I was really excited for their afternoon tea but I think we went on an off day. Very slow service...we arrived on a Monday shortly after opening and there were only 2 tables before us but we waited almost an hour for our afternoon tea. We got our drinks first, but the Biscoff latte didn't come with a biscuit and they forgot to add milk to the purple yam matcha, which tasted bitter. The chicken karaage batter was a bit dark so they should change their oil, but the chicken was still juicy. We enjoyed the variety of baked goods. Overall their afternoon tea is good value and the cafe is very cute.

Located inside aberdeen center. We didn't try the actual menu because we just had our lunch. So we decided to get their croissants. They have so many variety, but too bad, they only have 5 kinds left when we get there. They have promo buy 4 get 2 free. And if today is your bday, you can also get buy 1 get 1 free as well So we got 6 croissant and 2 waffle: Salted egg Earl grey Truffle kani Original Service: friendly.

Another transit friendly spot with plenty of parking - located inside Aberdeen - ground level in some would say the spot of doom - as the restaurant at this exact spot flips pretty quickly - but this one has held it's ground for a while now which is great. You will probably want to try and book ahead if you're coming on a weekend or during peak meal periods - as they can get quite busy. Spot if very bright with modern day decor - seating is spaced nicely for you to enjoy private conversations - Service team was pretty quick - and checked in on us a reasonable amount of times - they also were knowledgeable with their menu and can answer questions with ease. Smoked salmon croissant was pretty tasty - croissant was flaky with just the right amount of fluff to it - not overly buttery. - However the amount of salmon was pretty lackluster - Fries was too thin, and lacked crisp - so missed the point.

Great deal for $75! Some of the desserts were very heavy with the amount of cream. The overall meal was plentiful and a good balance of sweet and savoury. Would definitely come back for more!

We visited for their high tea set and it was such an amazing spread! Everything tasted fantastic but it just didn't feel like a high tea experience. It feels like a marked up meal that forces you to buy more than you want to eat. The set comes with both savoury options and sweet options. We ate the chicken karaage and fries first (which already feels odd for high tea) and were basically full already. The rest of the platter included full sized croissants and several small desserts. Ultimately it was way too much food and we didn't get to enjoy most of it fresh. Everything else was fine. The space is very nice but not significantly different from the previous shop occupants. It did get busy later in our meal but the staff never rushed us which was nice. I think it's a nice spot to visit but the high tea is unnecessary.

My family and relatives came here for lunch today. Eleven of us ordered a lot of food. It ranged between Japanese pasta and afternoon tea sets. Everything tasted great. Service was great especially the boss of the restaurant served our table as well. We enjoyed the lunch and time at the restaurant for sure. The afternoon tea set included seasonal fruits (mangoes) and desserts. They were delicious. Each of us got non alcoholic drinks. we highly recommended to reserve a table in advance if your group is big.

    Large portions for high tea!

Came here for their high tea service and loved it! It's not your traditional English high tea, obviously, but their Japanese twist to it was a welcomed change to what I'm used to. For $36/person including any drink of choice from their menu, especially that the food tasted good, you can't go wrong! The high tea service comes with chicken karaage, fries, and a smoked salmon croissant sandwich (all full sizes) as the savoury options. Then for the dessert, you get a custard croissant, sponge cake with custard and fruits, fruit tart, matcha tiramisu, and a flan. The desserts were also large in portions. Even if you come hungry, which we did, we couldn't even finish half of it because of the large portions. The tables and atmosphere were wonderful too. Well lit. The tables were spaced out with good distance from each other. The servers were friendly and attentive in the right amount. Can't go wrong! I had a friend who said she previously came here and wasn't impressed with the food, but the high tea was well worth it!

Mango lovers, this is your dream come true! I visited Hazukido Plus Café with my dad to try their Mango Madness Afternoon Tea Set, and it exceeded expectations! For savouries, we chose the Cauliflower Karaage (crispy and flavorful) and Smoked Salmon Croissant, and added an extra Avocado Toast--totally worth it! The portions were generous and beautifully presented. The sweet tier was a mango wonderland with Mango Chiffon Cake, Mango Coconut Tiramisu, Mango Pudding, and more. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced--not overly sweet. You also get to select 2 drinks with the set. I tried the Iced Mango Matcha Latte and Fresh Mango Drink with Pudding, and we added a Mango Mojito as an extra--super refreshing! The ambiance is cute and vibrant, with floral décor and comfy seating--perfect for special moments or casual tea dates. $75 for two guests is a great deal for the quantity and quality. We even had to pack some leftovers!

They have a lot of interesting flavours and I like that the pastries weren't overly sweet. The taste of the pastries was good, but the texture was not. I'm not sure if I came on a weekend evening and it was bad timing (they had buy 4 get 2 free), but the pastries tasted stale and very dry. It lacked the flakiness and airiness one would expect for croissants. Perhaps I am spoiled by other patisseries but the quality of the pastries was a bit disappointing. We got 2 croissants for my friend who did not want them :( he commented that he has tried them before and didn't enjoy them. Service on the other hand is friendly and good. No complaints there!

