We decided to check out the rice rolls from Harmony Bakery in Richmond. There's only one table there to eat so it's really more of a takeout shop. For our rice rolls we got one with shrimp, and one with mixed vegetables. After being sealed in containers for awhile, by the time we found a place to eat and opened up the containers again, the rice rolls weren't so good. The Vegetarian one was especially...meh. Wasn't impressed with the veggies they used. They appeared to be just the small bits of mixed veggies that you would find in a bag of frozen mixed veggies. Plus the rice roll itself was gooey. The shrimp rice roll was slightly better. It was less gooey but still nothing to write home about. We tried a few of their baked goods too. Again, not impressed. Not sure how this place got a 3.9 star rating on Google. It was definitely somewhere below that number for us. Service: Good Parking: Free Location: 4231 Hazelbridge Way, Richmond, BC

This will be part of my new routine when I go see the optometrist next door or grab some tofu pudding from Excellent Tofu in the same plaza. I love the freshly made to order steamed rice rolls. Portions are big and prices are really good. We tried the shrimp one and the bbq pork. Loved both and they gave us a good amount of soy sauce to top it off. Next time I will need add an egg for $1 to try. We also tried the dai baos and very delicious. Definitely recommend!

The rice rolls are good but not as tasty as ones I've had in NYC Chinatown. Also I called ahead and placed an order and they said 20 min. I arrived 20 min later and they didn't even make the food yet...be prepared to wait like 40 min or more bc they're so slow. Good but in my opinion not worth the wait given so many other places to grab dimsum in Vancouver.

If you're looking for cheap and yummy Chinese food, you've found the place! However, don't expect any service from this bakery. The wait time was also extremely long. I would have given them a 5-star if I had been able to pick up my food in a timely manner. I called the Bakery at 12:05 pm to place an order. The lady told me the food will be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived at the Bakery at 12:35 pm. I went up to the counter and told them my name. She "barked" "not ready, go wait outside!" and pointed to the door. I said I wanted to add a pineapple bun with butter to my order and she barked again "no time to make for you. go wait outside!" So rude! This kind of service is prevalent in China and Hong Kong and I've experienced it when I went travelling... my HK friends also warned me about this kind of culture/attitude, but this is Canada here... At 1 pm, I went inside because it has been long past the time she told me. My food was sitting on the counter. So how exactly did they plan announce to their clients that the food was ready? They told us to go wait outside but not once did they come out and told us the food is ready? In the end, it took approximately 1 hour from the time I called to get my food. When I got home, I was starving. Thankfully, the food didn't disappoint. The rice rolls were decent sized. We also added an extra $1 for them to add an egg each. The also gave us sauces for the rice rolls and they were very delicious. The preserved egg congee didn't have too many preserved eggs. If I added all the tiny bits, they probably equated to a nickle's diameter. However, it was only $4. Overall, the food was yummy and very reasonably priced. I will go back for more; however, I need to figure out a strategy to deal with the wait time.

The best place for these yummy rice noodles!! Its also really cheapband fills you up. Steam Beef Rice Noodle $4.25 + $1 for egg Steam Shrimp Rice Noodle $5.00 + $1 for egg custard Sago ~ These are freshly made to order and they're very soft and delicious! The portion is very generous and one order each is enough! We will definitely be back for more especially at this price! It's located right across from Aberdeen.

I went here on May 24th Sunday and Yelp reviews brought me here. I didn't try any of the noodles mentioned here, but tried some of their buns. I ordered the buns by the door and their egg tarts. Some of the menu is written in Chinese so I had some difficulty ordering. It was rather easier pointing out items in the store. Their buns were huge with less fillings in it. Noodle dishes are what Harmony is known for I guess. Buns were okay nothing particular. Staff was helpful.

I came by on a weekend morning and didn't realize I had to call ahead to make an order. This is a hole in a wall, so they don't have a website or Instagram to check out their menus Their menu on display is not fully in English Signs on the pastries displayed at the window would be helpful Customers are not allowed in the store so the staff came outside to take orders The staff were so helpful in explaining what items they had on display at the window because most of the menu is in Chinese We ordered a jicama fried dumpling and 1 order of steamed pork rice roll The fried dumpling was so good! ($1.10 each). It was so oily on the outside but the inside was soft and chewy, and filled with ground pork and jicama The rice rolls were steamed and so fresh with a good amount of toppings of pork and green onions ( $4.25). The rolls come with soy sauce on the side My order was ready in less than 10 minutes I would come back to try other rice rolls and add an egg to the steamed rice rolls, and try their other baked goods!!

Absolutely delicious! I've been looking for this style of rice noodles for a while but I haven't found any restaurants near me that sell it. We took a trip to Vancouver for a few days and of course I was looking all over for for different food options. I remembered that Richmond was THE place to get great dim sum so I searched up rice noodles and landed on Harmony Bakery. We walked in and it smelled amazing. There were breads and pastries everywhere, everything looked so good. We decided since we were crossing back over the border to just keep our order small this time but we'll be back first thing once we come back. The rice noodles were everything I was hoping they'd be. Chewy, soft, SO good. The cake my husband got was also pretty good. It had like a sweet rice flavor. Definitely recommend getting egg with the noodles! We didn't know this going in so keep in mind that they are CASH ONLY. We had to run across the street to find an ATM while they were making our food. Unless I completely missed it, there's no sign anywhere stating this and only a couple reviews here mention it. Definitely come get some noodles, they're amazing!

