that are very well informed. We were up for the Octoberfest Road Race and festival. THe whole event was a huge success we had four beers each at no cost extra to us! and topped those off with some Bratwurst. We enjoyed the tour of the brewery and learned alot about their philosophy on beer making. Pretty neat process is used to create their line of UFO beers that are a favorite at the thirstygreek's house. At the end of the tour we sampled a GIANT brew, it was a pilsner from their Levathian series of beers. It was huge and tasted like you got a drop kick from a street fighting hop and then @ 9% etoh ripped a trail of enjoyable fire down your throat. We will no doubt be back next year as well as a few trips to their Boston brewery as well. We left with a nice mixed case of brew including their seasonal Cider that is sweeeeet! If you don't mind the drive and can make a couple days of the trip I highly rec it. read more

The service is excellent and very knowledgeable about the brews. The food was better than average and the menu was extensive.

The first time I came to the Harpoon Brewery, it was just this little brewery, and they were holding some sort of fair. Let me tell you, I am the master of fair games geared toward ten year olds. Since then, they have added a large restaurant and a big area where you can grab Harpoon gear. I have been here to eat twice since the addition. So, about a month ago we stopped in here on our way to Burlington. It was a beautiful day, so we opted to sit on the patio. The patio is furnished with picnic tables, and has stacks of wood lining it. The whole place has this woodsy Vermont feel, while catering to yuppies on vacation. When we sat down, there was one other party on the patio. Then, in walks some mob of children. I don't know if this was some goofy quiverfull movement, a roving daycare, or a kindergarten field trip. All I know is that there were a lot of them, and the staff thought the best place to seat two tables full of young children was right next to four beer-swilling men. After a few of our neighbors decided to launch into a Whocanscreamtheloudestandlongestwithoutadultintervention contest, we moved ourselves to the other side of the nearly empty patio. I don't know who thinks it's a good idea to bring children to a brewery, but it's not any fun for anybody involved. Don't do it. After multiple discussions concerning peanut allergies, food being sent back, and plenty of sighing and sarcastic comments from our waittress, we got our food. It was a burger, and tasted like a burger. That's all the review I'm giving it. You can splash some beer over here, locally source this over here, but it was still just a burger. Nothing mind-blowing. The food here is acceptable bar food. It's even on the better side. I've had both okay service and terrible service here. This is what holds the restaurant back, not the food or beer. Hopefully it's better next time. read more

Awesome place with a large outdoor seating and also indoor. This place is missing a tv by the bar with sport on. The tasting flights $6!!! 5 2oz samples of their beer so damn cheap! Belgium pale ale and the munich dark is my fav there. The beer batter fries were awesome and the spinach salad was a pleasant surprise. They stay open till 9 on the wkends, and start to fill up for dinner at 6. It's a great place to have great cheap beer and food. 2 people we shared the flight, ate fries, hummus, and salad and 1 more drink each $35!!! Without tip. Definitely will return soon. read more

We ended up spending 3+ hours here on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon - I think the first nice on this year, and so I was a little over dressed (should have worn less! and I got a sunburn!). However we LOVED our afternoon at Harpoon. The outside is all dog friendly and HUGE - there's a patio area where food is served, of note, I would recommend making a RSVP for this space as it's not large and continued to have a wait the entire time we were there. There is also a huge fire pit with chairs all the way around, grassy/picnic area with tables and tons of law games. It's family friendly and I found it was a good divide. Hubby, me and pup stayed at the fire pit and it was pretty chill and calm, with the areas on the lawn a bit more rowdy with all the playing kids. The beer is WONDERFUL, we did a couple of tasting flights before we chose what we would drink for the day - and nothing disappointing. We also ordered a couple of pretzels (SO YUM)! I'm not sure they are supposed to serve food outside of the patio and the inside (huge seating area with a store too with merchandise and ALL of their offerings - you can also purchase a growler too with fresh draft - I did a 32 oz can sized growler and the price was super reasonable), but we had been there since open and our waitress was very accommodating and still allowed us to order pretzels! On a perfect spring, summer or fall day, Harpoon is the best day to spend a nice afternoon hanging out and drinking some refreshing beer! read more

