No sense of urgency after office delay. Was prescribed a prescription on 12/24/2025 that has been an ordeal w/ lack of communication from the doctor's office and wrong information being sent to the insurance company causing the prescription to be pending/delayed for a few days/week which I was trying to get it before the new year and ASAP because my eyes were hurting. After my appointment, found out that the prescription is not covered by my insurance plan. Called the doctor's office to ask if there is another prescription. Did not get a call back but saw they changed it. The new prescription was still not being filled. Called the pharmacy and was told that it requires prior authorization. Called my insurance plan to know if a prior authorization was received and they didn't have one. Called my doctor's office again to request a prior authorization and for it to be sent as urgent as instructed by the pharmacy and insurance company. Called my doctor's office again a couple of days later at least twice as well as calling the pharmacy and insurance company. My doctor's office did not return any phone calls after one voicemail to call them back which I did several times. In the morning on 12/31/2025, the insurance company has not received a prior authorization. The pharmacy is still waiting for approval from the insurance company. Finally on the last day of the year someone from my doctor's office calls me and says they sent a prior authorization as urgent and that they only received two voicemail messages. I said I called multiple times a day and left messages as well as left messages w/ the front desk. She kept saying I didn't. She said she would send the prior authorization as urgent. I called the insurance plan and they received it as standard and not urgent. The likelihood of it being filled today, the last day of the year is slim to none because it was marked at standard. The pharmacy is closed early today and is closed tomorrow. This is insane! A patient should not have to get this involved w/ prescriptions and not be blamed for not receiving all the voicemail that were left. If two were received, that should be enough. If a request for a phone call and status are requested, call back. I do not recommend this office bc of the faulty staff. I don't know about the doctor bc I only had one appointment. Was not able to get the prescription today bc the person at my doctor's office did not send it as urgent and marked it as standard even though she said it was sent as urgent. I was also informed that they have to request an exception. This could have all been started last week when I first called the office regarding this. For me to pay out of pocket, it will cost over $1000.00. This could have been avoided if someone called me back after all the messages I left and sent the prior authorization last week and/or as urgent today.

She wasn't very happy about it, but we picked out a cute pair and I think she's worn them about 3 times in the past 2 years. A few days into 7th grade I received an email from her math teacher that he was pretty sure by the way she was squinting in class that she can't see. I confirmed that she can't and had another chat with her about wearing her glasses, but she was very reluctant. I recalled our eye dr saying that around 12/13 is the perfect time to get contact lenses and so I thought we should give it a try. We went to the eye dr who confirmed her vision had gotten much worse and it was time for glasses (or contacts) all the time. She then met with their contact specialist who spent an hour with her trying to teach her out to put them in. She left frustrated about wearings contacts. We were about to go back to the eye dr for another lesson when a friend told me about the contact whisperer, Dr. Daisy Mendez, at Perspective Eyes. I was willing to try anything so made an appointment for later that week. My daughter spent an hour with Dr. Daisy, who was sooo patient with her. Dr. Daisy started by teaching her out to remove them first and then they tackled how to put them in. She also numbed the eyes at the appointment, which helped her learn as well. She almost got it in that first hour, but not quite, so we went back a few days later and she conquered it in 30 minutes. It's been about a week and we are still perfecting putting them in, but everyday it gets easier. This morning she got them in within 7 minutes (our record so far!). I have to hold her long eyelashes away from her eye, which I hope I'm not still doing for her when she goes to college...but so happy that she can finally see. And she won't admit it, but I think she's thrilled to finally be able to see at school, on the tennis court and elsewhere. I tried contacts myself when I was her age and failed miserably. With the exception of driving I walk around pretty blind myself, but am tempted to give them another try now with Dr. Daisy. We will continue to go here for her eyecare and so thrilled my friend told me about this gem of a business and Dr!