Harmony Bakery is one my favourite hole in the walls in Richmond! Located in central Richmond and across Aberdeen Centre, it is a great and affordable place to grab a quick meal or a couple snacks. They are famous for their home made fresh steamed rice noodle rolls which range from $4-7. They have a couple different protein options: pork, beef, shrimp and eggs. They also make them vegetarian with just green onions or plain. It is fresh to order so you can mix and match whatever toppings! In addition to the steamed rice rolls, they offer a variety of dumplings, breads and baked goodies.

Cheap, quick snack in Richmond. I first heard about this place on Instagram, but don't go to Richmond often, so I never had a chance to try it. Then during one of my rare times in Richmond, I was walking to my friend's place and saw the sign and knew that I had to try it out! I had their shrimp rice noodle with an egg (+$1). I waited a few minutes and it was all packed and ready to go. When I opened the container, I was surprised by how much there was. I poured some of the sauce on and had a bite. It was a satisfying snack. The added egg is definitely a must! The rice noodle was chewy and tender. This dish is quite simple, yet satisfying and comforting too.

A new must try on my Vancouver recommendation list is this rice roll from Harmony Bakery located in Richmond It's a little hidden gym in Golden Village but man this little store with only one table inside demands presence! For $4 you can get this fresh steamed beef rice noodle and DON'T FORGET TO ADD EGG for $1 more because it is totally worth it!! Honestly this plus HK BBQ Master are my two fav must go if I'm only going for a day trip! Tip: the store only accepts cash and it does take a while a while to get your food but that's because they make it fresh for you! Don't forget to add the sweet sauce and their homemade spicy sauce when eating it!

We stopped by here to get some rice noodles and they were made fresh to order! And not only that, they were sooo delicious with generous portion sizing and only $5 per serving. The shop reminded me a lot of Hong Kong and home. They also had a variety of Chinese baked goods as well, and we grabbed some buns to go but have not had a chance to try them yet. However we would come back here just for their rice noodles! The only complaint is that sometimes it may be difficult to find a parking spot in the parkade but there is relatively quick turnover.

    Love love love this!

I loved the texture for the rice roll texture. I should have asked with green onion with egg and dry shrimp but I didn't. I saw it on I instagram and of course I jumped on the band wagon and had to try it out. Their sponge cake was delicious. The cream was just enough sweetness and it was so soft and easy to eat you can inhale a whole cake not feeling bad. ( Please don't do that ) Jimaca dumplings were good till I saw the mince pork in it. Mind you I'm not the one to convince people to become pescatarian but it's a choice. For the first bite I had it was good so get it if you are a meat eater. I'm craving for this as I type.

I received with a box of assorted pastries, a box of wife cakes, and $30 in gift cards. This is my honest review of my visit and I wasn't required to post a review. When I came into the store, the staff were confused about what I was trying to pick up at first, but it was quickly resolved when the manager came to the front counter and I explained to her that I was one of the contest winners. The queue was short because not many customers was inside at the time so I was in and out pretty quickly. The store area was spacious and there were quite a lot of pastries on display. The pastries i received were beautifully boxed. They could definitely be presented as gifts to loved ones or work colleagues. The box was gold and red, with a golden foiled design on the lid and a gold string ribbon to keep the lid closed. The pastries themselves were gorgeous. Just looking at them made my mouth water. They were soft and crumbly to the touch. The buns of the pastry were buttery and the outer layer was very flaky with every bite. Some of the pastry buns had sesame seeds sprinkled on the top. They were all baked perfectly. The inside fillings were quite sweet but no overly sweet. There was no indication on the box on what kind of pastries they were so im not totally sure what kind of pastries i received. Some had a sweet tasting filling with an egg yolk or a century egg center, just red bean paste, or just some other type of sweet filling. I shared the pastries with my family over afternoon green tea and they were a hit! My family loved them. The wife cakes I received were very soft, tasted delicious, and sweet but not as sweet as the assorted pastries. They were filled with winter melon filling, i believe. They were also made a great pairing when they were served with tea. They were all individually wrapped with plastic wrap which helped keep them fresh. The boxed was also nicely designed with gold and red colors. My family really liked them. Overall, i think Kam Do bakery is one of the best Chinese bakeries in Richmond. Gotta give them 5 stars for their absolutely delicious pastries.

We tried the combo pack with Durian, Purple Yam, Chestnut, and Mango, and every bite was delightful. You can really taste the effort and pride in the chestnut puree--it's smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The staff are warm, friendly, and clearly proud of their craft, which adds to the charm of the experience. This is absolutely one of those places worth lining up for.