Unless you are lost for some reason off of Rt 91 in Vermont you would really have no reason to ever stumble across the Harpoon brewery up here unless you were going there on purpose. The Windsor brewery will give you a few good reasons to show up, hell the good folks at Harpoon managed to grab my ADD attention last weekend with their annual weekend long BBQ contest. What else could you ask for on a hot summer weekend? Cold, fresh Harpoon beer and mountains and mountains of smoking, fresh off the grill BBQ. There were vendors there from all over the north east it was pretty wild. Lots of locals head to Harpoon just to fill up their growlers too, not a bad idea. Anyway, next event up there is Octoberfest which I might hit just to camp up there and drink fresh Harpoon for cheap all weekend. read more

I LOVEEEEEED Harpoon. From it's exterior I could tell I was going to like my visit. They had a bunch of tables outside for people to eat and taste the many varieties. The tour was fantastic. I forgot the names of the tour guides but they were interesting and friendly. We even got to try the upcoming pumpkin UFO. The tour was reasonable at (5?) dollars. We sat at the bar to have a pint and a snack. The food was very good-poutine and clam chowder. Our bartender/server was so helpful and friendly. If I lived in the area I would be a regular. There are not enough positive adjectives to describe how I felt about Harpoon. Go! read more

I've been to Harpoon a few times, and I've always enjoyed their brewery tour, as well as the beer tastings. The brewery is set in a very scenic (albeit remote) location, and the staff are extremely polite and friendly. During the brewery tour you will have the opportunity to sniff and taste various kinds of hops and grains used in their brew-making process. And at the end of the tour, you can taste as many of their beers as you want, as many times as you want. #Awesome I specially loved their White UFO, the pumpkin UFO and the Octoberfest. The Big Squeeze shandy was a very different and refreshing experience too. The other thing that stands out about Harpoon is the restaurant. Not only is the food awesome, you can enjoy it while sitting by their outdoor fireplace. How cool is that? There's also a bunch of games that you can play outside. Overall we had a great time at Harpoon, and I can't wait to go back. read more

Stopped here for lunch and were not disappointed. Neither of us are particular Harpoon fans, but we were pleasantly surprised by the food, service, ambience, and yes, beer. We ordered (and split) the vegetarian black bean burger (with onion rings obviously) and the spinach salad. Both were perfect. Our waitress was really prompt & pleasant. We capped off the afternoon with a game of shuttlecocks on the lawn, and despite the fact that I lost the game, we had a great time. read more

I love Harpoon beers, and visiting one of the two Harpoon breweries had been on my to-do list for quite some time now. The Harpoon Brewery in Windsor offered a fantastic tour and was a really cool place to hang out and enjoy lots of delicious Harpoon beers. For $5, we got a pretty lengthy and informative tour, where the two tour guides let us taste a variety of barley and smell hops at the beginning, take a walk to the back of the brewery to try some "green" beer before it became the finished product, and then try some more Harpoon IPA from the barrel before returning to the front area where we were able to sample as many beers as we could in a 15 to 20-minute time frame. At that point, I was able to try the Harpoon Ale, which is only available at the brewery, the Harpoon Dark, Rye IPA, and the UFO Pumpkin, among many others. Outside the tour, the restaurant area was packed, but we were able to grab some beers at the bar to bring outside. Two highlights: the test batches of Honey Ginger IPA, a perfectly sweet, gingery beer that doesn't taste too much like an IPA, and the Red Velvet, which was really nice red velvety stout. We grabbed some seats around the fire pit, and it made for a lovely afternoon. After enjoying our beers there, we made sure to purchase some bottles to take home with us. We weren't able to try the food, but we will definitely be back. read more

Have been here several times before for the festivals; today went here for lunch and the beer, service, and atmosphere was great - the food however, was pretty bad. But, this is a brewery in the middle of nowhere, VT - I'd go back for beer/apps. Looks like the tours are cool, so this review is just based on a lunch experience. read more

The Harpoon Brewery restaurant is pretty darn good. Andy had a massive plate of fish and chips (8 oz. of fish) that was super crispy on the outside and tender and flaky inside. The cole slaw was pretty good. I had a panini, which was good, save for having too much mustard on it. The store was pretty cool and we ended up with a case of cider and 6 cider glasses. read more