Another restaurant that opens in this location-- I genuinely wish it the best and hope it can stay open for a longer period of time because I like this place the most out of all the restaurants that have been opened at this exact location. The vibe of the restaurant stayed pretty similar to all the previous restaurants-- nice open space, well lit, felt clean. Service * took a little long but everyone was quite nice. Food * Smoked Salmon Croissant I wish I tried their sweet croissants, but I ended up getting a savoury one. Their smoked salmon croissant was pretty on point. It was the right flakiness and it didn't feel overly buttery. They skimped out in the sampler salmon though. If you're hungry, I'd recommend getting something else because it's smaller than regular croissants (which I already knew bc of their name). I got their brunch set, which included either fries or salad and a Greek Yogurt with Strawberry compote. The fries was below mid... stale and skinny. The yogurt was too tart for my liking and the strawberry compote did not help. Not a fan. * Croffles and Chicken Again, this came in a lunch set. For $26, there was a good number pieces of chicken. The skin was overly fried and a little too oily, but the interior was super tender. It was not too salty, but had good flavour. * Strawberry Fizz Drink I forgot the exact name of the drink, but it was just a carbonated starberry soda. Refreshing but nothing special. * Uni Pasta This brunch set came with some sides and a mushroom drink. I'm usually a huge fan of uni AND pasta, but something was off about this dish. It was still yummy, but not quite what I was expecting. Although I'd add that I like how it didn't feel too heavy. The mushroom soup was the absolutely winner out of everything we ordered. It was so creamy and flavourful, but not too overpowering. It'd come back just to order the soup if I'm ever in Richmond !! Overall, not a first bad impression. I'd come back to try their sweet croissants as that's what they're known for. The presentations were nice to the eye and the flavours were intriguing.

Chicken "breast" and cheese croissant, with a side of fries $16
    Poonam S.

I was excited about this place but we were disappointed. Chicken "breast" & cheese croissant combo = $16 The chicken breast croissant was tiny; literally it was a very tiny croissant and there wasn't any real chicken breast; rather a piece of processed chicken meat, similar to luncheon meat. I was disappointed and it was questionable but given how hard times are, I just had to let it go. To be fair, the fries and marinated half egg were good. The yogurt was unnecessary and not so great, so I didn't eat it. I would not order this again. I felt cheated because there wasn't a way for me to know the portion would be so tiny. Not recommended if you are hungry. Chicken curry = $27 This was okay, nothing special and I don't think it was worth $27. It was a generous portion, with a serve of salad, rice, potato salad and some vegetable pickles. Curry was very salty. Latte = $6.50 This was probably the best thing here. Matcha & red bean latte The croissant was good but not enough red bean paste. Good service. We mostly tipped for the service, not the food. Clean tables and environment. Friendly staff.

Meal experiences were enjoyable - I enjoyed their curry and attentive service. Some items could be hit or miss or have small portion size but its overall ambiance is a plus. If you want a nice place to chat, dining here is relaxing and more comfortable than the upstairs food court. Aberdeen is notably crowded on the weekends so reservations may be a good idea. Or venture out during the week and their weekday lunch specials could be a good menu to try for your first time here. Croissants are definitely a popular menu item, either for takeout or dining in. I would return to enjoy its cozy high tea vibes.

Got here early in the morning for their Grand Opening Buy 3 get 3 free deal (today only) and was pleasantly impressed with the customer service at this location. The decor was minimalistic and kept the space airy and the staff were very welcoming. The lineup and crowd control was managed well, with 5 ppl being let in at a time and the display case was fully stocked at opening, with the croissant offerings going for $5-6 each on avg. My top 3 favorites are the Taro Pudding, Coffee Mascarpone and Butter Garlic. Some people were already being seated for lunch in the expansive seating area as the first people in line for croissants were leaving, so I'll definitely have to come back for that and the uni pasta on the menu!

It reminded me of searching for pineapple buns as a kid. Unfortunately, the experience quickly took a turn. My wife, child, and I stopped in close to closing because my child wanted sesame balls. It was his first time ever asking for them, so we were excited to get a few. When we brought our items to the counter, the staff member curtly told us to grab more pastries, which already felt a bit off. Things became more uncomfortable during checkout. We were told they only accept CAD cards, which is understandable, but when we asked about paying in USD, they agreed at a one to one rate. Not ideal, but we were happy to support a local business. Our total came to 10.75 CAD and we paid with 20 USD. Instead of receiving proper change, we were strongly encouraged to take additional pastries because they did not have change. The staff was quite insistent, and we ended up with several extra items we did not really want. To make matters worse, after piling multiple pastries into my wife's already full hands as she was carrying bags from traveling, we asked for a bag and were initially told no. Only after we returned some of the coins given as change did a box and then suddenly a bag become available. The entire interaction felt unnecessarily pressured and uncomfortable. While both parties were speaking Chinese, I could not shake the feeling of being taken advantage of as an outsider simply trying to support the business. To top it off, the pastries themselves were mediocre at best. It is a shame, because the place has such a nostalgic charm, but the service left a lasting negative impression.