Great stop for roadtrippers and families! Do not let the "brewery" keep you away with the kids... they have lawn games, a climbing slide, and giant chess board to keep everyone entertained while they stretch their legs. On weekend nights in the summer they may have live music or a movie night. Check out the little shops on the premises too... fun little tastes of Vermont and some of the best cold brewed bottled ice coffee I have found. If you have the opportunity, order a grilled pizza! So fresh and unique every time. We make it a point to stop here anytime we travel through Vermont. The Path of Life sculpture garden and river tubing are also on location. Such a big place, and it keeps getting better. read more

Treated ourselves to a cheeseburger made from VT beef and cheddar cheese along with sharing a brewery sampler. Sat by a roaring fire and enjoyed our visit thoroughly. Took home a couple of growlers and will surely stop again on our next venture to Vermont. I highly recommend this short hop off of exit 9 for anyone passing through. read more

Food and service are quite good. You really can't go wrong with Harpoon.

We went to the brewery for a late lunch on a Saturday. We didn't take the tour itself. We ordered a sampler of beer and a hard cider to drink (both good and well priced). For lunch, we split an order of BBQ wings and got two specials: fish and chips and a chicken salad sandwich. All of the food was very good and we'd definitely go back again! read more

Thursday nights are great here, they had live music and it was packed with people. My only problem was that it took the waitress a while to take our order, but once the order was in the food came pretty fast. I had The Vermonter which is just a turkey, bacon, apple, and cheese panini with mustard. It was excellent, just enough food without feeling like I ate too much. They have many different types of beers there, I got the UFO white, Leviathan Barleywine (11.5% alcohol), and winter warmer. All where very tasty. I would recommend coming before 6pm if you want a seat to eat. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the upper valley. read more

I loved Harpoon! The tour was very in-depth and the girl knew what she was talking about. She had an answer to every question and was very energetic. The 15 mins of tasting can't be beat and is definitely worth the 5 bucks that includes the entire hour, the tasting, and the tasting glasses. We wanted to get lunch in their restaurant after, but unfortunately they were so full that they weren't seating anymore. That was the only disappointment but you can't blame them for being busy! The area is quite nice too, with outdoor seating for the brewery and a variety of other shops. Can't wait to visit the Boston location! read more

We drove up from Boston for the 3 p.m. Friday brewery tour. We got in around 2:15 to have lunch. The brewery seemed to be under construction and was very disorganized. You order at the counter and they give you a number, but there wasn't enough open seating in the dining area so we sat outside on picnic tables while it was raining. The girl at the counter said our order would take a half an hour (we only ordered grilled cheese/grilled turkey sandwiches) which came with chips (which wasn't noted on the menus,) so we ended up paying extra for bags of chips. The food was decent, but servers were walking all over the grounds to find people who had ordered food, though. Merchandise is sparse and jammed behind the dining room tables. The food counter also serves as the bar and check-out for people buying beer to-go. You have to sign up for the tours on a clipboard, which is not clearly marked. They only have tours on Fridays and Saturdays at 3 p.m., but you can walk in to a small area with signs and watch them bottling the beer anytime... it's VERY loud. People started gathering inside the bottling area at 3 p.m. even though no brewery staff seemed to care that the tour was supposed to start. A few customers kept going back to the counter and were told someone was "on their way." At about 3:20 p.m. the counter girl came to the group and basically asked if we had any questions and held up dusty bottles of each beer and described it briefly. You could barely hear her because of the bottling going on behind us. She passed around some malt and then went to get 4 different pitchers of beer. Because of VT law, you can only get small samples, so you get tiny (smaller than Dixie cup) size samples of 4 kinds of beer. That's it. If you've ever been to beer school at Busch Gardens, the Sam Adams tour, or most other brewery tours, you will be very disappointed. Apparently the machinery broke down earlier in the day, or we would have been able to go on the floor. This wasn't very educational and sampling was lame, and there were tons of cobwebs. --- P.S. They don't take American Express credit cards. read more

I've been to Harpoon in Boston and loved it so when driving through Vermont, I had to stop by Harpoon in Vermont as well. We went on a tour which was awesome. To do a guided tour (which is much better than the "self-guided" tour), it only happens at certain times on Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays. I recommend checking out the website or calling them in advance to confirm the times. The tours fill up so get there early. You buy a ticket at the bar for $5. The tour is about 40 minutes and it includes a history of the brewery, an actual tour in the brewery grounds, about 15 minutes of unlimited tap samples, and a small Harpoon glass to take home. Afterwards, we ate in the restaurant. The restaurant is nothing to write home about. Though, they do have the delicious pretzels that we fell in love with at Harpoon brewery in Boston. Check it out! read more

Had an awesome experience here! We came on a Sunday morning and were the only other couple there. Within 30 minutes the place was starting to fill. We sat at the bar and had a great time getting to know our bartender, Josh. He gave us tasters and then mixed beers to make his own creations which were delicious. You can tell he's passionate about his job and harpoon as a brand. Being a local, he gave us some suggestions on the area. They serve food but we unfortunately we ate before we came. They have a large bar and seating area with fireplace, but we moved outside to their patio since we had our dog with us. They lit the fire pit which was awesome considering this was probably one of the last nice fall weekends before it gets too cold to be outside. With the sun, fire pit and good beer it was an amazing fall day. There is also a cheese/meat shop and vodka place in their plaza. Will definitely be back! read more

Harpoon Brewery - Breweries Near Me - Windsor, Vermont

Weird that it only serves until 6 pm on weekdays. Stopped by after skiing and had a winter warmer and their signature IPA. Both were good. The bar featured a modern take on the fireplace and all men at the bar (many of them brewery workers after their shift enjoying the fruit of efforts). read more

Great beer, awesome brewery tour, good food, friendly and knowledgeable service. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I found several beverages that I really enjoy and my husband got to try more of a variety than usual. Definitely a "must do" if you're in the area. read more

We loved our visit to the brewery and my husband loves harpoon beer. The food was great too.

Nice location and views, but the music is so loud that it is unpleasant. Overall, dislike.

$5/pp for an hour-long tour of the brewery (awesome deal!) - they also give you a tasting glass to keep, several tastings throughout the tour and a sampling of their beers at the end. the staff was friendly and funny. we had lunch afterwards at their restaurant - food was great - we had the whole wheat pulled pork nacho special (amazing), burger and bratwurst. many of their items seemed to have been marinated in their beers - very yummy. our waitress was not great, spent most of the time flirting with customers at the bar and pretty much ignored us the whole time - the other waitstaff had to serve us a few times. there were a lot of souvenirs to buy in the gift shop as well as a good selection of beers. in vermont, everything is so far apart, so i had a difficult time choosing which sites were worth visiting - happy we chose harpoon! read more

Awesome brewery and the tour for $5 is a great deal. You get a tour, souvenir glass, and the knowledgable staff gives you samples during and after the tour. Only downside is that the line was terribly long, but that's probably due to the Holiday we visited and how great the place is. My favorite beer is the Long Thaw and the Crowlers are a good deal for $4.99 plus tax read more

If you're interested in brewing, this is the tour for you. But do make sure to be there on Friday or Saturday before 3pm and sign up on the clipboard to get on it. You get the same speal you do from every other brewery about how beer is made and how their beer is unique, but then you get to walk around the whole factory, including the bottling line and refrigeration unit - something I've never experienced in such an all encompassing manor (been to Sam Adams, Harpoon Boston, Cape Anne, Cooperstown Brewing, Ommegang, Shipyard, Redhook) - then afterward you get to sample beer, which is very cool as well - then they have a whole seating area inside and outside where you can enjoy a pint - didn't try the food, but I didn't come for the food, so I'm not too sad about that read more

Was up in Windsor over Memorial Day Wknd with some friends and was about to head home Sunday when I spotted the brewery about 5 minutes away from us on the map. As I've had Harpoon before, we figured we needed to visit. Very glad we did. We just missed the last tour of the day, but Josh kindly gave my friends and I a private tour complete with plenty of informative tidbits and of course beer samples. We also had some great sliders from the grill. Can't wait to head up there again. read more
